This location is a bit of a drive for us from Summerville, but totally worth it! The wine selections are awesome and reasonably priced. Occasionally hubby and I will find some nice Prime steak selections, hard to find and sought after coffee beans and the seasonal flannels that are fire We spend hours here and it's basically a date for us to walk through all the aisles to see what's new. We go to the Mt pleasant Costco regularly for a specific list of food items. High quality and great prices. We have grandchildren with us frequently so large size containers are not an issue. The store is clean and well organized. Recently purchased a set of 4 Michelin tires and had them installed. A fair price and no issues. we buy our gas there whenever in the area. read more

Always things on sale, which is lower than the usual low Costco price. Today what I noticed was toothpaste (5 pack). all batteries, AA, AAA, 9 volt and more. I went in to buy Kirkland (the Costco brand) toilet paper and paper towels, but ended up spending $123.00.If you spend less than a $100, then you didn't pick up three bottles of wine, the new John Grisham book and such, like I did today. The clothes are always stacked neatly as they have one or two people going around and doing nothing but straightening them up. Of course the Christmas decorations, toys for the kids are out, as they seemingly were out when the Halloween 7 foot tall skeletons were out also. It's not shopping, but an adventure! read more

I love Costco in general and believe it's one of the best retailers around. They have a ton of great products, competitive pricing, and they're a just a good company in general. The company pays their employees well and has good benefits. They also provide a very good warranty for any product purchased at the store, I always prefer to make my big purchases here (such as refrigerator, bed, etc.). The West Ashley location is kind of a mad house. The parking lot, while quite large, is still a pain to get in and out of. The aisles are always packed and the food court almost never has seats available. This Costco is just really really popular, and they probably need another one in the area nearby. In contrast, the Mt Pleasant Costco always has tons of parking and is much more pleasant to shop at. The drive to Mt Pleasant is a bit too long for me so I still end up going to the West Ashley one most of the time. Overall I'm a huge fan of Costco as a business. This particular location is over crowded but it's still a Costco so it's solid. I hope they will consider adding another Costco in North Charleston or somewhere nearby to alleviate the congestion in the West Ashley location. read more

Absolutely love Costco. The standard of items is very high and I'm always very happy with the product. Whether it's furniture, clothing, or food, it's always great. Saturday morning in the West Ashleigh Costco is quite busy to say the least. Every single aisle was busy and the lines went halfway deep into the store, with about at least 10 to 12 people in every single checkout counter. This is probably a good problem to have, but be advised, it's probably best to not go there over the weekend if it can be helped. There was barely any parking available. Always love it at the club! Costco always has its shelves fully stocked with the essentials and I love walking down the middle to find new items. The bakery has great fresh baked items and love when they have samples out. This location is always packed and the parking lot is smaller than others I've gone to. Love Costco, don't love Costco on a Saturday at Noon however lol. This location was well stocked, despite the high customer traffic. There are 4 kiosks at the food court but the process is disorganized with no designated waiting area for customers therefore creating a gaggle of people just standing everywhere. So happy to see there's still a book section with lots of options!! Some Midwest locations have done away with the books completely. Self checkout was seamless and the associate wiped off the scanning area without me having to ask (previous customer had wet food items and I had clothes). Love costco! We drive all the way down from Goose Creek to come here (I wish they had one near us). It's always busy, but you can find off times to come when it's not so bad. Usually on the weekday , anything but Saturday or Sunday. Parking lot is huge , we've never had trouble finding parking even during prime hours. We even came here at 559pm right before close on a Sunday and they let us in lol. The store has a huge selection of everything. Decor, meats, seafood, wine, beer. With hundreds of check-ins and photos, I've been a dedicated Costco member for years. Even as a two-person household, we renew every year with no hesitation. As a whole, Costco merchandise has always been a good value, but in recent years, the clothing has gotten more stylish. My husband recently bought new dress pants from Costco, and the pants look like department store style and quality. The clothes also work for Charleston- they carry a lot of dri-fit or golf styles for the hot weather. I purchased tires from Costco a few years ago, and the tires have a guarantee with free patches. If a tire must be replaced, the price is prorated. Occasionally, my air pressure is low in the winter, and Costco has installed two self-serve Nitrogen tire pumps at the back of the store for easy filling. We recently booked a vacation package with Costco travel. We booked three nights in a hotel and a rental car through Costco, with a rate cheaper than what a hotel would ordinarily cost (we basically got the car rental for free and still saved). I'm not sure if all the deals are that good, but if you're already a member, it's worth checking when planning a vacation or trip. The service even sets a travel alert for your Costco Citi card for your trip dates. Inside the store, there's self-checkout, and the staff keep those lines moving quickly. You can also order from the food court through a self-serve kiosk. If you're stuck in the food court or store for awhile (waiting on a tire repair or prescription), you can even hop on the free wifi now. Working for Costco is truly a career. This store has incredibly low employee turnover, especially for retail. The associate who sold us a membership ten years ago processed our return the other day. Some workers started when Costco opened in 2001 and their badges reflect the year they started. Costco's had a few changes over the last few years, but it's all been positive. We'll shop here as long as we're in Charleston and Costco's in Charleston. read more

