This review is for the Costco Tire Center. Let me start that this Costco is so busy, that I avoid it for regular Costco shopping. I go somewhere else for my regular Costco shopping. However, the Tire Center is amazing. They're professional and honest. I've had to get a new set of tires for 2 of our vehicles in the past year due to wear and tear and another due to unrepairable leak + low tire threads. Don't forget to get your Torque check (no appointment needed and takes less than 5 minutes) after driving 25+ miles after a new tires are installed. This has been my home Costco for the past 13 years, so it genuinely makes me sad to leave a negative review. Last week, I tried to return a gift my sister had purchased for me with the receipt. After explaining the situation to the supervisor at the entrance and then to the cashier and another supervisor at the returns desk, they all told me to get my sister's membership number so the refund could be issued to her original payment method. After I returned with her membership number, Supervisor Gabriella told me the other employees were mistaken, that the item could not be returned, and repeatedly asked me to leave. I politely requested to speak with a manager, but she said they were busy. Only after I insisted three times did a manager come over and complete the return without any issue. I understand that miscommunication happens. My disappointment was not the mistake itself, but how I was treated. When I calmly shared that I felt she had been unnecessarily aggressive, Gabriella responded, "Yeah, because I'm so tired of standing here like this. We can't help you. You should leave." My family has been Costco members for nearly 40 years, and we also own Costco stock because we believe in the company's values. Costco has built a reputation for respect, integrity, and serving the community. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling dismissed and disrespected. Regardless of whether someone is a member or simply a guest returning a gift, everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. read more

The Bad: The parking at this Costco is a nightmare and you need to walk up a long ramp to get in, also when you finally do get to the top of the ramp you enter on the left not the right which is just weird encounter intuitive. Also "at least on this day" I noticed that shoppers are much more rude here, they will completely block an aisle away with there carts and not be courteous to put the carts on the side "this happened at least 10 times" I've never had that problem at the Costco on Coleman Avenue, people over there have some respect and will move over for you. The good: When you enter, you have to scan your card, when I scanned my card the employee said something to me? I said I'm sorry I didn't understand what you said? He then replied "thank you for being such a long time customer, this is your 30th year!" I thought that was really nice. (I can't believe I've been a member for so long) This Costco also has my favorite Kiko Man soy sauce "the original, with all the salt" the one on Coleman Avenue does not. Bottom line is I don't think I'll be going back to this location, the negatives outweigh the positives in my opinion. read more

Quality/Quantity - If you are following, you know I am a HUGE Costco fan. But this location is one of my least favorite. It is just TOO busy! From the challenges of parking, food court, or just trying to walk inside. I won't/don't even try to get a sample here. It's as if your guests/customers have not eaten for days?!?! Anyway, I still come and check out your merchandise as each Costco carries slightly different items with different sales. And I was lucky enough to see the sterling wine on sale; this will make a great upcoming gift. Follow and see why. Interesting Indian beer, but I did not buy it. This location is known as the worst Costco in South Bay for many reasons. The parking lot is always packed no matter what time you go, even 30 minutes before closing. The food court is outside of the warehouse, so it won't be enjoyable to wait in line or eat there on hot summer days. I waited over 30 minutes for a pizza when I was told it would only take 10 minutes. The employee tossed the pizza box at me and walked away, didn't even ask if I wanted plates, parmesan, or pepper flakes. On the bright side, I did find the Panini World Cup sticker book here for $84. read more

