    Sunshine State RVs

    (24 reviews)

This review is long overdue…read more Last July, I bought a Coachmen Nova 20C from Sunshine State RVs. I live in California, so buying an RV from a dealer across the country was a pretty big decision. Before buying, I spent months researching Class B vans. During that time, I found Sunshine State RVs' YouTube channel, and honestly, it became one of my favorite resources. Their videos are informative, well-produced, and show the RVs in a way that really helped me narrow down what I wanted. Those videos played a big part in my decision to buy the Nova 20C. Once I knew which model I wanted, I started shopping around for the best price. After comparing dealers, pricing, and reviews, Sunshine State RVs came out on top. I worked with Austin throughout the buying process, and he was great. He answered every question I had, worked with me on pricing and financing, and never made me feel pressured. Buying my first RV was a little intimidating, but he made the whole process easy. I decided to fly to Florida instead of having the RV shipped because I wanted the in-person walkthrough. Sunshine State RVs even picked my daughters and me up at the airport and brought us to the dealership. When we arrived, the owner, Nick, came over to introduce himself. He immediately let me know about a cosmetic issue that had happened during transport from the Coachmen factory. A tire had been placed inside the RV during shipping and left a stain on part of the flooring. They had already tried everything they could to remove it, but it wouldn't come out completely. What impressed me was that nobody tried to hide it. Nick explained exactly what happened, apologized, and gave me a few options. Everything else on the RV was exactly as expected. Then Corey patiently walked me through every part of the coach. After watching so many of their YouTube videos, I was looking forward to the walkthrough, and it didn't disappoint. He explained everything clearly and answered every question I had. Even after I got home to California, I reached out to him a few times when I couldn't figure something out, and he always got back to me quickly. That kind of support after the sale means a lot. The paperwork and financing were straightforward, and afterward my daughters and I spent a couple of days at a nearby RV park learning the RV before driving it all the way back to California. I thought that was the end of the story, but it wasn't. Sunshine State RVs contacted Coachmen about the flooring issue, and not long after, I received a phone call from Nick, the General Manager of Coachmen Class B. He apologized for what happened and told me they wanted to make it right. Their solution honestly surprised me. They arranged to have my RV picked up from my home in California, transported back to the factory in Indiana, the entire floor replaced, and then shipped back to me. They worked around my schedule and handled everything. Special thanks to Paul at Coachmen for coordinating all the logistics. When I got the RV back, the floor looked brand new. You'd never know there had ever been an issue. I've owned the RV for about a year now, and looking back, I'm just as happy with my decision as I was the day I bought it. Sunshine State RVs earned my business with their pricing, but they earned my respect with their customer service. Austin, Corey, Nick, and everyone else I interacted with treated me incredibly well. Coachmen (Nick and Paul) also deserves a lot of credit for standing behind their product and making things right. Buying an RV is a major purchase, and it's nice knowing there are still companies that genuinely care about their customers after the paperwork is signed. If you're considering buying from Sunshine State RVs, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

They are taking pictures…read morewith trophies they received, I'm pretty sure they must have had them made and flaunting them like they did something so great. READ THE REVIEWS!! All the YouTube videos are lies, promises, nothing Nick says is actually true! These people are scammers! And don't expect a call back, they call back 1 time out of 10 calls. We were taken by Nick and his fake acting role on selling these broken Vans. Nick Schmidt is the general manager and he obviously has no control or knows how to run this business! Missing items inside the Van, scraped and rusted hitch with smashed plug, unusable, I'm guessing from transport. We let them know with no return call or resolve to how we received it. And what really pissed us off is we ordered a roof rack and they didn't install it and blamed the factory as well as we ordered and paid for a generation 3 Starlink and we got a generation 2!! Don't buy a van from them, you will regret it!!

