I regularly frequent this Costco even though I don't typically buy in bulk bits just hard to pass some of their good deals. However I hate coming here during peak hours and before big holidays. The parking may have a lot of spaces but there is supposed to be only one route of exit. I wanted to avoid coming in the Saturday before thanksgiving but ended up having to go in and oh boy... that line to exit took longer than me shopping inside and checking out... well I didn't take my time shopping but still! Took a lot of time. The layout of items at this location is pretty decent. Returns and customer service has been good. Sometimes the quick self pay registers at the cafeteria are out of service. Overall it's still Costco and has all your needs! Oh! And since there isn't a Yelp page for this location's gas station, I want to add that the gas station here def has the cheapest gas anywhere in the area. But it's not always worth driving out of your way for cheaper gas because them lines can get looooong. I must mention though that when I was pregnant, the manager always made it so that I would get assistance to fill up my car so as not to do it myself. Ugh, one day I will look forward to updating this review. But even with the magic of a gas station, this Costco has lost some of its magic during the crisis. On the one hand, great job triaging at the entrance. Definitely enforcing the 2 peeps/membership rule and keeping DC mask guidelines, plus they signpost their availability of high demand items at the front. However, they're struggling a bit even compared to other Costcos - their fresh chicken section is basically a converted pasta section for the last month. And checkout is a little chaotic - even with optical and hearing departments making a 10 item or less queue, still a lot of workers yelling not sure what's going on and definitely a collapse of social distancing. Honestly the third star is just for the gas station and the immediate proximity to Roaming Rooster. Won't probably do my heavy shopping here as I once did. read more

We were there around 3:00 PM on 9/2/23 Saturday. We went to the membership counter to try to purchase a gold star membership. This guy was very aggressive. He tried to convince us to get the executive membership instead of the gold star membership. He won't take no for answer and started to insult us. He was very rude and obsessed. He eventually sent us to the check out cashier to purchase the membership and we don't know why so we left without purchasing the membership. His behavior really turned us off and we just do not want to deal with it anymore. read more

Pretty standard experience. The big plus this location has over many others is that they sell alcohol. The prices are better than your local liquor store. Although they don't have every brand but they have the basics for your private bar or party. It's worth the drive to stock up. read more

Their food court menu includes Churro's, smoothies, a chicken bake, hot dogs and, açaí bowls. Now, most Costco's require a membership ($60-$120 with an additional application fee) in order to go to the food court, however you may find one that doesn't. Nonetheless the pie pictured is from the 2441 Market St., N.E. Washington D.C. location, the parking is superstore parking so it exists, and the customer service will plausibly be a reflection of the kind of customer you are. This is the only Costco in the DMV (that I know of) that sells beer, wine, and liquor. It's right off New York Ave./Route 50 so I frequently come here to stock up for beach trips. I've generally had great experiences as Costco tends to be pretty consistent across their locations. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience my last time here. My cart was loaded full of stuff: a box of 12 bottles of wine, multiple cases of bottled water, tissues, and pillows. I stood in the first checkout line for about 10 minutes only to have it go down and have to go to another (long) line. I hand the cashier my member card and my ID. I don't even get a "hello" from her. She scans everything, gives me my total, I pay, then leave. While walking back to my car, I reviewed my receipt. Included in those 12 bottles of wine were 3 bottles of champagne - 2 bottles of Veuve Cliquot ($46/each) and 1 bottle of Kirkland champagne ($20). The receipt showed 3 bottles of Veuve Cliquot. The box of wine is still buried under everything else in the cart, so when I get back to my car, I unload everything and review the receipt again; the cashier definitely overcharged me. I went back to the store, had to go back to my car to get my mask because I had forgotten I took it off while unloading, and go to the returns desk. I wait in line for 10 minutes there only to be told to go wait in another line. I wait there for another 10 minutes to finally have them make the adjustment. All in all, a pretty crappy experience. I would expect this at Walmart, but I feel like Costco has set the gold standard when it comes to retail. So I would have given a lower review, but I called the warehouse to file a complaint. It was very hard to get through to a manager, but I eventually reached Mandy. She apologized and assured me she'd get back to me the next day. Sure enough, she followed up with me the following day saying she had reviewed the cameras and talked to the employees involved. She was extremely professional, polite, and sincere in her apology. Hurry up and wait! The only reason I come to this Costco as opposed to others in the area, is that they sell bulk wine. Getting in to park is not easy with all the orange cones everywhere. Getting out of the parking lot is much worse. Expect to wait for everything. Once I get the wine, I may pick up a few items to make it worth my while to stand in line so long. I made a huge mistake today. I went to this store to return something I purchased there (Insta Crate (more like Insta Break - do not buy it). I, AND THE OTHERS HAD TO WAIT IN LINE 25 MINUTES JUST TO RETURN SOMETHING! The line was not long, there were only 5 people in front of me. Apparently there was only one person (out of three at the return desk) who was able to perform a return. One worker was just standing around looking like he needed something to do. I would think that he would have helped, but he just stood there waiting for something, not sure what. You would have thought that since they noticed how long we were standing there (blocking people from being able to get their carts OUT of the building) they would have called for help, but no. I guess I will pay more for liquor and avoid this particular store altogether. read more

