I had a really upsetting experience at my local Walmart. I went into the store with my grandmother, stepmother, and little sister. When the adults left, it was just me and my sister. Suddenly, Walmart staff stopped me at the door and accused me of stealing. They asked to see my receipt, which I showed them. Then they said I had more than 4 items, even though I made two different transactions because we forgot to pay for a few items. I explained that I made separate purchases. They also asked to see the clearance tags. I explained that all my items said $1, and I even scanned all four of my $1 items because I had the money. I told them I was about to show them my second receipt, but they shushed me and just told me to follow them to a room. I was scared and didn't do it because I knew I hadn't stolen anything. They still kept accusing me and didn't give me back my receipt. What really upset me is that the lady followed me out of the store calling me a thief. It was really humiliating and racist. Went in to buy a simple battery for my remote control for my fan. It's locked in a cage. There's no service button to push or anything. Come on Walmart, Target has it! I had to wait a good 10 minutes to find someone that can do it for me and he wasn't as friendly. Those little things makes me not ever want to go into Walmart. In 11 years of shopping in town, I've gone to this store too many times. I suspect that many people take a look at the Safeway prices and go to Walmart. I've had a gooey Marketplace salad that was not expired, and other items where they just didn't put them in the correct temperature in time. I try not to buy any Walmart brands, but I have to be careful about cold items. I feel for anyone working at Walmart but some of the staff is rude and compel me to want to buy online. Self-checkout staff is okay, though. The store doesn't look bad but go to Northwest Arkansas within an hour of the headquarters and you will be shocked at how good the stores are. read more

After reading some of the comments I have to give my experience. I never thought that I would buy groceries from Walmart. Since l living in Manteca cos almost four years this is where I buy majority of my groceries. They carry wild caught whiting and salmon. A 12 pack is always $5. I have both Walmart and Safeways app so before buying certain items like butter and cheese I compare the price. Better Good brand has some good stuff. The little Filipino lady at the money center was the first employee I ever talked to and she is so nice. When I go to the money center I'm looking for her but Alejandro is cool too. The self check out workers are super cool. I love them how the love thy neighbor commandment expects use to. This Walmart makes me feel like i'm doing something wrong. I never have any issues while doing my actual shopping, not anything crazy at least, but it's always at self-checkout. Usually they're in a bad mood and it's annoying because it's not my fault! There's one guy who is sometimes there, he's pretty nice and helpful. However there's one lady who treats you like you're committing a crime by using self-checkout. She always stands right by my register, making sure I don't steal?? She even goes to tell the other people so scoot a bit so she can stand there and watch. I'm sorry but I have no need to steal, nonetheless from WALMART. Plus they don't take Apple Pay so thumbs down for that too. Oh! AND on a previous occasion, the machine got stuck and didn't give the correct amount of change back (paid cash) and so I let the employee know + asked for help. She became annoyed and said she had to ask the manager.... I said okay and was waiting when she came and asked if I had change for what she was giving me. Before I could answer, she just threw it at me and so I just stood there. I'm not lying when I say that it was .1 seconds before she just threw it. Apparently they let everyone that doesn't have a pickup order park so the people that actually have pickup orders have to driver around and waste time and gas until the customer comes out leaves. Which defeats the whole purpose. This isn't the first tome either. read more

I'm so over Walmart's delivery service. How many times have I ordered from this store and they say you will have your delivery that day??? Many times in which they send a sorry it will be late or you will get it the next day!!! The most recent order I had put in was returned to their store!!! It was peroxyl mouth wash and Atkins bars!!!!! Do not say you will have it to me that day and then say it was returned to store. Of course they take your money right out for your items but then cancel your order five days later. Then you get to wait 10 days to be refunded your money. Unbelievable!!! read more

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at the Walmart store in Manteca, CA. I was treated disrespectfully and unfairly by staff after attempting to use a coupon -- something I had successfully done many times before without any issue. Instead of handling the situation professionally, I was publicly embarrassed and insinuated to be using a fake coupon, which is completely unacceptable. What makes the situation worse is that, after I filed a complaint, the only response I received was a generic explanation about Walmart's coupon policy, which had nothing to do with the real problem -- the lack of respect and professionalism shown by employees. No one from store management has reached out to investigate or take responsibility. It feels like Walmart is trying to justify the mistake rather than admit it and make things right. If i could give no stars i would. They never have anything you want. I placed yet another order and of course half of it does not get filled because they have nothing. Then what you do get. They put a single extra small item in 1 bag each instead of putting them all together, just so they can charge you for 10 bags. I think i need to start driving out of town to a better stocked store! Better customer service store! Management is never available either! Dont try to get a manager by calling or walking in the store! Service in the outdoors department... non existent! I see him struggling so does the"customer service attendant " you would think she would walk up and try to help this poor disabled person. NOPE she would rather watch him struggle! Went to buy headphones. So, you know I gotta get help so they can unlock the glass. There were 5 employees in a huddle talking when I walked up and said hi, one of them said. I'll take you over. Ask me what headphones I wanted.I pointed the top one and then took a phone call on his phone from a friend. Telling him to come by in 10 minutes, Cause he'll be on break. Staff forgot which headphones I wanted , so he asked me again. Then started conversation with co-worker. when he was done talking to his co-worker. Staff asked again, which headphones do you want? So I just stared at him and he just stared right back at me. Yeah this younger generation sucks ass and really should not be working without adequate training in customer service!! read more

If you are going here looking for Hot Wheels don't bother. My cousin works overnight at this location and said the workers who unload the truck open every box and grab what they want. So in conclusion if you live out of the way save your gas this is the worst location for Hot Wheel or any diecast hunting including Greenlight, M2 or Matchbox. read more