In 2023, when I was in the market for a bigger unit, Horizon had a 2018 - 28 ft. Coachman Apex. I was happy with the deal we agreed on. Since last summer I have been back twice for various repairs. I try to save up repair requests so as to make one trip. This last visit saw the repair of a window crank, awning arm adjustment, oven repair, leaky skylight in the shower, electric cord repair, and installation on outdoor light. AJ and Curtis are the service managers, and Jason Carter was the technician that worked on my unit. He did a splendid job on all fronts and didn't even complain when I sat and watched for about an hour. When he was done, they helped me hook up so I could take it home. Let me tell you that AVID sticks to their word. The owner's daughter works at this location, and she went above and beyond to keep in constant contact with me to let me know every step of my boat. I had zero worries that my boat was in the best hands. Today I got my boat back after a few months - and this company along with AVID delivered 10X the hull I originally paid for. I can't thank them enough, sing praises loud enough, or give enough stars! WOW! No other boat manufacturer will ever go this distance~ overall GREAT EXPERIENCE! you should join the Avid family!

Customer service is the worst!! Michelle, the owner's daughter, is beyond rude and never returns calls. We were promised a Coast guard kit at the time of purchase - that didn't happen. We had to pay extra for a swim platform and ladder (we were told it would be a 3 rung, but it was a 2 rung). After it was installed and I asked about it, we we told they would switch it out for an additional $100, but not be charged any labor. Nice huh? The console door was broke and they did repair it, but forgot to but the trim back on and screwed the latch on wrong so it wouldn't fully latch correctly. Oh, and they forgot to register the warranty on the engine and process and mail my boat registration and title - both things I had to call and ask them to do. I can't even take my own boat out because the 30 days is up and I have no title. Thanks LTD Motors, You've been great!

She asked us some questions about budget and credit. We misunderstood one of the questions she asked and had to correct an answer. This all seemed a bit invasive, but not weird. But, I guess she thought like we looked like we didn't have the money to buy this camper (even though we said our budget was fairly unlimited) and kept trying to tell us (weirdly) that she didn't want us to fall in love with a camper we couldn't afford. She kept insisting that it's harder to qualify for a loan for a camper than a car and she didn't want us to be disappointed. Then when we insisted again that we were good and would not be dependent on their financing... she went and got the sales manager, Victoria, who did the same thing. I kept saying how weird this was, and that we just wanted to look at a range of campers that fit our preferences, she told us that we were the ones that made it weird. Needless to say, we left, disappointed at how we were treated.

However, I must give this Camping World location a solid five-star rating based on my experience with them earlier this month. I began having issues with the 12-volt battery on our RV and knew it needed to be replaced. We were traveling South on Interstate 75 and near our destination for the night with a few hours before check-in time. Since Camping World had easy access and parking at the Lake Park, GA exit, I decided to stop and check on a new battery. Not expecting much, I was surprised when I walked in and was greeted at the door and then again at the service counter. The gentleman who assisted me knew what he was doing and was very helpful. He walked out to the parking lot, verified the type and size of battery I needed, and even offered to loan me tools to replace it. He brought the new battery out in a shopping cart to my RV and told me to return once I had it installed to bring the old battery in to avoid the Core charge. When I checked out, he noticed my Good Sam Membership was due to expire soon and offered to add it to my order. I checked out and we were in and out in very quick order. I wish all Camping World locations had this level of customer service.

Sold them a trailer that they can't tow with their vehicle and then continued to lie about it. Sure.....the truck would TECHNICALLY tow it, but the pin weight dry was already overweight for the truck without any equipment, occupants, or fuel and water. This renders the vehicle absolutely overweight for the truck. This means if there is any sort of accident(Whether they hit, or are hit), they will automatically be liable and the insurance will not pay the claim. Once the concern was brought up, they said sorry about your luck. They also scammed them on the price and will not provide any signed paperwork. So....if you do business with salesmen like Ray that take advantage of elderly people, shame on you. A lawyer is going to have a field day with this one.

After months of delays, the RV was finally returned, but we discovered the entry door window was broken. I contacted the store, and they said they'd call me back to discuss solutions. Three weeks passed with no response, despite my follow-up calls, and it felt like they were avoiding the issue. Eventually, Angela informed me they wouldn't pick up the RV to fix the window but would order a replacement part, leaving me to handle the installation. This was on May 6. On July 10, I got a message saying Jenna had ordered the window, but she was out that day and would provide an ETA later. I still haven't heard back. I'm at my wit's end. I paid for delivery and shouldn't be responsible for fixing their mistake, yet I agreed to move forward just to resolve it. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and progress is unacceptable. I'm still waiting for the part to do the repair myself.
