I do NOT like this location and I wish I would remember that the next time I decide to go. I had some errands to run in Katy and decided to stop by this location out of convenience. At 1pm on a Tuesday it was PACKED. The lines were long, the aisles were crammed, and the customers were either walking very slowly around the store or nearly running and knocking people over trying to get their goods. The self check out line didn't really have a line, it was just a bunch of people gathered around. The worst part of the visit was exiting the store. The man that checked my receipt literally read off everything on my receipt, located it in my basket, and then put a dot on the receipt next to each item. I'm a regular Costco-goer and certainly understand that some people count items or eyeball back and forth between the receipt and what's in your cart. But, this man took his sweet time to read each individual item and locate it in the cart. He even asked me at one time, "did you get some pizza I don't see it?". I responded "it's in there". I felt like a criminal as others came and went out of the other line. He finally released me and it was at that moment that I decided I won't be returning to this location again!! Costco in Katy is open! I absolutely LOVE Costco, so naturally, I had to come on opening day. Overall, this is a welcome addition to Katy, and will hopefully relieve Bunker Hill of some of the congestion I regularly see on weekends. It wasn't as crowded as I expected it to be, but I suppose not many people want to go out in ~30 degree weather. This Costco is fairly easy to locate (on the SW corner of 99 and I-10) and sits by itself on a large plot of land. The layout is quite different from the locations in Houston, but it is very easy to navigate. It has all the standard offerings: the liquor store, tire center, optometrist and eye care center, photo center, and food court. This particular Costco seems to carry more groceries than the locations in Houston, I came across some products I've never seen before. I didn't see a "housewares" aisle though, and this is my favorite aisle in Costco. There were a few random blenders, pots and pans, etc. dispersed throughout the store. I also did not see any refrigerators, washers/dryers, and large appliances. Maybe these items are arriving later. But OH MY, the luxury goods here! I lingered around the handbags for awhile and ogled a $4200 Chanel beige classic flap (normally $4900). Chanel does not ever discount and there are waiting lists for their handbags, so this is a fabulous deal for whoever has the money to snag it. There was a large display of Ferragamo, Coach, Prada, and Ralph Lauren handbags too. I love handbags and I own a few nicer ones, I have absolutely no doubts about authenticity here. I spoke with a couple of the employees here, and apparently they always roll out some special items (like the Chanel) for new store openings. They also had a limited edition Mercedes Benz SLR Tag Heuer, an Omega SeaMaster, and a Hublot. Talk about serious eye candy. I saw YSL, Bobbi Brown, and Estee Lauder products in the cosmetics aisle, and a 2 pack of OPI nail polish for $12. Near the clothing, I saw ladies classic Toms canvas flats for $30. Great deals! They were quite generous with the samples tonight, I think this will continue through the weekend. ;) The liquor store is larger than most. The same company operates the Bunker Hill and Richmond locations, so you can pretty much expect the same products, with a few more pleasant additions. The Sugar Land location is apparently owned and operated by a different company. Gas is also cheaper here than Bunker Hill and Richmond locations. read more

Today my daughter and I ran by Costco here in Katy to get some Gifts for my husband. I have been a member for a few years, and even use the vision center for our family eyeglasses. After I went through the line, I was told my card was expired and it would cost around 100 dollars along with what I was already purchasing. That totaled to over 20 dollars! This was not in my budget. I figured I could go ahead and get the cheaper membership, put some stuff back, and compromise with the money I could afford. He said I would have to go go stand in the help line and he would cancel my purchases! Well, I didn't want to go stand in line, then go back all the way to find what was still in my budget. So I just had to leave very frustrated. Why couldn't I go through with what I wanted to buy and come back after my paycheck to renew? Also, why didn't I get a notice telling me the card was expired? I am not renewing until I get an apology from Costco. Also, I feel sorry for the lady behind me who had to watch the whole embarrassing spectacle! Sept. 5. My husband and I just got the notice in the mail from Costco that it was time to renew. I am not sure what scam Costco was trying to pull that day. Nevertheless, we now shop at Sam's Club. I have had very bad luck with customer service at Costco in general. This particular one was OK, so I wont penalize them for the incompetence of the other Costcos in Houston. I liked that they had a gentleman selling fresh wild caught salmon and shrimp. He said he also had red snapper earlier that day but had ran out. He is only there Friday to Sunday and I have to say the shrimps were huge. I bought two pounds and he hand selected them for me. That gentleman was my favorite part of this Costco. read more

