Very disappointed with my experience. The employee checking receipts at the exit, Mary, ignored our friendly greeting and spoke to us in a rude, demanding tone when asking to scan the items on the bottom of our cart. I understand everyone has difficult days, but there's no excuse for treating customers with disrespect. It wasn't what she asked--it was how she spoke to us. A little courtesy and professionalism go a long way. I hope BJ's addresses this so other members have a better experience. read more

On occasion, I will travel to different warehouses because I've learned that they have different items that aren't always online. I have been able to locate things that I can't find at my neighborhood locations, which is pretty cool. The staff are available if needed, and you they mover pretty fast at checkout. To I had went to BJ's Wholesale today and had such a great experience! The store was clean, well-stocked, and easy to shop through, but the highlight of my trip was Mrs. Mary at checkout. She was absolutely amazing, upbeat, and rocking her Redskins gear with pride! She made the whole checkout process quick, smooth, and enjoyable. Not nearly as much variety or as interesting as Costco, but a great option, especially for gas. Costco has more meat, wine/beer, electronics, food demonstrators and pretty much everything else but BJs has these Angus meatballs that I love. Great for spaghetti and when you otherwise don't wanna make your own. They're frozen - and LARGE. The electronics department is decent.... particularly for flat screens. They have the usual optometrist and pharmacy, frozen foods, produce, bakery, small book section, even smaller appliance section, some seafood and of course, the rotisserie chicken. The rotisserie birds used to be seasoned but like most places these days, they seem more interested in quantity over quality, so they just push them out - average at best. BJs is alright. It's like Costco's little stepbrother. The memberships are comparable so go to Costco if you can. Come here for gas and meatballs. read more

The only reason I ever went to this location was its convenience. After my interaction with a staff member today, I'm 100% letting my membership expire and never coming back. Upon entering today (Tuesday 21 Feb. 2023), I noticed they had those alarm things at the entrance/exit that go off if you try to leave with an item without paying for them (I forget what these things are called) and figured they were no longer checking receipts. This is not true but that's on me. Upon leaving got flagged down by an employee to check my receipt because I had incorrectly assumed they were no longer doing so. Instead of simply just telling me they needed to check my receipt this employee proceeded to rip my receipt outta my hand and proceed to talk down to me like I'm a child who doesn't know better in saying "don't EVER do that again". If I hadn't just been talked down to in such a way after having my receipt being ripped outta my hands, I'd be more than happy to have a conversation with this employee. Speaking to customers in such a way is unacceptable and is 100% not the way to talk to people. I will certainly never be coming back to this location or to BJ's as a whole read more

The return department runs "Store credit" scam. When you are returning something they will tell you that they can give you only store credit and will hand you a blank card with no money on it. Again, Do not take store credit from this location as they will give you a "store credit" card with no money on it. Also the return department casher was addressing me "Mister Z", a first later of my first name. I believe it's probably acceptable in some kindergartens located in a hood. But I don't think it's good way to address customers, when you don't even have to address customer by name, especially if you can't pronounce his last name. read more

We shop here often and normal the restrooms are in pretty bad shape. Today is the first time I have used them when they were actually clean. The prices at BJ's are better then most grocery store, but as with other discount clubs you typically have to buy large quantities or bulk. The staff for the most part is friendly and helpful. There have been exceptions to that statement now and then. The checkout lines are typically long and slow moving. This is a good place to gas up your car as the fuel prices are relatively low for the area. read more

I should have known better to go to this location. Had an online order placed and had a pickup time scheduled. Pull in and try to call to let them know what pickup spot I am in. You can not reach anyone for this by calling the club, so then had to go through the app. Do that and wait 20 minutes before even seeing an associate come out. The person walked around aimlessly and I saw he had my small amount of groceries on his cart. As I tried to get his attention he went back in with the groceries. Saw where they charged and said my groceries had been delivered even as that had not happened. I left and put in a dispute on the card. If you are a crap store such as Waldorf, that is reality. Don't even offer the same services as other clubs to make up for this. I would rather a company not even try than to offer a service they can not support. read more

