This is the second time we were here and it has not changes. Of course, when it is great, how can it get better. The biscuits and sausage gravy were home made and tasty, along with the eggs and sausage links. My wife's eggs, bacon (crispy), toast and hash browns all cooked to order. Nice restaurant here in Lady Lake Florida. Stopped in for breakfast for lunch today on a Saturday. The Menu says breakfast served till 11:00 AM but the waitress said breakfast is all day. The Cottage Inn does a good job with basic breakfast items. Their food is served hot and the staff is quick on their feet. They are a busy restaurant and skilled at keeping up. On my last visit I ordered French toast with sausage and eggs. The French toast was firm with a soft center. It has a nice balance of vanilla and cinnamon without the taste of egg ....which I appreciated. read more

This is a mom and pop country restaurant. You get greeted as you come in with "Welcome! Have a seat wherever you like." Before you hardly get seated they are waiting to get your drink and give you a menu. Servers serve all tables and tips are shared equally. Only open until 2 pm. Breakfast specials listed on the board by service window. Breakfast ends at 11 am and then lunch again with specials listed on the board. Breakfast all day Saturday and Sunday. It's a small unassuming restaurant in a strip shopping center. I got the impression that there were mostly "regulars". I went there for breakfast but they don't serve breakfast after 11am A server dropped a creamer on the floor then picked it up & put it back with the others to be served to an unsuspecting diner. The coffee was very disappointing, more like dishwater.  I feel the coffee is over-priced at $3.15. Had to ask for a straw & extra napkins The utensils were filthy. They really need to invest in a new dish washer. My server was friendly & knowledgeable. I ordered a burger, my server didn't ask me how I wanted it cooked... She offered a coffee refill as I was getting up to leave. No desserts, odd.... read more

My friends from church and I dine at the Cottage Inn every Sunday after church. I also stop in on the way to local radio station WQBQ AM1410/FM95.1 on weekdays between *1300-1400hrs. I consider this one of the "hidden gems" of restaurants around The Villages. The full parking lot and outside appearance gives the impression of the restaurant being very small. Inside there is very ample seating in a clean, simply decorated dining area. I also appreciated the good spacing between tables. The service folks were quick, efficient and friendly. I was surprised at how quickly we received our food. If you enjoy a local, down home restaurant, this is your place. I enjoyed a breakfast of two eggs, two pancakes and two sausage patties; all perfectly cooked for $9.95....... Coffee refills were offered as soon as my cup dropped near the half full mark. My only negative, you have to go up to the cash register to pay. I prefer to pay at the table. Really a matter of preference. I plan to return and try their lunch soon! read more

With the possible exception of Cracker Barrel give me a hole in the wall place for breakfast anytime. The Mrs and I met some friends here for breakfast and it's a nice little joint. The service is friendly enough and the food comes out quickly. I did ding them a couple of stars. They lost one star because it's quality while acceptable is not in the five star hole in the wall category, they lost another star because they're so damn cheap about stuff. I ordered the chicken fried steak, eggs, grits, and a biscuit for $8 a fair enough price. But there wasn't enough gravy to cover the entire steak, when I asked for some more they said they would have to charge me. What? But my steak wasn't completely covered even when I spread it out. Now clearly restaurants have to watch their cost but I was short changed on gravy and no southern gentleman will stand for such a thing. Overall the food was hot and tasty so I'll eat there again but how about a little more gravy next time guys. read more

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel when we asked for a place where the locals go for brunch. It was very conveniently located near our hotel also so that was a plus. We were greeted right away and directed to our table. I couldn't help to notice all of the pretty fall decorations everywhere. Our very friendly server Michelle, took our order and the food was promptly served. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back when we are in the area. read more

Tried out this quaint restaurant for breakfast today. It was a hit with both of us. My friend had eggs over, hash browns and ham w/toast. I had scrambled eggs, 3 bacon and 2 pancakes. Ate here for first time. Waitstaff knew everyone that walked in and what they liked to eat. Over medium eggs were perfect as well as the French toast. Chicken fried steak was a bit salty, but sausage gravy was just right. Can't wait to try some of the lunch items. Hash browns were not greasy or salty. Coffee was also above average. read more

What began as a somewhat successful mom/pop operation for many years ended in late 2007 when the NEW ASIAN owners took over. Simple table fare with meat n taters simplicity...The Old Owners had their own spin on the menu which lent a more "homey" taste...several item were made from scratch - including the absolutely delicious cornbread! Now, everything's about the CHEAPEST way it can be prepared, typical. Breakfasts remain somewhat busy and they should @ $1.49 for 2 eggs and toast. Whats hard to swallow, is the bitter coffee @$1.50...Restaurant-supplier toast slices, so tiny you have to look for them...Eggs tasted of rancid grease. Then the waitress tried to stiff me for $5 at the register. read more

Asked the server to take them back and have them done as requested and they said itll be another 15 minutes. Asked to talk to a manager and they said the owner was in the kitchen and never came out. Cottage inn, I do love this place. The food is great and the staff is so very friendly. I have had both breakfast and lunch and have not been disappointed. I am a fan of their taco salad, the taco salad they make tastes home made. I do love their taco salad and I would recommend trying it.