I went to Walmart one night because I needed a wheel cover for my car and one worker named GEORGETTE was ringing me up and was extremely rude to me !! She told me I can't use my card for more than two times or else my account will be locked and told me to wait 10 minutes and I asked if she would hold my stuff and she said she would. I came back and they were all gone !! She didn't bother helping me retrieve my items from the front service desk when they put it back and i felt lost and confused why it was all happening. I even had a gift card to use and when I tried to get it back from her because she threw it away she insisted the trash was already gone but it wasn't !! She just didn't bother looking for it. If it wasn't for another worker named GRACEPHINE who came in to help me with my items and purchases I would be lost. She made such a great effort to help and was so nice to me. I hate shopping at Walmart and tonight adds one more reason to the list! I close to never shop in the store. It's rare to see me inside of one and I only live a mile away from this local Walmart. I go in maaaaaaaaaybe once every few years. I almost always shop online. Tonight I tried to go in to make a return from one of my online purchases. The store closes at 11pm. I went in at 9:30pm. I figured it would be fine to make a return since the store is still open. Two Caucasian female employees were in the customer area chatting and moving around carts. I walked into that area, passed by them both to get to the counter. Neither of them said a word to me until I stopped and turned around to look at them both thinking one would come to help me. One asked what I needed and I told her I needed to make a return. Her response "sorry we close at 8 here." Why?! Your store is open until 11pm. It makes zero sense to me why they would close customer service 3 hours before the entire store closes. Or better yet, why is that information not clearly posted some where! This is the only store I've ever experienced this, but its not surprising why. It's walmart. I'll stick with my usual go to, target. Where things make sense. If their pricing wasn't as affordable as it is, I'd never go to Walmart. Their stores are always a mess, it's dirty (particularly the bathroom and carts) and you can't ever find an associate when you need one. When you do find someone, they either don't know anything about anything, don't know English very well, or they're rude as heck. Not to mention paging someone to unlock the cabinets, is a nightmare. Racist store. They got into a whole fight with a woman because they ASSUMED she didn't pay for something. Yes, she was a person of color. Stressing her out and her children and even tried to take her product she paid for. Walmart needs to tell their employees that LEGALLY they cannot check receipts, "A Walmart greeter cannot force you to show your receipt. There is also no legal backing to this practice unless they have reasonable proof to suspect you of shoplifting." This is about the pharmacy.why I switched from Costco Pharmacy I'll never justify. I'm on heart meds, I cannot stop taking my meds, they were refilled today at walmart. I get in the store, walk up to the pharmacy rt at 7 pm. The cages are rolled up and I ask if I could plz get my prescriptions ,I need to take them this evening . Both workers behind the counter are rude to me saying we close at 7. The parking lot is full of people literally harassing you for money and there's a huge safely problem. The only cool guy there is the guy that plays guitar. He doesn't bother anyone. I bought an equate electric toothbrush, but I didn't end up liking it because the head was too big, so it was uncomfortable while brushing. The box said, "Satisfaction guaranteed - Or we'll replace it or give you your money back". I was definitely going to get my refund. Associate told me they can't accept it because it's used, but I told her that the box says I can get a refund. She's still telling me she can't refund me. I told her how would I know if I'm satisfied if I don't used it? She said she doesn't know. She supposedly makes a phone call with her personal cell phone then tells me that I would have to contact equate. I go in my car and search up customer support for equate and only got Walmart. I called Walmart customer support and they told me they couldn't do anything because it was an in-store transaction. I go back inside and she raises her eyebrows and says, "what?" I told her that I couldn't find equate customer support so who do I contact? She again says she can't accept it because it's a used hygienic item. I told her that I searched up the policy and it only lists hygienic medical equipment to which she responds by saying that the electric toothbrush is a medical equipment and I told her that it's not. She states that she already made a phone call and offered to get the manager. She walks away as 3 customers line up behind me. She comes back with gloves and issues me a refund. I grab my receipt and walk away. As I'm walking away she sarcastically yells, "you're welcome!" I didn't receive no apology for her misunderstanding of the policy and for her to shame me in front of customers as if I did something wrong was very disrespectful. The fact that the statement on the wall behind her says "Happy to help" and she definitely was not happy to help me with my return. I'm not sure if it's because I'm short or if it's because I'm Asian because people tend to think I'll be easily intimidated and let it go, but she was very passive and rude. Came to Purchase a bike for my daughter and I asked an employee for assistance and the employee instead of helping me said they're going to send someone for assistance. I waited almost half hour and I went to customer service to get assistance and complain about lack of customer service. They said they'll send someone. Again waited 20+ minutes with no response. Go ahead. Poke fun at Walmart. Laugh about the People Of Walmart. But if you need to grab some stuff at low prices, and don't need good customer service, then Walmart is a good option. Here's what the Manteca Walmart has going for it: It's at the Main Street exit on Highway 120, which is practically the new center of town. It's surrounded by other shops, including a Vietnamese cafe with the punderful name unPHOgetaBOWL. It's a Supercenter, meaning that it includes a full grocery section. It has lots of parking. And it has the usual yuge selection of things that you usually get at a Walmart, at very low prices. It also has horrible customer service, the clientele leans toward the seedy side, checkout is slow, and it's a little dirty. I remember buying ammo here, but Walmart as a whole is not stocking it in California anymore due to the politicians using laws and excessive regulations to keep us citizens from protecting our families with firearms. I can't write to the food, I've bought it at the Modesto McHenry Walmart but not this one. It looks good, but I just don't know. Basically, it's a Walmart. It works. And if you hate this Walmart or Walmart if general, I won't argue with you about it. read more
