I've never had a problem with my membership. It is my father's and my name is on the account. I am biracial (black and white), my father is white and his picture is on the account, so I get why she stopped me even though I have never been stopped before. She went straight into saying that I am not on his account and I won't be able to shop today without even checking to see if I was, she never even asked for my name. How could she possibly know I wasn't on my father's account if she didn't even know my name??? She immediately wouldn't let me in the store when I didn't match the picture on my account when multiple people scanned past me during this situation and their pictures didn't match either, some weren't even the same sex. I have never been targeted but it sure does feel like I was today. I was going to spend over 500$ after being out of town all week, but I had no problem taking my business somewhere else today. Store is still not as clean and seemed cluttered as my other and it was like a third world country down their now with the employees mirroring the level of shoppers. I have shopped there for over 30 years yet have shopped at another much more often for the last 10 years, nicer location and customer orientated employees, even though it is further from my home. Night and day between the two, quality of the staff etc. Never again unless it is a last resort. I'm sure management is aware. Self check out was very unhelpful. Three staff members standing right in the middle talking to each other Had to ask one of them to scan my few item. Always put the codes up for them. I guess they expect you to scan your own purchase. The store is always clean and always busy. Other than the typical rude behavior by customers around the sample stations, it's a good shopping experience. This is a smaller store,but has plenty to offer. There is currently construction to move the gas station to the west side of the parking area, which is a good move. read more

I love Costco. I have been shopping at Costco for over 40 years (price club days as a kid) but this location is rude. I had someone say 'oh my god' because I asked for foil for my bunless hotdog. They stopped allowing foil for some reason. She was nasty towards me and while I appreciate that her job can be hard, I simply asked for foil. The other day I asked for a price adjustment and without even looking at me the rude guy says to just bring it back. I lug the damned ice maker back and the woman gives me the most condescending lecture about returns. She implied I'd abused their policy. It's my understanding that I can return whatever I want. This woman was beyond rude and she lost a customer. I'm not done with Costco because I prefer them to other large retailers. However, my money won't go to this location again. I went and repurchased the ice maker (and $400 in other items) at another location. This may be closer but I'm not going to spend my mon y somewhere that I'm going to be disrespected in front of customers. I'm sorry that these people seem to be having one long bad day but perhaps it's time to find a job they like. read more

Standard Costco. Friendly employees and clean store. Food Court is currently closed through October but I will gladly wait to get that $1.50 hotdog and drink meal! Had to take off 1 star as one of the primary reasons I come here is for gas. The way the pumps are situated is terrible. You might end up waiting in a line down the street before even turning into the area where the gas is located. And if someone towing anything gets near the entrance, you should just go inside for some samples cuz it's gonna be a minute (only 1 small area to turn in which then spreads into about 8 lines). read more

I come here to get gas, which is usually 25 cents less (today $1.99, 12/19/20), than the cheapest gas outside Costco, which would be Arco and Circle K at $2.25. I am missing coming here for light lunch, those free food samples. I learned about my favorite foods from these samples. Costco food buyers are really really good at what they do. I like the $1.50 hot dogs too, but when Covid did away with the unlimited onion dispenser, I stopped buying the hotdogs. This Thomas store is much smaller than the one in North Scottsdale near Northsight. I like it smaller cos I have so far to walk to find things at the larger store. This Thomas St one is easier to find what merchandise I am looking for. Costco is good for buying vitamin supplements when they go on sale. Like they have a sale on TruNature Krill Oil 900 mg for $12.99 for 70 capsules, 2.2 months supply, which is $6 off. When I google krill oil, it costs $22 - $30+ for only 1 month supply. Indeed at the same time, Kirkland had a sale for their krill oil that was only 500 mg for $17.99 and that is after $5 off, so $23 for almost half the mg. I feel that Costco is more expensive for same item when grocery stores have their sales. Costco is also more expensive for many items that I find at WalMart and you have to buy such large sizes at Costco. One thing I am annoyed with Costco, is everything is "chicken", I mean chicken won ton (Chinese eat PORK and SHRIMP, not chicken!), chicken pot pies, chicken tamales, and so on. No beef or pork is offered. Here are some of my favorite Costco food items that you cannot buy at Walmart or other grocery store, these photos below. Update: Watch out for low flying birds in the parking lot and homeless guys riding bikes. Tough part of town. Very small version of the chain. The food court seating area is tiny as is the food area itself. No way they need that new ordering system kiosk as it just clogs the area up. Also about 70 percent of the customers are Spanish speaking , while 10% hail from Sudan and they arrive in full tribal gear like they are still in their country. This Costco also does not sell furniture. On a good note, almost half the managers are friendly and CDS staff is nice too. read more

