Canoe burger was pretty good. The patty was a bit tough but still juicy, though it fell apart easily. It tasted decent. Added bacon and it was hearty. Salad was ok. Canoe twist on a Cubano was pretty good. The schnitzel was a bit tough but it was juicy, tasty & crispy. Schnitzel aside it wasn't quite like a cubano (which I guess was part of the twist). Take it as a schnitzel sandwich. The fries were good - crispy with bite. Added gravy, which was robust. Deep fried cheesecake was good and fresh. When it arrived it was hot outside but still cold inside. The inside was quite light - approaching the consistency of whipped cream. The accompaniments of whipped cream (the real stuff, not what comes from a can) and strawberry sauce (with real strawberry) were good, though they could afford to give more strawberry sauce

I had breakfast here this morning (about 8:30) while I waited for the traffic to settle down for the drive to Toronto. I had the Country Breakfast ... two eggs, ham, home fries, toast and homemade jam ... and milk. It was good and cheap (about $6 for breakfast). It's not a fancy place ... nice and comfy. My server was friendly and attentive. I'd go back for brekkie if I was in the area.

Great spot. Good food. Good service. Love the food selection and options. The location is ideal coming back from skiing. The food is fresh and for the most part really good. Didn't enjoy my ceaser salad. The dessing was not a winner for me. Mostly mayo. The burgers, fish and chips were spot on.

Not bad, Not great either - disappointed with home fries they were dry. The hollandaise sauce was a powdered Knorr mix yellow with no flavour. The fruit was fresh & eggs ok but how can you possibly screw up on eggs or Pea-meal bacon - right ? One great thing is their coffee

I came here while waiting for some car repairs. Have been wanting to check this place out for a while. Was warmly greeted when I walked in, quickly brought a menu and water. I chose the waffle with grapefruit juice. Honestly, I walked in, ordered, and the food was in front of me in less than 10 minutes. The service was so fast!! It was quiet, but still a good amount of customers, and i noticed many people had their food brought quickly. The waffle was thick and fluffy, delicious... so the speed of the order had nonnegative effects on the food!! Just great service. The server was attentive and nice to talk to! Will definitely be back.

Was looking for somthing new in Barrie to try and booya... there was a random place that had a name that didn't freak my wife out thinking she as gonna eat weird stuff. We scoped out the menu online before entering and headed in, very glad we did, there was nice live music, good vibes, nice layout and decor. Felt real comfortable in there.... then..... I tried the mac and cheese.... and my mind was blown out of my face, the panko crusting.... the bechemel based cheese sauce.... the bacon.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... Then my wife couldn't finish her chicken parm.... heck YEA i'll finish that off too. Personally, my mac n cheese was better, but her food was also very very good! Definately go here.... do yourself a favour and get that mac n cheese.... oh yeaaaaa

A short story about Jersey Mike's, I went to their location which opened at Union Station in…read moreToronto when it first opened and while I liked the subs the customer service was very bad. When I noticed they open in North Barrie, I thought I would give it a shot. It is slightly larger than the Union Station spot and actually had tables. On to the menu I had giant Club Sub with roast beef, Turkey and bacon and had a chipotle chicken cheesesteak regular with a large drink and a bag of french onion crisps . A word to the wise, I consider myself a healthy eater, but do NOT get a giant sub with Jersey Mike's unless you have not eaten in a week. The giant sub is just too big for one person to eat in one sitting . One thing with Jersey Mikes the subs are very fresh , you can see the care they take in putting your subs together. Both subs tasted fantastic . The bread was spongy fresh. The veggies were clean and crisp and there was a lot of meat on the subs. The big difference between these two locations was that Barrie location's customer service was similar to the American stores that I heard about from my friends in the states who were raving about this franchise. You can see the meat and cheeses getting sliced in front of you with this location and they actually took the time to chat with you and check to see you enjoying the food. Yes I know they just opened and there were some minor errors but that happens for all new locations with chains. The trainers (I think they were American) were there to go over the corrections. All in All it was good value and a fine start for Jersey Mikes in Barrie. I will be going back to try the different varieties of subs and checking out their cookies as well.

GRAVELY DISAPPOINTED. I ordered 2 soups and 2 sandwiches. You're going "public" because you are ripoff artists. The soup had a grand total of 2 noodles, one piece of chicken ( ??) and a shred of a carrot. and the sandwiches were tasteless. PURE GARBAGE. STAY AWAY. RUN PEOPLE....RUN!!!!!!

The food is still delicious, but the prices have increased substantially. Now, l don't mind a price increase if you get the same amount of food as before, but 21.00 for a soup that they claim feeds 4 was extremely disappointing. By the time l had ladled barely a half cup per person, the container was gone. This hardly served 2 adults and 2 children. The pick 2 was also much smaller in size with the soup being a small half cup, thank goodness for the half a sandwich. The large mac and cheese for 10.00 pictured on the menu was also shrunk in size. I guess we should have eaten in restaurant as maybe the portions there are larger, but I have had take out portions of ice cream in a bigger container than the mac and cheese came in. And an after note.....if you order take out, check your order before you leave. We had several items missing, and had to go back for them. Maybe the difference is this is a Canadian Panera Bread, and since they are so few and far between they can get away with smaller portions for more dollars. Next time l go to a Panera Bread will be when l am back visiting in the states.