This is a review for the Costco Vision Center, although I think this Costco is very good, with a broad variety of items and good prices, I was unable to find a separate category to review this department. The vision Center is adjacent to the Novi Eye office. I have had prescriptions filled here on several occasions. Quality is good, lens Rx is accurate, as is value. Kofi helped me with excellent suggestions on frames and lenses & was great. Engaging, sharp, friendly and professional. He made this a very pleasant experience. Here's what you need to know: BEST Wine, Whiskey, and craft beer selection of any Costco ever. ALWAYS VERY BUSY but cashiers work fast to clear the line. As always with Costco, friendly staff. Love this Costco. It has a superior liquor and wine selection as compared to event he beat and busiest locations in the country. Incredible hard to find bottles of whiskey ranging from $40 to $4,000. Rare Bordeaux wines going back 15 years, and hard to find Napa gems. I was very impressed. The cheese selection is vast and complementary to all the amazing Vino. They also have an enormous selection of alcoholic beverages that is unmatched in any other Costco in the area. As for customer service, they are awesome! This Costco is cool. Same ol setup but apparently it's more awesome because this Costco sells liquor and the prices are great! The one bad thing about this location is at the tire shop. The tire shop is pretty basic, but the pitfall is the inability of the employees to call customers when the service on their cars have been completed. True Story #1: I bought a set of four tires here, dropped my car off at 930am (when they open) for the install and went to Starbucks (across the parking lot) to wait. Around 2pm I get off a conference call, and I realize that "It's F&ckin 2pm?!? Where's my car?!" So I call and I don't get an answer. So I walk back across the lot and go to the desk. There are about 5 people in front of me, suffering in this slowwwww line! I finally get to the desk and, of course, the clerk tells me "wayment I be right back.." and he leaves for an extended period of time. He casually slinks back about 6 min later and takes my information. Types it in, digs through the drawer, produces my keys and says "oh your car BEEN ready champ!" Me: oh yeah, why didn't anybody call me. I've been at Starbucks spending money since 930! Him: i o e n o dawg, somebody should've called you. Did you check you voicemail? Me: yeah, but nobody called. Him: *shrug* sorry man I don't eem know what happened but you should be straight now. Me: True Story #2: I get some sort of industrial sized screw in my tire so I take it to Costco to get the screw removed since "all Costco tires come with road hazard protection." Been a faithful customer of this location for the past 4 or 5 years. Like, we go at least twice a week but first time experiencing the Tire Center. My boyfriend walks in and needs a new tire the clerk says about an hour and half wait (cool no problem) he gives her the key and walks away(and they make you purchase upfront, BIG MISTAKE) . About an hour into the "service" he gets a call from the clerk asking if he has his key and did he get his car. He answered confusingly, no and they realized that they gave his car key to another customer who had already left. Two hours after the "service" began and after realizing they fxxked up they are now telling me to drive down to the store to give him the spare key. And they asked the customer to drive back to the store. So now they are wasting time for three customers. When I arrived 45 mins later, I see the car sitting in the parking lot and still does not have a new tire!! (You would think that while they were trying to fix that issue they would at least put the tire on) At this point my boyfriend had been walking around Costco for 3 hours! Finally, thank God the customer comes back to the store, we get the key back. And they gave us $50 for our troubles which barely cut the cost of the tire given they were giving me gas money... But wait! There's more! We still didn't have the tire put on.... So..... We had to wait another 30 to 45 mins... After speaking with the managers who just make excuses for the problem and do not hold any accountability for their actions, I think it's safe to say we will not return our cars there!! read more

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they need to make more Rotisserie chicken. It sells out fast. The employees are friendly, shelves are always stocked and fruit and vegetables are fresh. This management staff has no respect for the elderly whatsoever. I witnessed a son attempt to speak with a manager about purchasing some items for his Mom who was waiting in the car. She was immobile but the Costco card was hers. He understood the rules and asked a manager to just step outside to verify her ID so he could purchase 2 items. They refused. They suggested that she use one of the mobilized wheel chars and come in. He continued to express that she could not operate them due to mobility issues and if they could just step right outside where the car was parked in a Handicap space. They refused. When the son relayed this to his Mom, in frustration she came inside. This took 30 minutes using a walker and with the assistance of her son and some good samaritans. She sat upfront while her sons grabbed the 2 items she needed and checked out. She has since canceled her membership and refused to patronize anything from the brand. She is my neighbor which is why I know the story. I as well have stopped going on principle. read more

