Horrible service. Slow AF. 3 hours to change tires when no other customers around. Would hate to see what it looks like when it's busy

TERRIBLE SERVICE AT TIRE CENTER. We had appointment at 11am. We waited until 2pm to get our car back. When we dropped off our keys they confirmed that it should be done by 12pm. We come back our car is still in the lot.. they finally take it in at 12pm.. and say they are running late. The guy that takes in our car then disappears for another half an hour (supposedly to go get our 4 tires). The other guy in the tire shop is barely even working. He had taken in a 4x4 pick up at 11:15am and you proceeds to work on it for the next 2+ hours. After the guy returns with our tires, our car continues to sit there for another half an hour while he works on another car. They don't know how to work efficiently! You just see them walking back and forth not doing anything. As we wait for 2+ hours for our car, our perishable and refrigerated items continue to sit out in the sun..melting. Stay far away from this tire center! read more

I can't. I just can't. Okay, I can, but mostly because I have to. Despite living spitting distance, I still can't muster the ability to bring myself there more than once every couple of months. I mean, this is literally my local supermarket and yet, it still takes about a week of mental prep to get myself to go. It's a madhouse. Figuratively, but possibly literally, too. It's that crazy (as are many of the people). Weekends are the worst. All the worst drivers come here and push their shopping carts in the same way they drive - super awfully. And the lines. Ugh, let's not even go there. Weekend evenings, around 45 minutes before closing gets a little more tolerable. Yes, you don't get samples, but with hoards of people waving their dirty hands in your face for a measly morsel, that's perhaps a good thing. Shopping is okay and there aren't a heck of a lot of people. Well, that is until you get to the cash register. They start closing them and the lines are just as horrid, so you're basically never winning at this Costco. One exception. Snowstorms. Since I live right next door to Costco, it's easy for me to get there in snowstorms. And the experience is wonderful. Maybe a dozen people at most shopping and never more than one person ahead of you at the cash register. It's a little slice of fleeting Costco heaven. Anyway, long story short, get the rotisserie chicken. At $5 a chicken, it's a bargain (and apparently a loss leader) for this super flavorful bird, plus it's good for several meals. read more

Unless you enjoy playing shopping bumper carts with the entire population of the 5 towns, do not come here, especially on a weekend day. This place is overcrowded with otherwise friendly workers everywhere besides the food counter. Unlike most Costco's, there is only a single line for all food services. This creates a huge line with customers waiting in line with their carts and causes a huge traffic jam in the front. Not to mention, again, unlike other Costco's, they do not have a separate line for prepaid food (prepaid at the cash register when you check out after shopping). So you still have to wait in the giant (single) line with people who are severely attached to their carts. I've also witnessed on multiple occasions some ridiculous things at this Costco. Some lady opening up the raspberry boxes to get a double fill on her box. She then turned around to see me waiting for her to be done and says "this is how you can get more for your money!".... Um no, that's actually called stealing. I've seen numerous amounts of people open food packages and straight up munch on whatever goodies they find and then leave the opened package and walk away. Ive also seen someone steal items that were already purchases near the food court straight out of their basket. I've also seen someone in the front of the store literally stopped his car dead center in between the lanes (so no one could pass him) waiting for someone (his wife I assume) to come out. He was sitting there for a solid 15 minutes with people ravenously honking and shaking their fists at him. I honestly don't know if this Costco or Walmart (any) is worse. read more

Who doesn't love Costco? From the $9.99 huge pizza to the $0.59 fountain drink and the $1.50 super sized hotdog - that's a GREAT value. The problem is getting there. All the Costco's I've been to - i like this one (in Lawrence) b/c it has the perfect balance of busy vs space. It's not super crowded like the one in Long Island and it's not empty where there's no customers around at all (ensuring for not fresh food at the food lines or the samples) And the samples!! Gotta love free samples of products - and they are good...makes you buy more! I love cost co for all these reasons and more! read more

While in Costco Lawrence today, the man checking the receipts would not allow my wife to pass for multiple minutes until he counted every single item by moving each item one by one. It was very embarrassing and he did not do so to other patrons, only my wife!! She is obviously Jewish and it calls into question why the only chose to do this to her alone. read more

