Went last night to Valley Vineyards to celebrate with the hubby 14 years of a happy marriage. If you haven't been here yet you gotta go. Hubby reserved us a table for their cookout. Hubby and I ordered the Vintner Dinner. It included your choice of everything the House Dinner offered (NY Strip, Salmon, Shrimp or Crab Cakes and buffet) plus a Fillet Mignon, 2 premium drinks that cover any wine, beer, or wine slushie. We ordered the Fillet Mignon and it was a beautiful cut of meat!! It just melted in your mouth. You can look online at their menu options! We were so full. The buffet was fantastic, their baked potatoes were amazing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]And they had live music from a country group Hearts on Fire.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had an absolute ball. Reservations are taken between 5:00-7:30 pm. Let them know if the size of your party changes because they prepare food fresh based on the reservation size. (They also offer private dinners outside of the normal cookout hours if you want a private event) They also have food you can order from the kitchen like cheese boards, Bavarian pretzels, chips and salsa, nachos and cheese, Caprese Platter, Valley Potato Chicken Boats and more! We have driven past this place for years and always tempted to stop. Sorry to say we didn't love it. Let me say, we aren't drinkers so this is a food rating only. Their beer and wine may be amazing. We got burgers and pretzels. To me it was lazy food. The cheese for the pretzel was clearly from a can. Chips for the burgers were from a bag. The burger was nothing to write home about. Just meat on a bun. No real flavor. For $50+ I had much higher expectations. We had Bob Evan's the other day for under $30 and it was hands down a better meal. read more

Went to visit family in Ohio, and they recommended we visit Valley Vineyards for some food, wine, and beer. One thing I liked a lot about Valley Vineyards was that it's also a brewery! The meat was good, and the sides were buffet style. I recommend the Valley Red Blend and Rose for the wines, and for the beer, I enjoyed the West Coast IPA. I came here on a weekend when they had a grill out special. This was limited space and reservations are recommended. The meal was a flat rate and can't with two drink tickets, your choice or meat, and unlimited sides. You get to grill your own entree and the sides are prepared buffet style. Dessert included! My sister and I visited Valley Vineyards a few weeks ago for a wine tasting. We did not want to purchase a flight; just tastes in order to determine which wine(s) we would like to drink/purchase. I began with the Chardonay and Sauvignon Blanc, and then asked for a taste of the Rose or Vidal which I left up to our server to make the selection. He happily poured the Vidal and informed me this would be my last tasting. He said that he can't just keep giving me tastings. I was caught off guard and a bit embarrassed for there was a couple standing next to us. I am well aware of the Ohio law as it relates to wine tasting and was expecting to be charged for my tastings. I was not there to get my fill of wine then leave. Unfortunately, we each ordered a beverage (me a beer and my sister a glass of wine which she was not asked which size she wanted, and of course, was poured the larger more expensive size). We were not happy with the snide remarks the server made; therefore, we left without purchasing any wine. I hope he doesn't treat all customers this way. We will not be back and will not recommend Valley Vineyards to our friends. read more

I have visited Valley Vineyards multiple times and every time have a pleasant experience. The location itself is exactly what you picture if you imagine a quaint little vineyard North of Cincinnati. There is TONS of outdoor seating as well as a full restaurant space inside. We always opt for the Adirondack chairs outside when we are here. They make many different wines (however even their dry wine is a little sweet) and now have multiple beers they brew as well. There is a kitchen with light-bites as well as some pizzas and other heartier meals. Upon my last visit I ordered the Dry White wine flight and an order of the Pretzel to share - the wine, as stated, was a little sweet for being dry, but still overall tasty. My significant other ordered their Red Ale which he said was really tasty. The staff is always extremely friendly and love to talk about their wines/beers. I've seen live music as well as their cook it your self big feasts with steak/chicken/lobster/etc. - something we have always wanted to try as it looks so fun! read more