I experienced the worse service ever from the tire center at Costco. I first got there at 10:15 on Wednesday my tire had a nail in it. They did not have my tire so it was ordered. Thursday evening I received the call that my tire was in. I asked if Friday morning would be okay. Friday morning at 10:15 I was told it would be a 5 hours wait!!! So I made an appointment for Saturday at 10. I stood in line until 10:25 and finally gave my keys and waited for a call that my car was done. At 12:30 no call but I went to check but no one at the desk. I see my car in the lot parked to the side. Finally at 12:50 one of the men came out and gave me my keys. But the original man who was to work the desk lied and said my car just got fixed. I had seen my car for every since I walked over to the tire center. What a waste of my time. Although the price on alcohol is good, I would avoid this location at all costs as the service is subpar. I've been a member of Costco since 1989, when it was called Price Club. In the past 18 months, have had 2-3 experiences of racial discrimination at this location by their employees. The 1st time, it was brought to the attention of the manager, as an employee would not provide assistance at the jewelry stand. He provided prompt attention to those of color but was ignorant of other customers...even when assistance was requested. Today, arrived at 5:30pm. Shopped, checked out and, upon inspection, realized an item was forgotten. In returning to the aisle to pick up the item, I was met by 3 employees (all of color), acting as bouncers. I informed them I forgot to get an item and needed a moment to grab the item and would be very quick. A lady asked what it was and she would get it for me. As I was speaking with her, a male employee ordered her not to help and stood in my face telling me "no one was allowed to enter the aisles beyond where they stood". The front of the house manager, was close by, came over and firmly said "it's closing time and you need to leave". Upon leaving, a few customers (of color) who witnessed the incident, asked if the employees were able to get the product. To know me is to know I love Costco & have been shopping there for years. However, yesterday evening for the first time at this establishment, my guest and I were profiled and the way management handled the situation was disgusting. As with all warehouses, sometimes you come across beat up boxes or packaging. Apparently my guest had come across a half beat up pack of batteries & thought he could get a discount for the damaged packaging. After deciding he no longer wanted the batteries he sat them down & we continued shopping. As We are checking out, I was approached aggressively by a man, who threw a pack a beat up batteries in my face at the register & tells me I need to pay for them or have my membership revoked! He identifies as LP. I was so baffled and confused by this. He goes on to say I know your guest was trying to steal them.. mind you this is a huge warehouse size pack of batteries. My guest has nothing. No bag, no pockets & snug fitted clothing. My guest steps in and says he has no idea what this man is talking about and try's to explain the batteries were already in that condition the moment he picked them up. The batteries are still in tact and in pack and honestly you could tell it was just beat of packaging This man is still in MY face threatening to revoke my membership if I don't pay. My guest ask to roll the cameras back... that never happened. Instead LP calls over a manager. The manager does not identify himself by name and had no name tag. He was short, & Hispanic (identification purposes) As we're trying to sort through this LP tells the cashier to VOID MY TRANSACTION & WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO PAY FOR MY GROCERIES AS HE WAS STILL THREATENING TO REVOKE MY MEMBERSHIP! The manager was a piece of work! This man tells me well "LP SAID"... not we saw the cameras... not we saw it happen but "LP SAID" this packaging became this way because he believes my guest was trying to steal them. As I try to explain I tell management that is not the case & if it was this ADULT MALE IS STANDING HERE TRYING TO ADDRESS THE ACCUSATIONS BUT HE CONTINUED TO BERATE ME! I was told it's my membership and my guest is my responsibility so I need to pay or have my membership revoked than he goes on to tell me I need to read the MEMBERS HANDBOOK... somebody please tell me if they were ever offered or informed of such??? I had this membership for over a decade. I than ask why are you still addressing me in such a tone when we have clearly explained the issue?? Why not just run the cameras back? FURTHERMORE, WHY ARE YOU IN A FEMALES FACE TRYING TO INTIMIDATE & HUMILIATE HER WHEN A GROWN MAN IS TRYING TO ADDRESS YOU REGARDING HIS ACCUSATIONS?! The manger got smart with me and said " I already explained that so idk why you keep asking the question" & goes on to say fine I'll be understanding & let you get your groceries but next time be a better judge of the guest you bring. Excuse me! This man has never stole anything and we have gone to multiple stores plenty of times! Managers response "Maybe he been stealing"At this point I'm completely offended and upset. My guest is still requesting footage of his "alleged theft" as he is speaking with LP, management returns to me, after letting me know I can check out and continue on, decides to continue to try an humiliate & berate me! Tells me sorry but I'm going have to charge you for the batteries... sir, what! I'm not paying for these, we had nothing to do with these profiled accusations! Furthermore, you just told me " you understand and I was free to continue check out" He than further let's me know how my membership ONCE AGAIN should be revoked & than further insults my intelligence but explaining what revoke means.. He was well aware I understood . It was the most horrible experience ever.. as a woman I felt intimidated and attacked & as a black woman I felt insulted and profiled. Had I been of similar race or white this man would have never even approached me in such a manner. There was complete lack of respect, professionalism, & customer service. If my guest was a tall white man instead of a black man with dreads... perhaps they would have actually fact checked there accusations & ran the footage back as requested. You wanted a reason to be rude and nasty and honestly probably wanted to actually revoke my membership but you had no grounds to except the word of an LP & his ridiculous profiled assumptions. I will review this disgusting behavior on every site as well as send a heartwarming letter to cooperate. For the most part Costco is a relatively good bargain for your membership. They have great selections for meats, seafood and clothing, just about any home kitchen appliances. Prices vary as to what is most sought after, salmon, beef, the quality of their is excellent. Their recalls alerts are posted online and sent out to any member who purchased the item. However around 6:30pm 10/12/21 a older lady stood at the entrance talking like she at home to an old friend who had a cart blocking the entrance while everyone just walked past without even showing their cards. Plus this costco has a gas station. 93 ultra was $2.85 which is cheap in comparison to NYC prices. Too bad i got to the store at 8:15pm; we were cut short with our shopping at 840pm as they were closing registers. The store closed at 8:30pm; we were out by 9pm. read more

