We had such an amazing time at the first annual Crab Boil at Cottage Creek! The winery is a beautiful venue during the day, but being there before sunset was just magical. The family style table with traditional butcher paper was casual and elegant at the same time, somehow. We made new friends with the couples around us, too. The crab boil was delicious, a twist on traditional southern style with yummy artichoke along with endless crab legs, sausage, corn and potatoes. The salad grazing table was artistic and chock full of locally sourced vegetables and fruits. California Inspirations always sources has the highest quality fresh ingredients, and it showed. The Shawn Yannis duo played such a broad ranges of genres, the perfect background to a casual and friendly vibe. They were a vibe. And can't forget the amazing wine! Our choice of a glass of wine was included, and we got another bottle between the 3 of us for dinner. And making friends meant we were invited to "help" them with the bottle of wine they didn't want to finish! Can't wait until next year! read more

We attended the crab feed and had a great time listening to the band--they were really good and were definitely the highlight of the evening. The food was okay, but the crabs were quite small and the servings seemed limited. The ticket included only one small glass of wine, and any additional drinks had to be purchased separately. At $150 per person, I didn't feel the event provided good value for what was offered. While the entertainment was enjoyable, I personally would not attend again at that price point. read more

I arranged a Meetup event with the Morgan Hill Wine Trolley and this was the first stop. At the entrance of the winery, the owner met and welcomed us. It was very business like. She also did not mix and mingle with us the while time we were there. The place sits on 5+ plus acres and has a large outdoor seating area. They are only open for tastings on the weekend and the place was busy. They also had live music. They don't serve food but they always have a food truck. There is enough parking and the grounds are beautiful. The weather was perfect for wine tasting. We were there for about 45 mins and they offered 3 tastings for the wine trolley. The problem was that the pours were tiny! Generally, the servers come around with an additional complimentary tasting, especially when the group was sitting around for as long as we were there for but we had to flag someone down and ask for an additional taste! The Rose was good but they ran out and could not provide another taste but they poured us the white. The focus was on selling bottles. The prices also seem quite high as well. We had reservations for Saturday at 1:30pm. Horse Thief vineyards is located just across from them. They share parking along the dirty path. There were a lot of cars parked but it wasn't too busy when we arrived. Big outdoor area. There was live music and looks like you can bring outside food even though I saw a charcuterie truck. Tasting fee: white flight for $20, red flight for $25, and reserve flight for $30. You get to taste 5 wines and can revisit. We tried all the flights. You have to buy 2 bottles to waive. The wines were mostly fruity and smelled good. But nothing really stood out and everything was easy to drink. No tannins. Ann Marie helped pour our tastings. My sister reserved 2 tables in a fairly large space right in front of the stage under a large tree for my bridal shower. The staff was very accommodating by letting us bring our own food in and decorate our tables. All the wines were very good. Only been here once, but very nice atmosphere and great place to hang out. They had a food truck there for guests and live music. They have fancy portable bathrooms that are pretty clean and have the portable sinks. The wine was wonderful. I didn't really interact with the staff because we had reserved a time. There isn't that much parking and it can get kind of full, so I'd recommend calling prior so you don't have to deal with potentially getting turned away. read more

We went there Saturday, 8/24/24, with the Morgan Hill Wine Trolly. It was our first stop of the day so everyone was excited to get started. We didn't get to pick our wines, and unfortunately, they were pouring Rose and Chardonnay, literally the only varietals my husband and I don't drink. We didn't want to be a pain, but we also didn't want to spend money for wine we wouldn't drink. We asked if it would be alright to switch out our pours for literally any reds and the woman helping us was clearly very agitated, like she wanted us to know how difficult we were being. She even made a comment about it to the table when she came to pour our wines. After we did our tasting, someone from our group asked if she could have a taste of a wine before buying a bottle. The woman told her "I prefer not." Really? She should buy a bottle she hasn't even tried, when we are at the winery it comes from and there is more than likely a bottle already open of it? She didn't even try to say, "Let me know which one you'd like to try and I'll see if we have one open." Then when someone from the group said she wanted to buy a certain bottle, the woman told her "Just so you know, that bottle is $80." It came off insulting and the person in our group was offended. The view at the winery was beautiful, and the wine wasn't bad, but the service was exceptionally horrible. Would never go back or recommend it to others. read more

We came here last summer for a birthday and were pleasantly surprised! The seating area is very open, there's plenty of space if you have a large group, and the live band was great, very interactive with the audience. The team pouring drinks was fantastic, friendly, and accommodating. Prices are average for the area, parking is somewhat limited, and they do have porta-potties instead of real bathrooms still, but they are quite clean and well kept. The wine was excellent, we didn't have a single wine we disliked. Recommend trying them out if you haven't already! It's a great local spot! read more

If you enjoy going to wineries, I 've found a great one for you to check out. The name is Cottage Creek Vineyards in Morgan Hill. The owners of CCV, ( Denise and Sam ) are passionate about their winery business and it shows everywhere. Their attention to detail and customer satisfaction are far beyond normal. And their charming employees always make you feel welcomed and appreciated. I like that CCV offers a variety of seating options: There are numerous intimate spots for 2-3 people to chat and drink wine. Lots of round tables that can accommodate even more people. And beautiful large benches that can seat 8 people. All the sitting areas are protected from the sun. The ambience is stunning and everything is meticulously clean and well kept. On certain Fridays of the month, from 5:00 to 8:00pm, there usually is "live" music entertainment...and sometimes on weekends. I also love that there is lots of dancing floor space. Cottage Creek Vineyards has great wines and a variety of membership packages which offers significant discounts for members. Like I said, check them out.
