I love this store. I used to live in San Jose and the Costco we used to go to there was a damn zoo compared to this one. There are certain things my husband and I like to buy at Costco because we eat alot of it or buying it in bulk is a better buy. We get all of our meat here because it is truly the best buy here and it lasts us a good long time so we get the best bang for our buck. We also get our pet food here which is also by far the best deal. Toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, and dish soap is also great. We get our various snacks here too. More everyday use groceries we get elsewhere but I will tell you this store is always clean and well stocked. They also have self checkout stands which is totally awesome. This is a great place to shop if you are having a party too. Great party platters, alcohol selection, and desserts. The customer service staff in the store has always been great and I have never had any problems. All in all I can't really complain about this store because they have everything I come there for. Can't live without my Costco. The one thing I hate about this place is some of the other people that shop there. They seem to have no concept of common courtesy and space. They sit in the middle of aisles blocking everyone while gorging themselves on free samples and I am always seeing boxes open with some of the product missing which renders it useless. This is in no way Costco's fault but this is just a friendly warning for others that shop there that some of the ignorant morons there my try your patience. read more

for some reason i prefer the one in Tracy over this one.The people here are not all that customer friendly. the parking lot is weird. there's this big drive way where customers come in and out and it takes forever for you to push your cart out of the driveway. read more

I've been a Costco customer for about 20 years. Their prices and service are second to none. On the very few times I've gotten a "bad" product, usually a food product, there has never been a problem returning it. Costco is a wherehouse, so those people that don't understand the concept and need individual service from the employees should go elsewhere! We spend at least half of our food budget at Costco and have rarely been disappointed. read more

Just went to Costco prior to 9:30 they were locking up the pumps. If Costco says they are going to be open till 9:30 they should be open till 9:30. Costco should not be closing early especially since people pay a membership fee. read more

Lets just say shopping at costco is fine, no problems there besides the long lines and accational double charge for one item. If your planning on getting your eyes done at their optical department i would think twice and go some place else. I came in over a month ago to get my eyes examined for contacts and ordered 2 different trial packs to try for my eyes. After paying $160 i was told they would contact me in about 2 weeks when they arrive. After waiting a little over 2 weeks i gave them a call and was told that my contact prescription was advanced and may take a little extra time. Since my eyes arent the greatest i wasnt to surprised. So today its been a month and 3 days so i called back. The lady said she would call and find out where they might be because it had been quite a long time and they should be there by now. So i get a call back to tell me the order was NEVER placed and that it was an error on their part. Yeah no sh#t. So if you do go to this costco optical make sure your order is placed. Ill be waiting another 3+ weeks. Merry Christmas. read more

This isn't exactly about Costco so much as it is about the Optometrists in the building. I know that they are independent, but they are in Costco. I went for a pretty simple light prescription. I get headaches without the right glasses. I just moved to Manteca from Hayward and decided to try the optometrists in Costco. I got an Appointment with Dr. Hur. She was very nice and so were the girls at the desk. I sat down and she looked then stopped and convinced me that I needed my eyes dialated to get the correct rx. That was the first wrong move. I got my glasses and they were WAY off and they were reading glasses. Not accurate at all. Maybe if my eyes were dialated all the time they would work, unfortunately they are not. SO I went back. She gave me a new rx. I felt like she did it just to make me happy, and didn't really think that I needed the glasses I actually do need. So I got the new glasses, put them on and could tell that they were not right immediately. They made me feel cross eyed. Went in this time to Dr. Cabrera. He was INCREDIBLY rude. Made remarks insinuating that I was the problem, not the glasses. Had a bad attitude. I said this was the second rx and I just wanted my money back. He then informed me that they absolutely would not refund on "professional" Services. THey are NOT professional! Do not go there unless you want the wrong rx glasses and no recourse for a refund. I did file a complaint about them with Costco since they do work inside their building. I do understand that they are not employed by Costco, but Costco allows them to practice there and should be aware of the awful service they provide. I intend to see if there is anything like the AMA or a state board where I can file a formal complaint against Dr. Hur and Dr. Cabrera. read more

Okay, I know this is Costco, and a lot of people are coming here to shop, but seriously, they need to either open another one, or make room for people to actually shop around., oh yah, the staff are friendly and fast. They have a gas station as well, which is really nice, but you either have to have cash/debit or american express, but i think that applies to all costcos. read more

So one day I decided to make Pesto for a family event, and Costco is my go to place to shop for the ingredients. For the sake of time, I decided to get two rotisserie chicken for the dish. However, as I was removing the bone off the meat from one of the chicken, I saw that the meat was still a bit pink. I didn't really find it a problem until I checked the other chicken. I found that there was still blood on the bone and the meat was still evidently red. This was such a shocker since this came from one of the stores that I enjoy shopping at the most This is totally unacceptable and whoever was working at the time should get fired because people can get poison from raw meat. Clearly, Costco has lost one of its customers. read more

Amazing Service, professional. I arrived at my appointment early, but they took me anyways. The Doctor Who did my exam was very friendly, personable, intelligent and I would highly recommend it to anyone who needed to renew a prescription for their glasses or contacts. Who are we kidding, nobody likes going to these types of appointments, so when you get somebody who really goes above and beyond to make your experience a good one, well there's something to be said about that. This review is about the food court. OK, so they drop Polish Dogs (bad idea in my opinion as well as many of my friends). Get up to the front of the line and attempt to order the newest item "Al Pastor Salad". Sorry we don't have it "Our prep team didn't fix it". So no AP salad and no Polish!! Ok I'll take 2 slices of pizza and two dogs. I wait behind three other people also waiting on their orders. Only one register open and at least five workers backing her up with a long line of waiting customers at 1:30PM. Not a good look. New product not available and NO Polish Dog. I failed to mention the lady in front of me wanted a vanilla chocolate swirl ice cream. It's no longer available. Costco you're trying to make a healthier menu at the expense of what your customers want. No mocha freeze, No nutty vanilla ice cream bar. No Polish. No swirl. I can't even get the replacement. I think this is more about profit margins and workforce not customer experience at the food court. I wonder if Sam's Club will follow. read more

My favorite Costco ever. There is always plenty of parking, no matter what time or day, and there is usually not much wait at the registers if any. The selection is good, and I really like the self checkouts they have if you are only buying a few items. Even the gas station usually does not have any lines. read more

In general, Manteca's Costco has a well stocked and clean facility. But, in the produce department, specifically in the cooler section is out of control. Produce has been spoiled right out of a fresh container, under stocked and filthy/unsafe on several occasions. To bad it is our local Costco. read more

We have been going to this Costco since they opened and have received great service. We have had to return a few things over the years and the always take them back with no problems. All the the checkers have always been friendly with us. So much better than having to leave town or shop at Wal Mart. The meat is sooooooo much better. read more

I'm thinking the entry person checking cards needs to check how she is coming across. My family and I shop here all the time...the other day we came home from a trip down South and stopped in at costco for gas and a hot dog. My son had rode with his grandparents...so he had his backpack with him seeing how he was coming home with us he didn't want to forget it. We met at the front and entered together. The door greeter said in a rude tone...umm we're going to check his bag on your way out. Now, I'm not one for fighting policy...but I am a stickler on manners and the way we were approached and talked to just felt accusing and rude. Even my son said "that's mean..I wouldn't steal anything." I have a friend who works here and I fully support this costco. Usually it's a good shopping experience...but this time...not so much. If you're going to say you have to check bags why do I not here the same request to the women who have huge purses?!? Just wrong customer services :-/ read more
