Stopped by to ask for some air because my tire pressure was low. The attendant told me I had to get gas first. I explained I already had a full tank but was happy to buy a water bottle and some gum instead. Still, the attendant--locked behind the glass--said no, only gas. Unbelievably bad experience at this gas station. I didn't buy gas, but I was under the impression you didn't have to in order to get air and water--guess I was wrong. Still, who actually denies someone air and water? It's such a basic thing to provide, especially for safety. The man working there was rude on top of it, like I was asking for something outrageous. This gas station is always stocked very well with snacks and drinks. I like their wide selection of whatever I am craving. It's located right at the entrance and exit of the 163 Freeway downtown, making it super convenient. The customer service is great and the workers seem to want to genuinely help. There are a number of homeless customers but they don't cause any problems to anyone, just getting in to get their items for purchase then on their way. I return frequently as it the most convenient option with parking to grab a snack, drinks, or gas. read more

The location is close by, so I often find myself riding on basically fumes to make it here before I run into any trouble... not to say that sometimes coming here feels a bit like I'm riding into trouble as well... Why? Because sometimes this location is straight up crazy monkey knife fight level madness. People and cars are all over the place lacking order. This is a station where the homeless, drug addicts, the mentally unhinged, stressed out Yelpers clutching tightly to their hen purses, normies on their way to work, all converge on each other in a bleary morning tornado. I always make it out alive and even if I do end up seeing some things I don't want to see, there are always a good amount of choices for energy drinks to get my head back in the game. Decent gas station in a pretty good spot. It's on A and Eleventh, both of which are one way streets (if I recall). You can exit from both sides (on A) or (on Eleventh). There wasn't any traffic inside because when we went, we could choose our own pump yay. It's a good gas station to stop at because on Eleventh, the on-ramps for CA-163 and I-5 are right there, so it'll be a place you can stop at before you head out to work, to the park, or anywhere outside of downtown. It'll be on your left if you're travelling north on Eleventh and on your right if you're on A Street. Prices are around the norm for San Diego, as of December 2015. meow~ factor read more

I'm not a regular customer of any Shell Gasoline store. I find their prices to be too expensive. Although I would not be a regular customer, I am happy to have found this specific Shell. Good location in downtown San Diego. Right by the entrance to the freeway makes it very convenient. It was a lifesaver for me because I was running on fumes!! Overall, from what I saw, this is a fine Shell station. Everything was neat and orderly outside. Cannot tell you about inside because I paid at the pump. Would return here if needed. read more

Ok I don't usually fill up here just the times I am running on fumes and know I won't make it to any of my regular stations. Obviously gas prices downtown are going to be at a premium. Just paid $3.09/gallon when stations in other areas are at $2.89 but a nice touch is FREE COFFEE with fill up between 6am - 10am!!!! And that fit my timeline this morning. Pulled in, fueled up and got my cup of joe!! It was scalding hot so I didn't taste any til I got to work and boy was I surprised....IT WAS ACTUALLY GOOD COFFEE!!! Way better than the 7-11 I've been going to when I run out of coffee at home. AND you can choose any size cup!!! Small, Medium, Large and they had all the flavors of creamer!! Ive encountered 2 guys behind the counter (on 2 separate occasions) and neither were very welcoming. Not mean, just non-verbal. Maybe they aren't morning people...it was 6am for Christsake. So I'll forgive them. Haha. So aside from paying a little more for gas, the coffee made up for it and I will come back when I'm on fumes again...I mean, I do live down the street and all!!! read more

I've only ran into one wonderful woman who works at this shell. She seems to really like her job and genuinely is interested in how your day is going. Prices are expected for downtown as far as gas is concerned. No alcohol sold here but they do accept credit card. The chip machine doesn't work for your cards which isn't horrible but not amazing. read more

Convenient location next to San Diego City College. Very close to the 163 and I-5. Seems to be taken care of and is easily accessible. The lot is large enough to maneuver in and out. Prices are pretty high but I think that is the same for any Shell station. read more

I just moved to San Diego, I was faced with a flat tire and needed air badly. Having recently refuled, I did not need to purchase fuel. I asked the station attendant if she could turn on the air compressor machine for me, I was told "no" because I was not buying fuel, I informed her, I was really in a pinch, she did not care. California state law says a station must provide free air and water to paying customers. It was 2.oo$ for AIR. All she needed to do was hit a button, be kind and this gas station would receive my future business. I guess it's the businesses loss, as I will not bring any business here. read more

What is there to say?... It's a gas station. No serious complaints here as long as the gas that I pay for comes out of the pump. The gas station is located on two busy streets (A and 10th/11th) but is pretty easy to get to. There are a lot of pumps so that's nice if you're in a rush. If I were nitpicking I would say that they could certainly use a larger lobby area. The mini hallway to get to the bathroom or grab snacks is so narrow two people could hardly fit at the same time. Also, the snacks are terribly overpriced here. They do offer auto repair services but I've never used them. This gas station is useful for its most basic purposes, but I certainly would hope to find a nicer gas station if I were making a rest stop during a long drive. read more

I used to go to the Valero across the street but had to start going here because they always have issues with the pumps across the street and i don't have time to waste. I not a huge fan of this place as i have had problems in the past with the people that work here, mainly they don't seem to care about their job in any capacity. But at least the pumps work and i like that i can rely on the pumps working as they should. read more

This is by far the worst gas station. Not only are they lazy and rude here but they won't put paper in the machine so you always have to go in for your receipt. They do this because they want you to not get it so they can use them for their own taxes. They are liars and thieves here. My card got charged twice here also so be careful using your card. Great service! I stopped in after driving 12 hrs into town and noticed my tire was low. I went to the station and they said they would get right on it while I waited. I had a nail in the sidewall of my tire which is hard to fix. He couldn't fix it because I will need a new tire. He had taken time to take the tire off and try to fix it. He put it back on and didn't charge anything. They were very friendly and they showed me the tire. I realized they couln't fix it. I gave him a tip and thanked them. read more

Rundown and poorly maintained service station on the edge of downtown. The pump wasn't working at my station when I stopped here for gas recently - it kept clicking off as I was trying to pump gas, I went inside for assistance and came face-to-face with a corpulent, insouciant and rather bored-looking attendant who made it *crystal clear* to me that it just wasn't his concern or problem. This Shell Gas Station on 3425 Midway Drive, Point Loma has been my favorite and #1 gas station. We have been going them for over 6 years. They are the BEST! I always receive the best and excellent customer service from Eddie, Duvqid, Ermias, and Yousef. I really miss Faten, she use to work there- was always such a fantastic help to me. Everyone there is always polite, friendly and a great help. They always have fresh coffee or anything you need for on the go. They always keep it clean and organized.
