I had an "heirloom print" from my grandfather's farmhouse. It was a circular image in a 20"x28"…read moreframe. The original Matt was there, but water damaged. THEY HAD THE ORIGINAL TO USE AS A TEMPLATE. But Michael does not cut Matt's, they send them to a place in Texas. I chose the expedited shipping. After 12 days with no word, I went BACK to Michael's where Miguel said he couldn't figure out what had happened to the order, but he would BE HAPPY TO REORDER IT FOR ME. Did so, and a week later I went back. The pictures tell the story. You can see the print and the original Matt, and you can ALSO see what they delivered....a 24"x32" matt with a WAY TOO BIG OVAL (not circular) opening. The Manager (Ernest?) got WAY CONDESCENDING and told me they would BE HAPPY TO REORDER IT FOR ME. (A word to the wise, Ernest, you can be snotty and condescending when you are GOOD AT YOUR JOB. Since you are not, you should hold off on the attitude). Frustrated, I figured I'd see what Hobby Lobby could do. Guess what? Hobby Lobby cuts their own matts, which the gal did in about 5 minutes. She also dry-mounted the print (another 5 minutes), and put everything together in the frame (another 5 minutes) for considerably LESS than Michael's had quoted me. Looking around while I was there, I noted that Hobby Lobby also has a better selection of frames and framing options, and their staff is MUCH more professional and talented. Another word to the wise.... avoid Michael's!

I walked in and, after shopping, found a piece on sale (yes, they do have sales) in time for my Super Bowl party. Customer service is beyond compare, and the representatives are very knowledgeable and helpful. On given evenings, they invite guest artists to explain their craft and engage in discussions. The evening chats also include refreshments. Please give this place a chance. You will not regret it.

I'm a mom of four (5, 4, 4, and 2) and my youngest three have developmental delays from mild to severe. While my husband and I have come up with some amazingly engaging/proactive activities for the kids thus far, we're always on the hunt for more, for better, for That One Item/Activity/Etc. We've Been Missing. Lakeshore Learning--much to the chagrin of my Visa card--has yet to disappoint. It's by no means exclusively a store for teachers; it's by no means exclusively a store for special needs parents. Sure, sensory items and activities abound...block play, active play, puzzles, and manipulatives in abundance--but this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you don't want to make the trip (although I don't know why you wouldn't!), hit up the website and request a catalog. It is huge, glossy, and enticing. Also? I wanted photos of my mom and I as well as couples photos of my husband and I . The photographer Rachel was very thorough by explaining packages and pricing options and also making me aware of any promotions and offers that are currently available. I was pleased with the photos and the options she offered in addition to receptiveness to some of my ideas that I wanted to capture in some of the photos. The photo shoot was very enjoyable and now I have some beautiful memories of important people in my life thanks to the photo representative.
