I typically go to the Debarr location so switching things up felt a bit...chaotic? It almost felt uncanny. First of all. I came in and didn't have my membership card and my Costco app would not load. I went to the membership desk and zero issue, zero line, they printed me off a temporary pass so I wouldn't have to drive back home for my physical card. I didn't even know they did this. Everyone working was actually nice. Smiles. It was cool. The layout did confuse me but that'll happen when you're used to your store. I was ready to pickup a printer but couldn't find them so that's a task for another day. THE SAMPLES! wow! Either this time and day was perfect for samples or they are on every corner at this location! The sample sizes were also HUGE! Really I think this location has more product selections than the Debarr location. It also wasn't a hectic parking lot aside from looking at the people in line for gas (not me!) Fortunately, I've had no further distress with the pharmacy, and my doctors with regards to RX. However, I'm updating my review, because I hate the way Costco runs out of things, and does not replace them. I've been hunting now for weeks for Apple Cider, and it's out of stock at Dimond and the Business Center. And I never knew this prior to shopping at Costco - cases of Bush's Baked Beans are a seasonal item, so now I buy multiples of those. But what I find most aggravating about Costco these days, is the lack of seating in the food court. They have these tall tables you stand up at, maybe 4 of them, and very few of the picnic style tables. Unfortunately for me, by the time I have done my shopping, and get to the food court, I'm in excruciating agony with my back, and feel like I will collapse if I do not sit down immediately. But because there are so few tables to sit at, I have to wait till someone is done. And often, when they're done, they will sit doomscrolling on their phone. And let's also insert at this point, my distress at them removing the deeply beloved Churro from their menu. I'm not the only one deeply distressed by this. I really think you could do some dining table rearrangement Costco, for us people whose backs really hurt, (but not quite enough to get on one of those disabled person carts) As always, kudos for the $1.50 hot dog and soda, but are you ever bringing back the diced onions/sauerkraut? read more

I love costco. I had a particular disappointing experience at this costco. I sat down to enjoy my beautiful chocolate fudge sundae until I realized i forgot to get a spoon. I got up, walked over to the utensils, and to my dismay there was no spoons. I was turned away after i walked up to an employee, so instead I sat in line for 10 minutes until i finally reached the kitchen. I then requested a spoon, but was rudely turned away. What happened to costco's customer satisfaction? For a damn spoon? I went to customer service to ask for a refund because who, really, expects someone to eat ice cream without a spoon? what is this, oppression? Finally, the only sane employee in the building, Sara (who had stunning makeup), issued me a refund and even went to the break room to give me a spoon. Except for Sara at customer service, this costco is not offering satisfactory service. Where are all the spoons? What is this, a spoon shortage? read more

We pretty much get gas every weekend after our weekend adventures and there is one guy at the pump named Rory and he is so helpful. He always asks us if he can assist with the absorbent pads. We look forward to seeing Rory since he is so helpful. read more

Love this Dimond location Costco for all our bulk needs. My family is still "in-between," the need to shop in bulk and being able to go to smaller places like Walmart/Carrs/Fred Meyer. I appreciate the new self-checkout section they have for when you're just coming to grab a few items. Don't be deterred by the long lines in normal checkout. Each cashier has an assistant that helps the lines move fast. Lots of take and bake/make-at-home meals, that shouldn't be missed. Since Covid, their food court is now self-serve. Way cool. Don't sleep on the clothing/books/outdoor section. Lots of affordable but quality slides, athleisure wear, swimwear, undergarments etc. Costco carries brands like Levi's, Champion, Puma, Eddie Bower etc. We get fall/spring jackets here for our son yearly. Honorable mention for the liquor store. Great for entertaining and large gatherings. I believe the same makers of Grey Goose also make the Kirkland Signature vodka that is both affordable and of quality. Lastly, Costco consistently has the cheapest gas prices (members only). Don't be deterred by those lines either, they move fast. read more

I do a lot of shopping here. But if you are thrify and looking to save money, you need to seriously do per unit price comparisons before shopping here. Don't assume just because items are bulk that you will save money - that IS NOT THE CASE- especially regarding their meat and produce. They intentionally cut their meat in such a way to force you to over-buy. And in Alaska, the peoduce is often at the end of is shelf-life and under-ripe, so unless you plan to use immediately, you won't save a thing. Additionally, in some cases the per unit price is more than Fred Meyer, Walmart, and occasionally Carrs. Be a wise shopper when shopping here. Some items are well priced and some items aren't available elsewhere. Their seasonal imports are very tempting, but can lead you to seriously over-spend. It's a good idea to set a mental limit before you go in so you aren't cursing your lack of self control when you leave. read more