Okay, here is my complaint! I am not a member; however, at Christmas time I would like to be a gift card for my daughter who is a member. Because I am not a member I cannot buy a gift card. I am buying a $300 gift card which is money put into Costco's hands. NOPE, you are not a member so you cannot give us your $300.00. We would rather you go spend your money at any other store than ours. So $300.00 gift card at Target it is. Thanks Costco. I wrote the main headquarters and never received a reply back. I told the supervisors that this was a STUPID policy. She informed me that it is not stupid and that was my opinion. Really enjoy Costco here, especially the furniture selection. Yes you have to transport it yourself. Bought garage workbench here and was really amazed at the quality and price. We also redid our living room and common areas with furniture also. Great selection and if you don't get it when you see it you may miss out. Also their return process is very liberal and keeps me coming back. I have only returned four items in a years time period. read more

This Costco is just terrible. I joined a couple of years ago for cheap gas and tires, but it is NOT worth the terrible service. Went in today to buy a couple of things. They were out, but I saw TurboTax for less than I would pay online. Stood in line to pay and they sent a young lady off with my box and receipt to get my product. After 10 minutes, she showed up with software for the guy behind me and went back to help the cashier. When I asked about my purchase, she said they couldn't find it, but she would go check again in a few minutes to check. I suggested we see if they could find it, now. They couldn't. I asked for a refund. I got the refund, no apology, no explanation. Lat time I bought tires, it was an all day affair. Appointments don't mean anything to them, it's just another hoop to make you jump through. read more

Man I had sucha horrible experience today! I am a fanatic Costco shopper! I make a weekly trip to it all the time! This location was conveniently located next to my doctor's so stopped in to grab some groceries and of course the food court! That's what makes my trip enjoyable all the time but this time not so much! First off, it was a freaking busy Monday! Open more lines up. It was literally wrapped around the store dude. After patiently waiting for check out, my niece was hungry so we went up to the food court to order. Cashier just ignores us and continued to clean the countertop. Understand you need to keep the place clean but it was a good 5 mins until she even acknowledged us. I know she saw us coming because she looked right at me. The least she could of said "give me a min or two" NOPE, nothing. Then when we got her attention, I proceeded to order 2 hotdog combos (hotdog & soft drink) She proceeded to ring us up and got us the hot dogs. Then I stood there waiting for my soda cups. She gave me the stank face. I pardon myself and said I'm waiting for my order. She snaps at me "I gave you already" Look ma'am I ordered the combos, that includes my drinks. This cashier had the nerve to roll her eyes and shove the cups in my hand. Freaking ridiculous. If you hate your job so much, look for a new one. I was patiently waiting not like I was rude to her. She seriously need some attitude adjustment. I've never had a bad experience at Costco until today! Ugh rather make the drive to Bunker Hill than go back to this location! Rude! read more

Opening day may not be the best day to review, but as all the warehouse stores go this had ample parking, on 14 acres there is mega parking, surprised not to see valet service and bus loading. Easy ingress, construction issues on Katy were amplified due to the many folks coming here. Hopefully 200 employees were hired from the Katy area. Bottleneck at the frozen food section, due to free samples. No crowd at the $4199 Chanel handbag section but 2 full time employees were guarding the handbags, nuts. Unless that handbag can wash dishes it has no place at Costco, a Valentine's Gift, not. Had no problem dropping $400 here, that is a small mountain of Charmin, and yes the checker did not know that I got a $20 Costco card when I had spent $100 on P&G products, a manager came over and explained I would need to download that gift card online. Additional training never hurts. $20 a pound for crab legs and those have just been consumed, tasty and my favorite sustainable red wine, Benzinger is sold here for less than $20 a bottle, the best bargain. Starbucks coffee off flavor so no savings. Some of the pharmacy services will not open for another 2-3 weeks. If you need 80 pounds of pintos, this is the place for you if you can dodge buggies that are bigger than King Kong. Bring cash, debit card, Am Ex, and patience. read more

Don't buy your tires. They NEVER have open appointments for rotation unless you make the appointment weeks in advance.

I love, love, love Costco but at this location the restrooms are up front, past the food court, behind a caged in area around where managers/supervisors hang out. So I'm shopping, looking at everything like a moth to a flame (because there's ALWAYS new stuff coming in), when suddenly I can't hold it anymore!! Oops, shopped/gawked too much! Anyway, the only way to get to the restrooms is to park your basket somewhere over by the last, never used register, and then squeeze through customers checking out in the next lane. I feel rude but I gotta go! Then after the potty trip I have to return to parked buggy by the same means I came in from. I'm thinking...hmmm, I hope nobody 'liked' anything from my basket and decided they needed it for themselves . IF you get lucky on a day where a manager decides to be nice and open the area between the last two, unused registers at the very end...then you don't have as much hassle getting to the potty before your bladder explodes! But usually, there's carts and some stretchy thing looping through them to keep you from getting to the restrooms in a nice, polite manner. The only solution I have for this store is to do your business in the toilet BEFORE going in to Costco and don't shop as long. You'll save $$ and your bladder. read more

