I visited this past Tuesday for my yearly visit and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and kind. I never feel rushed or that my business isn't appreciated. Dr. Lim is a complete gem who goes the extra mile to explain everything and make sure I understand my options. This was especially important as I changed to contacts after being a life long glasses wearer. Dr. Lim was incredibly patient and explained everything to me in a way that made me feel comfortable choosing contacts. What's great about I Care Optical is they offer a service that will teach you how to put on/remove your contacts. My new best friend in my mind Shaylin (not sure if I spelled it right) spent almost an hour helping me get the hang of contacts. She was super patient and never made me feel bad for not picking it up right away. On top of everything, the glasses/sunglasses selection is the best around. The exam portion went well and the doctor took the time to explain everything to me very thoroughly. I greatly appreciated that. The problem came in with my frames. I used my annual VSP benefit and selected some Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses. Initially, I had to wait till they got the larger size frame in and was told that it was too big for my face. I tried on the smaller one and noticed that it pinched a little bit right behind my ears. It took almost 3 weeks to get the new glasses in and after I started wearing them for about a week, I noticed that they pinched too much and were too uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour at a time. I contacted the office and let them know that and I was not apprised of any exchange option or anything else. I am now out several hundred dollars and have a pair of glasses that I can't wear. Waiting for my benefits to kick in after the first of the year and then I'll be shopping for a new provider and glasses.

I came in very clear what I wanted and didn't want. Exam and office visit was normal. When it came time to get a trial of contacts they had to order them. I drove an hour to come to this appointment then have to come back in a week? I paid $10 for them to mail them to me. Those didn't work, so I called and they had to order more, but this time had to make an appointment because they are so busy they can't take a walk in try-on. Very long story short, they had zero contacts at their office for me to try. Each time had to order them. So, if you want contacts be prepared to wait. Once I decided on a pair, the prescription was wrong. I don't even know at this rate if I have the right prescription. Called to order contacts and got the confirmation a week later that they were ordered. Why it took so long? Idk. That certainly put the nail in the coffin. They had us come in a select a frame for free so they could send to a different lab (the first one was in California) to supposedly get them made quicker and correctly. We were told 10 biz days they would be in. Well, it apparently is going to be closer to 15 biz days! What a dog and pony show - have us in, give us a free frame, promise to get this fixed, blah, blah, blah ... still we wait. I'm sorry I ever referred anyone to this place!!!

Mid April my 17 year old daughter went to see her on her own (I'd had surgery and couldn't go) Dr Ahmed gave her a script and I took her two weeks later and paid and other $100 for new lenses to be put into her existing frames. We get them back and my daughter said. No everything is still very blurry. So back we go. Again Dr agmed is very rushed. Made us feel like we were a bother because she didn't do her job right the first time. She'd ask my daughter. 1 or 2 and she'd say I can't tell a difference but neither of them is clear. This went on for about 5 minutes when she decided to almost double her script. She assured us it was what my daughter thought was best. (Reread this paragraph) So we have another set of lenses made. We picked them up yesterday and she puts them on and immediately takes them off and says I'm seeing 4 of everything. So 3rd times a charm. She's seeing a new dr next week and I will update after her new glasses arrive. But seriously. This is a headache. I should have shopped around for a new Dr and allowed my insuemace to pay for it.