Costco is pretty much the same anywhere you go. I recommend going at opening for the least amount of crowds. Parking can be a hassle during peak shopping time specially around holidays because everyone is in a rush. Besides that, the store is clean and organized with the occasional let's move everything around a bit. I like their seasonal section, they always have plenty of options for all holidays. The meat, cheese and produce section is great and at a reasonable cost, however it's always in bulk. Freezer space is a must or consuming quickly. There are always some great finds but you gotta take your time and wander the entire store. read more

I'm here probably once a week and it's usually a relatively painless shopping experience. They have several self check out lanes toward the far right. If you wait too long to get here on the weekend you may have a hard time finding parking. The store seems much bigger than the lot. The gas lanes tend to move pretty quickly. Fuel isn't cheap in Alaska so it's probably worth getting a membership for that alone. Friendly and helpful staff. Exorbitant prices in comparison to the lower 48. read more

Always got to make a run to Costco. We've been coming here since we'd moved to Anchorage and before we were members in Florida. I get Diesel and Gas here occasionally when I'm out of Fuel Rewards at Fred Myers or Carr's. We love their warehouse items and it's typically a 2-3 times per week shopping stop. From meats to staples like olive oil and toilet paper (we all need that right?) we're here. I will say that the Pharmacy ticks us off occasionally because they didn't fill that order or didn't tell you they were out of a medicine but on a whole A+ experience and their return policy is just phenomenal. Costco on Dimond has diesel fuel. The one on Debarr does not. I prefer the Costco on Debarr for there layout. Always friendly service. In researching the benefits of our CA Costco membership, we found out that it's good in other states too. We stopped at the Anchorage Costco on on the 1st day of our Alaskan adventure. There, we stocked up on snacks, water, wine and fruit. We saved a lot of money by making our purchases at Costco and planning ahead instead of buying these items at local stores and restaurants. One thing to consider: in Alaskan Costco, you have to pay for wine separately. Here in CA, all Costco purchases are paid for at the same cash register. I thought the debar costco was an exercise in warfare trying to park but this one is like they took it to the next level. Oh good gosh the person that designed the parking lot and the interior needs to be flogged, made to walk the plank and knocked senseless. It's a freaking mess. How the hell can you call yourself and architect and design something this horrible!? I've seen better back alleys. They'd be better of turning the parking lot into a freaking smash derby arena. And don't get me started on whatever dipstick decided that placing a good court at the exit were hundreds of people area trying to leave with their over sized items rising to get back to their cars meanwhile fighting with people trying to get actually decently priced food items and standing about eating or waiting to eat. 15 years ago I was overjoyed when they opened the Duncanville Costco. Unlike other DFW area Costco warehouse locations, the Duncanville location is not always full of people during the week, although weekends are still packed. I have always been a fan of Costco, from their great gas prices to their pantry staples, clothing, furniture, etc. They have a fantastic return policy on their items... your satisfaction guaranteed or your money back... period. Only electronics and a few other things have a time limit, since people were taking advantage of this. I have noticed the Costco warehouses in Dallas have a different selection of wines and sometimes even carry caviar for the holidays, where the Duncanville location does not. Still, I am thrilled to have a Costco location close by. I look forward to my visits there, unlike some of the more busy and crowded stores. They have a regular and an executive level membership. I find the executive membership is well worth the cost, as I receive a check every year based on my purchases that always exceeds the executive membership cost. They also guarantee if you don't think your membership was worth it, you can cancel and get a full refund. (Not many people do this). I even used the Costco auto buying program, where you get fleet pricing, and don't have to haggle with a salesman and the manager for your final price. The food court is a nice bonus too. I have dementia and multiple surgeries. I asked the cashiers to please put everything in boxes. They later mocked this among themselves and smashed 2 gallons of milk ON THEIR SIDES, into a box. If you don't eat out too much (a major economic failing of mine) a Costco membership is probably a must, especially up here in Alaska. For me, not so much. The deals on non-bulk-food items are...just OK. There are lots of bundles that appear to be cheaper but, upon further examination...aren't really a deal. Example: Nintendo switch w/ Mario bundle: $360. A switch