I interacted with two employees and both were surprisingly unfriendly considering Costco is known as being a good company to work for (I expect grumpy employees at Walmart, not here?). Otherwise, it's a Costco and it had pretty much all the qualities I love and dislike about Costco warehouses! The gas discount isn't really stellar. Gas prices are similar to North Charleston. Must be related to the locality taxes for Charleston. West coast Costcos have sushi, which would be great, but still waiting for it here. The employees are always friendly and the even though it gets busy everything seems to flow well If you plan on or end up spending $250 or more a month, if pays to opt up for the executive membership for the 2% cash back. 11-2-24 5pm Was excited to see when we entered that they will close on Saturday at 7pm instead of 6pm. I asked at check out and was told they only do this at the holidays. Anyway was thankful as had to pick up a couple of items and didn't want to be rushed. Nothing interesting this trip other than I have never been to this location. Pretty much the same as the others nothing out of the ordinary. Hubby felt it was smaller than the one in Pooler, GA as it had less laptops. I noticed it had less jewelry as I always like to look. It was pretty fast check out no lines and I got stamps while I was there. You have to go to the customer service desk to pick up. I got Flags and since they come in quantities of 100 I will have plenty for years. Definitely might reconsider having a membership as now it is only the two of us we don't spend as much as we used to. Went to this location and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Literally like going to a mall for adults as you look through all the unique things that they have to sell and don't forget the best deal in Charleston with the $1.50 drink and a hot dog! Bought a pizza for the kids for about 10 bucks which close their mouths for a few minutes. It was the only positive thing to spending $200 in 5 minutes. We enjoy Costco. They have some staple items that our family uses a lot - dog food and treats topping that list. Our dogs love them, the price is fair, and they are often run special savings deal, so we get them at a lower price. The gas prices are often lower than other surrounding gas stations. The staff is usually pretty friendly & helpful. I love their muffins too. They often rotate out different items, so not everything is offered all year round, but there is likely to be something similar available. Their pizza at the Cafe is also a great quick, cheap meal option. They added a new "self-service" ordering station, which has made the process of placing your food order much easier as well. read more

My only frustration about this location is that on two separate occasions I've bought fresh fruit or vegetables, gone home, and opened it up to find mold. Always happy when we shop at Costco and sometimes we drive to Mt. Pleasant where it is not as crowded as this store. We enjoy buying good Argentinian wines, Malbecs specially at reasonable prices. Have no issues buying clothing and trying it at home, if not the right size just return and they cheerfully refund the money to the card, no questions asked. Dog food, toiletries and fresh fruit so we don't have to run to the store every week Returns are easy and even easier if you kept the receipt. Gas is not the cheapest anymore but not bad, Weekends tend to be a little busy but manageable and the only thing I don't like is that with the Costco Credit Card you get 4% back on gas purchases BUT they never agree whether it is only at Costco or any gas station and when you ask you get a different answer every time, most likely only at Costco but they tend to make you believe it is everywhere read more

What a great store! I would say we go at least once a week, whether for gas, groceries, or just to pick up a hot dog! We usually, however, buy at least something. Recently went for the optometry department. They are quite possibly the kindest, most helpful staff around. They are all so friendly and willing to get you in the right pair of glasses. Stopped by this Costco while in the area just to stock up on alcohol for the holidays. Having the ABC store separate from the main store made it super quick and easy to pick up a bunch of libations at a reduced price. Even during COVID-19 this place is a staple, but I still need regular grocery stores. The trucks arrive without merchandise here. Looking for merchandise is a long hunt and when there is no wanted merchandise (seaweed)- I get very disappointed. The whole trick of starting with a hotdog and soda for $1.50 is back- with free refills on the soda, but I have kidney disease. Buying in bulk is not the problem. Finding alternatives to the bulk items is. Where else can I get reasonably priced seaweed? At least they offer snacks during my hunt if I go before 5 pm. read more

Went to 3059 AshleyTown Center Dr Costco yesterday. I bought two new empty propane tanks at Costco and was planning to have them filled there. It is unacceptable that this store has shut down their refill center. I asked an employee why? He said their equipment breaks down all the time and "they don't make any money selling propane. Wow ! Costco is raising your membership fee and discontinuing service such as propane refills. They have raised their prices too high and now they are discontinuing services here such as propane refills which were a perk of membership! read more

Office supplies, audio/visual equipment, seasonal items, bulk groceries, pharmaceuticals, an optical shop with available Optometrist...and car car. The place is typically crowded except for late in the day, and I find it best to shop mid-week. Great selection of fresh meats & seafood, as well as prepared items. Beer, wine and a liquor store to boot. The snack bar is still available but you must "take out" your purchase for consumption due to COVID reduction efforts, but still a real bargain. Other COVID precautions in place include required masks, frequent sanitizer use, and glove use by employees. read more

When it comes to big wholesale clubs in the area, this one takes the cake! The items at the front entrance always delay me in getting what I initially came for... There's usually some pretty good deals and things you just can't live without, I tell ya. For work, I buy monthly birthday cakes here and a half sheet cake (with mousse layer in the middle) is under $20. What a steal. We also have a Sweet Shoppe in our office for staff and I buy the chips, chocolate, popcorn, etc from here. Great pricing for items in bulk. Paper products for office luncheons come in handy on a regular basis, too. If you owned a restaurant, you could get your to-go containers and condiments for a deal. My complaint about this place is that it is always so busy and the parking lot is a nightmare. The prices are good enough that I stay the course however. After being told I could pay for a jewelry item in any line at all I waited in line for twenty minutes only to be told to go get in another line because the lady that oversees that line couldn't handle the check out slip ? It took me an hour to pay for the thing. The employees talk to you like you're lucky to be in that store it's weird. Extremely unprofessional customer service.