I've been a paying Costco member since 2015. In my opinion...Costco philosophy, treat all your customers like criminals. Somehow billions of people are using facial recognition but Costco is unable to know if you are a paying member; despite showing your membership before entering, again during checkout and then after you pay you get to hand your receipt to an employee to verify your purchases before you leave...like you stole something between the cash register and the exit. Build a brand new gas station despite the environmental impacts and don't bother to install one single EV charging station. Set up self checkout in the food court but don't tell anyone the protocol on the receipt of how to get your items, so you can stand, wait and genuinely feel stupid for not knowing what to do. Charge single people the same membership fee as couples and families because who cares about single people. Costco is so last century and I am disappointed. read more

Went here for the first time with my kids. Not worth the hype. The membership lady was really nice tho and gave my kids cards to play. All the other customers seemed rather unhappy to be there and it gave a "look out for yourself" vibe. Later on an employee lost control of her sample cart and a huge cooking appliance smashed right by my 2 year old on the ground while she was walking. Shards of glass everywhere.... The employee didn't even checked to see if my baby was ok. Felt like this is only a "if you have to go here be prepared for battle" kind of place. I like deal but at what cost for that level of stress while shopping?! read more

Was shopping with my family and during self checkout the associate was rude. We were performing a single transaction and the associate came up to us and said that only the member can pay for the transaction. That was the plan. We told her that we understood and that this was the plan all along. She then gives us a remark that we cannot have multiple transactions. And stares at us. We told her again that we were only doing a single transaction and that the member was paying. She then proceeded to stand by us the entire time and watch our transaction. Making the process stressful. Anytime someone would get close to the kiosk she would move to get a clear view of what we were doing. And when another customer needed assistance she would yell to another associate to assist them while right next to us. Thats not customer service and it needs to be improved. read more

This review is specific for the tire center. I'll start by saying that I don't usually leave bad reviews since it takes a lot for me to be upset but unfortunately the staff were very rude and it was not only one person but multiple which makes me think that's how the business is run. I chose to come here because they have very good tire warranty but next time I need to get any tire service I will go to a different location. Oh and if you walk in and stand too close from the doors the alarm will go on and expect to be told to move in the most unfriendly way. This didn't happen to me specifically but I noticed it happening twice to other costumers. I do have to admit the staff was better the second time I went and by better I mean neutral and by no means friendly. read more

Super disappointed in my appliance purchase - the day of delivery the installer realized Costco put the wrong appliance on truck. 2nd day of staying home for the 4 hour window and no show/no call. While they use 3rd party installers, they certainly should have protocols/procedures that should be adhered to - to become that 3rd party installer. Finally got the appliance yesterday - a month late - NEVER AGAIN with COSTCO - good for toilet paper not so much for appliances. read more

They had the worst customer service! I came in with my five month old baby and had a cart full of groceries and baby supplies. The lady at the register ask if my husband on the card was with me and I replied no he couldn't come because he can't currently walk. I mentioned I could prove to her I was his wife...She then ask me to call him so that he could add me to his account and after doing so...take my baby out of the shopping cart and walk to guest services to get a printed card. I made the mistake of trying to stop at Costco at 44th St and Oak for a bite to eat. The harassment started as soon as I entered the store. Showed my Costco ID, but that wasn't good enough for the little tyrant guarding the door. I guess I didn't fully bow down to the Costco gate keeper. Another employee track me down and asked to see my Costco ID. I asked him if he wanted my driver's license and a DNA sample too. He didn't appreciate my humor. He proceeded to argue and lecture me, while I stood there waiting for my food. The Costco ID tracker finally went away, but he had a Costco security guard shadow me in the food court. Absolutely unbelievable. I will NOT be going to the Costco store at 44th St and Oak in Phoenix anymore. People today are giving a little authority, and become little tyrants. Costco is awesome. (Enough said!) This Costco has the usual large parking lot that is almost always full of cars. It is a rare day that a parking spot opens up near the entrance and you just happen to be right there, ready to park. If you've never been in a Costco, they are all about the same. Sometimes the entry is on the right, sometimes it's on the left. Costco has a good selection of seasonal merchandise. Just be aware that when they run out you'll have to wait until next year if you missed out. read more

