I wish they had a bigger seafood selection but great place the lines move so much faster then the ones in California most definitely.

Normally I would say I love Costco but the exception is Gift Cards! If you order one to be sent to a loved one you will never know if they got it! I called customer service after 11 days and the wait time was 88 minutes! but then they hung up on me! I called my local store,where we both live, and was given the run around by the guy and basically he didn't/couldn't help me! So don't order a gift card to be delivered!!!! read more

This is for their tire department: Short story: had an appointment to have my low pressure light changed. Left finding it they did not check it. Ended up being there for 2.5 hrs just for having a light put in. Long story: made an appointment 3 days prior to have my low tire pressure checked. They told me nothing was wrong with the sensor or tires. I found that very odd since this light has been giving me issues for months. The front desk reassured me that they would not let me leave if the light was still on. Went to my car and found the light still on. Brought car back, they checked the sensors again and found sure enough one of my sensors was dead. He tried telling me "the sensors sometimes won't read dead if there is still some battery left. But it's out so i think it just now died". Just now died? I had been out of the shop for 15 min and you're trying to tell me it just NOW went out. Ended up having to wait another 30 mins. I basically spent almost 3 hrs there for a simple sensor. And i HAD an appointment. Also wouldn't knock any money off, besides their 20 dollar service fee. I paid almost $100 to sit there for 3 hours and try to send me off with not even fixing the issue. read more

Came in for tires. Also had bad inflation sensors. They replaced all four wheels, but they said the spare sensor was bad and they couldn't get the spare off to replace it. I took it to another Costco and they replaced it, no problem. I also was missing a center cap that the 2nd Costco had to deal with. read more

This Costco SUCKS! Every time I come here I get produce that goes bad in a day or two, Deli meat that is bad when you open it! Today I bought lobster tails frozen in a box you can not see what you are getting, got them home to open and all 20 or so lobsters are a big block frozen together which means they sat out and thawed out and were refrozen which you cannot do with seafood. So I had to pack up drive back 20+ miles to stand in line at their return merchandise line, that took 35 mins to get up to the front was only 4th in line when I got there. Once up to the front a very short man can't remember his name never said hello, nothing I had to say hello twice to get an acknowledgment from him . At this time their were 7 CS people in this area. The line behind me now 10 deep! Poor quality products, crappy slowwww customer service. The general manager is obviously NOT doing his/her job. It starts at the top! Walked in showed my Costco membership card and walk down 1 aisle and had an employee say to me can I help you with something. I told her I was just looking around she said good smiled and walked away. Then we run into an employee for Direct TV he seemed polite but too much Talk about where he is from when potential customers were walking by him. We get our shopping done and after check-out, they check our stuff by the door and the same bashful female from long ago her name started with A not finishing the rest of her name said one of the items purchased wasn't on the Receipt I told her I watched them scan it she checked with another employee they said the same. Some guy walks up says it's right on the receipt. They have said the same thing before about the same item and other items we have purchased from there before by the same girl with the same name and looked the same. She didn't even mark the receipt. Terrible service with employees who seemed like they were bringing their personal Grudges to work. They seemed stereotypical and I felt my I was targeted and personally attacked. read more

It really is two different ratings. 5 stars for gas, since it's always one of the cheapest in salem and the line moves quick. Plus you never have to worry about getting old fuel that's starting to break down. The warehouse part is 3 stars. First it's way to crowded with people that don't buy anything but come here to graze on the free samples. Last week there was 40+ people all huddled around a table to try a half of a meatball. They all but eliminated the video game area but keep stocking rows of clothes. Do they really sell that many pairs of Kirkland socks and jeans? The food area is adequate with the normal stock of supplies including chicken salad and chicken pot pie. Checking out is usually a slow process but that's to be expected. read more

If your card is expired expect to be treated like a pheasant and embarassed.Horrible customer service. Went there to spend over 300 dollars and my membership expired last month. Was not notified by the business owner they took me off..did not recieve a letter or any info regarding membership. They wouldn't let me buy my stuff! I only had enough for what I was going to buy! Your stuff isn't that great costco, your not any better than anyone else and ypur customer service is by far the worst I ever seen on the face of the earth. read more

