This review is for Costco Vision. It's the typical experience when you walk in the door and need to display your membership card. No problem. Upon browsing in the Optical Department for new glasses, my mom snd I appreciated the assistance of a staff member who gave us advice on what fit well on our noses and also on the face. We both ordered glasses and I ordered two pairs of different frames. When I arrived to pick up my glasses after receiving the convenient text message, it was clear that one pair was way off and needed to be sent back. Fortunately I had ordered another pair that will get me through until the next remade pair arrives. I'm not sure how to rate the service, as it seemed very personally focused and yet the final result was way off? I will say that the cost for the glasses was lower than other stores. In addition, Costco Vision was recommended by my mom's ophthalmologist. I will provide an update when I pick up the remade frames. read more

The central Avenue location proves and not all Costco's are created equal... While they don't have a full liquor license, they do have an excellent wine selection. The store is always clean, well stocked, and well staffed. You may pay a little more for some of them merchandise at Costco, but you absolutely get good products. From the pizza by the slice to the $5 rotisserie chicken it's all solid! read more

I prefer this Costco to the Perrysburg location even though the parking/gas situation is incredibly undesirable. The staff here, like most Costcos are very friendly. The product is your normal stuff. We order pizza over the phone often and it's generally ready by the time we get to the store. Very efficient food court. read more

Wow- the individually packed frozen seasoned salmon is excellent. The lactose-free milk is a family favorite and stays fresh a long time. Cheaper & Tasty wine here too. White nectarines are fantastic now- great flavor and carefully packaged in a cardboard flat. Fast check out and self checkout- always easier in mid-day. The Cashiers are fast and friendly. I moved to SoCal in the late 80s, and I was introduced to Price Club, which is now Costco. Every time I go into a Costco warehouse, I wished that Costco had existed when I was a child. I grew up in a family of 5 children, with 4 of them being boys. My Mother would go to the local grocery a couple times a week, primarily for milk. Price Club (Costco) would have been a go-to for sure. Being a short-time employee of this particular Costco - hired on as a seasonal employee for the 2013 holiday season. I remained as an employee at Costco for about 1.5 years until I was able to secure a position in my career field. A great company to work for. Now that I live in the area, I am usually at Costco a couple times per week. My membership practically pays for itself in fuel savings alone at the Costco gas pumps. Costco business model is a win-win all the way around. Once you learn to shop the deals and do your homework on items of interest, you can save a lot of money so long as you have adequate storage for the Costco sized packaging. Costco is one of my faves for shopping and especially for buying gasoline for our vehicles. read more

In my opinion Costco is to big for my taste. The air conditioning is on all the time even in the winter. I mean the employees are nice some of the nicest. Not to mention the gas station the line took me 20 minutes just to get to the pump. But it's not the store for me I'm sorry people. read more

This review is for the Costco gas station only as we didn't enter the store. We were traveling through the area on the way home after Thanksgiving and needed to stop for gas. As a Costco member I usually check for Costco gas stations when I need to stop for gas and this location was along our route. We also use an App called GasBuddy to check prices and found the prices in the area were generally around $2.25-$2.35, but Costco broke the $2.00 mark coming in at just $1.99! I like! As is the case with other Costco gas stations, vehicles always enter from one direction and leave in the same direction for an orderly flow of traffic. There are no extras like restrooms (in the store if you must), convenience stores, or even the usual things for cleaning your windshield! Just great prices on gas and then on your way, thank you very much! read more

I went to Costco today with my yorki puppy which is my service dog she weighs 1lb I had her in my bag and placed her in the cart i was just going to grab a few things I've brought her there several times and no issues or problem. The first greeter seen her no problem we went through the whole store people seen her employees as well no issues we checked out all good as I'm leaving the lady who checks receipts asked "did anyone say anything to you about the dog"? I said no then she proceeded to say dogs aren't allowed unless they're walking and must be a service dog. I never seen any signs or had anyone say anything I have social anxiety disorder no other stores have denied my 1lb yorkie who doesn't bark and is way to small to walk I just think Costco should change their policy. I understand some people take advantage but for me I need my animal. read more

