If you're wondering where everyone in Bakersfield is on a Sunday--they're busy doing their shopping for the week at Costco! The parking lot is fully packed and there's hardly enough room to maneuver your cart through the crowd. It's actually a very unpleasant experience, but you go through it to get the deals and great selection that Kirkland offers. Despite the crowds, they do their very best to get you in and out. They have done their best to streamline their "self-checkout" process. However, the Costco Food Court lines are crazy long, and move at different paces based on who is attending to it. I wish they did have drink carriers, since the hot dog is a common item that is ordered and it comes with a drink. Those drinks stack up and it would be convenient to have a drink carrier to manage all of the drinks. They recently added chicken tenders to their menu, and I don't recommend them. You get 5 tenders for $6.99. They come with a Chick-Fil-A-type sauce, but it doesn't help cover just how salty the tenders are on their own. And they were extra salty! The strawberry banana smoothie also tasted very processed. I wouldn't recommend that either. I miss the classic berry smoothie they used to offer back in the day. I'll stick to the Costco hot dog deal. read more

Continously run in to issues with this Costco and that has been ongoing over the last few years. My biggest issue about this particular Costco is the front end/register employees and the entry/exit employees. I understand that their interactions are probably some of the more mentally taxing when it comes to customer service, but I have been to many Costco locations and this is the ONLY one I ever seem to leave feeling frustrated with the tone, rigidness, and words exchanged. I will say that the sales floor employees (food samples, deli, and occasionally floaters on the floor or fillers) tend to be pretty nice and on the opposite end of the spectrum, I usually have more pleasant interactions at rosedale Costco on the sales floor vs other locations I rarely remember a sales floor interaction. The gas area used to be very difficult, long lines. They remodeled it last year to accommodate more traffic and put in the sensors. It is consistently a quick and positive experience now. Because of my multiple encounters with negativity at the registers here, I do tend to purposefully go to the Panama Costco where I have never had a single negative interaction with an employee. I definitely recommend that location over this one. read more

Costco Bakersfield has killer TV displays--big screens right next to matching stands, perfect for sizing up your next gaming, movie or Superbowl setup. Online, their selection's even bigger with free delivery on most sets, plus free mounting and install options. Snack bar's always on point, Great pizza and the chocolate chip cookie make a cheap $6 lunch with a drink. Chicken bake's gone downhill though--the rubbery,tough chunks remind me of canned chicken in more chicken mushy, salty non creamy mess, not the fresh bite it once was, They even have a vehicle key making truck that shows up occasionally and their cost is half the price of the dealer. Costo is still a go-to spot despite that one flop, especially for TV & Rotisserie Chickens. read more

This review is on the food court. The ordering here is fast but also crowded especially the ones that just aid for the Costco items and want to leave. We ordered a pizza and a calzone to try. I thought it was going to take a few mins but this is where the review is taking stars away. Their food is made in bulk to the lines go fast, the pizza had the I've been out for a min taste and the calzone was missing flavor, quality, and quantity of ingredients inside. I do miss the combination pizza but if you like that gas station flavored pizza, Costco is it. read more

The new Chef salad, not as big as the Caesar salad we all knew and loved. It does have a lot of the same ingredients, croutons, and the plain Romain lettuce. It does come with rotisserie chicken, cheddar cheese that is shredded,real bacon bits, and cherry tomatoes. it comes with a peppercorn ranch and a packet of chopped deviled egg. The devil egg itself is a little chewy. I wouldn't recommend adding it to the salad. Overall, the salad had a good flavor for $7.99 and coming from Costco I would think it to be a little bigger however it's about half the size of the Caesar salad. Door opens early for the Executive Members and 9:30am for other members. Not sure what people might complain about I know you get those shoppers who blocks the way when you just trying to shop. But you will get that almost anywhere you go to shop. You can't beat $1.50 for Hotdog and a drink or the pizza. If you know what you're getting there shouldn't be any problem when you shop. Yeah it sucks when they change these around when you're used to where things were at. But it seem more convenient when you shop it's all in one place. read more

I love this Costco. Although it is always busy. Got to find time that is not so busy to find parking spot.