I would have given it 4 stars if they have more Organic veggies and fruits just like other Costco location, I don't buy tissue paper here because its more expensive than buying in Fred Meyers or Winco. If not for work I wouldn't get a membership, $50 dollars for a year is not worth it if you're not a big spender on things just like me, and I think I saw a sign that it will be $55 a year for membership now which is a lot, I don't get it when you have to pay them to shop there while in fact you are spending your money to them.... read more

My mom and I went to the Costco Optical department and I never in my life had I been so disrespected before with such a racist experience. The lady helping at the department was so rude to us and didn't help us at all. She was disrespectful in her demeanor about how she talked to us, and I believe she had some prejudice towards us because of COVID-19. She didn't ask, "How can I help you today?" But rather "what do you want?" The whole optical department is closed and she gave me attitude with me wanting to order my contacts and my mom wanting to order new frames for her glasses. She didn't bother to ask me for my birth date to get my prescription. I called the Albany Costco to see if I could purchase my contacts, and my experience went smoothly. I will never go to this Costco ever again to purchase anything unless absolutely necessary. I am so disappointed in the customer service I received. read more

Used to love Costco as a kid but now that they accept EBT food stamps it is packed more than ever! On Monday the line was halfway to the middle of the store you couldn't even walk to get snAcks because the carts and lines prevented being able to walk or even turn around. Felt bad for the employees working cashiers when they are doing the best they can. read more

Truth is, not everything is a deal. Got to look at the price/unit. The executive membership is a rip-off. We had it one year, didnt get much back. I wouldnt apply. The food court, is packed. Super packed when it is summer, that tells you how pack the parking is. Hot dogs are a deal. Pizza is 1.99 a slice or like 10 bucks a box??? Samples are nice? read more

Love Costco! Great place to load up on good deals. The bare necessities like TP, paper towels, & other bulk items. I'm glad they carry more organic stuff! I wish they had a better line of vitamins. I have to go to a health food store to get the good stuff. read more

$1.50 hotdog with a soda, that's a steal!!! and the chicken bakes are to die for. They do have a sandwich that is newer. it is kind of a turkey melt with pesto sauce, very good. if your in the warehouse, it is worth a try:) read more

Not the best Costco, but an OK one. The place is always PACKED...seriously. Salem needs another one. Parking is tough, with a fairly long walk involved. And on a side note...why do people wait in their gas line for what seems like eternity to save like .25-50cents total???? That's Salem! Inside the store, the usual fare. But its weird that from Costco to Costco, their food selection can be different. read more

I moved to the Oregon coast several months ago from the metro NY area. The Albany OR Costco is closer but terrible. The Salem store was recommended to me and THANK YOU it is MUCH better and worth the additional travel miles. Yes the store is busy but the store is a good one! If you want less traffic, go to Albany. I would rather have a better store and make wiser choices of less busy times to visit. This store is akin to what I am accustomed to on the east coast and I highly recommend. read more

I Had an issue with my Executive Membership. So a Supervisor by the name of Josh took my membership card we had 3 other supervisors crowd around and what appeared to be security. We were able to make our purchase but he said he was taking my card away. I left the store put the Merchandise in my fathers daughters car. Walked back in with my father on the phone because I was and have been on his membership. Turns out my mothers daughter was using it as well. I tell the woman at the desk. Aside from the female their attitude was uncalled-for. They could have pulled me aside and instead put me on Public display in front of everyone at that packed and busy store. She got the card gave it back and said next time your Dad comes in to have him come to the desk and we can fix this. Why say that and not my fathers first name. I got my card back she said sorry. Sorrys don't fix it. They personally targeted me because of my appearance and who I am they publicly humiliated me and embarrassed me and did it loudly in front of the store. I never see them ask for my fathers membership at the check-out but they asked me. This isn't the first incident of them doing this to me either. I returned hours later with my father he texted his Step daughter about it she purposely stalled to reply back. He left and did nothing. While I was there I went to check out the samples. I went in the Health and Nutrition department a woman there serving samples decided to make me feel un welcome I think her name was Beverley. Rather than telling me about the product which was for immunity packed with 14 essential vitamins she proceeded to tell me are you just going to put it in your mouth without knowing what it is. I read it to her what it was. I also told her I was getting my daily dose of vitamins. She said well those aren't vitamins still failing to tell me about what the product was. I told well it says right there packed with 14 essential vitamins so that's close enough and for her to have a good day. Costco should be making people welcome safe and not judge by appearance or who they are. Keep their personal grudges elsewhere and not in their working environment. I will not leave my real name because I fear of retaliation for me and my dwindling tiny family. Hmm sometimes It would be nice if Price Club was still around. read more