My sister was looking for a new car and I remembered from my car-selling days that the people that had a Costco membership got treated better than the average customer. Less tricks and and more respect. The cars she was looking at were the Jeep Gladiator and the Subaru Outback. She has a long commute and was tired of driving a sedan. She needed to see above the herd. She had established rapport with a salesman at Subaru named Jon and he was willing to let her test drive any car that Yark had, back to back. We tried Alfas and Dodges and Jeeps and Subarus. When she had narrowed it down I said that she might want to see of they participate in the Costco Auto program. Costco chooses certain dealerships to work with them and help pre-negotiate the sale prices ahead of time. Only certain sales people were allowed to have those sales at the dealership and those are usually the top sales people. She found out that Yark was one of those dealerships and so she went back to try her two top choices-the Gladiator and the Outback. We spent the afternoon going back and forth between the two, until she decided on the Outback. Everything went smoothly and she has the vehicle she wanted! Postcript: After getting her car, she looked at the rest of Costco's programs and got her eyeglasses. She got them for $300 less then she would had paid at the mall! I ordered a new mattress with Costco (on line) October 16 and scheduled the delivery for Oct 25th. On Saturday the 22nd I received a text msg that the delivery had been moved to November 1st. I have called them twice and have received terrible customer service with absolutely no help or info other than we are checking on it. I looked on the Costco website at this same mattress on the 22nd to see if it was out of stock and that was the problem. Not only was the mattress in stock but a delivery of Oct 27th was promised if I ordered it that day. What gives Costco???? I will not be ordering anything from Costco again. Well, let me first say I walked away from Costco in Toledo with a feeling of outstanding confidence in the eye examination I was given by the Village Vision Care staff. My experience with Dr. Patrick Henry was incredibly good. His consultation and explanation of my examination as a result of the tests taken of regarding my eye health was outstanding. He showed me things and explained things that I had never received from any optical exam in my life. His style and personality was exceptional. Both my wife and I were seen by Dr. Henry and we agreed that without hesitation we'll both be back to see him again in the future when we need our next eye exam. I wish we had known before about the Village Vision Care service through Costco. The receptionist/assistant on duty for our visit was very personable, informative and kind. All in all, it was the best eye exam experience ever for me. read more

Completely and horribly disappointed! Just moved here and have always been a Sam's Club member. We've heard good things about Costco, so we decided to give it a try. BIG MISTAKE!! I bought same day items and was charged $120 more than what receipt showed. When I called customer service, they had some excuse about prices being different online. I get that, but have never had issues with Walmart or Meijer's. Still not refunded and no email/ call back! Horrible way to treat a new customer and a way to lose a new customer. Awful customer service when you are standing in a ridiculous line waiting for them to check your recipt. The workers are so rude. The short blonde wasn't even doing anything and had a mouth on her. She should be fired. She was rude to about 4 others. That behavior is not acceptable. I also called and said they would relay the message. Don't bother. I'm taking all my bussiness to Sam's club. They are so much nicer and sams is way cleaner and way better customer service when you walk in or out. read more

It's hard to imagine having a strong good opinion about a department store, but I do about this one. The high points about this place are: - inexpensive food and commodities - unbelievably helpful & friendly employees - cheap gas - a full service optical store/doctor - food samples They have a limited selection of things they carry, like one kind of spaghetti sauce, but they study products before deciding to carry anything. But when they pick something, it is inexpensive. One down side to this is they do occasionally switch things they carry. I got hooked on a tomato soup which they later stopped carrying. The employees genuinely enjoy working there and it shows. Everyone is friendly and overly helpful, a wonderful change from the normal experience. More than once I've asked someone a question on where something was, only to have them tell me, and then proceed to walk me to the far side of the store to make sure I found it! They price their gas at what they bought the batch for, not immediately jacking prices up when something blows up in the Middle East. And it's significantly cheaper than other gas stations! I forget what we heard to try their optical department, but my wife did and now we only go there. You can get your eye exam there, and then also buy your glasses there. I've had trouble the two prior places I went in getting my glasses made right and fitted right, both times them making me new lenses as they made mistakes on them. But at Costco they had no trouble. We walk in and ask to have frames straightened, and they do it very professionally and with a smile. They give out food samples! We hadn't experienced this before and quite like it. We've bought a number of things as a result of trying samples. All in all, an excellent store. read more

PROS: This is a great store to shop at. The experience is always a good one. The dales are good, even the ones they don't list in their monthly coupon booklet. Executive Membership gives you rewards so if you shop the frequently, you get 2% back which can help you pay for next year's membership. Gas is always the lowest in town. CONS: Items come and go so some of you favorite products may be there one day and gone the next. Very annoying. In addition, some of the prices are high. More than a couple. Also, they now have eliminated self checkout for reasons unknown.That makes zero sense since the wait is longer. It definitely is an inconvenience. read more

