Cute spot for ice cream, stopped by after brunch on a hot and humid day so it was perfect. They had a good selection of flavour and I got the mint chocolate and the banana pudding on a waffle cone. My only reason for taking off a star is that my expectation based on the outdoor appearance and location was that this would be a homestyle creamery with "fresh" ice cream. Instead it only offers 8 hard/scooped ice cream flavors (the same Ive seen at every similar type of ice cream shop) scooped out of tubs. You can also get shakes or add ins, but I was hoping for a different experience. If scooped ice cream is your thing, this place is for you. Their single scoop (about $4 with tax) is huge! My family ordered four scoops, but could have gotten by with two. We wasted nearly half of it. read more

I think they get most (if not all) of their product from Central Dairy. They've got some space inside with cable spool table tops. There is also a patio. Old Cottleville has developed a welcoming charm over the last 25 years because of places like this: A rehabbed and white-washed old house turned into a neighborhood ice cream shop. Emphasis on "neighborhood" because I wouldn't drive out of my way for the ice cream. Selection is limited to 10 flavors and some are revolving items. There's just nothing special about this place in terms of menu. Serves the same flavors and non-premium quality ice cream you can pick up at Walmart. Menu is limited (no sundaes, milkshakes, toppings, waffle cones, etc.) One review says generous amounts of ice cream but that was not our experience, just your standard scoop size. We were going to order outside at the window but no one came to take our order there so we had to put on masks and go into the tiny shop. They don't have their own parking lot, so you have to find street parking. read more

First, props for rehabbing the building, it has a lot of charm. I really wanted to like this more than I did. The flavored were fairly normal. I ordered vanilla and while the flavor was very good could not get past the graininess of it. If this was a QA problem, I hope they fix it. The exterior of the bldg and patio were super cute, but, everything else was just dumb. They had like eight basic flavors that were basically large batch prairie farms tubs, which was WAAAAAAAAY overpriced.
