I only go because my parent's have a membership and it's easier to buy toiletries in bulk when I come home to visit. I also go for the amazing free samples and you can't beat $1.50 for a huge beef hot dog and a drink. But as a student, it's not within my budget to actually shop here. However, if you have a family or if you love to cook a lot, then Costco will be like heaven for you but hell on your wallet. Buying toothpaste, soap and lotion set me back $50. Granted this will last me months, but spending that much for only 3 items does put things in perspective. This location is new and it seems like there is a lot of development happening in Brandywine, which is great for southern MD, but 301 traffic can be the worst sometimes so you've been warned. P.S. The workers here are ALWAYS helpful, attentive, and friendly. I had a few problems with my membership card not working and they were always super patient and efficient while trying to figure out the problem. One time, I forgot to use a gift certificate I received from Costco (I can't remember why/how I received it... but who questions free money??). I had shown the certificate at the beginning of the transaction, but by the end, both of us had forgotten. I started walking off with my goods and she called me back to apply the certificate, give me money back and made sure everything was done right even though there was a line of people there. This lamb loves this Costco, despite the fact they sell the carcasses of my species for nutritional value. This lamb was scared they could get poached for going in the warehouse, since they sell ovine meat. There are plenty of great plant based nutritional items that this lamb can graze on too, so props to Costco for thinking of the ovines when stocking the store. It was pleasant that this lamb was left alone to do their shopping. The apples this lamb took home to the flock were outstanding! Costco is amazing best deals if you shop smart (house hold items/cleaning supplies) This location also has the cheapest price on gas usually but around 10 cents. And if you haven't tried it everyone should learn what a chicken bake is but don't forget to ask for the Cesar salad dressing on the side, otherwise you won't get it and that makes it. read more

My experience with this location is usually good, but today was terrible. I ordered a combo pizza and never received it after waiting 30 minutes. I asked about it after 15 minutes and was told "still working on it." After 30 minutes, I asked again and was given the same response. I ended up getting a refund from customer service. Two big issues: 1) There are not enough individuals working at the food counter and 2) the server saw me waiting and never asked what I was waiting for or what my number was. He never asked for another combo either. He really didn't seem to care about the time or the order. Customer service gave me a refund, but only after I asked. read more

I love this Costco especially the customer service department. Ken needs to be promoted, when I had my knee surgery a few months ago, he went above and beyond with helping me. They can't tell the difference between two white people do they harass me for my Costco identification membership card and they wouldn't leave me alone. Now how do I follow up with this? We have been shopping at this Costco for about 10 years they are always fantastic. Great customer service, store is clean and well stocked, snack bar is always awesome, and it is generally not too crowded unlike many other Costcos I have been in. Normally wouldn't write a review for Costco, but stumbled upon Mike D's and I just wanted to put a shout out to Brandywine Costco because I think they are fantastic! The place is hardly ever crowded and the customer service is excellent. The place is clean and bright and effecient. The parking lot is excellent (compare that with other Costcos in the area - this one wins hands down). I enjoy my trip there. The one negative I find compared to other Costcos is that the flowers are not as nice/already full bloomed. I'm nit picky, I know. Lastly, it's proximity to standard stores like Target and Safeway make this shopping trip always worthwhile and you're able to cross everything off your list each time. Well two years later and Costco turned into a Costco. It's on par with every other Costco I've been to, even if the cashiers are less than thrilled to be there. But in this economy, they should be thankful they have the job,and I have the money to spend. Otherwise, They'd be out of work..I'd still have my money though :-) Overall don't expect more than you would at any other store. Costco is like home away from home. Sure you get samples of tasty offerings, extremely affordable fuel, and good deals on food, beverages, and cleaning products (as well as everything else) but also this Costco in particular is very friendly. I've been to most Costco's in the DMV and this one is the best. Also, Costco in general, is very attentive to their consumer's suggestions. They introduced organic bouillon two weeks after I realized that all the ones they had in stock had MSG and wrote a suggestion card about it. read more

I could not find Costco gas on here. The guy that opens us incredibly rude and was berating me for not pulling to the first pump. I got there around 0555 and they open at 0600 and I pulled in to the first pump. The machine was on but I didnt realize that the pump was still locked. He said I should pull to the front. It's a good Costco. The employees don't look miserable. They are friendly, remember your name, smile and try to make your shopping experience as pleasant as possible. Which, quite frankly, in Southern Maryland, only happens at Costco. Everywhere else, it's like you're visiting a plantation circa 1760. So you just know that Costco treats it's employees slightly better than say wMart . Love them for that. read more

This Costco is a step above most Costcos. It is really clean and the employees are usually very friendly. The gas station is a real perk as well. Unfortunately, they do not have a car wash like the Costco in the part of California where I used to live. I don't know where most of you are coming from talking about the staff is friendly. I found the staff here horrid. I had an incedent at the checkout counter and the manager couldn't care less. She didn't try to fix the situation at all. I hate to say it but....we as a people are our own worst enemies. You would think that in a predominantly black area that we would treat each other with a little more respect. Customer service in southern PG County and Charles County....is just the worst. Some chicken head checkout girl...and I'm calling her a girl because a woman wouldn't act like she did...I guess she was having a bad day...decided she didn't want to check me out. So she shooed me to another register next to hers where another cashier was signing on. So I'm placing my items on the belt...and this dude is looking at me with his face all screwed up..like I was doing some thing wrong. So I told him look.....why the hell you looking at me like that? The girl cashier next to you told me to come here! If you got a problem with it talk to her. Well he proceeds to count his money draw while I was standing there. The girl cashier that originally sent me to him.....we'll she's done checked out 2 more people. So ofcourse I let him have it.....and this fool wants to argue with me. Well by then I'm taken aback.....so I ask for the manager. She comes over with this...."now what face".....listened to what happened.....and tells me..... she'll talk to him. I knew now that I was dealing with what I call..... blackish behavior.......and that I wasn't going to waste anymore of my time on these fools. It hurt me to my heart that I got treated like that by my own people. This is why....I hate going to Waldorf....Brandywine or anywhere around there for services. It's a damn shame that I have to go to Alexandria.....or across the bridge to Virginia to get decent customer service. Black people......we got ta do better!!!!!! read more

Saturday Costco closes at 6pm. I got there at 6.02, the door was still open. The guy let me in. My husband parked the car and walked in at 6.07, they still let him in. I ordered a whole pizza, they made it for me. I was able to get most of the things on my shopping list. They didn't actually start telling people to get out of the store till 6:40. Workers are nice, produce is great. Churros are wonderful too. This is the first place I was in that let me into the store after it was closed and I was still able to get most of the things I needed. Great samples on the weekends,but they don't abide by corporates return policies. I tried to return a pie that wasn't fully baked and the obese white manager on duty Sundays refused it because I only had 30% of the pie!and she required at least 50. I had a receipt and threatened to cancel the membership. She didn't care and I cancelled. read more
