I gave this clinic a poor review several years ago due to long wait times. I returned today for the first time and boy what a difference. Walked in and immediately taken to an exam room. Ushered quickly to each exam room with different equipment. Doctor was in to see me a minute after tests were done. Dr DeWalt explain the cause and solution of my eye issue clearly and made me feel like a value patient. All staff were friendly and helpful. 5 star experience. read more

Everyone is very nice and professional but, I know if I have an appointment I'm guaranteed to sit in the unpleasant waiting area for hours. Last time I was 15 minutes early for my appointment so total time was 2.5 hours for maybe 30 minutes of treatment. That gave me hours seated in the waiting/sales lobby to listen to customer after customer after customer get the new glasses sales pitch. They have a sign posted (see photo) that addresses the problem. Part of my care is not making me wait hours for care. Update: Heather took the time call me about my review on her day off. She express apologies from the clinic about my experience and offer options for me to either continue under their care or facilitate a referral to another clinic. I've been using this clinic got a few years based on the recommendation of a family friend. It's been fine but I've had no major eye issues in the time I've gone to them; I've also had great vision insurance so their glasses were affordable. The people who work there are nice and pretty on top of it. Overall their service has declined in quality. I've heard from family/friends have had major related vision issues while using this clinic and the doctors here told them it wasn't an issue; family/friends who were given incorrect prescription here and the doctors here wouldn't change it. I'll admit after hearing about that has made me search for an excuse to dump them. So after a miscommunication that resulted in them cancelling an appointment I booked a year in advance I'm happy to wipe my hands of them. Pro-tip: they will only attempt to contact you in one form, once, and if you don't reply they will cancel your appointment. read more

All I can do is tell you my experience. These are the facts: I had to make an eye appointment 1 month out and in doing so, they called 2 weeks out to say there new eye doctor quit and I they had to reschedule. That should of been my first warning and would love the know the back story on that! I tried calling them back 3 times , left a message and finally after 3 days , just went in to reschedule. My eye appointment wasn't any better in terms of communication or customer service . There might be 4 different people who shuttle you in and out of photos not good enough, retaking and rinse and repeat. I am patient so and realize sometimes they are busy but strangely thought they seemed very disorganized. Even though I paid top dollar for the testing , they severely dilated my eyes. First , the technician and then the doctor . I couldn't see and feel I shouldn't have driven home. The worst of it was the doctor who told me I had a freckle and after 2 series of pictures (30 min), never told me how urgent it or bad it was (my grand mother had eye cancer). So even if i did give them kudos for catching it, I had to come back for them to explain . 3 hours later , eye appointment done . 1000 dollars spent and new glasses chosen. They would be 2 weeks ready. 3 and half weeks later , I get glasses. They are awesome. I try to reach them via phone to order contacts 3 times and all times go to voicemail. I come in to let them know I need contacts and they take my payment. They said it would be Wednesday. I had travel schedules for 2 weeks so I flew out Sunday. After no contact from them, I went in to find they were delayed 7 days. Today , I get a call from the owner firing me and saying he would mail me the contacts despite my instructions of a 3rd person picking it up and me traveling with no contacts. Owner could care less about customer service as they didn't listen to one of my complaints. Proceed at your own risk. Be prepared for delays, poor communication and very shakey medical advise. I brought my glasses to have new Rx lenses put in, per my Ophthalmologist's Rx. Took weeks to get a 10 min. appointment to just hand them over. They wanted almost $400 just for single Rx lenses! 4x what I paid at another Silhouette dealer. They reduced it to $240 when I refused to pay any more. They called when they were ready and wanted me to come in the next day for a fitting. I couldn't make that day per prior plans. THEN SHE SAYS THAT'S ALL WE HAVE. NO FUTURE APPOINTMENTS, PERIOD!! NOTHING. Who has no future appointments unless they are closing for good? So she told be to just come and pick them up and there would be no fitting. Period. Who does that? When I came, I had to stand outside in the rain while she handed them to me through the door. I asked her to wait while I put them on and they were crooked. I told her and she shut the door on me! Pros: The staff is very nice, the office is clean and organized. Cons: Frames are over priced and unless you live in Milton this place is way out of the way. I called recently to get my PD measurement so I can order some new glasses online to save some money. The staff refused to provide the info they already have on file without me paying them $30. Beware: they overcharge! After waiting over 3 hours (with a baby) I was charged $50 which is what I believed to be my co-pay. I later checked my plan and informed them my co-pay should only be $10. They said "there was a box you didn't check on the paperwork" for an additional test and that's what the extra $40 was for. Additionally, I was told that because I waited so long, I could come back to get my eyes dilated free of charge. When I came back for the appointment they said they didn't have me on the books. And there were no more appointments before the "inconvenience offer" expires. I feel absolutely taken advantage of. I sent my son here for his first eye exam and the purchase of glasses. At first, after the eye exam, he was very excited and had nothing but positive things to say about the entire exam process. He kept saying that he didn't realize his eyes were so bad! Anyway, while he was there he picked out a set of glasses and was talked into all the bells and whistles of add-ons. That part doesn't bother me so much. Here is where his experience goes downhill. He was quoted two (2) weeks for his glasses to be in. That two weeks came and went. My son called and asked about the status. The response was within the next few days. A few more days go by, and another phone call was placed (at this point we are just about three weeks out). He was told there was a problem at the lab and his glasses should be here in two days, on Thursday, three max, which is Friday. No communication comes from the eye clinic at all until the following Tuesday. BTW, we are now at 3.5 weeks post-glasses order. He was told his glasses had arrived and that they would be ready in about 15-20 minutes. He waited for a little over an hour, and drove to Edgewood, to be told they were at lunch. My son needed to go to work and left, without his glasses. This morning, we drove to Edgewood, again. He waited for an employee to come to the door. When he told them he wanted to pick up his glasses, he was told he needed an appt and they would not be able to get him in until Saturday, 4 weeks after his eye exam. My son expressed that an appt being required was never expressed to him and if they could "fit him in". We walked out with his glasses this morning, with no apology for the inconvenience. If you are looking for a fast, speedy turnaround, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for good customer service, this is not the place for you. Normally, we try to support locals. We are former business owners and appreciate the amount of time and hard work that goes into running a business, especially in a small community like FME, but we will not be returning, nor will we be recommending this eye clinic to anyone who asks. read more