This is my Go-To Costco and is usually well stocked and managed quite well. Plenty of usual Costco selections available. They also have a good selection of Asian/ Indian groceries (organic roti, basmati rice, dal). My favorite foods are the juices, the food court cookie, Greek yogurt and many Kirkland brand items here. I have been to many Costco's throughout the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego and this is by far the worst location I have ever been to in my life. The set up and flow of the store makes it miserable to shop and try to maneuver around. The people who shop at this Costco were the worst people I've ever encountered. No manners and extremely rude. The entire store was absolute chaos and a mess. I did not even go during peak hours. I wish I took more photos but the fruit section looked like it was violently rampaged, there was random fruit everywhere all over the ground, all over other products. It was bad. I was pretty sure the ordering kiosk showed an image of chocolate ice cream which is what I selected. The lady at the window saw "CHOC CHURRO" on my receipt, today 4/06/2026 and made my sundae with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and bits of churro. I didn't say anything because this is my first time trying the churro sundae but I'm quite sure the sauce is supposed to be caramel regardless of whether you get vanilla or chocolate. So, wrong sauce and wrong ice cream!!! THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I've ordered a sundae that has been prepared incorrectly. The first time was the mint choc cookie sundae. The woman didn't put chocolate sauce, just mint ice cream and cookies. WTF!!! I had someone else order this sundae for me and it was also prepared by a woman. Hey Costco, what type of people are you hiring to serve basic simple items in the food court??!!! Perhaps a hands-on training on new items will fix this incompetence. As for the churro sundae, it's a thumbs down for me. I didn't like the churro bits. They're so tiny and remind me of some type of cereal. probably the worst costco you can be at on the weekends. if you have to go on the weekends, i suggest you dont use a shopping cart lol parking gets very hectic on all sides of the building. its very hard for pedestrians to get in and out if you have a cart. the food court outside is really small and can get crowded since patrons go through that way too. also if the line to the gas station overflows, it seeps into the parking lot, causing a lot of people stuck in that area when leaving. the layout inside the costco isnt the typical costco layout. the produce section causes a lot of chaos as it sits in the middle of the snack/dried goods and the frozen foods. one positive note about this location is that they have a lot of asian goodies compared to the mountain view location. i always find myself grabbing more here because of the target demographic read more

The gas station hours are not properly displayed or updated on the online service. I specifically asked on Google what were the hours today (Sunday) and the answer was until 10pm. I arrive at 8:10pm, there are cars filling up at the pumps, but the lanes are closed. I tell the person in charge there what the situation is and if somehow there can be an exception, I show my phone screen with the search and Google's answer, and he says I should have used the Costco app and they are closed and that was that. 15 minutes drive to and from the warehouse/gas station. Lousy service. No regard for a customer situation or inconvenience. For what? 5 more minutes and money spent by me on gas? Extra lousy customer service... The most disliked Costco by me. Parking lot is a mess especially bc it is not wide open and is like a L shape. I feel like this Costco is smaller and offers less compared to other ones and has a closed off layout. I overall try to avoid going to this Costco and drive a little further to go to a different one. What prompted this review was that workers are friendly here and I wanted to give a shout out to Franklin in optical. Since I was in the area I came in during the last hour to look for some new frames for my LO and he happily asked if we needed some recommendations and pulled out frames in the shelves. He taught us how to read the sizing of the frame and was overall super nice, patient and helpful! I love that kind of customer service. Thanks Franklin! read more

This cookie is suboptimal. It's too big and sweet. Make sure to bring lots of people to share it with because this one's a doozy. In other news, This Costco is pretty hard to park in. Rude staff at food court :( they were really snappy at me when I was picking up my food