NEVER take your car here for tires! We had an appointment for four new tires at 4:45pm. We paid $1,055. We left Costco at 7:25pm with three new tires. They could not remove one of the wheels. They told me it was so torqued on that the only way to remove it would be to break the stud. They told us to get it fixed and then come back for the last tire. We took the car to the dealer to inspect the studs and remove the wheel. We paid the dealer $166 to remove the lugs. They said two of the lugs were a little tight, but they had no problem removing them, and the studs were fine. The dealer seemed confused as to what the issue was because it wasn't hard for them to remove the lugs. We took the car back to Costco and they took over an hour to change that final tire once the car was in their bay. They offered no recourse for taking 4 hours to do this simple job or for making us pay to have someone else loosen a slightly tight lug nut. I will NEVER return to Costco for tires again and I am canceling my membership all together. read more

Who can make a 3 star review for a place like Costco. I can only see anyone making a 1-3 star review, being that person who returns a stick because their plant died. What can I say about Costco. Somewhat lower prices and probably one of the better retail stores with a decent meat selection. Produce...ehhh. Seems most of their fruits and veggies come from cold storage facilities, so they have a very short shelf life. Meats, cheeses and snack foods it is one of the better options. Great flower selection and they're really picking up the free snacks on every other isle. Don't feel like getting into each individual items but overall they're have stuff for almost half the price as other big box stores and their meat selection is choice, along with some other great selection. Hate when they change the isles around but I know that's just a marketing strategy. Ohhh... and you still can't beat the $1.50 hot dog and soda and the other options at their food court. read more

Our usual stop when driving back to CA from Las Vegas. Quality/Quantity - Expensive gas prices, in relation to other Costco locations and of course compared to LV gas prices. Decent selection of microbrews, but only one local; see pictures. Saw my first Costco food court cookie in LV, they have it here also. Looks like all Costcos have it now. Atmosphere - Consistent. Open 7 days a week from 9:30am or 10am to 6pm or 8:30pm, see picture, Yelp, or their website. Service - Self service. Price - Higher than all the other Costcos I shop. Both the gas prices and beer. With these prices, I need to start to reconsider if this should continue to be our regular stop... Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 1985. The other day at Costco, it was a madhouse! Almost every single shopping cart was filled overflowing - with none other than EGGS! Seems as though almost everyone was "SCRAMBLING FOR EGGS!" (OK, PUN intended!!!). Costco is more-than generous allowing its members to buy in such huge quantities of this presently-coveted item, unlike many other grocers. Wow. Me, on the other hand, had to return some items for exchange. At the return desk, there was a wait, but I did not mind at all. NOT at all. Just watching those employees at this post was a treat! I was captivated watching their composure, their kindness, their helpfulness. Unmatched these days. Especially one woman in particular, "Mina" is her name. This woman is 'The Rock of Gibraltar!' Calm, cool, collected, knowledgeable, helpful - simply captivating. I finally asked her "How do you stay so composed amidst all of this?" and Mina shared her secrets with me! Now, who in this post in the midst of a madhouse would do that? Huh? I complemented her and said, "Mina, I'd jump over this counter and give ya a hug and a kiss if I wouldn't get in trouble!!!" And we both just roared. What wonderful people work at this Costco location. Wonderful! Hats off to every single one of them! Every one - especially my ROLE MODEL NOW - MINA. They ignored me while being in front of me just looking at their phones until I said excuse me for the 4th time. They also messed up my order twice and gave me a cup without a straw. Excellent customer service and safe location! We stopped at this Costco in Bakersfield (Rosedale) during our road trip from the Bay Area to NV, UT and CO during the Christmas holiday. Because we traveled in large group, nobody felt responsible for the items we purchased and we inadvertently left the cart with our items in front of the store entrance. Despite multiple attempts to speak to the customer service that night (the people at the pizza/deli department and at the tire shop did their best to redirect our calls to the customer service), we could not reach the customer service, and at some point the internet connection became choppy when we entered some remote areas. When we returned home, two weeks later, my husband called the store to see if anything could be done. The friendly lady who answered the call was able to confirm that our items were actually left behind and kept safe inside the store. Wow! Because we live four hours away, she and her manager helped us issue a refund. Thank you, Costco. We are thankful to God for Costco's excellent customer service and for the Bakersfield community's integrity. read more