This is a Costco. If you look at the business model the company, like many other large corporate companies, all the stores are just about the same. There isn't much to say that most people don't know unless you are not a member or have never been in. If you know nothing about Costco, the concept is simple. You pay a membership fee and are able to get larger quantities of goods at a cheaper price. You're buying in bulk without any of the glitz and glamour of a normal grocery store. Boom. That's Costco. The best part about Costco is, in my humble opinion, the gas prices! If you are like me, and think that gas prices are sometimes pretty outrageous, then this is your locale. I have an app on my phone which tells me the cheapest places to buy gas in Toledo, and I have never found a place that was the same price or lower than Costco. Also, while I don't go out of my way to buy organic food I have noticed that the prices for it are cheaper here than at most places. When I have the choice I definitely try to buy organic, especially if it is closer to the price of the non-organic products. Not to mention, there is an organic/higher-end grocer in the plaza as well if you can't satisfy all your organic needs at Costco. There is also a Stein Mart next door - so if you're looking to hang out and talk with all the elderly gentleman and ladies that work there, then you're in luck! I'm not sure why, but it always seems like there are older women working there... not complaining, just saying. Overall, great company and great prices. Oh! They almost always have free samples! This is the best Costco I've ever been to! And yes, I've been to a lot. It's NEVER crowded here, even on a Saturday afternoon. The food court is simply awesome; I mean, $1.50 for a hot dog and soda!? Try the pizza, it's one of the best. Unlike most Costco's I've experienced, this store has a self-checkout option in case you're feeling shy and don't wanna have to talk to a checker. The products are great and very high quality (Except for Kirkland Brand Bar Soap). If it's not at Costco, you probably don't need it. P.S. My husband and I used the Costco Auto Program when we leased our new GMC Acadia. We were very happy with the process, our salesman, Jeff Trobaugh at Ed Schmidt at the Perrysburg Auto Mall was great! We got a $700 Costco gift card for doing a little paperwork and a survey. We would recommend the auto program for anyone considering a new car. read more

Auto Center. Started out fine, had a leak in tire so needed it plugged. Went in waited a while for the repair. When finished I was surprised they charged for this service as most if not ALL service places including Sam's Club, Walmart, Midas, Tire Man, and small shops do not charge for this. THEN the young kid starts telling me that my rim where it meets the lugs had more grease than he has ever seen in his life (all 23 years?) and by law (cuz there is a law about grease) he had to remove it for safety. I was confused at first as he was very dramatic (for a male). I asked to see the issue, too late as the repair was complete. I asked if he seen this on the other rims. He said No. So he pressed how it was a safety hazard and yet he didn't check the other rims? Junior--what u saw was Never-Seize. Very common product. Keeps the rim from 'freezing' to the metal and allows the lug not to rust onto the lugs. I would imagine they used it in your ASC Certified Mechanic School class. There is a very light coat on all the wheels, not an 'unlawful' amount. So I guess it comes down to A) Costco charges for a commonly free service and B) Not feeling very comfortable with the drama queen working on the cars. I even called customer service to express my disappointment and asked for a call back. That was 30 days ago. So, Hello Sam's Club. Guess I'm not important enough to Costco. Subsequently took the car to the dealership to check everything. Junior at Costco didn't tork the lug nuts. So much for that safety he was preaching. read more

I would give it a 5, but I feel like if I go into Costco on a weekend, I'm in for a panic attack - save your trips for a Tuesday or Wednesday night. However, the membership fee is definitely worth it, for gas, if nothing else. The best time to go and get gas is about 20-30 minutes before the gas station closes or 20-30 minutes after they open. read more

Love this place! My brother had nothing but GREAT things to say about his Costco where he lives - does ALL his shopping there. And of course for the gas. Note that you must have a Costco credit card to purchase gas, that is different than Sam's Club. Couldn't put my credit card in after his membership card. But now I am getting my own credit card from Costco so that will not be a problem anymore. Love all the free samples!!! I live a bit away so it does cause me not to purchase frozen items that I would like because I am going usually somewhere else afterwards before returning home. Can't beat the hotdog and soda for $1.50, they taste really good and the fresh onion turn machine is wonderful to pile up the onions on to the hotdog. Costco makes the hotdogs themselves I seen on a show "Behind Costco" or something like that. Their return policy is very easy - lost receipt, not a problem because they have everything right on the computer because of your membership card. read more
