Love this costco! They have everything I want and more. The customer service it top notch and everything is fresh and the prices are good (not amazing). We left Sam's Club as soon as Costco opened. More organic foods and higher quality products. Staff is much nicer and less pushy than at Sam's. The only negative is no Photo center and the snack bar not aa extensive as Sam's. Some produce here has also gone bad quickly, but other than that was fine. read more

Costco is always my first stop for organic groceries and high quality ingredients for entertaining. After price checking other options, we found Costco's price on tires unbeatable. I learned to request my Rx from my long-time optometrist and purchase 2 pairs of eyeglasses & 1 pair of sunglasses for about the price of one pair using insurance at my regular doctor. Even before Costco moved to Katy, I figured out that it was worth trading in my Sam's membership and DRIVING out to their Houston store. Good location, but too many people, especially during weekends. I made an appointment with tire department to have 4 tires installed (they only accept appoint Monday to Friday). This is about the optical inside the store. I order contacts from them all the time. But the girl, her name starts with a "T", she is very rude. (I think her name is Te-andra or something) I don't know if she had a bad day. There was no one there, I was the only customer. I read the amount wrong on the credit card reader just before paying and said, "oops I think we didn't get the second box added to it." Then I saw the second box load up on the screen as soon as I finished what I said. It was apparently still processing. I quickly apologized and told her, "oh sorry, I see it. My mistake." She then rudely told me I need to pay more attention. Her whole demeanor was terrible since the start of the transaction. It was as if I was doing her a disfavor since she had to get up out of her chair to help me. It was at that point, her last comment, that I thought, 'ok I need to point this out on a review'. It really stinks, because everyone else there is extremely nice and helpful. I'm just going to wait to be helped by someone other than her in the future. read more

I just got my glasses from Costco. The sales staff, Minh Nguyen is very friendly and knowledgable. he helped me select the right pair of glasses and right materials for my prescription glasses. He really helped me to get the most suitable glasses and lenses not the most profitable ones for him and for his company. I would recommend all my friends to go to him before they go to other stores for their prescription glasses!!! read more

Love this place. Became a member a few years back and was delighted when they opened this location in Katy. Prices are very good. My only complaint is that the isles are a little narrow, and... ...good luck with finding someone in the parking lot to help you load something heavy (in my case a 200lb patio table) into your car. Cashier Dylan H. And his buddy the bagger were having a conversation and ignoring the customers. When it was my turn to checkout, he took my card and continued his conversation, ignoring my existence, he continued to scan my items as he was socializing. He simply Pause his conversation to give me my receipt with a fake "thank you" To make matters worst the bagger put my milk pretty tight to the eggs on the cart so when I picked up the eggs from the cart one broke. That just really made me clinch, very bad experience. read more

Great for bulk cleaning supplies. Our office goes through a lot of daily necessities such as toilet paper and paper towels. Their store brand stands up the name brand products except their trash bags. Store brand trash bags are not as durable. Overall, it suits our office needs and they always have supplies on hand. read more

Costco uses JB Hunt for delivery. JB Hunt sucks (check BBB and Yelp reviews). I'm currently waiting for a dishwasher that was supposed to be here yesterday. I expect better from Costco. I started a live chat this morning because Costco doesn't have e-mail customer service. The Rep told me to leave "Feedback" if I want corporate to hear what I think about Costco using JB Hunt for delivery. Well, feedback is anonymous. I don't want to leave anonymous feedback. I want to be compensated for the crappy experience I am having. I deliberately did not buy a dishwasher from Lowe's or Home Depot because they have crappy delivery, and now here I am dealing with the same issue courtesy of Costco. The Rep said it's really not Costco's fault, but JB Hunt. The issue is I didn't pay JB Hunt, I paid Costco. Costco needs to re-evaluate their relationship with sub-par contractors, such as JB Hunt, if they don't want to be on the hook for unpleasant experiences. read more

