Costco's cheese pizza is usually my absolute go-to, but this visit was disappointing. A portion of the crust was missing, and the overall texture of the pizza felt softer than usual. I'll still say it upfront -- when it's made right, this is one of the best value cheese pizzas out there. But this time it just wasn't up to standard. I have a love/hate relationship with this Costco location. Let's start with the love. I love that this Costco offers more Asian products - from the snacks to the beauty products, this Garden Grove location seems to carry the most variety compared to other Orange County locations. The gas prices are lower compared to most other locations. What I hate about this location is how busy it is. So many people seem to come to this one. Even after moving the Costco gas station to a completely separate area to make more room for parking, it is still a mess in the parking lot. This location just gets a ton of customers and it's not Costco's fault. The customers can be rude and pushy (literally). I don't recall having any negative interactions with the people who work here, so they are good in my book. The reason why I still give this location a four star instead of three is because the opening time at 9am for Executive members allows me to beat the busy crowds at this location. Yes, they still have a sizable amount of people who shop here at 9am, but it is far more manageable compared to the regular business hours when everyone is here. read more

2/27/26 Have I been at this location? Not sure. Hubby just happened to be looking for an air pump for his bike (the Irvine Costco didn't have it). I took advantage to redeem my cash back/reward. For me, ideally, out of habit, I prefer the entrance on the RIGHT side as you enter a Costco warehouse. It's what I'm accustomed to navigating. It's a score! I didn't take too many photos. I was just doing a cursory look and check out if they have items that they don't offer at other locations. I told Hubby that I would find a digital scale here, but he said that they would not have it because it's not a large "scale" operation lol. Ha! I won the argument. It happens to be on sale & I used the rewards card to purchase it. What a great value! I didn't encounter staff at this visit but everything appears to be well maintained & organized here. I noticed the food court is indoors at this location--maybe it's for the best especially on a hot day such as today (what!? 94°F in February!?). Prices are equally comparable to other locations. i love the costco here but today i experienced pretty bad service. they changed their self checkout machines and while i was scanning my things it told me that i needed a member to help scan a certain item and we told one of the workers. She then argued with us and said that we didn't even scan it until we scanned it again. and then we forgot to cancel the assistance thingy so when we pressed pay it called the worker back. i said we forgot to press cancelled she was like "oh my gosh" and rolled her eyes. like sorry for making u do ur job? i didn't get a good look at her name tag but it happened august 5 at 7:20 before she got switched out by some other man. if not found, can the costco workers please just teach their employees more respect? thanks read more

Can't believe I've never reviewed this place. I've been coming for over 10 years. The staff is friendly and helpful when I had questions. The biggest problem with the place is the clientele. Costco can't fix that so it's not their fault but I know it's a problem. I don't know why so many act like jerks here, but I always go right at opening so I avoid the problem. I came to the reviews today because I called in on Wednesday to have 4 pizzas(2 cheese, 2 pepperoni) ready for pick up on Friday at 10am. My son was having a Thanksgiving feast at school to celebrate the last day before break and I volunteered to bring pizzas. Most pizza places don't open until 11am but I needed to drop them off by 1030am. This is why costco pizzas are always my go to. I arrived at the pick up window for my pizzas at 10:05am and they were ready to go, I didn't even have to ask them to double cut the pizzas. And always so nice about plates, cheese, and peppers. You just can't best bring XL pizzas for $9.99! Definitely recommend the food court here. I love their soft serve ice cream as well. read more

The food court is indoors which is a bit of a double edged sword. I really like our local Costco. They always have a lot of new items. The warehouse is clean and the AC is very good in summers. The fruits might be too ripe sometimes but they replaced them pretty quickly with new ones. One thing I did not like is they tried to display too many things: house, clothes, garden, toys, food, fruits, sheds, trees, drinks... the aisles got smaller, harder to push the carts around, especially if there are stations giving out samples. The prices are ok, lots of sales. The cashiers and return lines are pretty fast. The exit lines are ok, depending on who we're checking. Overall, it's a good local Costco :) read more