I made an appointment to get my tires rotated and it was so easy and didn't take long. The guy who helped me was so nice and helpful. After I left the keys for him, my boys and I went to eat lunch. It was busy at noon but we got our food right away and sat outside to eat. The food was delicious as always and the tables outside were clean. After we finished our lunch we walked around inside and I have to say the organization of this location compared to the Panama location is on point. Flan I could not buy and eat because I was traveling ... see the picture . So hot in July to eat out but they do have huge ventilators to help people avoid passing out. Thank God they have a few trees in the parking lot. The wait for the gas was terrible but it was cheap ha ha A lot of testing inside but unfortunately I couldn't buy anything especially in this heat. I recently had a tire emergency. One of my front tires was damaged on the side wall. Abner was so kind as he informed me that not only could it not be repaired, but that Michelin was no longer making that tire. Meaning that I had to buy Two tires not just one. Abner & David his manager found tires that were compatible so at least I didn't have to buy four. Also I was given credit for the life left in the tires. It made an expensive purchase much more palatable. I felt both Abner & David went above & beyond in their service. I have been buying my tires from Costco for many years and highly recommend them. They have road damage coverage which means ( for those of you who might not know) they measure the mileage left on the tires and give a discount for this on your new tire purchase. Years ago I purchased tires elsewhere and two months in had irreparable tire damage and there was no damage coverage. I won't make that mistake again! The price point is great. They do not make appointments, it's a first come first serve basis. read more

Put dates on the pre-made salads that are sold in the food Court. Today I bought a salad from the food court.It looked pretty on top it had all the packaging, all the condiments, but when I got home and put it into a bowl, every piece of lettuce was wilted or almost liquefied. I was just gonna toss it out and take the loss I did not want to make that thirty minute drive back to costco , but I was so disgusted at how the salad looked.I made that thirty minute drive back down to costco to return the salad that was uneatable. This review is solely regarding membership renewal at this point. I recently decided to renew at this location and thought it would be an easy process, pay a fee and update some information, Boy was I wrong! In a nutshell, it took FOREVER and I believe it was because they push the Executive memberships and credit card, and if you say No, they send in the big guns who maybe used to sell time shares!? I had to download the APP, change passwords and identify my identity as well as attach a credit or debit card to the membership card, for which I still have suspicions about. All of this with very bad WiFi and Costco's password requirements. The former timeshare guy who came to "help" the person renewing my membership was Suave but relentless in his efforts to sell me an Executive membership. In the end it was subtly brought up that maybe I couldn't afford the Executive Membership and perhaps it took so long to renew because I made mistakes in my APP downloading and password changing. !??! ( umm NO) At one point I was so done with what should have been a simple process that I wanted to get a refund on my $60 membership and run, but I didn't. On a positive note, The checkout people were awesome! The name Brian is on my receipt. If not for stellar checkout customer service, I probably would have asked for a membership refund and never looked back! Apparently there are a lot of complaints about Costco pushing the Executive Memberships and credit card and not taking No for an answer. read more

Beyond horrible. I've never frequent this location because of the traffic but on a Sunday evening I came by for some quick items. Now when I was exiting, I was missing 1/4 receipts for my items. I had split my transactions on two cards, and also stopped at the food court. The gang of Costco guardians stopped me faster than TSA. Costco Manager Katie - horrible guest relations skills, her attempts to infuriate me and escalate the situation by telling me not to return and go to Sam's club was hilarious. She demanded I go back to customer service and request a reprint of receipt, I told her she can do that. I don't work here, I'll wait with the other posse Costco guardians. I'm not sure if she was upset because she indeed did work there, or I wouldn't listen to her orders as if I were clocked in along with her. The other two Costco guardians (Jesse & Jacob) joined in to defend their co worker. Neglecting the other precious receipts not being glanced out walking out without an issue. Jacob was as surprised as I was about how the situation got escalated. He did attempted resolve the situation but even with his 20 years of experience, Katie & Jesse couldn't care less and stood their Costco Team Member ground. Magically, another co worker returned from the abyss with a reprint of my receipt and calmed the Costco Guardians down & I was free to leave. My membership just expired and I will not ever return. Sam's Club is just as good if not better with less people & a better return policy. read more

Stupid cheap packaging strikes again...Everyone is charging more and getting cheaper by the day!!! This is not the first time I tried buying crescent rolls and had the container open throwing the rolls all over the ground! This thing is as thin as they can make it without there being nothing around them at all and don't get me started on the part that locks, or better said doesn't lock!!!