I went to this BJ's in Waldorf on May 3rd, 2023. I went to the deli department to purchase items and it was dark. I'm standing there looking around when the lady that was handing out samples came up to me and said the deli department was at lunch, this was at 1:35 pm. I went to the front and asked an associate to speak with a manager about this. She called the manager on a walkie talkie and the manager said they would be open in approximately 15 minutes. (The manager didn't have the decency to address the question her self). This was so ridiculous, by now at 2:20 pm, the deli department still hadn't opened and people were milling around trying to figure out what was going on. Long story short, I got tired of waiting and left. This should not have happened! read more

the gas is a good price, plenty of parking. New carts. I've found that veggies and meats are fresh and reasonably priced. The folks offering samples are typically helpful. Deli staff has always been good. I've never ordered from the bakery so I have no review of that. The car maintain staff are not the friendliest but they got the work done well. They were mostly aggravated with people coming in with no appointment. I guess they need to let people know that they aren't staffed for drop in business. Service desk has always been pleasant to deal with. I've not used their eye glass service so I cannot review that. read more

I went to BJ's a few months ago to renew my membership and to take a few people off of my account. I did the above and went back to the store to buy some gas and my account was closed. I went inside to customer service and was told that my account was closed and a refund was issued. I stayed calm and asked who closed my account. I was told that one of the two peolpe that I asked to be removed closed it and received a gift card in the account of the renewal fee. I called the Corp office and was told it is nothing that they can do. Why is that? Becareful dealing with BJ's. It amazes me that a person that you dropped from your account can come into the store and cancel your membership and on top of that get a refund of the money that you paid to renew it. I will NEVER go there again and hope that the nezt person that do business with them read this warning before you open an account. read more

I recently used BJ's Instacart delivery services and wanted to warn anyone using this service that if you have problems with your delivery order, BJ's WILL NOT assist you in any way to resolve your problem. Visited a BJ's for the first time this past weekend. They had a free 60 day trial membership so my husband and I took advantage of the deal. The prices on produce, canned and paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) seemed to be the best deal they offered. I wasn't blown and the store lacks the "wow" factor of Costco and even Sam's Club. You get the full warehouse shopping experience. Because I've been spoiled by shopping at Costco; by comparison BJ's is definitely a down grade. I don't see myself buying a membership but I will take advantage of the 60 day trail to my full advantage. read more

Online customer service would get a negative 1, the two stars is because the store itself is not bad I always find what I need. I contacted customer service about an online order and was told that I needed to go to the nearest store to have my problem resolved...no biggie. My problem is the customer service rep who was extremely rude and condescending for no reason. I was never rude to the young lady however she treated me horribly after my $500 order goes missing. I sat and waited for the survey that I agreed to participate in after I completed my call, it never came. I will not be renewing my membership, I will return to Costco and live happily ever after. read more

BEWARE of the coupon police. It's beyond belief that our membership is 100$ and i get harassed when i shop here. KARA is a horrible associate she gives falsified information. My sister and i shopped here a few hours ago and upon checkout a lady checks all the coupons not realizing they have a UPC / Serial code. If i scanned the same 3$ off coupon 9 times and others 7 or 8 times my total wouldn't be 175$ lol... never mind that. Kara pointed me out to other staff and was harassing me. I asked for her name she told me it was Jenny wendy. The manger gave me her real name. I'm currently filing complaints with the corporate office and others. My whole family and friends are. Others have had issues with her from word of mouth. A lot of the people behind the member services desk are rude and rather lackadaisical. read more

Terrible customer service and management. Went there to exchange an item for my employer and they couldn't help me because I wasn't a member. I was attacked by 3 people behind the counter blurting out that this is a 'membership club' and I shouldn't even be in here without a membership card. I returned the next day with my boss's card and was denied the exchange AGAIN since the card holder wasn't there. The 'manager' behind the counter wouldn't give me her position, business card, and told me there wasn't an 800 # for me to call and complain about the lack of service I was provided. She was very rude and condescending (guess it was time for a cigarette break. In the 15 minutes I was there I observed 3 or 4 employees walk out on cigarette breaks) When I asked her for the info she said " You're not even a member" and refused to give me any of her info. I have to update my review. The main reason is because I go here several times a month, since i said before, they carry organic food. However, 2 of those times they had a terrible smell in the back, by the bakery all the way to the meat section, it literally smelt like a sewer! It was rather nasty. A few times after that, they had leaking pipes! It was so nasty. One particular time, I had stopped in, to grab lunch meat, and there was water leaking from the ceiling pipes, it got on my spouse' shirt! How nasty! There was water spilled on the floor in several locations. I am seriously disgusted with this place. read more