This is for the tire center, especially Jacques. A little less than 2 years ago I purchased 4 new Michelin tires and had them rotated at about 7500 miles as per manufacturer's instructions. They did an excellent job installing and rotating the tires. They are very precise and do a very competent and professional job. I also want to give a big thumbs up to Jacques. I saw a nail near the sidewall of one of my tires about a week ago. (borderline sidewall). I called to order a new tire but they said that I would have to come in so they could check the tread so they could prorate the cost (it was under warranty). Jacques checked and said it could be patched and I may not need a new tire. He determined that the screw did not puncture the tire and it did not need to be patched and I did not need a new tire. He also double checked and tested the tire to ensure that there was no air leaking. Bottom line, he knew exactly what he was doing and saved me close to $200. As a customer, after 3 visits I have confidence and 3 excellent experiences with your tire department. Your technicians are excellent. In addition to Jacques, the other workers checked to see if I needed any assistance while I was waiting. read more

Today I went to your store to buy a few items which took about 10 min and I had to wait an hour in line to pay . This is unacceptable. It was so crowed that all four lines were filled to the back of the store and no social distancing, there were over hundred people waiting on the line . Everybody was complaining , some people had little kids , we was asking for manager and manager never show up . Five cashiers were open and the middle ones were closed .Supervise was working in the first cashiers she left for 10 min when line was Insaying ,one of the guy cover her who was controlling the line . My question is why superviser didn't open one of the middle cashiers and let the guy work, does she care about people who was waiting in the line ? They let people in and no one was controlling outside and inside the store . It was my worse experience. I shop in Oceanside Costco the best customer service , they so organized ,clean and nice . read more

UPDATE: I just learned that Costco has ended their business relationship with AMEX and will now offer VISA as their preference card for member payment. Interestingly, AMEX stock dropped after they made the announcement to their members. I still love their warehouse compared to BJ's as you get more packaging for the price point versus BJ's pricing their smaller units at a higher cost. read more

Some things I loooooove to get (w/ prices if I remember them) Mango Salsa $4.99 Pesto Italian bread Organic Fruit smoothies (two for $5.69) Organic ground beef 3 lbs $12 (tastes good for tacos!!!) This is a great Costco to come to during the week. I haven't ventured here on the weekend because even on an early Friday morning, it was packed. Definitely not as crowded as the one in Westbury, however. Try their seasoned salmon, stuffed tilapia and selection of lamb and beef for bbqs. Stock up on cleaning supplies, paper goods and anything you will need a lot of. Water bottles, cakes and platters for special occasions and beverages are all good deals. It's usually hard to spend less than $200 here....but it must be worth it because most supplies last me 6 months or longer. read more

I went to Costco today and I am very disappointed with the service. The way they handled and pack my items today was very rude and sloppy. When approaching the cashier her demeanor was rude and the man who packed your food into the cart he basically throwing the items in the cart. I asked the man why are you throwing the items he goes "oh my manager is watching me". This is no excuse some of the items I brought home are now damaged. I love CostCo. I have been to this store many, many times. I have purchased their winter apparel- gloves, winter down jacket, winter down vest, and another jacket. They are some of my favorite articles. My roommates bought a shed for their motorcycle and it's been used a lot and was easy to put together. Their meat and produce quality are unparalleled. This is the bulk of what we buy. They have excellent prices on household cleaners and other detergents. I have also purchased their personal care items (shampoo, vitamins, shaving razors, etc) and am pleased. TIP: GO EARLY. This place always has a ton of people, so go early and beat the crowd! Stop by the liquor store. They often have tastings and their Kirkland brand vodka is really good! Many friends swear that it is as good as Belvedere or Grey Goose. read more

They know what they are doing, and they are so popular for a reason. Sometime I shop here and I just can't believe to some of the prices they have. It can get ridiculous. And if I have a part planned, or BBQ coming, Costco is a must for me. Usually places that sell in a wholesale style, do not offer quality, but rather low prices quality, but Costco supply great quality meat, and for ridiculous prices. Buy the ribs, the Fillet, you will not get disappointed. And I even got from them new food processor for 25$ cheaper than the lowest price on amazon. The more convenient Costco to me, although I've noticed over the years I've been going here (since they opened over 15 years ago) that the selection is getting a little sparse on higher-end quality items (Panettone, prosciutto, clothing, etc) which can still be found in Westbury. I'll echo one of the other reviewer's points on being wary of the picked-over fruit, but for closed-box home supplies from paper towels to sugar to Dyson vacuums, this place can't be beat. The staff have always been more than helpful, and some have become friends over the years. I wonder what else the reviewer claiming to have been stopped by the CCTV monitor was doing, because there is absolutely no racism/favoritism that I've ever seen here since opening day. I'd also recommend coming here late on a Friday or early on a Saturday to avoid the lines, as you can be in and out in minutes if you're just on a tactical re-supply run. Try that in Westbury... They may not be the best on LI, but they're convenient and (usually) good enough for me. read more

