My family and I have been a Costco member for 20+ years and for the first time we came across racist behavior at this Costco in Tracy. I have been coming to Tracy Costco once a week with my mother since I was a child and I have never felt this uncomfortable. My mother had an emergent call when the cashier, Amanda, asked her sarcastically, "Do you expect me to unload the cart?". My mother said yes please because she thought she was referring to our large item on the flat bed. On top of that, there was a couple in line behind us talking poorly about my mother with Amanda because she was on the phone. Amanda told the couple behind us that we are rude and careless. I would like to mention that we are not Caucasian and the couple and Amanda are. They continued to talk about us when my mother said that we don't need to be taught how to speak to a cashier nor be mothered. Amanda said that it is more rude to be on the phone as she aggressively threw our groceries in the cart. We spoke to a manager and hope this is well taken care of. I am very disappointed with the assault received by Amanda and if i receive another encounter similar to this, we are more than happy taking our business elsewhere. Store itself is great. Problem I have is with one of the checkers, I believe #24 (it's on the receipt so I can and will check later). I'm pretty sure I know his name too but the receipt 100% has it so I won't state the name until reviewing it. My mother decided to visit this store the other day and ended up grabbing two packages of paper towels. Once she got to this checker he asked her "Oh, do you have two membership cards?" which confused my mother. He then stated "you can only buy one of those, there's a sign up there" which my mom was adamant there wasn't, because we have seen the signs before. The last time I was there the sign wasn't up also. My mom just said alright and ended up buying the one. While she left and called me not knowing if the guy was being rude, she said she thought so based on how he said it but couldn't be sure. It was very obvious to me. No one has two membership cards that they use when purchasing things. It's not like someone else was there. It was just her, so asking if she had two was rude as hell while trying to emphasize that my mom is stupid because if she has two packages of paper towels then apparently she has two cards. Then to claim there's a sign and that is her fault is ridiculous when he could have stated it's one per person and moved the fuck on with his day. But since she's elderly he thinks she's just a dumb old lady. I will be going back to this store to find this employee and I will be entering his line with two packages of paper towels because I dare him to try that smart ass bullshit with me. I stopped into Costco earlier this week to return something. I got 5 star impeccable service from Rachel. Rachel gave me the best above and beyond customer service I've had in quite sometime. She helped me find the product I was returning at another location as the Tracy location was sold out of this item. She made sure they had the items in stock before I drove down there too. All of the staff here are very friendly. They give good customer service at this location overall as a staff too. I highly recommend Costco retrains the cooks on prepping & baking the chicken bakes. I was highly disappointed in how it turned out. Burnt on the outside. The feeling portion was barely half filled barely any chicken or bacon (Mostly bread). This is not fulfilling as a Costco member. It's already saddening Costco had to get rid of their food samples. Watch your personal items that you have with you. I had someone steal a jacket out of my cart. I was not paying attention in the self-check out. My attention was to the horrible Costco staff working the self-check out. She kept saying I was not scanning stuff. I was pointing at the register the items were scanned. She then slapped my hand like I was a child. I was so angry when I left leaving my jacket on the side of the cash register. I returned it was gone. Very big place with fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, and others. Value was extremely good compared to other stores that I've been to. Service and staff was nice and helpful. This store is a terrible Costxo. Just a mess as items are moved around and in strange spots. And don't even try to talk to any sort of employee or supervisor because they dont even want to be bothered. Most seem to be just gathered around the front eating. Honestly, if this is the direction they are now going with their employees and their rude managers (it all stems from the top) then we should just cancel our memberships and go to our local store bc you don't even really save after factoring the membership costs. I visited this location yesterday June 11. For the most part it looked good and well stocked. I was there at 10:10am and they were just sweeping and washing their floors! Come on! I had my 80 year old mother with me! I didn't known whether to push the shopping cart or hold her so she would slip and fall! At about 1300 female Membership desk employee is a rude byatch. Found a cell phone in the men's rear room, I'm not a member and never been here before so didn't see a sign for Lost & Found. Female employee, maybe filipina or Asian didn't even look at me and just pointed in the air towards the back of the store and says that "it's over there". Really disappointed in Costco been a member for years and they have just gone down hill. Their quality of products aren't what they were. I bought a washing machine a little over 2 years ago and when they delivered it the guy said he will be back and laughed and I said why and he said because this model is known to squeal really loud people return it all the time. It did but I could live with it. Then it started leaking a few months ago. I called Costco they told me to bring it in and then when I get there they said they couldn't take it back. They gave me the concierge to call and I said they won't help me because it says it has to be under 2 years. Renewed my basic membership cost 60 bucks, lady tried to upgrade me to Executive for 120, no thanks. There was no line, this process took 10 minutes. Then, went and grabbed an early lunch here, very inexpensive and worth it. Got a hot dog and soda for $1.50 , drinks refillable. Nice! As for shopping, just a casual shopper looking for basic household items and groceries. The fruits here seem more fresh than most grocery store, only drawback is having to purchase larger quantity. Checkout line was fairly quick, only three people ahead while waiting. All this was done around 11am so not much to complain about since it wasn't peak hours. Overall, a nice experience. The store was clean at the time and the employees were not rude. read more

What makes this Costco is all the workers who make this place up. We shop here often as do a lot of families in Tracy and each time I go I always see the same smiling faces. Not only do they genuinely enjoy the job but they go above and beyond asking how my day went, how my siblings are and what are the items they like to buy and what they think is the best deal. I've been to a few other Costco's and I can say that now of them run as well as this one does. I'd give it five stars but the huge crowds can be frustrating especially when only so many lanes get opened at once. That would be my best critic, I'd like to see more people open lanes when they need it (whether your a manager or not). read more

Apparently you have to pay for a membership in order to determine if the membership is even worth it! The woman at the entrance told us to go to the Membership desk to discuss the plans and that we could get a visitors pass to look around before signing up. The younger man at the desk asked for help with the visitors pass, but was told by another man thaat they couldn't just let us look around. I love this Costco. Everyone is so nice here. The other day after I pumped my gas at their gas station my car wouldn't start. The attendant there was so kind and came to help me. AAA said it would be 2 hours before they would arrive. So he checked my battery and charged it enough so that I could leave and take care of my car. This is just one example of the kindness I've received from employees here. This is my favorite Costco to come to because of this. Hopefully it never changes. read more

We really enjoy goin up and down each isle and exploring he whole store. The kids love the snacks they hand out throughout the store and the staff are all very friendly. I've never had a bad experience at this location and would definitely recommend the Tracy Costco. They should expand their gas station to 3 pumps on each aisle similar to the Manteca Costco gas station. This is because the lines get very long, but rightfully so there prices are the best. I recently went to our local Tracy Costco to shop as usual except I used my Costco app on my iphone instead of my physical member card. During my self checkout, a Costco worker approached me and asked to verify my picture in my Costco mobile app. I showed her but I felt offended by her act. There are other people doing self checkout using mobile Costco app member card. Why only me being monitored? was it because I am minority? I have been Costco member many years. The more I go to Costco, the more I wish that Sam's Club was easily available. I wanted to see about a few things and had never been to this location. After checking a few things, I went to get a slice of pizza and a drink. At the snack bar, the person in the line ahead of me was served and the person behind the counter walked away without taking my order or saying anything. In a little while, someone else working there took care of me. The pizza wasn't bad. I wanted a couple of things that they didn't seem to have at the location, or maybe they'd just re-arranged things after the holidays. I'll try again later.
