I visited this Costco on a Friday afternoon. It was pretty busy as I expect a Costco to be. It's smaller than the ones I'm used to but a decent side nonetheless. Overall the store is clean and very organized. The reason for deducting the one star is due to me trying to locate a worker to replenish the egg whites. I could see the cartons in the freezer behind the products on display but couldn't find anyone to help me. I probably walked around that area for 10min before I gave up. Upon checking out, I realized majority of the workers were up front. It was a bit of a walk back to the freezer section so I just checked out. Overall not a bad experience. read more

Very nice location very clean very up-to-date very pleasant. But one of the ladies at the door entryway is frightening and scary with her terrible attitude. It's not a good look she frightened people away negative. It's unfortunate. It's a great location. I can't understand why management doesn't understand that she shouldn't be there in the father and no sense of reality. The woman is scary her attitude her presence her spirit it's vexing. I love this Costco! They have everything! We always leave with a rotisserie chicken, something from the bakery section, and a few surprise items to try for the first time, like the seasoned pork medallions which are delicious! I love to see what styles and deals they have in the clothes section, as well. And, of course, a stop at the concession stand for the hot dog deal, a chicken bake or a smoothie. I like the store itself, but parking is a hassle. Some of the employees are nice but the cashiers and helpers (beside them) are some of the most rude, aggressive and nasty people (black lady with glasses and afro always has a frown on her face). They throw and mishandle your items and rush you like they have somewhere to be! What are yall racing for, a quota?? There are certain cashiers I won't go to. No holds you up and Instacart doesn't either, Cynthia, since you're so fast- paced. These people should not be in contact with customers, they should be sweeping and mopping the floors. The customer service is at an all time low! No customers, no business. Be glad yall aren't on the streets because it would be a different story. read more

This is my first time having a membership at Costco. It seems like no matter what time I go. It is completely packed. I have to park in other stores parking lots. But this is not the reason for the three stars the three stars for how many times I have to show my card when I come here , I have to show my card when I enter the store. Love Costco! They have great stuff! It's always neat, clean and orderly. We got lucky there were 2 food sampling stations. We tried the macaroons. They were sooo good we bought a box. We also tried the coconut shrimp.delicious! They also had some ruggables, the rugs you can wash in the washing machine. I've been wanting to get one. Good price too. I got a few fun appetizers; filet mignon bites wrapped in pastry dough, and the filo dough cups with feta and apricot they were great! I could walk around there for hours. read more

I have been so very disappointed and quite frankly sickened by the quality and taste of Ribeye steaks from places that sell meat in Newport News va. In the last two years something has drastically changed. Harris teeter, Farm fresh, fresh market, Sam's club, walmart, Aldi and whole foods. I was just going to stop eating and buying steak period especially with the price. I went as a guest to Costco and purchased steaks' lambchops, and beef ribs. We really love this location, well and Costco for that matter. Of course parking is a nut house. But, we manage because we love it. Costco has great meats, seafood and produce. The best part about Costco is that they stand behind their products! This Costco can get a little crowded in and around the meat and produce section. The staff here has always been very welcoming and helpful. We have never had any issues. read more

Parking is awful but the worst is the way the cashiers check out your items. They are rough handling the food, throwing you items and they always seem like they are in a race! I have had to stop the cashier several times and ask to slow down so my food wouldn't get damaged or my bakery items wouldn't get flatten. read more

I would give 5 stars but the parking is awful and I absolutely LOVE how Sam's has a self check out which allows those who have a few items to get in and out faster. We actually had a very nice lady who gave us a sample of soup from a demo. She took the time to actually stop and give my daughter an extra napkin and sit it on her lap. It was very thoughtful. I recently moved to Newport News and found out this is my local Costco. It's a great location. Parking lot is huge. Inside, the layout is pretty well organized. I also really like that that the dining area in the food court is HUGE compared to the other Costco in Norfolk! And even with Covid being active as it is, I've seen the food tasting stations out and about too! And of course, love that their gas is almost always at least 15-20 cents cheaper than anywhere else out in town! read more

***This review is specific to the tire shop. Drew, a writer and the front counter, is exceptionally professional. He arranged to get my tires in and have them installed the following day (as a walk in). By mid day my truck was ready to go. Jimmy, the shop manager, called to let me know that the center cap on one of my wheels (truck is 20 years old) had failed. It was obvious that he was concerned about blame but I was fully aware that age was the most likely cause. I'm glad to have my truck back on the road in a timely and professional manner. Every time I go to Costco I ended up finding something new. Self-control is a serious issue here for me because they have so many great offers and if you are good a meal planning and prepping then this is the place for you! Their bagels are my daughters favorite and we can't go without purchasing one of their amazing rotisserie chickens. If they are available I usually get two and pull them right away. We store the chicken and use it in a bunch of different meals for the week. So good! When it comes to clothing, it might not be my go to, but I have found some great deals on quality outfits here. So, I always take a brief minute or two to check out the clothing section and see if there's some that I just can't live without. Weekends are crazy here! So, I try to avoid it on the weekends if at all possible. read more

I love how this Costco ALWAYS has disinfecting wipes at the pumps. The attendant at the gas pumps is friendly and always helpful. The parking lot is clean. The shopping carts are always pulled back into the store. They're never left in the lot scattered about. The staff is very attentive to the needs of the shoppers and that's appreciated. I'll drive a little further away just for the shopping experience. There are 2 other Costco stores in the city but this one beats them. Hands down! read more