Fully stocked Costco, but no car wash here (bummer)! I was also looking for a whisk, just egg, and beyond sausage doesn't appear to be in Costco's just yet, but I knew the Whisk was hit or miss. I love that this Costco have self check lanes so that those who have very few items can get in and out. The Weekends are extremely busy with very long lines. I went here on a weekday during the day it was still busy but lines were not long. I got in and out didn't have to wait around for a cart or anything. The only thing I wished they kept in stock is Gatorade Zero, it seems they never have it and we have to track down a Sam's club to get a few cases. Also the parking lot is not as big as other Costco's and it seems a bit more relaxed here too not too stuffy! read more

Waited in a really long line on a Sunday, like I expected. What I didn't expect is humiliation from a coscto worker. I didn't see the "credit only line" since it's so busy. I wait about 15 minutes to get to the front, scan all my items-- to where I see the card only sign. The employee laughed at me and said "well hopefully your card works" I had cash on me because I don't get paid until this week, which isn't Costco's fault. But when I proceeded to embarrassingly try my debit card, she laughed at me and said "well go choose any other line" In the mist of the o pandemic, the last thing I need is judgement from a retail worker. When your biggest complaint about a store is the long checkout times... and that's only because there are so many customers and all of the registers are already open, then it's not really a complaint at all. Their executive membership also is a bit steep at $120 per year... but at least I get cash back on my purchases. With all of that said, I loooove Costco! This is a pretty good Costco. Was in the area and decided to drop by to see if a discontinued item at my Scottsdale Costco would be there. Low and behold, Yes. I bought my items and discovered that they have items that are different than my regular Costco. For example, I found GHEE, an item used in indian cooking. I liked the parking layout as well. The scottsdale Costco has parking spots right in front of where you enter the store. It's a miracle that no one has been run over while a car is backing up. read more

Went in to get a leak in my tire patched (I have a warranty due to purchasing them from Costco). It took 3 hours. I went shopping and was going to purchase approximately $300 worth of products, but my order was put back. The food court was closed (I planned on eating dinner and waiting there) and after 90 minutes of wandering around browsing I asked a supervisor to hold my cart until my car was ready. The tire center closes at 6pm (it was approximately 4:30pm). I was there at 6:07pm to pay for my groceries after collecting my vehicle (I would've purchased my items earlier, but could not do to my vehicle being worked on) and they had been put back. This is extremely frustrating as I am currently handicapped due to heart issues. I've been a member for many years and have never had any issues of this sort before. This is just for the Costco ONLINE and not this particular store, but online doesn't have a social media presence. I ordered a dishwasher with the delivery date of the 17. On the morning of the 17th I received an email saying that someone had rescheduled me to the 24th. Funny, I didn't do it, and I'll be out of the State on the 24th. I called Costco customer service and spoke with Morgan who was equally as perplexed as to why that happened, and she was great. However, she could not change the date from the 24th so I asked her to transfer me to her manager. This guy Joshua was the epitome of don't bother me syndrome. He said his deliveries were behind and there is nothing he could do about it, so I went to the back of the delivery line. Um, why didn't I get flagged as a priority and moved to the front? Well, according to Joshua, it just doesn't work that way. They are at the mercy of the supplier they chose. My patience was thin at this point and his only recourse was a $50 gift certificate! I don't give a damn about a gift certificate! I want what I paid for on the date that you said you would deliver it. He got all sanctimonious on me and made it out to be that I was unreasonable. I went with Costco because the installation was free and with my military discount it was still cheaper than Lowes. I will never spend another dollar at Costco. Lowes has my loyalty, and as many vets as I can get the word out to. Avoid Costco and their entitled, sanctimonious customer service department (Morgan was great though). read more
