I've only been to maybe three or four Daiso stores total, but this one has got to be one of the biggest store locations around. We were nearby for dinner and meandered around inside while we were waiting for the rest of our party. I was really surprised as to how clean the entire store was and filled with well organized shelves. There was such a large variety of items that I never knew existed. If I was in the area and had more time, I'd love to check out everything in the store. It looks like they have a variety of items that are individually priced. There are pricing guides posted throughout the aisles. Unmarked items are $2.25 as of June 2026. The last time I recall, prices were $1.75 per item, but that was a long time ago. read more

A very large modern space, this Daiso in Garden Grove is one of at least ten in Orange County. They seem to be continuing a rapid expansion, especially in the SoCal area. My wife and I have found their product quality to be very good (definitely better than US Dollar Stores), albeit at quite a bit more expensive prices: now at $2.25 for their lowest priced items. The words 'Quality', 'Value', 'Uniqueness', 'Variety', 'Quality' (repeated) seems to be their mantra. It's similar to World Market's slogan: "Unique, authentic, and always affordable". The store was well stocked and we found quite a few things we needed. Most products sold here are Daiso specific items, so prices are either pre-labeled by the manufacturer (in Japanese Yen) or assumed to be $2.25 if unmarked. My kids and I love Daiso especially when it first opened with everything in the store costed $1.50 each item. It was the best! Now, pricing has increased depending what the item is. Daiso is a store offering all kinds of goods from Japan. This location is massive stocked with snacks, daily essentials needs, drinks, toys, plates, sunglasses, hats, plates, and so much more. We were staying the night at Great Wolf Lodge next door so decided to visit for snacks and water. Besides we just love to browse around and check out all the unique products. This is the best Daiso I've ever been to, so I don't understand the negative reviews. The employees there were nice and led me to where I needed to go when I asked about products. The store was really big and full of things that the Daiso near me doesn't have, like high quality beads, sewing kits, excessive craft supplies, and more. The prices were about the same as any other Daiso woukd be. But my favorite part about this place is that the music is nice and low so you get a more peaceful shopping experience. They also don't play "Happy Price Paradise" every 0.2 seconds, so that's a plus as well! Will definitely come back. read more

Racist?! My boyfriend and I went while waiting for an appointment and we are Mexican with obvious brown skin. We were just trying to waste time and do something while waiting but ended up having multiple items in our hands we wanted to purchase. This Daiso is much smaller than most of the Daiso locations in south OC, but on par with the stores in the 714. The shelves aren't really fully stocked most of the time but you'll usually find whatever you need or at at least something to entertain you. The employees here are hit or miss, meaning you either want to hit them or just miss/avoid them entirely. I think one or two occasions I've had positive encounters with the cashier but I don't really expect anything than perfunctory minimum wage effort at these counters. I come here for candies and random gifts for people who like variety (or when I'm lazy/procrastinating). Parking is plentiful but the parking lot is not exactly pleasant. You'll never struggle to find a spot but you will struggle to maintain your temper (and wheel alignment). Happy shopping! read more

This one star review is for whoever is in charge of the food area I visited this Daiso yesterday to buy some storage boxes and on the way out decided to grab some snacks and drinks. The employees working were friendly and quick. When I got home, I went to grab this drink that I never had before and wanted to try it out, ONLY TO FIND THAT IT WAS EXPIRED ALREADY! To whoever is in charge of the food area, do your job. I'm pretty sure selling things that are expired isn't a part of it. Just to make sure too, I had to double check all of the snacks in order to make sure that it wasn't expired. Luckily nothing else was but somethings were pretty close. Daiso Japan is the American version of the 99 cents store and Dollar tree, except all items here are $1.50 unless otherwise noted. I passed by this location today and notice the Grand Opening sign. I saw a few people walk in but walk right out. I was a bit curious and decided to pull over anyways. I opened the door to find construction workers performing last minute touches before the Grand Opening tomorrow, Saturday September 6th, 2014. I was tempted to take photos of the place but there were signs posted on the window that stated No cameras inside. Sigh "-" Since the manager was kind enough to allow me to stay inside while the store was still " closed " I obliged and didn't take any photos. The variety here is pretty awesome! So easy to spend money since everything is so cheap. As I stated, most items are $1.50, however there were a few price tags with $2.50, $3.50 and etc. Because of the inexpensiveness, there's a lot of stuff to want but probably not need. Here's just a few things I spotted during my visit: KITCHEN: Plates. Bowls. Cups. Mugs. Utensils. Bento Box MAKEUP- Fake Eyelashes. Lipstick. Foundation ENTERTAINMENT- Wigs. Animal Headbands. Great for last minute Christmas shopping, especially for your child. Some of the stuff here I have never even seen before! The merchandise is so interesting! ONE STAR FOR SPECIFIC EMPLOYEE: Trung Daiso really needs to check up on their employees about customer service. I have never been in a daiso with such terrible customer service. There was one employee in particular that left us baffled. His name is Trung. He was extremely rude when we had asked if the visor that was on display / that they were advertising was on sale. He said they didn't have anymore so when we had asked if we can purchase the one on display, his excuse was that they're using it for shade on their windows. It was clearly just an excuse since it barely keeps the sun out of their establishment. We put all our stuff back and decided to spend our money at another Daiso. Someone please check up on trung and tell him to not treat their customers like trash just because they are a darker colored skin than you. First time at this location since I don't live in the area. I usually go to the South Bay locations. The set up of the store is kind of strange compared to what I'm used to. It is smaller and dim in the store. They don't sanitize or wipe down the counter and pin pad per customer use like other locations. To those complaining about particular people, the workers here are young. Perhaps they need more proper training as they are just doing their job. This store is sooooo cute! My family and I were in Anaheim for a Disney vaca and we decided to yelp the nearest Daiso. I mean, hey why not since we're from hawaii and don't have one. Smaller than the branch in Irvine but relatively the same size as the other new branches that have recently popped up near by. I went on opening day and pretty much 95% of the customers were Asian, myself included. They carry pretty much similar stuff as the other Daiso and some of the cashiers looked aloof and indifferent (like the other locations). The one that processed my order was in some sort of fowl mood bc she seemed irritated with us. We were given tickets for the grand opening but had no idea what they're for. Asked the cashier and her replies were 1 word haikus, "drawing". A drawing, when? "Tommorow." What does the winner get? "11.50"...... *blank stare*..... okaayy....*hands over credit card* cashier slid the card, process payment and after giving us our receipt, she immediately said next!...she did not acknowledge us or thank us, she did not make eye contact at all during the whole time. I'm a shy girl too but sheesh, at least i have manners. maybe she's a bot who still smoothing out the kinks with human interactions, or lack thereof, idk. This place is so much fun - a dollar (fifty) store with a big dose of kawaii. You'll find more adorable things than you could fit in a huge shopping cart, but many of them are useful as well. Household items, stationery, little toys, candy, dishes, cosmetics, containers...you'll walk out with a bunch of things you never knew you needed. The most expensive thing I noticed was $4.00, but most of the items are just $1.50. This particular location wasn't as crowded as others I've been to, so it felt like a nice, leisurely shopping experience. The staff was polite.