This is a cute little winery! They've got a small shop when you walk in, with some wine accessories, wine, beer and other items. The staff is nice, and the pours are generous. We got a taster set and it was Only $10! I'm not much of a sweet wine drinker but my boyfriend only likes it sweet, so we got the semi sweet to dry option. The sweet wines were a bit too much for me except a few of them. The concord tastes just like grape juice! We tasted some that needed work, but overall it was an enjoyable experience. We ate before we got there, but noticed some other guests ordering food and it all looked good! We are going to go again to try some of their food and for me to try some more dry wines. Listen Yelpers. If for nothing else, get yourself to this place for a heavenly, hypnotic freaking glass of their WARMED Honey Mead Wine. Swear to goodness, I need nothing else but that and a fluffy blanket until the Spring! Lol. Their steaks are also pretty dang good as well. My husband and I recently discovered Valley Vineyards while out for a date night. We each enjoyed a wine flight, followed by the Weekend Grillout for dinner. But let's start with the wine. My husband is a dry wine drinker, while I prefer the semi-sweet to sweet wines. Valley Vineyards has flights to suit every taste. My favorite wine on the sweet side was the Raspberry, but I also got to taste the Blackberry Champagne. While I am not a champagne person in the least, I LOVED it! Now, onto dinner. I ordered the salmon and my husband had the strip steak. Both were excellent. The meal came with a buffet that included fresh salad, green beans, mixed veggies, rice pilaf, baked potato, and a roll. For an ending, you have the choice of Red Velvet cake, Pecan Pje, or Chocolate Mouse pie. Everything we ate was yummy, and the dessert was fabulous. And did I mention the live music outside? We were fortunate to visit on a Friday night when a musician was performing outside, and he was great! In addition to the fabulous wine and food, the staff deserves a shout-out too. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Perfect for date night or hanging out with friends! We made dinner reservations for four. You pick your meat and grill your own food, which is scary when it's four ladies who've never grilled a steak before. The grill is outside on the pavement right by the entrance. It was HOT and my steak overdone (I blame the cook). It's a buffet style where you dish out your own sides. The sides were good, not great. I love going to wineries, and fortunately this was open on the Monday we visited Cincinnati, most of them are only open from Thursday through Sunday. When we went in here the staff was helping the people so we went and look around their wines, then we got help and she explained that they have been open everyday since they opened and they just opened everyday since then. The staff was very helpful, we wanted a tasting of their sweet wines to share because my boyfriend was driving, my friend got a dry wine tasting and he got a bonus one because the staff put in her favorite on his as well. we all love their wines, sweet and dry. The cheese plate was not the greatest especially portion size and selection was busy felt as if not enough engagement from staff I'm really big on being personable, didn't get that vibe on our visit. If you have not been to Valley Vineyard Winery, you need to!!! I've been to a couple wineries in the Cincinnati area and this one by far is my favorite!! Valley Vineyard has been in business since 1970 and I had the pleasure to meet Joe Schuchter. He was so friendly, had a great sense of humor and VERY knowledgeable on their wines. My friend and I did the dry wine sampler for $10.00 which you get to try 9 wines. Here is what I tried: -Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Tantalize your senses with Valley Vineyards' finest. Deep, complex Cabernet with soft aromas of chocolate. Essences of black cherry and currants... -Select Dry Mead This limited release Honey Mead Wine is light, refreshing and crisp with hints of fresh honey on the finish. Is a great accompaniment to an elegant... -Traminette This wine has classic spicy aromatics with peach, apricot, and floral white rose bouquet. T -Syrah Hints of smoky vanilla from oak barrel aging weave through the openly fruity aromas and smooth, lingering finish. -Cabernet Sauvignon Juicy layers of black currant, black cherry, violet and cocoa, with soft oak nuances from barrel aging. -Cabernet Franc The wine opens with concentrated aromas of cherry and black currant, layered with vibrant spice notes of nutmeg, anise and cinnamon. -Hillside Red An easy drinking red wine, traditionally blended from select grapes. Aging in small oak barrels enhances the bouquet of strawberry and red cherry. -Cabernet Franc Rosé This rosé emphasizes black cherry, red raspberry and hints of fresh citrus. It ends with a cool, crisp finish. -Chardonnay Chardonnay This Chardonnay emphasizes citrus, melon and tropical fruit character. Long, cool fermentation is experienced in the cool, crisp finish. My favorites was the Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Hillside Red and the Cabernet Franc Rose. Since it's so hard for me to find a good Rose', I had to get two bottles of the Cabernet Franc Rose'. It's that good!!! At the end of our tasting, my friend and took a self guided tour of their cellar and explored. It was really cool to see the barrels and equipments they use to make their wines. This is my third time coming to Valley Vineyards and every time I've been here it's been an awesome experience. This visit was very special because we chatted and had great conversations with Joe and alot more on their wines. I know I left with a huge smile on my face! My friend and I plan on returning and having dinner. They do weekend cookouts (they have an outdoor grill) with your choice of salmon, steak or chicken. I can't wait!! FYI, you must reserve a spot. Besides the wine, they also brew their own beer. When I return, I will definately have to try that. I can write and rave more about this place, but you just have to come here and experience this awesome winery yourself! It's that good!! My wife and I gave this to my mom as a birthday present a couple weeks earlier and then got together to enjoy dinner. The two reasons I chose Valley Vineyards was because I assumed we would be seated outdoors (due to COVID) and my parents enjoy their wine. We got on-site and everything was a bit haphazard as far as where to go, check-in, etc. The place was very busy and there weren't helpful directions or signs. We checked in, got our tickets, and found our seats. They were indoors, but they were placed with space, certainly more than 6 feet. From there, safety precautions went downhill. They had curtains up and a few other things to be helpful, but aside from two people bussing tables (and only using them about 50% of the time), no one else on staff was wearing a mask! I was absolutely stunned. I've taken a full star off on my rating for that alone. The food was pretty meh, but the wine was pretty good. Overall, I was a bit disappointed in the experience. Non-COVID or if they FULLY cared, I'd probably have them around a 3.5, nothing more. read more

My wife and I met friends again at Valley Vineyards for the outdoor grilling dinner last night. The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly by each of us! LOL The owners and staff could not be nicer. I love the Bourbon Meade here, so I wish I had known prior to paying that an upgrade to the protein also included an upgrade to premium wines. Bummer. The draw back to the evening was that the large dining room was very busy and almost full. The sound level in this room is really unacceptable for a dinner of this price. Something has to be done about the noise as it is hard to hold conversations, even when raising voices. With the plaster ceiling, brick walls, many windows and the concrete floor, sound attenuation improvements in the large dining room is an absolute must. read more

We have been visiting/enjoying the old Valley Vineyard for over 30 years. New management? Understand you need to make some changes but (?). No more pizza salad (now large chunks of just lettuce), no more Texas toast (little store bought rolls -yuck). The stakes are definitely smaller and not trimmed as well, green beans are just boiled without seasoning, baked potatoes are over baked/dried out , deserts were always homemade - now seem to be prepackaged and plated up way too early as they are dried out by the time you eat them.
