We had an emergency tire issue with the tires cupping and separating at the belts, when driving 40-50mph. Goodyear told us it was an emergency but was booked a week and half. We took it to cost as the tires were $250+ less and better quality. I get to Costco at 9am, a supervisor who was so pleasant and awesome escorted us to the tire center. The clerk, an older Filipino lady told us they had nothing today. But Saturday when we went to pay, they told us to come tomorrow, first come first serve. She said that is not true. Costco contradicted themselves on everything. We get the car and they left weights on the 2 front tires. It had to be brought back in, tires off, weights off. They denied they heard a noise. Next time I'll pay $250 somewhere else. Really was horrible customer service and bad communication, even getting the key, we went inside, they told us to go outside. Nothing is organized. Nothing makes sense. I was left feeling SPENT, and mentally exhausted! read more

Tires were put on in a timely matter but I spent more time trying to get my car back than they did putting the tires on. The worker at the desk called me out while I was waiting in line and told me to pick up my car outside. I waited for 15+ minutes for my car and even saw them take it out of the shop but no one came. I called the shop from outside and asked where I was supposed to pick up my car and the worker said I could pick it up outside but didn't explain that I had to go into the work area to get my key. He said "No! Do you even have your key yet? You're supposed to grab your key from the tech." I went back in the store to ask for my key back and the worker fought with me about me not going to get a worker from the work area to get my key back. I explained that I didn't know I had to go back there and that the workers were all working on cars when I passed by. He told me "No. There's definitely workers back there. You could have asked anyone" I was tired by that point and just asked for my key back. So he took me back into the shop and grabbed my key. I had to search for my car on my own after that.A misunderstanding turned into an argument from their end. read more

Costco Tire Center is still in business, but check in and purchasing has changed. There are no longer wait lines before the store opens. They recently began taking appointments, but I was able to walk in as the second vehicle this morning. If there is a long line at the store entrance, let them know you are there for the Tire Center. They will let you in at the front of the line. The store has a wide variety of tires in stock and offers $150 off when purchasing a set of 4 Michelin tires. We've brought all our vehicles here for tires. The wait can be long if you don't make an appointment or go at opening. read more

The stars are falling! This time it was my personal vehicle that needed a new set of shoes as they were nearing 7-years of age and showing signs of age with numerous hairline cracks on the tread. THE PROCESS: There's always a sale on tires at Costco. I jumped online, researched intensely and decided on four Michelins (Primacy MXM4's to be exact, with installation totaling $839.45). The tires arrived in 12 days in which I also received an email and phone call from the shop. Reservations were two days out. EXPERIENCE: Park in the marked tire shop stalls to the left of the garage. Their exterior entry door is no longer used so you have to go into the warehouse and cut through the cash registers to access the tire shop. Tommy assisted me (I've known him for years so of course service was excellent!) I was given an approximate installation time of an hour in which they bested by five minutes. Being that it was nighttime, I couldn't inspect my rims to check for any damage as I keep them in pristine condition, though I did notice they were covered in a Crisco-looking substance. The next day is when my worst fears came true as I went to clean my rims. I thought there might be damage by the machine that installs the tires on the rim but low and behold it was by human carelessness. Two of them have nicks on them from the lug nut gun, with one having additional damage to the lip of the rim by the center cap in which they made an actual crease in it with some tool. From afar they look fine but knowing that the damage is there by the negligence of humans is what makes me mad. You can obviously see that my rims have no "curb rash" on them so treat them accordingly!? OVERALL: They have a free first rotation and lug nut-tightening but you can bet I won't be subjecting my car to any further damage. read more

Yeah, we all know they're cheap and quick...but they can't even change tires properly - one of the simplest things to do on a vehicle - and they refuse to inform you when they've screwed up. This is going to make me seem stupid for continuing to give them my business, but the last 3 tire replacements with them has left me with damaged wheel studs (even broken off in one case) and/or cross-threaded lug nuts each and every time. And I've always had to find out after-the-fact, they've never once informed me of an issue when I pick the vehicle up. The third and last time I'll ever use them was roughly 2 weeks ago, I've attached photos from the day I picked my truck up. Again, no mention of any issues. On the second occasion, I went back and questioned them about the broken wheel stud - the guy just shrugged his shoulders and said "Oh, that must have been an aftermarket wheel stud", and walked away. What a pathetic response...I'm the original owner and know for a fact there's not an aftermarket part whatsoever on the drivetrain. It's completely useless talking to these people... they couldn't care less. For this bunch of incompetent fools, it's all about speed - get 'em in and out - and they know their average customer won't even notice their screw ups. Beware. read more