costs $300, Mario costs $60. What is the point? Same with TV's, better deals can be found online or even at Best Buy. If you need a 3lb pack of chips or a 6lb sack of salami, this is your place. I go here at least once every two weeks. If you have a baby or have to make school lunches then this is the place to stock up. Look out for diaper and wipes coupons, even using price matching, coupons and target gift card back deals doesn't compare to Costco. I am a selective shopper though- some things are cheaper elsewhere. I usually only buy toilet paper, wipes and diapers and then protein bars/school lunch supplies that have Costco coupons. You can find some gems though- look in the clothing area and you can find tops/pants/kids clothes/coats for cheap- but the same quality as department stores. The return policy is great, I've had to return several clothing items and buy a different size as there is no dressing room. I love all of the samples, I usually go here hungry and eat up all the samples. The food court usually has no seating and there is almost always a long line.... but they have a new system where you can order on a touch screen and pay with a card and wait to hear your number called when it's ready! As much as I love Costco and shopping there, this is a bad review. Stopped by on as I needed a years supply of paper towels and TP along with anything else that caught my eye. Anyways I bought some organic cauliflower and wow, that stuff was bad. IE spoiled. Turns out the expiration date was the same day I got it. Didn't look until I was home steaming it up to use as pizza crust as was thinking, damn this stuff sticks. Moving in I ran back and they wouldn't give me a newer fresher one. I'm like WTF really. It clearly meet its expiration date and was no good But apparently as I only brought the employ bad they said NOPE! So I went inside to the produce.fridge as sure enough, cases of expired cauliflower. Talked to someone at the store about it but sure they never pulled it all. Honestly, I love Costco. It's a giant warehouse style building filled with food, electronics, and clothing, all of which I can purchase in enormous quantities. What's not to love? However, there some weird deals. I would say probably look at the electronics deals pretty closely. Sometimes it's the same price--or cheaper--to buy the components of a bundle individually rather than the bundle. The meat, produce, and assorted toiletries are usually good deals, and you can find some speciality items for decent prices. And by specialty, I mean that you can find some gluten free and vegan items for less than Natural Pantry. Now onto my favorite bit of Costco--the food court. If you are on a budget, or are just looking for some plebeian pizza to satisfy that urge--the food court is for you! The pizza is super cheap, the chicken bakes are cheap and delicious, and the salads are crisp. I haven't tried the açaí bowls they just premiered yet, but they look good! If I could leave zero stars I would. Ordered a dishwasher for delivery/install, and have been chasing them for a month to try to get it. Customer service so far has all blamed the last person we spoke to, lied about leadership/ VP involvement in their logistics, blamed the weather, and then come to realize that they don't actually have anyone in our area to take up the installation contract. That took a MONTH. To compensate? They will reimburse me for the installation that I now have to arrange, even though that was part of the cost of ordering it. They have been awful awful awful. Costco is a godsend in Alaska, where prices for virtually everything you get at a grocery store are higher than lower 48 prices. It's also great for people on the peninsula and other places were grocery options are limited to stock up on necessities. Note that Visa is the only major credit card Costco accepts now, so if you don't have a Visa card you will need to pay with cash. Just get it beforehand because the ATM here in front of the customer service desk is SUPER slow. Oh, and did you know you can get large bottles of craft beer here for $5-6 each? I didn't until recently. They also have some Pacific Northwest varieties I haven't seen at any liquor stores in town. Downside is the parking lot is a disaster and difficult to get in and out of. Also the lines are always super long, but the employees do a good job. This problem might be mitigated if Costco were to open a third location in the Anchorage area. THIS REVIEW IS OF THE DIMOND PHARMACY ONLY I'm infuriated, sick and infuriated! I have a bad cough from a bad case of Brochitis my Dr. electronically sent in a couple of prescriptions one that is not transferable. First they gave me 6 pills of an antibiotic regimen that had a 28 pill fill and they ran out meaning I was going to be coming back. So they fill 1/5 of their presciptions now? Pretty pathetic. Then the RX that can't be transferred they ran out of - they triggered a fill in their system. So they said were out, call your Dr. and transfer it to a different Pharmacy. So I did to a Walgreens. I was traveling on business and I wasn't able to get to Wallgreens before I left. So when I got back on Friday I