We love going to Costco and have missed it since coronavirus began early this year. There are somethings that you just can't get anywhere else for the price so we finally took a trip! I wasn't super excited on the way because I thought the sampling was still banned(and of course that's my favorite part), but they did have some samples! Samples(only finger/prepackaged type foods) are wrapped in a little wax paper bag and you have to eat them when you leave the store. Other sample booths for hot foods are open, but just for "viewing". I think that's misleading and they can do without those booths. We got samples of Babybel Cheese(whole round), cheesy cornbread wafers, dehydrated seasoned shiitake mushrooms, and salted caramel chocolate squares. The coffee sampling booth was literally just a lady standing there with a bunch of canned coffee offering "smelling samples". She let me smell the open can of coffee then tried to get me to buy a 6 pack. No thanks, I'll wait for the sample! read more

I'm brand spankin' new to the area. So, what does one generally do when he finds himself in a new area? He tries to find some familiarity, of course. And whether you're a Costco person or not, they are generally all the same so shoppers can find what they need - and plenty they don't- and be on their way. This location is much smaller than the one I previously shopped at. Obviously not as many items... where's the damn bourbon? No "hard liquor" to save your life. Otherwise it is what it is. This Costco makes me literally insane, the parking lot is like a demolition derby and people are going crazy trying to find parking- this part of the trip makes me rarely want to come. The service is just whatever it's a race to get you out because of how busy it is which can make for a stressful checkout process. The store is clean for the most part. This particular visit they were low on a lot of food items. They only had organic chicken but it's all good. Until they build another one in the area this is what you can expect. read more

Good tires, poor service. Never called me to tell me the car was ready. Had to call them. Then, just gave me the completion paperwork in an envelop, no explanation. In the car on the seat they left the wheel lock outside of the plastic bag with the instructions on it, a mask sitting on the seat and a sticker with a label and writing on it. But since we're talking about the food court let me tell you it's the best food court in the universe you can get churros for a dollar (where most amusement parks are around 5 and i haven't seen them anywhere else) and you can get an entire 18 inch pizza for $10 and it's a good pizza! we're not talking Little Caesar's or Domino's here this is actually super good pizza at the lowest price ever and don't even get me started on their hot dogs because you can get a hot dog(all beef not even like rhe gross walmart ones) and a fountain drink for a $1.50 in 2018 read more

**REVIEW ABOUT TIRE CENTER** Alright, so Saturday I busted my tire by hitting a curb with an unforgiving storm drain and came in on Monday after work (about 530ish). HOLY MOLY WAS IT BUSY. Appointments are booked up to 2 weeks from now and from the time they open it's first come, first serve. Rodney told me my expected wait time was until closing, and I was like no freaking way. But I needed a tire, so I waited. I ate inside, walked around, and asked if I could just sit in my car and wait - to which they let me of course. About 30min after that they were ready for my car. I proceeded to go to World Market and shop then received a call maybe 20min afterwards saying my car was ready, so I said okay and continued to shop. I was surprised because it was done WELL BEFORE 7pm - AWESOME!!! Any ways, I got another call 5min later and was asked if I was inside shopping because they had parked my car in the fire lane and would move it if I was shopping. About 5min after that, I hear "Excuse me Miss Campbell" and it was a Costco rep there to drop off my keys ad let me know they Parker directly in front of the store. Freaking awesome. Nice dudes and so professional and over-the-top amazing with their service. Even after a crazy day they've probably had with all the customers going in and out through the day. I think I figured out why the lines become long. We showed up really early, like before the store opened, because we were making a stop before we headed to the Outer Banks. Thinking this was a good idea...it also appeared everyone else had the same idea. Once I grabbed my cart I ran to get the few items we were going to get from here and I thought I would be on my way. Nope. Got to the front of the store and this is where I think I figured it out. From the start of the day they only have one register open. Causing that big rush that came in to bottleneck at that one register. Well at least that is one possible reason why this happens. We may never truly know. read more

Always great prices. The membership definitely pays for itself at the gas pumps alone. Normally about $0.20 per gallon cheaper. Friendly workers and new self checkouts which speed up the checkout process. Definitely recommend going on a weekday, if possible. read more

Been a COSTCO and Sam's member for 20 years. All my tires come from one or the other. Sam's trended down in customer service by keeping tire center minimally staffed. Moved to COSTCO and Rodney took great care of me. 2 weeks later...nail in tire. Rodney took care of me again and was very pleasant though I was not in a great mood. Shortly after that I took daughters car in for repair...required new tire, and Rodney once again took care of me. 1500 mile road trip coming up, needed rotation...Rodney was able to find a cancellation and squeeze me in. Rodney has always taken great care of me in Tires. He deals with all kinds of grumpy folks who aren't in the best mood to shell out money to replace tires. read more

Naturally, I was excited when I became an adult and was able to get my very own Costco card. It was like rite of passage into adulthood. When I'm bored, I go roaming around Costco. There's always something to buy (especially in bulk) and I never leave spending less than $100. When I'm hungry, I go to Costco. I can buy a huge hotdog and a drink for $1 and some change. That is after I hit up all the ladies giving out delicious free samples. There's a reason why the same people have been working there for years. Costco is a happy place.