Awful customer service and boxes full of expired items! Was going to buy 4lbs boxes of butter for my bakery store. Went up to the cashier and each rang up about a dollar more than what was advertised. So a nice employee went back there with us to see if we were wrong. She saw the price that we were saying was right and took pictures with her phone to prove it to the manager. Then when we were back there we saw the entire boxes (about 5 big boxes) were EXPIRED full with butter. We went on 5/19/2014 and the all of the butter EXPIRED on 4/25/2014!!!! ALMOST A MONTH!!!! We grabbed another type of 4lbs of butter (this one was cut in quarter slices -these were not expired, but little more expensive since it was cut up into 4-, but the original one was a solid 4lbs butter; both Kirkland brand and 4lbs) for purchase with the wanting of the solid butter price, because the all other 4lbs butter were expired for about a month. Then the manager, which was hispanic lady middle 30s (did not pick up name), was very rude with a huge attitude, and was not honoring the advertised price. I had to go back to get the nice employee who went with us previously, to tell her that the price was about a dollar cheaper. She finally gave the advertised price, but said "over $0.80 cents, here go" and rolled her eyes. Been with Costco SINCE 2002 and never seen and recieved the amount of disrespect! Glad I barely come to this Costco, if you can I recommend the Costco on Bunker Hill. Bunker Hill has a amazing staff and always there for their customers. read more

Beware if you buy your car battery from Costco! I get my batteries there, and it died yesterday suddenly while I was out running errands. I managed to get to an Auto Zone who was able to finally get my car started. I went directly to Costco to get my battery replaced as it was still under warranty. I got there, explained my situation to the man working - my battery died, my car won't start, need a new battery and help getting the old one out and the new one in. I was told NO - we WILL NOT HELP you - too bad so sad. So, at that point, I was stranded at Costco. While I was making calls to find help, the man behind the counter walked past me outside. I told him Thanks for leaving me stranded. He just looked at me and walked away. Fortunately, I finally found someone to come out to Costco and help me get the battery changed out (I did not have tools in my car). Since I had to pay for a new one because the bad one was in my car, I had to then take the bad one in for a refund. THEN, they didn't want to give me a full refund!! The lady that was doing the refund started to give me trouble about the refund, told me she couldn't do anything but I could talk to the original man about it if I wanted to. I said, Sure. Then, he must have not wanted to talk to me again as she then passed me off to a Customer Service person, who actually DID help me, AND gave me the full refund I was originally promised. Moral of the story - I would think long and hard before using the automotive department at the Costco in Katy - not sure if the other ones are the same, but this one is not good at all, in my opinion! read more

For the life of me, I cannot tell much difference between this place and Sam's (other than the fact that a Sam's membership is $45/year and Costco is $55/year). Ok, there are minute differences in the merchandise but both pretty much carry the same stuff. Costco runs sales and Sam's does not. Costco's snack bar is cash only and Sam's takes debit cards. Sam's gas station takes Visa and Costco's is debit only. Costco's snack bar serves exclusively Pepsi products while Sam's serves Coca Cola. I prefer Costco's bakery but prefer Sam's meat department. Sam's offered me a $20 gift card to renew my membership. Costco offers nothing. My Bose home theatre system was $50 less at Sam's while the lower end Bose models were the same price. Both offer $1.50 hotdog combos in the snack bar and cheap pizza. Costco has fewer Houston area locations. As of now, Costco is closer to my home but Sam's just broke ground on a Grand Parkway location. When the new Sam's opens, they will be equal in distance. Hmm... read more

As a Costco shopper I've seen it's ups and I've seen it's downs. This one location I WILL say is the best I've came across thus far. A lot of the comments being left here about "opening day" you really can't go off of. It's opening day people! By then most employees are on their 90 probationary period, which means then ones who you've came across as "not helpful" or "rude" 9 times out of 10 have been let go due to poor work performance! And this I know because I have close friends who are employed through Costco! This location is ALWAYS put together, never messy, or run down as some I've shopped at (CoughBunkerHillCough) their management has their s*** together. So consider this, go back, give them a shot and then change your review! read more