Never again will I come to this BJ's. The customer service is horrible. On this visit I decided to use the curbside pickup option and when I arrived my order was still being processed according to the app..... Ok, not a problem, I will wait. I called the customer service line and inquired about my order because in the past I have found when it says " processing" that in actuality it's "ready" and before I could even get out my question, ..the lady attempts to talk over me about checking in through the app. I politely said ma'am I have been to other BJ's and used curbside pickup and have never had a problem calling to inquire or check on my order... and normally I am told it's ready and have a friendly associate bring my items to me. So again, the woman continues to say Check the app and was unwilling to look up my order. I asked for the manager because of her rude attitude and waited 10 mins for a manager to pickup. Unacceptable! At this point I just cancelled my order and placed it at another BJ's. I really hope someone in management reviews this message and actually coach and train your employee on the importance of customer service. read more

Hubby and I hit up the BJ's in waldorf for the "little bit of everything" experience. I am a vegan he is not! He loves the meat section, we both love the fruits and veggies, not to mention the spice section, and I love the clothing section. Just yesterday I bought several yoga shirts (fantastic price and fit), and a pair of mid calf yoga pants (great fit)... IN all this location is great for us and we love checking out everything! we recommend it for everyone! read more

The bakery needs serious rework with staff. I ordered two sheets cakes and 100 cupcakes by phone and went to pick it up when they said it would be ready. They had two sheet cakes and no cupcakes. The sheet cakes were to have our party theme written across and it was seriously misspelled beyond repair. I was very upset as we put in the order weeks ago and spelled everything out on the phone. The lady who took the order said she had some problems hearing and that's why it was wrong. It still didn't make up for the missing order. read more

Hey it's BJ's what did you expect? Actually, this place is ok. I grew up with COSTCO, and prefer it, but don't feel like spending 90 mins in Beltway traffic to get to one, so BJ's is 15 mins away from me. I do like the frozen food selection and the seasonal section always has something I need. The fresh veggies leaves much to be desired, but if you need a head of lettuce or something simple, they usually have it. I've never had to return anything so I can't talk about customer service. Never had tires put on my car there either, but I would imagine that it's as lethargic as any other place in Waldorf. Seriously, if you've been here any length of time you know what I mean, nobody is in any rush to do anything, but man they sure drive like that have to be someplace. Sorry, got off the topic. I usually buy motor oil, frozen foods ,it's the only place I can get good Portuguese rolls. Hmm...odd. Anyway, not a bad place for the membership fee. read more

My husband and I shop at BJ once a month and each time we had to return chicken and beef purchases because of being spoiled. Customer service is very bad especially a staff person who checks your receipt upon exit. She is very unprofessional and abrasive. The store is not clean and checkout lines are always long. We used to be members here when we first moved into the area. Sadly, we never renewed our membership and prefer Costco down in Brandywine.The customer service and friendliness that you encounter at Costcos is not to be found here. The main issue is the lack of fresh produce and meats here. Pretty disgusting actually. If they do have some fresh items it is hit or miss. One time I wanted to buy some bagged broccoli florets on the weekend. Well, almost EVERY bag they had in stock had pieces that were rotten. Just unacceptable. I can understand at the end of the weekend a few bags here and there but just about 99% of them? Only thing I prefer is the croissants here for breakfast.The place has an unkept feel to it and you just feel miserable walking around there. Take the extra 10 minutes on Crain to go to Costcos or even Sams Club. read more

I really like going to BJ's to get some of the things I need for my house! I used to really really love it until I noticed something GROSS! Every time I have gone there in the last year when I am done unpacking everything I just bought with in 10 minutes of getting the stuff put away I notice a bug running over some of the stuff. The most recent time I went I got a case a water and some other minor things, within ten minutes of bringing it into the house I found a bug crawling out of the water and onto my counter! I will be canceling my membership asap! I will not let my home become a bug house just so I can shop at this one store! read more

This BJ'S has a very small section of organic fruits and vegetables. The BJ'S in Bowie has an entire stand alone refrigerator designated to organic fruits and it is large and located in the center of the aisle. I can't figure out why they refuse to so the same at the Waldorf BJs. I've asked continuously. The never have a decent amount of organic products and it is slim pickings but that is not the issue at the Bowie store. The organic selection at the Bowie store is impressive and at the Waldorf store it is embarrassing. read more

If you are looking for fresh produce and meats this is the not place for you. Some days I go and they are out of spinach and grapefruit. When I asked a worker about the grapefruit he went to the back and came back with a bag. Why was it not out for the customers? The seafood section is nonexistent. The checkout lines are long and the employees are unprofessional. They have personal conversations at the register that would be better left for their break or after work. After my membership expires I will toss convenience to the side and make the drive to Costco. read more
