Finally back home to Maui's Costco after a dozen years! Not much has changed, still as massive of a store as ever! And TONS of local Hawaii goods to be had by all, in bulk quantity HA!! Nothing like than stocking up on necessities while staying in the hotels here - Hawaiian bottled water, Made in Hawaii snacks, a kanak attack serving size (or 2) of poke, slippahs, swim shorts, and maybe a momona size bag of POI? Ah Costco, unfortunately your standards are slipping in the food department, and needs some work to bring it back up to the usual Costco standards we like and expect and which Costco stores are proud of. So much food I have bought over the past 5 months has been disappointing and an expensive waste: Milk - I always buy the lowfat gallon containers and they always go off at least 4 days before the sell by date. Either the date is incorrect or the milk is not being transported at the correct heat. We tried freezing half the gallon to try to avoid this but both halves go off quickly Asparagus - every time I buy it and open it same day it is slimy and limp and inedible Peppers - 6 pack of multi coloured peppers are usually soft and mouldy when you cut into them, again transporting them without the right heat could be a cause Apples - soft and powdery inside Living on the other side of the island, over an hours drive away, means it is hard to return spoiled food/milk quickly. It is an expensive problem for us and annoying as food is already so expensive on island. Please Costco buyers and managers in Kahului, ensure your standards are being met and that customers are not buying spoiled food! read more

They have a problem with their food court. They eliminated the long line of customers that snaked back and forth when they added the bank of kiosks but they missed the point of having the kiosks. When I enter an order and pay, I get a receipt with my order number. When the staff gets my order finished, they should call my number, give me my food and we're done. Nope. I have to stand in line and give my receipt to a worker who goes off and puts it together. The difference isn't subtle. Why else would my order number be printed on my receipt. And, there is a second line for people to queue up in. It's a line for people who don't want to use the kiosk. They can order old school. They wait their turn, scan their costco membership card, tell the server what they want and pay at the window. Today, the line for people who don't want to use the kiosk was shorter than the line for those of us who used the not-so-new time saving method of ordering. Make up your mind, costco. read more

Costco is my Dads happy place. I will never understand it, but nothing lights him up like talking about a screamin deal at a grocery store. So, fresh off the Boeing 747 from LA for our family vacation to Maui, Costco was our first stop. This one is literally right next to the airport though so it was clutch... they know what they're doing. We hopped out of the white mini van rental car and stocked up on everything from ground beef to liquor to dried mangos to my Dads goto sourdough bread for our 10 day trip. Hawaii Costcos are the best! This location has everything you need for a week at the beach, from the bathing suit you forgot at home, sunscreen, boogie boards, and tasty treats and snacks for your stay, plus macadamia nuts to take home. If they have sashimi or sushi when you're in the store, get it. It's a crazy good deal for phenomenal, fresh, quality fish. We were blown away. We'd never tried Marlin sashimi and really enjoyed it. Costco is located very close to kahalui airport on Maui. This is my first stop after picking up my rental car when visiting Maui. Great member prices on many of the items that you need for your trip. Place is crazy busy. Only Costco on the island. Residents and visitors who just landed pack this place. Highlights: -Two sections of local Hawaiian delight (snacks, fruit, etc) - they also carry most of the items you buy at your local Costco - they sell beach towels, snorkeling sets (but only had small/ medium at the time) and other things you may need for adventuring - two huge racks of $20 aloha shirts. My teenage kids each got one. Great designs and comfortable - unique / local food options across the store. If you are lucky, get the Guava Sweet Roll or Guava cheesecake if they are being made that day There is also a lot of food trucks across the parking lot from the entrance. It was packed today but we went later than usual and on a Saturday too. We rarely go but we needed some essentials. They had demos which was great. A lot of prices have gone up as usual. Ground pork was $2.99/lb, ground beef was $4.99/lb i think, eggs are $5 something for the 18 pack. There's a little section with some halloween decorations out and the usual beach stuff, toys etc. Found some great deals though. Parking was chaotic as usual. The employees are always so pleasant though and fast. Its our only costco on the island so it's not like we can choose between several. We stopped by here to stock up for the week, and it's a great place to stock up on water, snacks and also buy any gifts for yourself or others. There are plenty of Hawaiian snacks you can pick from! First thing off the plane in Maui we always head to Costco. It's close to the airport and you can get most things closer to mainland prices versus in town. We stock up on water, drinks, and food for the kids. I Do want to note that this is the busiest Costco that I have ever been to. It's a huge facility and it can get very crowded. If you can walk, I recommend parking in the back. If you try to park in the front in the first few rows you may get stuck. It took us 20 minutes to get out of a logjam there once. Now we just park in the back near the gas station and it's much easier to get in and out of there. read more

IMHO Who doesn't love going to Costco, especially in Maui!!! They have many of the same staples in my area Costcos, but also offer many regional Hawaiian items. You can get beach gear, Hawaiian shirts and muumuus, poke, taro chips, macadamia nut chocolates, etc. We got sashimi, sweet potato & taro chips, a whiskey sampler, and a pretty beach lounge dress, among a few other things. Almost every article or TikTok I saw before traveling to Maui suggested making a stop at this Costco right after you land. I'm a follower so I did just that. Getting here was super convenient and close from where we picked up our rental. I've never seen a Costco with so much covered parking! We came for essentials for the week, but we also were curious to see what a Costco in Hawaii looks like. The first thing we needed and found right away was Hawaii friendly sun block. It was right there as we walked in. This Costco was set up a little different than back home, mainly because it was smaller, but the general layout was the same. We checked out the bakery and picked up guava Danishes because we definitely don't get that at home. We did not plan on doing any cooking, but the fresh seafood selection almost made us change our mind. We were also thought the fruit selection was great compared to back home. Snacks wise, we found lots of new to us items that we picked up for the week. Definitely make this your first stop when arriving in Maui. The further in you go, the higher the prices are. read more