My husband and I have been with Costco since 10/14 and have loved it ever since, except for this renewal time. We signed up as Executive Members and received a refund check in 2015. At that same time we renewed at the register for 2016. I'm finding out now that the cashier did not ring us up correctly and therefore we do not get a refund check this year. My husband and I go to Costco just about every to weeks and donate a lot of stuff to the less fortunate. With that being said the 2% return was an awesome incentive to join! At this point I'm not sure if we will be actively shopping there. Which is sad. Make sure to ALWAYS renew in the mail or at the customer service booth, NOT AT THE REGISTER!!!! 2 months of the biggest headache. read more

Do not under any circumstances trust the pharmacy located at the Costco on Highway 99 and I 10 with something as potentially important as the timely receipt of your medication. As of Dec 27, their system is completely down and they were unable to even process direct prescriptions sent from the doctors to them. I waited for 30 minutes before someone even bothered notifying anyone that that was the case then they gave me a fax number so I had the doctors office fax them then after 20 more minutes more they told me that their fax machine wasn't receiving either. The pharmacy manager whose name is Fred Tezano, didn't even have the guts to come to the window so I could express my frustration that his employees had not been properly trained so as to notify people that they weren't going to be able to get their prescriptions filled. The system being defunct was forgivable, but their lack of care or concern about the welfare of their customers is not. The level of ineptitude and callousness was surprising to say the least given that they are affiliated with or perhaps even owned by Costco. One expects better from them. The store manager was polite and professional but the point being he should have made sure that those employees in the pharmacy... especially including the pharmacy manager... were trained well enough to at least provide a reasonable level of service, so to that extent I suppose the blame lies with the store manager as well. Almost all the Costco employees I have ever dealt with have been professional and courteous... but stay away from the pharmacy. You've been warned... read more

First of all, Costco itself is amazing! I have been a member for 5 or so years, and have never experienced an unpleasant interaction with an employee. Everyone is always happy and actually seems to enjoy their job - which I attribute to the company looking out for and taking care of their employees (which seems to be lost in most business, these days). Their return policy is excellent - they never give you any grief, and you can even return without a receipt (they can look up purchases on your account). There are many organic and quality products at great prices. The only thing I dislike is that sometimes Costco will discontinue carrying a product or replace it with something else that might be similar, but not the same. I hope they continue to add to their organic and real food offerings. Gas is also often times less expensive here. They only accept AMEX credit cards, otherwise debit or cash. read more

Possibly the worst Costco among the over 15 I have been to across 4 states over last 15 years. I would have ranked it much lower but I love Costco so..... I mean the team that runs his particular location is among the most unknowledgeable and frivolous and Costco marketing and store intelligence is not doing its job in this location. Go to the wine section - only RED BLENDS and RED BLENDS and maybe 1 miserable Malbec in the 4 rows . What happened to the Pinot Noir, Cabs , French selections and Merlot? Is this store hand in glove with the wine store next door as most customers seem to be going there to buy their wine ( not spirits)? Where is the pasta sauce - no, not next to the pasta , not even next to the canned tomatoes .... Crowds of people being served by a single person in customer service . Bread and products with expiry dates for tomorrow on the shelves - this is not a thrift store !! Small coke cans missing ! Also missing - the Hebrew national salami. Rows and rows of Columbus products including dry salami which no one wants to buy. All the above products are very much available in the stores on Bunker Hill and Willowbrook which have much better selections of many other items . Why is that? How can the choices of people differ within 10 miles in the same city ? And that's where I think I will go and so should you, dear reader , even if this is next to your home !! read more

This review is specifically for Costco Optical. We were there this morning at 10:30am. We were the second people waiting. The female employee was servicing another customer. She turned around and said she would help us as soon as she finished helping the other customer. We picked out a frame and put it on the counter. She said, "Is this what you want?" to which I said "yes." Another couple came in after us and were waiting. After this employee finished working with the first customer, she was supposed to work with us, yet at this point, she said she had to make a call to the doctor. We waited. After the phone call, she turned to the couple who arrived after we did and helped them. At this point, I asked if my husband would want to go on shopping while I continue to wait. He said "wait for what?" I said, "wait so I don't lose my spot" to which he said, "I think you have already lost your spot!" It was blatant bad customer's service. Worst of all, it was blatant discrimination as the other couple is white and I am not. Whoever manages this particular store ought to give this woman in the Optical Dept. some training on customer's service.
