Filling up the rental car in San Diego, California... The gasoline level was about a quarter tank and we had time, so we fueled up at Costco Gasoline. Costco's prices are usually below retail prices. This one was no exception. There were two pumps per line and many lines... too many to count quickly. The only thing to watch out for is the entrance. The line for gasoline is not the regular entrances. It's an unmarked driveway with roped off lanes. Proceed with caution! read more

I used to stop at this Costco gas station on my way back to the office after morning meetings downtown. It's conveniently located just east of I-15 on Market Street, one exit south of CA-94. Gasoline prices used to be lower here than at Costco gas stations in Poway or Carmel Mountain. This Costco is conveniently located off the freeway. This was my first time here. There's is apparently only one way into the gas station. All the other routes are blocked with cones and barriers. It's a bit of a pain trying to figure out how to get in. There wasn't a line to get gas. People driving in are reckless. read more

Gas is gas. Likes are never too long and all pumps work as they should. Rain or shine, getting gas is not a problem since they have overhead coverings. Service is available for those who need it and as requested. Price is low due to volume but I have seen cheaper at other stations, just depends on what is going on in the petroleum world. We used to think Costco gas runs out quickly but have learned it really is good gas and actually cheaper than most of the has stations, well compared fo Shell for us. So the gas and price is great! The only thing is waiting in the long lines. My husband has figured out best times to go are early morning when they open or right before they are going to close to avoid those long lines even though the hoses will reach both sides luckily so sometimes it goes fast. 'My husband tries to go before work and beat those early morning crowds but was disappointed when the website and Costco app all said 530a they open and he was there until 6a and they finally opened. He wasn't the only one because a few people were there but couldn't afford to wait until they decided to open, not knowing it would be 30mins later than advertised. A little disappointing, hopefully Costco can update their time accurately from now on. read more

Some of the cheapest gas near downtown. Thankful for GPS instructions for how to find this location, since we aren't from the area. It's a large gas station, and at 8:00 at night on a Thursday they were still pretty busy. Still, we got in and out fairly quickly and were ready for the rest of the weekend ahead. We did a fair amount of driving around San Diego over four days, and this location was near enough to where we were staying downtown to be convenient. Sooo it's definitely great for the cheap gas ($3.93 for regular as of 8/2021) but be prepared to wait. This Costco has 8 lanes but there are only 2 pumps per lane. Also, there really isn't enough real estate for all of the cars so the line resembles the In-N-Out drive thru, wrapped around the block. First off, the evening after 7p must be the best time to come through. No line out to the street as usual. They're located on gateway off market st, signs direct you to the area & the process seems to work. 6min wait for a pump and all were busy. Premium 91 grade is $6.19 15 gal = ran me $94. A week ago I filled up for $115 at chevron on college & university Ave @ $6.99 per gal . Feels like the has doesn't last as long all of a sudden. Anyone else? I mean seems peculiar. Well they finally redid the gas area for a 2nd time and took out all the obstructive island that prevents for a smooth flow. There is still room for improvement but they have made quite some progress. This gas station is always packed (sometimes the line's are out to the street at 7 am!) Very slow on Monday mornings. People are not sure which line to go into because there are no attendants guiding them like at the Mission Valley location. I had a person literally cut me in line because she was lined up incorrectly in the lane. A location as busy as this one should require that the attendants guide cars to lanes open or about to become open. Take a lesson from Mission Valley location and implement that solution. read more

This one isn't my favorite location as they only have 2 pumps per lane as compared to 3 or 4 at other locations. I just feel like Costco should have a minimum of 3 pumps per lane when building as they have enough real estate to provide that many pumps. This location people never go to the left in lanes 1-4 or 5-8 and that definitely makes the lines longer than need be. It is great that the staff is directing cars as this one isn't updated with sensors but there is no directing traffic closer to the divide. Its Costco so gas is cheaper than most other gas stations. During Quarantine, the employees were regularly wiping down the handles and stations. If you have a little more time to sit and wait, then this location is for you. I don't believe I have ever come during a "down" time like I get at other locations, could be due to the smaller gas station size and there is always customers. It is somewhat conveniently located off highway 15 right before getting on the 94 or heading back to the 5. The lights/ people are hectic during rush hour. read more

I made an appointment for 3:15 to have balance and inflation of tires (purchased from Costco 3 months prior) checked. They didn't get my car in at appointment time and it took 2 HOURS!!! Also, the female technician, Lulu, was very rude and treated me as if I was a bother rather than a customer. I should have gone to the Costco by my home rather than this one by my work. Lines... lines... and more lines. So it's common knowledge that the box wholesale store sells everything in bulk but I guess you can't expect them to sell petrol or gasoline in bulk. Costco do have lower prices compared to the other gasoline stations. The quality is good that I can't tell the difference when I am driving. Expect to save a few bucks in on a full tank of gas. Do expect long lines for the few extra bucks of savings. I say if you just need to top off it's not worth the wait... however if you are almost empty then I saw it's worth the wait... every penny of it. read more

This Costco location is easily accessible from the Market Street off ramps of the I-15 or the I-805. You have to enter their northernmost driveway on Gateway Center Drive if you wish to fill your vehicle with gas. The other driveway to the south, and the driveway off of Market Street will give you access to Costco Wholesale's parking lot, but it will take a lot of parking lot navigation to get to the gas line entrance. This Costco location only has 16 pumps (2 per lane) versus other locations which have 22-24 pumps. If the lines are long, it can take a little longer than other locations which have 6-8 more gas pumps since more vehicles can be filled per hour in each lane with an extra gas pump. PROS: Easy access to the I-15 and I-805 freeways, this Costco is not as trafficked as say both Chula Vista locations or Mission Valley, there's a Burger King with drive-thru if you need to grab a bite and you're in a hurry. CONS: Only 2 pumps per lane (versus 3 at many other Costco gas stations). All in all, this is one of our go-to spots to fill-up! Costco gas station attendants have always been helpful for anything members have needed. A solid 4 star Yelp review for this location. read more

Costco gasoline has the best prices in town. This location has 16 pumps that are always available. You need to have a Costco membership and a credit card/debit card to purchase this gas. No Cash Purchases. People are always here in line to buy gas but the lines move fairly quickly. This station is clean and maintained well. The Costco staff member that works in this area is generally friendly. The entrance to this gas station is awkward and you should use care when pulling into it because other cars are also pulling in. The have long hoses so you can gas up on either side of your car and they have good hours of operation. Mon-Fri 5:30am-9:30pm, Sat. 6:00am-8:00pm and Sunday 6:00am-7:30pm. read more

Costco has the best prices for gas about 90% of the time. This Costco is in a great location between 805 and 15. This gas station can have very long lines. The lines seem even longer now that Costco has changed the layout of the lines wrapping around the gas station. This now causes problems with people trying to park and trying to exit. Each row of pumps has two pumps and the hoses are long enough so you can pull up to either side of the pump. I used to think Mission Valley was the worst but now this Costco is the worst for gas. If it wasn't for the bad line layout this gas station would have 4 star. read more
