Nothing like your toddler melting down because they want a juice and you can't find a way to pay for it. I love the baby animals and all the kids activities but until they figure out how to properly run this place I probably won't come back.

It included your choice of everything the House Dinner offered (NY Strip, Salmon, Shrimp or Crab Cakes and buffet) plus a Fillet Mignon, 2 premium drinks that cover any wine, beer, or wine slushie. We ordered the Fillet Mignon and it was a beautiful cut of meat!! It just melted in your mouth. You can look online at their menu options! We were so full. The buffet was fantastic, their baked potatoes were amazing! And they had live music from a country group Hearts on Fire. We had an absolute ball. Reservations are taken between 5:00-7:30 pm. Let them know if the size of your party changes because they prepare food fresh based on the reservation size. (They also offer private dinners outside of the normal cookout hours if you want a private event) They also have food you can order from the kitchen like cheese boards, Bavarian pretzels, chips and salsa, nachos and cheese, Caprese Platter, Valley Potato Chicken Boats and more! This place is under new ownership and they said to come back again this spring to see all the new things they're doing! The staff treats you like family and you can tell they've been making people happy for a long time. We took home a bottle of Raspberry Wine and Bourbon Barrel Aged Mead!! They also have craft beer!

It had an 1800's charm to it that made it feel like I was visiting a historical site rather than a leaving, breathing, working town. According to their website, people started settling there as early as 1790 and Ohio's oldest weekly newspaper, the Western Star was started there. The oldest hotel in Ohio opened in 1803, The Golden Lamb, is also located there and had been visited by 12 presidents. Two movies (Harper Valley and Milk Money) were filmed here! Actor Woody Harrelson also grew up here! For a small town, they had quite a bit going on for a Sunday. Shops were open and restaurants were busy. People were definitely friendly and my dad remarked at how clean the town was! We didn't see a drop of litter. We're already planning a trip back in the fall to take part in some pumpkin picking and dinner at the Golden Lamb.

Before a show, you can check out any of the restaurants in the area and walk to the theater. Go get dinner at the Golden Lamb or ice cream at one of the cute shops in town. All are within walking distance from the theater. There is a parking lot to the right side of the building, as well as additional parking across the street from the theater. Check out their website for upcoming shows. It would be smart to buy those tickets in advance, but you might be able to walk up the night of the show to purchase a ticket. It just depends on the show and what evening. Great theater in the heart of Lebanon!

It is a beautiful farm and a perfect holiday errand as the Christmas season arrives. You're able to bring your dog along, as well, which is always a fun perk! They also have a section where you can pet and feed the goats on the farm. The Christmas Trees here are so beautiful! We had so many to choose from. Once we selected one, a worker was able to help us check-out and get us situated for our car to pick the tree up. You take the tag from the tree and pay for it inside the barn/gift shop. The gift shop has wreaths, ornaments, nativity scene figures, stockings, and pretty much anything else you can think of in terms of Christmas decor. We found a new tree topper during our visit too, which was on our agenda. Every employee we encountered was so kind and friendly! There are selections of fudge, locally made kettle corn, and other snacks available, along with complimentary hot chocolate. Our tree was around $100, which I think is more than real trees offered at super markets, however the experience of the farm and quality of the tree make it an incredible value. Big Tree Plantation holds such a special place in my heart!

Unfortunately it has gone downhill the past few years and the trees are now sparse and dying. We went to get a tree today and all the trees in the field were brown or not very full, so we ended up getting a pre-cut tree from the tree barn. Part of the fun is cutting it down yourself so this was a bummer. They do have other things- a barn with gifts and decor, snacks and free hot chocolate. They also have some goats you can pet and feed. These are nice but unfortunately they have gone down hill in their main thing - Christmas trees. Next year we will go elsewhere for a tree. Bummer because my family knew the old owners and it use to be so great!
