I was basically ignored for about 45 minutes until someone opened the door and said oh, I didn't know you were waiting. They apparently lost me in the system, and no one came to do my eye exam. Went in for an eye exam, and it was an extremely smooth process. The doc was extremely knowledgeable and even explained certain things about my eyes that no one has ever taken the time to do before. Other experiences I've had were all about getting you in and out as fast as they could, but not here. He took his time to explain what he was doing and why. I like that in a Doc. When I went to pick out my frames, my better half was not with me, and I typically always ask for her approval on something I liked. So, I went off the recommendation of the employee helping me (didn't grab his name). I tried several pairs on, and he said there was one that popped. Which was good because I liked it, but wasn't too sure. He said it was a a perfect fit and style for my noggin... so I went with it. Of course got all the upgrades, and let me tell you... I can't count on my toes and fingers, and yours too on how many compliments I got on these Holbrook Oakleys!! People loved it, my wife loved it, more importantly... I loved them! Overall, for my first experience with this place, it was a pleasant surprise and I found myself not dreading an eye exam and hunting for something I never am really satisfied with- until now. I understand you must've answered the question I had a million times, but please do not cut me off while I am talking. I did not appreciate the way i was responded. I am a loyal customer to Costco and a future patient with the optical dept. Pam needs re-training how to answer calls. I also work in the medical field... so if patients may have questions, specially pertaining to how to save a couple of bucks for lenses, help the member out nicely is the least you can do, Pam! Thank you for answering my question though, and yes you did save me a trip, but in the future, have the decency to be corteous enough over the phone. The gal on Saturday who had was professional and me was super helpful and even went above and beyond to write down a rough estimate on how much i needed to pay out of pocket. Now that is the Costco customer service! But having an employee like Pam just ruins the outlook of the optical team.

My husband had already stopped by, at 9 am, and we stopped by at 10 am and still no one there and doctor was calling to try to get someone in to open the door. When we came back, around 11, a very unhappy customer was venting to woman at front desk because she felt disrespected and was kept waiting as appt was at 9 and no one there. We couldn't even get info as to what we would pay for frames and lenses (we had prescription from eye doctor who doesn't take insurance we now have). It is now almost 8 pm. They are closed for the evening. We never heard back from anyone regarding our insurance, etc. An update: My husband was quoted over $200 for progressive lenses. Not sure where they came up with that as our copay is under $100 for progressive lenses. Needless to say, we will take our business elsewhere. Tried to change from 2 stars to 1 star, but was unable to.

The doctor is so kind and quick and is very good at explaining everything going on. Not only is he great with adults, but he's also great with kids. His family was there to help and they were the sweetest people. It's a nice homey feeling, but still professional. They have a little play place area in the waiting room which is so nice for kids waiting for their appointment. The place is nice, clean, and has a great selection of glasses and sunglasses. They make each customer feel valued and I am always about that. Any complaint about waiting time for glasses has nothing to do with the company. My man has state insurance and his glasses came within the next week. Absolutely recommend for any age!

My husband had appointment for eye checkup and new prescription for contacts, which due to immediate need they filled. For a backup pair we wanted to go elsewhere and not pay their premium rates. The problem is they gave us the prescription leaving out a key detail that they refuse to provide, even to contact lens provider, who has called this office twice, received vm both times and no call back. What Dr's office refuses to transfer a prescription? My husband even stopped by the office thinking there was a mis-understanding and not only were they incredibly rude, but refused to give him his own prescription. Terrible experience, price gouging and uncooperative.

I use my glasses for reading far distance since I am nearsighted. I am able to see things pretty clear most of the time so I do not wear my glasses constantly due to the recommendation of a prior optometrist. During my exam, he asked "Why don't you wear contacts?" I'm not sure if it was because my prescription was heavy, or he thought the fact that I had to carry my glasses around was a nuisance. He didn't offer any in-depth diagnosis of my exam nor provided any advice/talk. I'm also not sure if it was just me, but after getting my eyes dilated, they did not offer any of those thin "sunglasses". Good thing I lived a block away or that would've been a hazard for driving. Weeks later when I returned, they pretty much gave my glasses out and didn't offer to adjust them to my wearing. The 2 stars is for the front receptionist and decent selection of glasses. But for customer service and service focus from Dr. Green, I hope that has improved from my last visit. I will not be returning.