I cannot say enough about these folks. I have been a customer here for many years. The staff is always warm and personable. They work with the customer whenever necessary to work out insurance issues. They have always helped or even done my paperwork for me. They have a varied range of frames and will seek out others if possible. They do comprehensive tests that push towards new technology that my insurance did not cover. I considered the additional fee meager to confirm my eyes health. A chain office will not bother. No, they are not as inexpensive as the chains, but the value is well worth it to me. Few businesses are as personable and friendly as this. This is not MegaCorp Eye Clinic. This is the local family outfit that I love to support and give my business to. I brought my sister to this clinic to have her glasses prescription filled. The staff was very friendly, offering water to even those who "were along for the ride". They were very helpful and patient with my sister as she tried to decide what to do on her limited income. Impressive. The office is well stocked with great looking frames. New Patients Beware! I'm sure my situation is similar to many. For the past several years I have been going to Vista Optical, or Cascade Skin & Eye. I like Vista the best, they are fast and efficient. However, I recently moved to Edgewood and was looking for a more convenient place to get my eyes examined, and contact lenses refilled. Hello Milton-Edgewood Eye Clinic. I arrived a little early for my 4:20pm appointment. They had me complete some forms, then took me back. Over the next 2 hours I was moved to no less than 3 different rooms, where the inside of my eyes were photographed using two different machines (in both color & B&W?) and two different lenses, put my chin and forehead against at least three additional machines (don't know what they did), eyes dilated twice with drops, and asked to remove my contacts and then put them back in - twice. This was a super-deluxe eye exam, and is required for all first time patients. Here's the kicker, I have incredibly good insurance, and it has always covered 100% of every eye exam I have ever had anywhere. At the end of this exam I was expecting to pay my usual small copay (or nothing for out of network providers), but instead was presented with a bill of $118 - on top of what my insurance would pay! I left mad at 6:30pm, over 2 hours after my eye exam began, deciding not to get my contacts refilled there. Needless to say, I will not be going back. read more

I went there for years even though it was out of the way-the staff were always very friendly and helpful. Then at one appointment I had them run a check on my insurance to verify that I could order a pair of glasses, and they said that it was good to go. I didn't really need the glasses, but since my insurance covers a pair a year, I wanted to get a pair ordered. When I came to pick the glasses up, I was told that it was too soon to clear my insurance, and that I'd have to pay full price-over a few hundred dollars. I explained the situation and was given no other option than to pay full price..they wouldn't even give me a small discount to make up for the fact I was told the glasses would essentially be free. I paid for the glasses, and haven't been back since. The staff are nice people, but to surprise a customer with a bill that large without any willingness to soften the blow is a crappy thing for any business to do. I know mistakes happen, but even a 10% discount would've made me feel like they were admitting they screwed up, and working to maintain a business relationship. The only reason I had to spend that much is that their frames are overpriced! read more

I had an amazing experience here!!! Everyone was so nice and Debbie who helps with insurance was so helpful. I LOVED dr. Curatola. So nice, sweet and great listener. She addressed all my concerns and I love her personality. She even explained some things to me that I never knew in all my years going to eye appointments at other places. Even though they are out of network for me, they are making sure my insurance works with them. I was concerned about being overcharged because of the other yelp review but they explained about the contact lens fittings which makes sense and is similar to what other places would charge. They have a line of kate space glasses that I know I will be choosing from when I'm ready for a new pair. Couldn't be happier with my decision to switch to them!!! read more
