People online keep complaining about how the Casino Rama buffet now sucks & is bad value & they'll never go back, but all things considered, this casino buffet is still good (distance for most patrons aside). Of course, you can see that even during dinner, not all the counter space is filled, so definitely they've scaled down from their glory days, but not many casinos nearish the GTA are doing buffets now & among the 3 I've tried this is the best (especially if you go when it's BOGO). Depending on the day, there's roast beef, roast turkey, shrimp & perch - even for lunch. Most dishes were decent, though the Southern Fried Chicken was a bit dry & lacking umami punch & the Brussels Sprouts were overcooked. There's make your own poutine and nachos. The medium rare roast beef was good or really good (get it freshly sliced). Fried perch & canneloni were excellent too. Dinner is $10 more but the one time I went for it we only got the addition of a few mediocre Chinese dishes & pre-peeled cooked shrimp (woo hoo!) Indeed there was one less soup & one less soft serve flavour compared to the two times I'd visited for lunch. The desserts are above average, with up to 4 types of soft serve! Vegan vanilla was really good: richer, creamier & more flavourful even than other places' dairy versions. Apple sorbet was excellent too, with a great apple taste. read more

Located inside Casino Rama, I don't think there is ever a time Couchiching Court isn't busy. They offer an all-you-can-eat buffet of many different cuisines, including Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, and more. There's something here for everyone. Although we had reservations, there was still a long line to get in, and a separate line for walk-ins. Surprisingly, as busy as they are, they close at 9:00pm most nights, and 10:00pm on Fridays. Other restaurants on site are open later. Regardless of how many choices are available, I just can't seem to resist starting with soup and a salad bar. Is that healthy or not? My choices here were simple - Hot and Sour Soup with a Wonton thrown in, and Caesar salad with a few extra items on the plate. The sushi looked trampled and picked-through so that was a pass. Too bad. The soup and salad were decent. Not much you could do to mess that up. Choosing my main courses was more challenging, with so many choices. I eat Asian food all the time at really good restaurants in the GTA so I chose not to go that route. I ended up with freshly carved prime rib (medium rare), smoked brisket, fried chicken, gnocchi, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and corn on the cob. These were all very good choices! The prime rib was tender and juicy, even without jus or gravy. The brisket was equally tender and moist with a nice smoky flavour. The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Very good. The sides were all tasty as well. It was hard to resist going back for more but I was already feeling stuffed. My dining companions were raving about the bread pudding so I figured I had to squeeze in a piece, topped with soft-serve ice cream. It was quite good. The service was friendly and efficient. It has to be to turn over all those tables for the people waiting to get in. I was stuffed and done. Roll me out now. Dining was for two. When you enter there is a bit of line up but it moves fast. The food has great presentation. If you had to compare with other buffet experiences I would say it's like Tuckers Marketplace with food with less salt (yay!). We did lunch for two and we had players cards so we had vouchers for two can dine. The voucher does not include tip so unless you instruct at the front til you're going to have to tip cash on the table. All meals are prepaid and the payment includes non alcoholic drinks. The roast beef had different cooks-medium rare, rare, well done. There's comfort food butternut squash , mash potato. I found the fish with tomato sauce overcooked and mussels were tiny from overcook. There was a fajita station -unfortunately couldn't try. The indian curries, the cold mussles and shrimp. Chinese options were canadianized Chinese food. Dessert was an abundance of from frozen cheese cake and cakes. There were also pies. There were donuts and some fresh serve batched stuff. My favourite was the soft serve ice cream there was a peach sorbet that was quite delicious though artificial flavour, and your chocolate and vanilla similar to Wendy's frosty. The service was great always being attended. Coffee is a machine variety like Nescafe but i think its branded folgers. It's very aromatic and full body. I could keep going with the coffee but ate way too much roast beef. The food is a mini tuckers marketplace, but with the beef roast served at lunch it's still quite nice. Despite the poorly cooked food it was select dishes and it is a buffet so large batches will be overcooked - this can be expected. I had to rate 4 rather than 3 because you can't complain on free. It pays to be a casino rama player. *** just an update. I went again using my three vouchers for being a Player. The pork shoulder and the roast beef rare are very nice. Salt is manageable, tender. Mussels are overcooked. Fish is overcooked. Liver is a tad bit dry. Dessert selection is great. Diabetic cake is different and delicious. Apple sorbet taste like having jolly ranch in an ice cream treat. I'll continue to play and eat in the future! read more

I really don't know why I keep coming back, between me and everyone I go with getting sick immediately between the cold food , dried food , hard food. Very gross, finally they just started heating the food to serving temp it never use to be like that. Also love flies on my donuts .. read more

Absolutely horrible! $43.00 a plate and better food at McD's. called for a manager and got a comp meal even so, it was awful. You could tell all the food was left over from lunch, many empty spots and dessert was only cake. No fruit, pies or pudding. Very very sad. I guess if it were free or deeply discounted it would be okay. No roast beef or steak the closest thing was the chilli. Nothing to write home about. Pasta was unrecognizable, vegetables tasteless. Was fun to watch the peas boil in the serving tray and guess why the cheese sauce was so thick the spoon stood straight up in it. Perogies were a surprise. Appeared freezer burnt so you could eat about half of it. . People certainly were eating my guess is you get what you can then get back to the slots. . Okay so had to add to this. I found the roast beef, I think it may have been a thick flank steak disguised as roast beef. Dry and very salty. Mac n cheese came out as well. . Great Prime Rib. It is so tender you can cut it with a fork. This past weekend was a bonus as they were serving smoked turkey and all the fixings of a Thanksgiving meal. Plenty of variety at the dessert bar as well. I have been two times now and will most definitely be back. read more

Not as good as the buffets at some others casinos. Roast meat was good and desserts were decent (though clearly made off premises). The rest was really low quality. I have to also add that while the food did not bother my digestion, it produced a really foul smelling bowel movement the next day - not sure what garbage was in it. read more
