Tire installation 19.99 per tire! It was easy to navigate the website, you can order it online and then schedule an appt. When I arrived at the appointment time, we were helped right away. Our appointment was on a Wednesday. The technician said it would take about an hour to an hour and a half. The tires have a 65k miles warranty! They called us right as they were done and we were able to get the car right on time. The service was great and convenient! I am extremely disappointed with the Costco Auto Center service. They do not know how to manage appointments and I do not recommend using their appointment system. Had an appointment at 1 pm and was told it would be between 1and 1 1/2 hour wait. I thought this was long for having an appointment but I figured at least I know up front. Over an hour later I noticed my car wasn't even moved from where I parked it yet. After inquiring I was told that the 1 and 1/2 hour wait was the wait time for starting the work on my car and that it could take even longer if they get backed up. How do they justify giving a 1 pm appointment and starting the work till at least 2:20? This is not an appointment system it is a scam so beware. I don't know how Costco can be happy with such horrible customer service. read more

I made an appointment and was told 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Ok, so I needed them and had already ordered and paid. It took well over 3 hrs with an appointment. Went in today, with an appointment. It took a long time for someone to even help me. I asked how long the repair would take. I was quoted 1 hr and 45 minutes....so probably another 3 hours. I took my car to get new tires, the technician broke a rim bolt which i understand it was an accident but i was expecting them to replace it or at least do something for me, but no. Manager said they don't do that type of work there and that they were not responsible for it. I called corporate and they told me the same thing, i don't understand so if there is a damage during a tire service the car owner is responsible for it not Costco ? I have bought tires from the Gilroy Costco tire center several times. Not only do they have a fabulous price, their warranty and service are second to none! I noticed one of my tires was a little low, I stopped by and Adrian was on it! He told me to park my car in the parking spot designated forair fill, after filling my tire, he suggested that I go inside and make an appointment for them to take a look at my tire, which probably has a very slow leak. I really appreciate Costco tires and they're incredible service. Adrian has been at the Gilroy location for about three years, he has been with Costco for seven years! We always stop at Costco Gas station on our way to and from LA. We were on our way to LA with 2 dogs in the car when we pulled up to fill the tank and noticed a flat tire. Their next appointment was at 7pm and we couldn't wait an entire day at Costco... Jose saved the day and took us in immediately and repaired our flat in 45 minutes! Tire rotation and balance. Made an appointment for service since making an appointment is highly recommended. Upon arriving on time, we were told the wait was one and a half hours. After one and a half hours, we were informed work could commence. After much in and out, they located our car. Actual work took only 35 minutes. Tire pressure was filled to over the recommended amount. The receipt advises to return after driving 25 miles to have the torque checked. I ordered a set of tires on the Costco website. After I ordered them, I scheduled an appointment to have them mounted at the tire center in Gilroy. This was approximately 2 weeks in advance. I scheduled the appointment for a Saturday morning appointment at 10am. The website instructs you to arrive 15 minutes early. So I arrived at precisely 9:45am. I figure it would probably take about 30-40 minutes to mount, balance and install the new tires on the vehicle. When I arrived I spoke with the employee at the tire center, to my shock he informed me that it would be at least 1 hour and 45 minutes to get the job done. What??? That is absurd, why did I even bother to schedule the appointment??? All said and done, I guess they did a decent job of getting the tires on the vehicle, but it ended up taking them 2 hours and 15 minutes. I will never go to this tire center again. I needed one tire replaced and my tire was under warranty so I figured it would be a quick "in and out situation". Boy was I wrong, took 10 BUSINESS days for me to get a new tire as they had to order it. Every time I called, no one knew the status of the order or if it even existed. I had one employee say "yeah I don't know where your tire is so what do you want me to do". Unreal, if I didn't have the tire under warranty, I would NEVER go back. Costco used to be the best place in town to get tires. I was a loyal customer for years, however no more. I went today to get a flat tire fixed. They looked at the tire and said that not only is it not repairable but that all of my tires needed to be replaced. I was pretty shocked because the tires are not that old. When I asked the sales clerk to show me the wear, he got really defensive. I asked him to please just show me the wear that he was speaking of. He points to the tread and says it's to worn down to be safe and I'm recommending new tires because of that. Ok so I don't know a whole lot about cars but I do know that there are markers in the tread that show the minimum depth which is 2/32. There are several millimeters of tread above that line. So I ask the clerk if he could show me the measurements. He got super flustered and starts back tracking about he's just making a recommendation and I don't have to do it. Please just measure and show me the measurements. So he measures ON the wear marker and says it's 4/32. Ok and the other tires that you're telling me need to be replaced are... he measures again ON the wear marker and they are all measuring 4/32 -6/32. The thing is he was taking this measurement above the wear marker... now correct me if I'm wrong but that is already 2/32, aren't the measurements supposed to be taken of the total depth not on those wear markers? This felt pretty dishonest and scammy, so I took my business to JC Custom Tires and Wheels. They were awesome! JC Custom Tires and Wheels fixed my flat right up, looked at my other tires and said I still have some good tread on them so good to go! The flat repair cost me $10 but that is well worth it for honest service. read more

Brought the car to Costco Gilroy to have tire rotation and balancing today 09/26/2020. They want to overcharge us when our car does not have TPMS. Tried to tell the service person that we just did the same service for our other car a few weeks ago or so here and was charged only $25.99 as many recently Costco reviewers said the same. He did not listen to what we were saying, interrupted us without even looking up from the keyboard, then dismissed it altogether with you-can-cancel-if-you-want-to. To top it off, he asked us to wait, then left the cashier station and did not return. After waiting for a while, we asked the original person who had first rung up for us to just cancel the appt and never mind about the battery that we were going to purchase as well. This is poor professionalism and definitely does not reflect the Costco service that we had come to know and loved. We have brought our car to Walmart just cross the street to have the same service done there while they did our Synthetic Oil Change. They charge $2.50 per tire for rotation and offer lifetime rotation and balance service for only $12.00. Which means less than 2x of Costco car rotation and balancing services. But to get things done in one place and save time, I often drop off my car, go shop, then pick up the car after and call it done. In our almost 40 yrs long having the membership, we often marvel and recommend Costco to everyone because we are very pleased with the professionalism in Costco service level. Needless to say, this was a very disappointing experience. I'd also suggest that Costco Tire & Auto center to post their service prices at the premise, and online, so members can clearly see what the charges will be for which service. We will not return to Costco Gilroy for tires service and hope that Costco Gilroy manager look into this to improve their Tire & Auto service and the pricing aspect. read more