Bottom Line Up Front: As much as I love Costco, I try to avoid this location when possible, sadly. This review is not a reflection of the company itself or the employees who work there, but rather my shopping experience as a whole. Let's start with the pros... The Products: Like any Costco, this branch offers a wide range of items in bulk. That's great if you want to stock up and save over the long run. Plus, being in Garden Grove, there are more Asian food choices and ethnic treats sold here. Another bonus. The Employees: Every staff member I encountered was well trained and polite. The cashier during my last visit, Jess, was fast and friendly -- an excellent combination. The Location: Here comes some of the cons of shopping here.... This branch is located in Garden Grove, not far from the 22 Freeway. This makes it a convenient stop for people from all over central Orange County. That can make the parking lot a mess, especially on the weekends. But you might say, "What Costco parking lot isn't?" The problem is that Garden Grove is densely populated, so sometimes during peak hours the traffic leading to this Costco makes it even crazier. The Gas Station: This location has its own gas station that sells some of the cheapest fuel in the county -- yes! But this contributes to the traffic getting snarled -- boo! The Shoppers: Here's my main gripe about this location. The people who shop here are extremely inconsiderate and totally unaware of those around them, more so than any other Costco I've been to -- and I have visited Costcos in multiple states and in three countries. During my last visit, as I headed to the exit, someone left their power-assisted scooters beside the Customer Service lanes, blocking half the walkway. Then a clueless man decided to stop, leave his cart beside the scooter, and walk over to the Customer Service counter -- basically blocking me and everyone else from leaving. That's just one instance out of many in which inconsiderate shoppers almost plow into me or just mindlessly leave their carts in the middle of an aisle. And when you move their cart out of the way or politely ask them to move, they stare at you as if you've done something wrong. This happens on occasion at other Costcos, but it seems like the norm here. The Conclusion: The Costco here offers great variety and has excellent employees, but I can't stand the traffic or the inconsiderate shoppers. I avoid this location when possible and only go here when there's a big sale on Asian offerings, and even then I go about 20 minutes before it closes to avoid the rude crowds. read more

One of the worst locations for Costco. Employees are rude and not friendly. The gal at self-checkout needs to re-evaluate herself. She does not offer to help scan items when a cart is filled with heavy items. She's standing there laughing with her coworkers while shooting dirty looks. Older, heavy set, blonde with curls, and acrylic nails. Please just help out to expedite the process with the Costco members, it would be so very appreciated! I hit Costco over the holidays! Normally, Costco is too much food for me and the hubby. When it comes to the holidays though, you need more food to feed more people. That's not a bad thing. I'm thankful to have family and friends to spend the holidays with! I grabbed a shrimp cocktail for a Christmas party. I also had to pickup a gift card for my sister in law. I got her a Nintendo gift card for a Christmas present. She's a big gamer, so it was perfect. Good value for the gift card too! I saved 10 bucks on the gift card. The manager , Andy Le and his assistant (I believe her name was Erika) gave my husband's grandma excellent customer service. They were kind, patient, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very professional and organized with helping my husband's grandmother with a hearing test and getting her fitted for hearing aids. Very disappointed with the experience at the Garden Grove store. The checker at the exit door acted as if customers were hiding merchandise under infant clothes, which felt uncomfortable and disrespectful, even though there were only three items on the large shopping cart: two sets of infant clothes and one watermelon, all laid out flat and clearly visible. This is for the Optical Department: Ms. Christina and Mr. Kenn The staff at Costco in Tustin told me that they do not provide case for the glasses if I only buy the frame. I have to do prescription lenses at Costco in order to get the case - DISAPPOINTED. : ( However, Ms. Christina at Garden Grove Costco surprised me. She was very helpful with ordering a Kate Spade case for me (for free) and was very helpful and friendly when I when there on a Sunday. I received my case! Any frame you purchase, Optical Staff can order the case for you. You just have to ask them. Mr. Kenn, on Saturday, was the best in helping me with my prescription sunglasses. He was the first staff to introduce me to the 4th type of polarized transition sunglasses that adjust to sun/low sun brightness besides the three main shade they have. I wish I knew about it sooner! Many other Costco NEVER told me about this 4th option! Affordable designer glasses. Buy 1 prescription glasses and get second pair $50 off. If you just need regular/basic glasses, it's great here but if you need special blue light or special glasses, I would not use Costco. It is not as good in term of quality. I went to Costco in Irvine (Technology), Tustin (El Camino Real) and on Park but none of the staff was as helpful as Mr. Kenn and Ms. Christina at this Garden Grove Costco. Glasses and sunglasses at this Garden Grove location are well kept and organized and service is fast. VSP - if you have insurance, it will cover part of your prescription glasses & prescription sunglasses. Plus flex spending if you have it. Sunglasses - if you just want to buy a regular frame, Costco will give the the polarized lenses for free - you only pay for the frame. But if you bring in your own frame to get the regular polarized lenses from Costco, then you would have to pay for the polarized lenses. Again, I wished I know this sooner : ( Parking - either arrive at Open or very End of day or you will not find parking! It's packed! Same thing for the Gas Station! read more