was going to pick it up at Walgreens but I called and they said they didn't have it. So I called back Costco and they said it was available and they would fill it. Okay something got lost in translation and they still had the script and said it was available. I checked on a maintenace med I get monthly and the Phamacist said it's on back order I had to ask when will it be available again? When we get it. It begged my next question are you not stocking peoples maintenance drugs these are ordered monthly by people? She said we seem to have cut back on stocking maintenance drugs. I'm almost out and this med and the pharmacist doesn't seem to give a care. So they had the rest of the antibiotic, none of the maintenance, and at least the non transferable one was going to be filled. So I thougt. This is where I said I've had it. I get there the non transferable script they said was available but it has already been filled and it was tagged as Too Soon To Refill? What, I assured them that the script wasn't filled anywhere else as I had been out of town so now I questioned did Wallgreens fill it? Costco said to call your provider we told you we didn't have any of the medicine that day. Okay so before I left I asked the pharmacist if they could call my provider and Costco's pharmacist refused because they said it must have been filled elsewhere. I'm so frustrated I headed to Wallgreens. Wallgreens looks me up, no script was ever sent ... okay no script here! Costco is denying they have the script as it says Too Soon To Fill well damn, okay got to call the Dr. It's just before 5 I'll make sure they send it to Wallgreens as we know Costco is refusing it as Too Soon To Fill and then I'll call the Provider. Provider says it was Still At Costco so my Provider calls while I'm on hold and tells Costco you hit it as attempted to fill and you still posess the script, they backed it out but then told my provider they were out of it. WAIT Costco had SAID THEY HAD IT WHEN I CALLED EARLIER and were filling it but when I got there it was Too Soon To Fill. So I was fed up ... hopefully the Drs. Office got a new script to Wallgreens while this was all going on ... I called back Wallgreens THEY did get it ... BUT THEY WERE OUT OF THE MEDICINE TOO! Not being transferable I'm stuck with a non transferable script at 2 locations and no Medicine still. Costco hung it up and misled me and told me they would be happy to transfer all my scripts out of the Dimond location arrogantly saying they didn't have to serve me! We've been members at Costco since 2000 ... what it's your fault you hung up my script! Blame Me?! All non transferable scripts - Go get the paper script if they're out like it seems many are sick and are draining local stocks so you can call and take it to a pharmacy that's got an available stock to get it filled. $4.99 rotisserie chicken. I could stop right there and would need to go no further to justify five stars. I do love Costco. I trust the qualification process put in place by the purchasers. If Costco carries it and I need it, I purchase it from them. It would burn up hours of my time to hunt down a better quality to price ratio item. I have the corporate membership which is quite a bit more expensive ($140) than the standard membership ($45) but I get 2% back on all of my purchases for the year. My refund check is usually $250-$300. There are not many businesses that have so many long-term employees. They are doing something right to keep staff around as long as they do. They are bulging at the seams ever since Sams Club shut down. It never ceases to amaze me how efficiently they manage such a large volume of customers. Tightly run ship. Great customer service. Coming here can be hazardous to my wallet. This is the one place where if I see a ginormous box of chocolates or an industrial-sized bucket of ice cream, I will throw my money down without hesitation. This place is also crowded at all hours and this is the place where I would see local political figures like Tony Knowles and some other former mayors standing in line at the registers. What really makes this place so popular are their outstanding deals on meat, dairy products, and pre-made pizzas or meals like lasagnas, shepherd's pies, meatloafs, and appetizer trays in addition to the great deals you can get by grabbing lunch at the eatery up front. The combo pizza is my go-to if I want a large pizza at a cheap price. The hot dogs and their chicken bakes are among the best deals in town for the portions and very filling afterwards. However, the cheapest way to have lunch here is by eating every free sample given to you as you're walking around the store. I usually don't buy things in bulk but I can't pass up a good deal on a huge box of 17 Pepperoni Hot Pockets for work lunches at less than $10.00. This is also the one place I would consider buying electronics like a laptop or a flat-screen TV before going to Best Buy just to compare prices. I really wish they had a section for TV shows on DVD. With their prices on DVDs, this would be a good excuse for me to buy in bulk without having to wait for weekly specials to start at other stores every Tuesday. read more