Came in to get my TMPS replaced. It's first come first serve so the best time to come would be before Costco actually opens. Dropped my truck off at 9:30 and got out sometime after 12 because I was originally only going to do 1 sensor but, I ended up needing to replace all 4 and also there was an unforeseen issue with my truck not accepting the relearn process. Would have probably gotten out sooner if I asked for 4 sensors from the start and my truck was obedient hahaha. This one of the cheapest places on the island that you can do it though. Spend $250 for 4 sensors when everywhere else I was getting quoted $400+ to replace all the sensors. More money in my wallet lol! I know Costco is always offering a deal when you purchase 4 tires so I would definitely go here if you're looking to get new tires. I also saw online they sell aftermarket rims if that's what you're looking for. Just be wary they don't do alignment for your vehicle though! Overall they offer fast, friendly, and reliable service and I would check here first if you need anything done with your vehicle. read more

The value of the CostcoTire Center pays for your membership fee many times over. For about $500 I had purchased four brand new tires. This included a rebate special at the time. The tire purchase included LIFETIME wheel and tire rotation. That's about a $60-$100 savings every time I rotate and balance those tires - which they also fill up with nitrogen as a plus. So far, I've rotated them twice, as instructed, so I've "saved" over a $100 so far with this "free" wheel and balance rotation service. After a rotation and balance service, I am advised to come back after 25 miles to have the lug nuts checked and tightened if necessary. Again, that lug check is included. With these rough roads on Maui (Hey, is anyone repairing the roads we use? Or just the roads to the airport and the hotels? Man.), it's important for the life of my car and safety that the wheels are checked and balanced every 6,000 miles. Some time after my purchase, one of my tires had gotten punctured by a screw. The repair cost was $3.00. Wow. Their tire center is open at 7:00am Monday through Saturday, so the times are convenient. A relative of mine was quoted $800 for a brand new set of tires, with balance and rotation additional. My mom pointed out that even if a Costco membership was only paid for, and used only once for that Tire Center, my relative would still save a ton of money. read more

I needed 4 tires for my Tacoma... and I was honestly a little nervous about what it was going to run me. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that Costco was $50 cheaper/per tire than I expected. They don't take appointments so it's first come, first served. He let me know that lunch is a good time: less people and more staff on duty. I dropped my truck off at 10:40 on a Thursday. Check-in was a breeze.He collected my info and told me that they'd call me when it was done: approx 2 hours. Phone rang at 12:30 like clock work. Picked it up and he told me to stop back next week to get the lug-nuts (or something? My hubby will know. I'm a girl. I didn't pay attention 100%..) checked--it's 5 minute process and it's included in the cost of mounting the tires. My truck rides SO nice. I'm super pleased with Costco tire! Even though Costco's website goes into great detail about the importance of wheel alignment in the life of a new set of tires, the Maui Costco doesn't perform wheel alignments. I guess they only want the profitable part of the business... that's the selling of profitable new tires but they don't really much care about preserving those tires' life span. Called the Tire Center twice, once to inquire pricing for a tire swap, I would be bringing in the tires. Second call was to verify the service I needed, tore swap, and to schedule an appointment. Day of the appointment I get there and they tell me they can't do it because I didn't purchase the tires from Costco. On the phone I explained what the circumstances were and I was not made aware of their policy during the call. They waited till I arrived at the store to tell me they couldn't fulfill their end of the commitment. Zero $!@#* were given by the managers. Unfortunately zero $!@#* will be returned to them in the future by me. read more

Recently we had a flat from a nail that decided to lodge itself into the frickin tire so we were not too thrilled to say the least. Fortunately all we needed was a repair and not a whole new tire. Even better news is that we bought new tires here 3 months ago so the repair was covered under warranty! Just a fair warning with ANY auto repair center, you can expect long wait times up to 2 hours or more which is what I was quoted but the repair was completed in about 1hr 20 minutes. The good thing about being at costco is that they have several aisles of products to look through and kill time. Aaron was the one who helped me out and I think he may have been a supervisor since he had a fancy white shirt while all the other guys had a dark blue shirt. I was really impressed with his professionalism and called right as soon as my car was ready for pick up. I did come on a Sunday and it didn't sound like they took appointments so it was first come first serve and I got there before it opened but as expected with costco there was a line before they even opened! Haha. I love supporting small businesses but based on yelp this seemed like the most trustworthy place. read more