The Salem, Oregon Costco is a great store to shop for just about anything you might need at home or outdoors. Great prices and bulk product. They beat competitors by a long shot. Definitely worth getting a membership and shopping with them. read more

Optical- I went to pick up some pre-ordered contacts, which takes like 30 seconds but I was waiting for 20 minutes!!! When I first arrived I went straight to the counter and was not even acknowledged. No "hi" "welcome to Costco optical" "I will be with you in a minute" nope, I just got ignored! I was waiting for 5 minutes when one of the ladies yelled out the number 42. Are you serious. You were taking numbers. Couldn't you have told me. I don't know when they started this number system(which is a great idea) but they could of at least made sure I grabbed a number because I was standing there looking like I was standing in line so obviously I had no clue about a number system. So the two families that came in after me got a number before me which added 15 more minutes. I've been a customer for Costco optical for over 5 years. read more

I have been purchasing gas at the store in Salem for over about a year now and I have not had a problem one with using my Visa Debit card as payment. I would never purchase gas or anything else without having enough money in my account to cover any and all of my purchases. For whatever reason Costco decided to put a $100.00 hold on each purchase that I make and all without any notification that it was going to happen. I have not got any calls or e-mails as to the reason why. I do have a small in home State registered business. I am a current business executive card holder. read more

Called about my son's prescription (a new one that had never been filled before). We recently moved and live over 30 minutes away now - I wanted to make sure that before I drove all the way there, his insurance covered his prescription (his doctor made it sound like they wouldn't). I was told that I'd have to come in before they'd do anything and fill out his insurance info. I asked if there was any way I could do it over the phone because we lived a ways out and I'd hate to drive all the way there just to find out it wasn't covered. To make a long story short, her AND her supervisor (who I requested to speak with) were just extremely rude, uncaring and unprofessional. The kind who interrupt you, could care less about helping and do the bare minimum of what their job requires. Where in the world has good customer service gone?! Her excuse was that it was too difficult to do over the phone (apparently jotting down six letters/numbers was too difficult ... considering the fact that they already had his name and DOB). They were infuriating. I called our local pharmacy here in our new town - nicest people ever. Seriously. Just another example of big companies with terrible customer service and employees who don't know what it means to go the extra mile for the customer because they don't have to compete for business. No thanks. On a good note, the cashiers in the actual warehouse have always been very friendly and helpful. The food court is delicious and cheap. Their return policy is one of the best - absolutely no hassle. read more

Costco Optical is a joke, just take your business elsewhere. They don't value your time and the process for getting glasses or contacts is in the stone age. They don't accept over the phone payments so you have to drive to Costco and pay for the prescription then wait a week then drive back to pickup your order... Stupid and a waste of time. read more

Wow, I'm baffled by this one. The Costco staff and most of the patrons are fine (a lot of grazers and shopping carts parked in the middle of the aisle). But it is crowded; and the exterior store plan is a disaster. I was nearly mowed down in the crosswalk going in and leaving. It's the first time I felt like I was back in California, where the car is king and the pedestrian is a speed bump--really the opposite of what I've seen in Oregon. It's only my first visit, but I'm already considering a farther trek to another location. It seems like a giant pain just to get in and out of the parking lot. read more

This Costco is absolutely the worst managed of all I have been to. They never have enough checkers....sometimes the line is 15 or 20 customers deep, that's ridiculous! I file a complaint form every time I get stuck having to go to this store. They don't care about customers like Costco should. I pay to be a member & shop there....you would think that would matter. Folks, just drive down the freeway to Albany Costco (Winco is now it's next door neighbor!). Take exit 234 and it's right on the left. You won't regret it! They also have gas pumps. read more
