I live in Little Italy and am so happy that we've transferred our Rx's over to this pharmacy from…read moreCVS. The pharmacist is always kind, helpful and happy, as are anyone else at the counters. Way better than than previous pharmacies we've used. This store gets a bad rap because of all the homeless looting the store - emptying its shelves. It's a daily battle, they've tried security at the doors, but for whatever reason they don't have it anymore. They should permanently close off the door on Kettner and create a booze only counter with the liquor behind it, not accessible to the customer unless they are buying it at the booze counter.

While in San Diego this was the first place I went to gather supplies for my room. I did stop in…read morehere again at least once before departing, so this review will be a combination of the both visits. Coming here I expected more of a selection. It appeared that the wide variety of selection was set for libations rather than other items in the store. For the footprint of the store it seems that there just wasn't enough room in house to accommodate that. Like I said, because the libations took up a solid two aisles. That meant that the rest of the aisles were left to have items fight for counter space. Unfortunately on both of my visits here I did not find what I needed and had to venture elsewhere to get those items. Customer service wasn't too bad here, they were attentive to the needs of those in the store, but at some points they appeared to be bothered to help you at first. It is what it is. I view this more as a community convenience store than a Rite Aid. I suppose if you live in the neighborhood it is better than trekking to wherever to get a quick item.

Three stars for another CVS! Yes, I'm a long-time shopper! Where there is a CVS, Shayne will be…read morethere! Location/Ambiance: *Convenient downtown location, about a 14-minute walk from Cortez Hill and close to the trolley and Ross. *Be aware of your surroundings as there are many suspicious eyes, transients, and homeless people. *Prices are a little friendlier than 7-Eleven and some other neighborhood markets. *Larger, well-stocked, and reasonably priced especially when using your CVS coupons! *The outside is worn and not particularly inviting, but the inside is bigger than expected, and what I call "organized chaos." *Most items are locked up especially the snacks I frequently buy. Felt like a treasure hunt looking for my usuals. *There was a good selection of snacks, drinks, and CVS essentials, though the grocery section is limited and some of the aisles felt cramped. Customer service: *Staff were friendly (one cashier and one I saw on the floor). They were quick to assist me. *Self-checkout was easy (3 machines); stress-free and in/out in 10 minutes. It's the best option if you're in a rush. Overall: *Nothing special, but it's convenient, generally well-stocked, and gets the job done. Not the prettiest CVS, but useful when you need something close by.

I was visiting Coronado and walking with a friend along Orange. Since it was summertime, it was…read morequite hot, and at one point, I needed to grab a cold bottle of water. Then, I happened upon Walgreens! I was delighted to find regular Walgreens prices right on Coronado, where I expected a cold bottle of water to be $5 or more. I ended up getting two large bottles for $3 using a Walgreens deal. I just used some W Cash Rewards that had been saved for quite some time, and now, when checking out, I have to start earning my W Cash Rewards from scratch again. I enjoy the occasional visit to Walgreens, where I typically see it as a good excuse to stock up on paper goods, such as Kleenex or facial tissues, which I often run out of at home. I found multiple options for brands, box sizes, ply count, and whether they were soft or had lotion on them. I do enjoy just walking around the store as you never know what you will find. While walking around this time, I noted that this store regularly keeps the aisles looking good and the items in stock, though I also saw employees restocking items and changing price tags in various aisles. When I was checking out, there was one person ahead of me, but the line moved quickly, and once I entered my phone number for my rewards program, my transaction went through quickly, too. The W Cash Rewards program is free to sign up for and easy to use. You earn back 1% in Walgreens Cash rewards storewide, even at the pharmacy, and 5% in rewards on Walgreens branded products. There are also sales prices automatically unlocked and other savings coupons, where you can earn reward dollars by making a purchase after selecting a given coupon. Sometimes the coupons are on a receipt from your most recent purchase. You can also find other coupons on the app or the website (or in a booklet or ad when you arrive at the store). While I do not frequent Walgreens as often as other drug stores, I often wonder why, when I happen to visit a Walgreens store, as it's so easy to shop there, and my experiences are often very pleasant. Though on Coronado, I would consider my visit to Walgreens to be a big success!!

I made eye contact with one of the store associates at the register and instead of acknowledging me, he looked back down. I knocked on the door and he just shook his head at me, indicating he wouldn't be opening the doors. I took a picture of the hours on the window and that prompted him to come outside. He informed me they had had a power outage and were attempting to get the registers back up and working. Understandable. I said thanks and walked back to my car, only to watch more customers do exactly what I had just done and stand by the doors that didn't open. What does it take to write on a piece of paper that the store is currently closed due to a power outage and put it up on the doors? Lights are on, employees are in there staring at you through closed doors.... This place is mismanaged and the employees are SO lazy. I've been in the store many times waiting in a line to check out where one employee is at a register and the other employees are hanging around. Keep in mind they have 4 registers. It might be time to start thinking about implementing self check outs. This store is always very stocked and has a lot of options which makes it a good choice, but I would avoid it if I could. I drove across the street after this to Vons and got what I needed.

Then I went back to the pharmacy to ask for help from the pharmacists regarding several post-op wound care items that I needed to buy, and was unsure about which item to choose. Basically, I just needed some hand holding while figuring out what to buy. Although there were 3 people working in the pharmacy at that time, and there was no one waiting in line, no one had time to come out of the pharmacy to help me. They did tell me what isle I could look in, and I eventually found the items I needed by myself. But it just seemed strange that they couldn't come out to help a customer, even when there was no one else in the store. On the good side, this is a convenient location to downtown San Diego, near the Southwest corner of Balboa Park. Free customer parking in their lot.

They "couldn't find it" and "couldn't print it". Eventually she just had to leave. The next day she sent me back to get it and I was there for like 45 minutes because they "couldn't find it" again. I have literally never met more incompetent people in my life. They said it "somehow got deleted" and they have to pull it from the archives but they don't know how long it will take. I talked to the manager and he just said "it's just our system" and walked away. Most dismissive manager, can't think of anyone more unfit. I literally cannot believe how much time I've waited in this fucking CVS. If I could give them negative stars I would. I have no words..... I'm so mad.