As you may know, it is my goal to go to every Costco in the country. Even as a big box retailer, they tend to have regional differences and this one is no different. Hawaii may have bulgogi bake but DC has alcohol...and lots of it! I must have walked down their liquor aisles about a thousand times eyeing their rows and rows of discounted happy juices. Vietnamese people listen up: they got Henny and Remy by the gallon and it's at a great price. They even have Kirkland Signature whiskey, vodka and rum for those looking at getting an even better steal. When gas is $3.99 on Capitol Hill at Exxon, or $3.64 a Shell locations in the district, then you get to Costco and it is $2.67, how can you beat that? I literally go get gas even when I have 3/4 of a tank already for some fear it might disappear. And the alcohol, I mean 1.75 L of Jim Beam (my favorite) for $20.89, 1.75 L of Captain Morgan for $20.89, 1.75 L of Jack Daniels for roughly $28.99, etc. They carry Patron, Grey Goose, a smaller bottle of the Jim Beam signature craft series, a variety of scotch, ton of wine, 750mL craft beer, and a ton of other stuff I don't drink yet. Oh wait, don't forget the 24 pack of yuengling for $15.99 or 24 pack of Sam Adams Octoberfest for $23.99ish. And the deli section. A packaged turkey torta (ton of turkey, provolone, tomato, lettuce, on cibatta) and 1/2 caesar salad, all for $6.99. Or a dinosaur size rotisserie chicken for $4.99. Or a full caesar salad for $7.99, or shrimp ring or chicken salad or, etc etc etc So yeah, the rest of the store. Conveniently located right off I-50 if you're headed into DC, or off South Dakota Avenue if headed outbound. Parking and traffic can be a little congested at times but they have attendants who really streamline cars in and out better than many police officers I know. Inside, the entire staff is efficient and friendly. The store is kept clean even when a million people are inside. Of course the rest is bulk shopping or really discounted electronics and whatnot. Saw some great Xbox One and PS4 deals inside. In short, I'm a fan. read more

No secret why everyone comes to this location...the ALCOHOL!!! In the upper class neighborhoods, the stores are called "Wine and Spirits Store" but what I"m more familiar with is, "The Liquor Store!" Either way you slice it, Costco's prices for their alcohol is very reasonable. Anything from gin, to vodka, to beer, they have it all. They even have a really nice selection of wine here. Don't get it wrong though, they don't have all of the specialty or new products in stock because it's not an actual liquor store, but it does have the more popular items. Other than that, it's like your average Costco anywhere else in the state. They have a gas station, plenty of reasonably priced gifts/household items and wholesale food/beverages. The employees I encountered were really friendly and helpful. I've never been on a Saturday, but I hear it can be a pain after a certain time. Do yourself a favor and get a membership. It's worth it for the alcohol alone. read more