Not sure if Costco SVL is 1 of the largest in the South Bay area but it is roomy. I work in Fremont so I have gone to the newer Costco Newark location and that store is much smaller but way less busy than Costco SVL. For those unfortunate souls who come to this Costco on the weekends I feel their pain on finding parking & then avoid getting run over by some crazy drivers. Unfortunately I didn't feel safe shopping at this Costco location. I didn't get a chance to go inside due to the unsanitary conditions me and my partner experienced. At around 11:45 AM - 11:50 AM we decided to grab something to eat at the food quart, which in our case wasn't unusual before shopping/groceries. However, my partner got horrible food poisoning from his hot dog and my pizza had hairs on it. The associate/costco worker that gave us our pizza treated us with haste dismissal and blatantly slammed our food on the counter. I believe his name tag was Juan (not too sure on spelling but I did catch it because this experience was uneccessary). We didn't even pick up our food from the counter yet and he was already screaming for the next customer, I just wanted to ask for some napkins. I ultimately didn't feel safe finishing the meal and the quality of these food quart items didn't help me feel it would be a good idea to purchase products inside. Miriam has a terrible attitude and having her as my cashier made my experience unfortunate and frustrating. I was there with a friend and used his membership for my transaction and had planned to pay with my credit card. I was informed by her of the "policy" that the name on the card had to match the name on the membership. I told her that I've done this several times prior at this same location with no issue so I was confused as to why this happened out of nowhere. I didn't mind the policy so much and ended up paying by my debit card but her attitude was rude and dismissive when she was speaking to me and quite frankly she ruined the experience. It's true and my worst Costco experience couldn't top this one. -The front parking layout is horrendous -Getting into the store is an obstacle -The lines from cashier extended to the meat dept -The food court self kiosk were all not operational -The food court line had one cashier with 20+ ppl. I stood in line for 20 mins only to find out I couldn't order any whole pizza's and could only buy what they had on the shelf. I felt bad for the other folks behind me still in line. This is really about Costco's Tire Service and Repair. In a word, NOT good. Costco once upon a time had "service", which is what you were paying for with the ho-hum pricing. For tires, this was top tire brands, at so-so prices, with "free installation" (built into the price, nothing in this world is free), and 5 Year road hazard and repair. I say, PASS. Though I have bought well over 5 sets of tires at Costco, the last pair I bought there will be my last. This is a Costco Corporation problem, not restricted to any one Costco, it applies to all of them. The only individual differences are with the people - and there is variation there, and that is not a pretty story at the Sunnyvale location. My vehicles get low mileage, so the tires go a long time, in years (not mileage.) I picked up my second "unlucky" nail in a tire in a year. In fact, on the same tire, very unlucky. (My neighbors construction contractors are not pro's, and they leave nails, and screws, and all sort of crap in the roadway.) Anyway, I had to go to two Costco's, first on Almaden Expressway, and then to this Sunnyvale location. The first location, offered only a walk-in repair, for a nail in the tire, of 4 to 5 hours. (They wanted me to leave it, I have no backup, so I could pay a Lyft or Uber for an 8 mile ride there and back. (And look, its a nail, it can be repaired with a plug, that that literally takes 10 minutes. Costco won't do that (corporate policy of not wanting to get sued), so everything is a removal, dismount from rim, patch, remount on wheel, back on vehicle... (Its actually not good for the tire, but that's Costco, who cares about customers, just profits, and maximizing them, which means doing it the slow, tire risk way.) My tire survived the ordeal. But that the first Costco, I was offered 4-5 hours, wait. That was the only option (or leave, so I left). At Costco #2 (Sunnyvale), I made an appointment (same day, super lucky) while in the fast food line after the fail Costco #1. Then drove over to Lawrence Station. Got a 5 minute song and dance, "without the words coming out of the guy's mouth, we will not fix your tire." He said, "You will have to talk to my manager", walked away, no him, no manager anywhere to be seen, for 10 minutes. (No idea. But the place was rife with poor operation in the hour I was there, empty desk no less than 5 times.) I had to argue with the manager as well. Then they started "inventing things". The tire was cracked (it was not). [I ancient, and have been working cars for 50 years, and the tire had ZERO signs of cracking, anywhere.) It had plenty of tread. At least 3 times the minimum. The nail was 1.5 inches to 2 inches from the side wall, depending on who you measure, the min. distance is 1 inch. It like they just wanted to sell a tire set that bad, OR.... they just didn't want to do more service. (BUT I HAD AN APPOINTMENT....) Truly the WORST experience at any Costco ever, but its not a well run chain anyway. Can't say it was the worst at an automotive place, but it perhaps did make the #10 spot (in 50 years, that is pretty bad.) The manager was an absolute worthless body with a mouth, NOT prepared for an unhappy customer, being MADE more unhappy because of mistreatment. She called in the the Asst. Manager,, who stood their like a statue, offering ZERO to the conversation. So, my advice is buy your tires somewhere else. They place is ALL excuses, and no "do". It's people by people that are more about the appearance of things, than of ACTUALL salient facts, and actual customer service. I should not have had to spend 35 minutes arguing with them to get service, with an AGM in hall as "watcher", so that the snowflakes doing a bad job don't melt. Called CORPORATE, never got a call back. Shows how much this chain cares about what they sell, and how they operate. Buy anywhere else. Walmart is better than these guys, and THAT is truly saying something. (It is not meant as a compliment to either party.) The repair was marked, by me, to make it easy to find (5 seconds). I had the tire off the day before doing other service, and noticed the nail. But I didn't have a plug kit at that location, and no other vehicle, so I could just fix it myself in 5 minutes. Instead, I had to spend time from 11am, until 3:45pm, nearly 5 hours, getting a tire fixed with a nail. PATHETIC. And literally every Costco is like this, but the one in Sunnyvale, rule follows, no common sense. The Tire Manager doesn't know ANYTHING about vehicles, cars, or tires, not a thing. The technician in this case was just making it up as he went "Jesus" (that was his name, according to the uniform), it was bad. But Costco #1, they never even looked at the vehicle, the paper work, or anything, just "4-5 hours", to do nail repair. It PROVES that the HAZARD that you getting with Costco is basically WORTHLESS. So, don't buy the marketing, big signs, or promises. read more