Costco in Garden Grove at 10:10 AM and the parking lot is already full!! Had to wait for someone to come out of the place to get a spot. I was kind of shocked at how busy this location is. Since it seems many of the Costcos are already having their Christmas stock in, it's a good time to come by and see what you might buy as gifts and presents for your loved ones. There are some pretty good deals on luggage currently right now. I did buy some swallow nest soup which is my favorite to have a nice drink. It is a little pricy but I heard it is good and gives health benefits. Not sure what benefits but my parents always wanted me to drink this from time to time. I also got some tasty mangos and some Brazilian nuts which I eat daily in the morning. Even though the parking lot was full they had almost every cash register open so that went very smoothly! This location is right at the corner with a slanted street right behind it, so the parking lot is only for Costco members. The fees are standard for two different types of membership. We got an offer in the mail that gives you cash back with either card, and there's a $50 offer you get if you also sign up for the credit on the day that you start new membership. Just the savings at their gasoline pump is worth the member price. We will definitely make use of this new card. read more

It's a Costco in a heavily Asian populated location with very congested traffic ... I'll let you figure out the rest. If you arrive here early and do your shopping quickly, it'll go very smoothly. Rule of thumb for ANY Costco is you either go very early or very late. Some of the customers that come to this location are the worst. Cutting in lines to get into the store, talking loudly on speakerphone, leaving their carts in the middle of an aisle. That's not Costco's fault but something to be wary about. If you come during the middle of the day, forget about it - just don't even bother. Try the business center in Westminster instead if they have the items you need. Or just go to another location. I will give a very special shout out to the kind cashier in the pharmacy (unfortunately I forgot her name but I will look her up the next time I go and edit this) - she was very friendly and even got me a cheaper price for a course of antibiotics by scanning my Costco membership, she saved me nearly 40% of what I was ready to pay. The food court people are cool in my books - they have a stressful job but keep on trucking. Coca-Cola machines in the food court Summer 2025. Terrible service for senior citizens. Today I had the bad experience of trying to enter and being turned away because I didn't have the executive membership card they sell. I have a Gold membership, I'm 60 years old, and I've been a Costco customer for 12 years. I think they should better train their associates in customer service. Shop at other chains. Not our favorite Costco location, but also not the worst. The best thing about Costco in OC is that they have a lot of Asian snacks and items. Whether it's durian ice cream or flowers for Lunar New Year, they'll definitely have it. They also had a family size bag of Hot Cheetos which is something I can never find at any of the other Costco locations near my house. The prices are always great at Costco so you know you'll be getting a good value. We didn't interact with any employees other than the cashier. Parking, however, is a nightmare because of how crowded it always is. I don't know if it's because of how stocked and packed it was, but this location definitely seemed smaller than other ones. Also, the food court is inside of the store which is convenient when its raining but kind of annoying. Overall, we will definitely be back for all of the rare Asian foods! read more