Thanks Costco! I stopped by today to get a rotisserie chicken, some butter and some cheese. Got to checkout and they said I had to renew the membership. I'm on my daughter's business account and the renewal amount didn't sound right so I told them she was out of town and would take care of it in a couple of days when she got back, but I wasn't paying it now because the amount didn't seem right. They called for a supervisor. To override and help me out? NO! To void my sale since I wasn't renewing right then. I've been a member for over 10 years, but would they cut me any slack, even knowing there were questions about the renewal? And I had less than $50 worth of food! Guess when my membership expired.......YESTERDAY! Acted like I was trying to run one past them! Great customer service Costco! P.S. I'll go back and talk to the manager when I'm not so angry, but Costco may have lost a 10 year customer! read more

Costco is my favorite warehouse stores! My husband and I come here if we want to buy supplies in bulk such as toilet paper. The quality of the items here are excellent for the most part. The food here is fresh. One of negative aspects of this location is the parking during weekends. But that is to be expected. read more

I've only been here a few times but it is always busy when I've been there. It's a good store with a nice selection but since it's in Katy it's always packed and pretty busy. I'm sure I'll be back but next time I'll try to avoid the busy lines by going in off hour times. read more

I LOVE me some Costco. I have a dream in which I outfit my entire house with Kirkland brand EVERYTHING! In fact, I'm sure there will be a day when you can order a Kirkland Brand house (it will come in a shrink wrapped 3-pack). How can you not love Costco? The deals, the stuff, the samples. You know what I don't love about THIS Costco though? How slow the workers are. Ugh! Once, it took an hour to get medication for my daughter instead of the "10 minutes" that I was told. And getting food (i.e. hotdog, pizza, etc.)...don't get me started! Actually, this is exactly where I can rant about it. This is not What-A-Burger or Jack-in-the-box. You don't have to make it when we order it. There should be two people working registers, and two people who are runners, and two people who are prepping food (like the hotdogs). The reality when you go in there is that the person at the register taking your order then has to walk away from said register to get the hotdog (this is after they spend 5 minutes putting on the plastic food service gloves [available in a 5-pack on aisle 24]) put it in the bun and wrap it in the foil. At the Costco I used to go to in Hawaii there was always a person who's sole job was to wrap hotdogs (and Polish dogs...I MISS POLISH DOGS!). That way when the lunch/dinner rushes inevitably hit there was a literal (and I don't use this word lightly) mound...a veritable heap...an bona fide pile...nay, an indubitable hummock of hotdogs ready for the masses. It's been a few years since I've gone to a Costco but since my brother moved in and has a membership, I wanted to check it out. Of course I was compelled to walk every aisle. Lol! Overall it's still worth the membership fee if you buy bulk. I dropped $200 and was close to spending more. I had to control myself. The organic meat selection is great and I'll be back. I had a churro on the way out and those are still awesome. Luckily it wasn't to busy while we were there. Ohh and the gas prices are good as well. read more

I was in need of new tires for my Porshe Cayenne SUV . Since i leave close by and had a membership , i decided to take to utilize their service. It was the worst mistake of my life , I' am still paying for it with noise of the sensors that come on while driving the car. The technicians knocked off the sensors from the tire and i went back multiple times to have it fix , they keep telling me the new tires have to be adjusted until i went to the the dealer today and was told whomever changed my tires did a terrible job i should go back to have them fix my sensors. It was very unfortunate after I spent about $1000 to get the best tires and now iam face with this situation. Their rapid service is becoming inefficient and their attitude at the Katy location is unprofessional, especially the manager with red hair. read more

Staff is friendly cashiers are the best I have seen in a long time . Pick your lines wisely some people still pay by check . Glad people are friendly and helpful. Mostly clean every where , the demo people clean up spill quickly I dropped iceceam and the lady was quick to fix my mistake . Address any issues to management they listen . The customer service here sucks big floppy hot dogs. Especially in the tire center. I'm literally standing right in front of this woman April and she doesn't look up, doesn't say hi, doesn't tell me she'll be right with me. I literally don't exist to these people until I have money to give them? Very disappointed being a manager of a restaurant that prides itself on customer service and having had past employment with Costco! I know they want better than this from their employees. My most favorite place! This costco is relatively new, very clean. Even the shopping carts are spotless. Typical costco layout and stocks. I highly recommend to go on weekdays around lunch hour to try all their samples. You will get full! It seems they serve much larger sample sizes (like a quarter of a burger) on weekdays. I only wish they would open one in Cypress! read more