We go to Costco about twice a month. We're careful about what we buy to make sure we'll actually use it, since some items are just too big for us. Most of the time we find great deals. Today, though, I was pretty disappointed with the snack bar. There was no ice--something you don't find out until you go to fill your cup--and there were no napkins available either. This review is regarding a Loss Prevention employee (he wears cowboy boots) who approached my boyfriend and I about his service dog. Instead of asking the proper ADA-compliant question (whether the dog is a service animal) he asked if the dog was an "emotional support animal" VIOLATING ADA requirements of asking whether he's a service dog for a disability. My boyfriend explained no, that he is his service dog. The LP employee then responded by making a mocking comment about whether the dog was "trained to run away," which again is in VIOLATION of ADA. My bf voluntarily disclosed his medical condition (not required) and the task the dog assists with (required). This same employee has approached us twice now, and both interactions have been unprofessional and in VIOLATION with ADA. He immediately took off his badge, refused to identify himself, and walked away. Please properly educate yourself to avoid a future lawsuit. read more

This warehouse is super super crowded. Yesterday I spent over half hour looking for a parking place - No exaggeration! Even the employees apparently cannot find parking at times. That is crazy! Then I finally got into the warehouse, and the item that I came specifically to purchase was OUT OF STOCK, even though it clearly showed there were still 50 of the items in stock at that Costco location . These stock and parking issues have now happened countless times at this Costco, and other Bay Area Costco retailers. Costco's inventory system is horribly inaccurate. I have been a long time Costco member, and it is NO LONGER worth the hassle of a membership. NO longer worth the $130 annual fee. read more

It's not the worst but the parking situation is like...I hate the parking here. There's not enough space but it still doesn't prevent anyone from coming here because everyone goes here. It's like the whole Silicon Valley goes to this specific Costco. Their food court is outside which is nice. That's really the only thing going for it. Inside feels like a maze and I guess I'm just so used to my closer Costco that of course things feel more like in the wrong area but I guess here it's right.... This costco by far has the worst food service staff I have ever witnessed. Two in particular of the females in the food court counter are extremely rude, and when I asked for a cup of onions for my Hotdog, one lady gave me a small portion like 1/5th when I asked for a full cup like they do in all the other Costco locations she started to get an attitude with me & was complaining about giving me a regular size portion as if she was paying for it.
