The dressing room was a comfortable space.  The stylist was great. She was very nice and ambitious. She listened to my wants and looked through their large selection to deliver. Real life isn't always like the movies, so I tried not to get my hopes up too high or walk away disappointed. After trying on a few dresses, I remember telling my stylist, Allie, "I don't know if we're going to find it." She smiled, disappeared for a few minutes, and came back carrying the most beautiful gown. She looked at me and said, "I think this is the one for you." The moment she helped me into it, I did something I never thought I'd do... I cried. Allie looked at me and said, "I'm in awe of how good this looks on you," then pulled back the curtain. The staff there was incredibly kind and I had a good experience, but it was a more typical, shared bridal boutique setup where other brides and families could see dress reveals and hear each other's conversations. My belongings stayed on the floor of my changing area, and I got myself into each gown before the stylist came back in to get me fully fastened. I thought nothing of it because it was my first time wedding dress shopping and assumed that was just how it worked! Then we walked into Ladies of Lineage and I immediately realized how different the experience could be. The boutique itself makes you WOW at how beautiful it is! It feels elevated and luxurious while still being incredibly warm and welcoming. Elizabeth greeted my mom, sister, and me with champagne, then sat down with us to get to know me, my wedding, what I thought I wanted, and what we were comfortable spending. She gave us a tour of the gorgeous showroom and then pulled dresses for me based on everything we had discussed. We had our own beautiful glass-enclosed bridal suite with a couch for my mom and sister, a huge mirror, a curtained changing area, and even drawers for my clothes, shoes, purse, etc. Elizabeth personally helped me in AND out of every gown while my mom and sister got to relax with their champagne and wait for each exciting reveal. It felt so private and intimate, like those moments belonged to just the three of us. Elizabeth immediately made me feel comfortable and was SO easy to talk to. She was also the BEST hype girl ever!!! By the end I basically wanted her to be my new BFF and literally invited her to my wedding There were so many gorgeous dresses in the price range we discussed, and I really appreciated that Elizabeth respected it. She never pressured us to spend more or pulled dresses I couldn't realistically say yes to. The first dress was more in line with what I thought I wanted, but dress #2 was Elizabeth's wild card...and THAT became my wedding dress!!! I was immediately obsessed. I tried on one more just to be sure, but all I wanted was #2 back on, so I knew there was no reason to keep trying! Once I found THE dress, Elizabeth helped me create the entire look. She somehow pulled my hair into the most perfect bun in about 30 seconds, and I was so impressed I asked if she could do my wedding hair too When I asked about jewelry, she immediately found the perfect necklace and earrings, then helped me find my perfect veil. I bought the whole look!!! When I officially said YES, she celebrated right alongside us, took my "Down with the Gown" pictures, and had me sign the champagne cork. She made an already huge moment feel even more special! The care continued after my appointment too. Elizabeth mailed me the sweetest handwritten note welcoming me to the Ladies of Lineage family, and they later personally invited me to an exclusive event to meet Sassi Holford, the designer of my wedding gown, while she was visiting from London! I unfortunately couldn't attend, but being thought of and invited as one of their Sassi brides meant so much. I walked into Ladies of Lineage hoping to find my wedding dress and left having had the bridal experience I didn't even know existed. It was the first time I really felt like a BRIDE, and it's a memory my mom, sister, and I will always have together! I arrived at the location and she looked at me like I was crazy and asked that I leave. She claimed we never set an appointment and that she hasn't looked through the boxes yet to see if my dress arrived. She told me she'd call me back by EOD to set a new time. She did the same runaround - never called, never texted. I had to try again for weeks to get ahold of her. Finally, we talked and set a new date to pickup my dress. The day comes around and she said she couldn't get a flight back to Charlotte and was back home in Nashville. We set a new date - yet again - and she stands me up AGAIN. Claims her "store was broken into and she was too emotional to stay and needed to reschedule." Her store is on the second floor with a locked elevator bank?? Now it has been 3 different times she has stood me up. We scheduled yet another appointment and she - AGAIN - stands me up saying she got into a car accident. A few days later she drops off my dress to my alterations store with a promise to refund me (unfortunately, I paid in cash). I have followed up with her for the refund since July and still nothing. Every time I text her she gives me yet another lie as to why she can't refund me just yet (paypal is down, her credit machine isn't working, etc.). This is the most horrible store and person on earth. Buying your dress is supposed to be one of the best experiences while wedding planning and she made it the most stressful.

When we arrived, we were told her "street size" was off and that her bridal size was 2 or more sizes up, so we had to go next door to haute & co. We were told we showed up late and the sales specialist was frustrated because we weren't going to get the "full experience" I went back and checked the chat and we weren't late. We scheduled for 11:30 and she said we were scheduled for 11. She told us to "please keep in mind that she has a 12:30 back *here*" (here was the skinny side). Luckily the bride is really low maintenance and didn't fuss but, all told it was laughable. If you want to make people feel special and included: make the experience the same. We have been laughing about how bad the experience was compared to our second location since we left. Emphasizing how low maintenance the bride is, the second location was where we found the dress after about 2.5 hours total including both spots. It was perfect, flattering, and in the same place as the skinny bride dresses.

Before we knew there was a NC location we were considering flying to Chicago. Boy am I glad we didn't. First in let me say my stylist was the sweetest "little" girl. She did her best with what she had. She was kind polite had pulled some dresses for me to try. And gave suggestions on how we could alter each dress to fit my style. And She brought us mimosas (best part of day) and offered snacks. Now let's go threw the nitty gritty. The decor is very industrial. Cement floors pipes for racks. Dark color scheme. Felt very odd. They did have a few dressing rooms each with a "viewing" area where your friends can sit and see the dresses. The changing room itself felt a little like wal Mart or old navy. It's just a little Partition of room with a pipe to use for a rack. So all your dresses are crammed on this pipe and you can't really look at the dress if you have more then one. There was a little night stand type drawer in the corner that had the clips and things and a small area on top to put my bag I brought with my under garments. Everything else had to sit on the floor. No chair in changing room. We were greeted by our stylist with a nice shy smile. I'm not sure if she was new or just shy. But she was trying you could tell. I personally was expecting stylist to be more my shape since it was a plus size shop. My stylist was a cute little looks like she could walk a runway lady. Made me personally feel self conscious and shyer. The entire time I felt like I was waiting for the ice to break were everyone would just relax and have fun. Unfortunately that's not how it ever felt. It was that awkward meeting someone for the first time feeling that usually last like 5 mins or so, for the 45 mins to an hour we were there. Again our stylist was very sweet and polite and did well with what she had. But how can a size 00 relate to a Plus size 28 when trying on dresses. Us bigger ladies have different struggles. Now the selection: Boy was I shocked! I thought being a specialty boutique there was going to be rows and rows of different designs and shapes. Nope! There was a row of dresses along the back wall behind some dressing rooms down the side wall and back up the back wall to create a U and that was it! For a boutique that's is boasting and making a name for itself to be for plus size brides to give them a selection they had none and it was very disappointing. I tried on maybe 6 dresses total all very busy poofy and fashionable but not at all what I had described during my consultation on the phone or like the pictures I showed when I arrived. I do feel they pulled the closest they had but the selection just wasn't there to find my style. So overall I gave 2 stars. I would do one but it's not the young lady's fault she doesn't have much to work with. She was sweet and tried her best. But you van only work with what you have. Which isn't a lot.