I love Costco but this is not my favorite one. I think costcos in New York aren't as friendly as the south but the quality of the products remains the same so I still love it. In places like New York and Hawaii costco is a must because it is just move cost effective than the supermarket. The food court is always a great deal. After spending all day out I grabbed a sausage and pepper sandwich from there and it was yummy. You can't beat a bottled water for 25 cents either. My cousin had her first Costco hotdog and was pretty happy too. It's worth a stop if you are shopping or are getting your car serviced there. read more

Typical Costco location. Huge downside and why I rarely go is the crowds. Never seen one so insane. Manhattan one is less busy. The people that shop here are horribly rude. Lots of Jewish family's with 6 kids running all over, bumping into people and nothing is said. I asked the cashier when are they not busy and she said when we are closed. I'm so tired of Costco. Especially this one in Lawrence. One thing you can be sure of. If you shop early to avoid crowds or if you shop prime time, there will never be an adequate number of cashiers. And you will waitttttt. Additionally the constant harassment to upgrade my membership, or to pay more for this misery.... The prices are stable but on most things you can do better on sales at local grocery or target. I no longer see the value of my membership when I balance the cost of items and the time I lose on my life waiting in line here. I obviously do not recommend. read more

Who doesn't love Costco? They have some of the best prices and have such a large variety of merchandise. I love coming here because of the samples they give out and all the different types of items they sell. I only use Costco 4 times a year. But I try to make sure that in every visit I will buy here all the staff that I need for the following months. If you have a spot to storage things, by the end of the year you can find that you saved a decent amount of money buy shopping here. Flowers: Love that they have them. The Costco Tire Center in Lawrence, NY is a joke. They guarantee a delivery by a certain date, but of course that doesn't happen. They tell you to come at a certain time you come and an hour and 20 minutes later your car gets into the garage. Two hours and ten minutes later and your car is still in the garage. There are a lot of guys in the garage, but very relaxed in no rush to get you in and out. If the tires were not cheaper than in other places I certainly wouldn't be coming here. So if you are getting your tires changed at this Costco arm yourself in some patience and be ready to spend the day here. They must have a minimum that they want to keep your car in the garage, because it definitely doesn't make sense why changing two tires should take this long. read more

I love Costco - and this location is always consistent. They have free parking and this locations is very spacious. Of course bulk isn't for everyone but some items in bulk make sense. I get my contact lenses here and the service doesn't get better then theirs. Not only are their prices the best around but their associates are actually in the business of selling a product you need and making sure you are satisfied. You won't find better deals elsewhere on glasses either. I really love how Costco values pricing for their members but doesn't sacrifice their employees for it. Whenever I visit most Costco clubs most employees seem content and willing to help. Beware: the sampling works! My favorite time to come and shop is Saturday & Sunday's. Although is commonly their crowded days and also the time when their sampling! Today I sampled natural fresh cheddar cheese curds and loved it so I picked up one to go. Not my first time being a victim to their active sampling (sign). Not much to be done about the long lines but wait and be patient. I also shop at another competitor wholesale club but will always choose Costco. The pricing is better for your money and the service is significantly better! read more

This costco is always packed. Some of the employees are super sweet and some are super rude. Especially in the food court. Gabby from the food court has been the only one that knows what she is doing and keeps the line moving. Aisha from the food court is really nasty and speaks to people like she is better than everyone else. She needs a reality check or to get fired. The manager Frank has been very nice when discussing my issues with him. I prefer to go to oceanside because of less people and the staff is much nicer, however I live right next to this Costco so it is more convenient when I need only a couple items. read more

Beware of the fruit section! The local clientele open all of the containers on top to sample cherries, berries, grapes, etc... It is gross. Reach down below to get a package and make sure the seal is in tact if you dare. Better yet, go to Westbury if you need fruit with small loose pieces. Just thinking about that makes me sick. Also, avoid the cellular resale kiosk. They are crooks and sell old phones (but you probably knew that at this point from your experiences with Costco). It's a convenient Costco, but Westbury is bigger and is a much nicer shopping experience. read more

Love this Costco. You usually find everything in there in bulks which is a bit expensive but it will last you a while . The line are always super long. I wish they carried more organic food. The employees at the food court needs a lot of training on how to deal with crowds and not have such a nasty attitude , other than that Costco is my go to place .
