She is a very happy personality and a smile for every customer, which is what you want when you walk into any business. We arrived at the room and it was spotless. The beds were nice and tight looking sheets on it and it looked very comfortable. We were real happy with the Room. Rooms here also come with a breakfast in the morning, which is pretty substantial and as you come in through the front door, you greeted with flavored waters in a container fill up your glass and they were delicious. Check in was easy and efficient with the friendly front desk staff, I even got my rewards points posted. My room was clean and ready. First thing I do is check the WiFi and log in my laptop. Yep, everything is working fine, speed is fine. Looking in the bathroom, everything is clean and no stray hairs not of my color or creepy crawly guys running about. The hot water is good and hot, cause I love to take long hot showers when stay at hotels, cause my hot water at home sure doesn't last that long! Breakfast is good as usual, all the same stuff as all the Holiday Inn Expresses. Hot entrees, like eggs, potatoes, and the amusing pancake machine I never use. I love those cinnamon rolls for sure! It's also super quiet--you can't hear other rooms, which made it easy to rest. The fire pit is nice for late nights, and the bed and comforter were extremely comfortable. Location is perfect: Proteins House is about 2 minutes away, Chipotle is right in the lot, and the hospital across the street made this stay very convenient for work. Yes, there are train tracks nearby and of course freeway noise, but the noise level is not terrible depending on which side of the building your room is on - middle of the building will have less noise. When I checked in, I specifically told the front desk that we had a very small, two-pound Yorkie with us. Nothing was mentioned about a $75 pet fee. Around 1:30 a.m., while I wasn't feeling well, I went downstairs with my dog to purchase a couple of drinks from the lobby market. The employee working the desk then informed me that the person who checked me in was a trainee, that I should have been charged a $75 pet fee, and proceeded to have me sign the pet paperwork--asking me to backdate it to the previous day. I understand hotels have pet policies and fees, and I have no problem paying a fee when it is properly disclosed. My issue was how this was handled. I had been upfront about the dog from the beginning, yet I was made to feel as though I had done something wrong because of an employee training mistake. The facility was good, but the late-night interaction felt rude, uncomfortable, and unnecessarily confrontational. Instead of feeling like a guest, I felt bamboozled and hassled over something I had disclosed at check-in. Better communication and a little courtesy would have made a huge difference.

this is a definite stop on the drive-by travel tour of ripon, california. i have always been…read morefascinated with this motel. from the front, it looks like your average 1950's strip motel....which used to have a VERY cool neon blu lite motel sign out front. however, as you turn the corner, you come upon a massive old cemetery literally starting 2 feet away from the back of the motel. what's even more interesting are that all the back windows of the motel seem to be walled in (guess the view wasnt too desirable?). considering how old the graveyard seems to be (at least 100 years), im willing to bet there are some unmarked graves that had the unfortunate fate of being covered by the blu lite motel. i always presumed that this motel would surely have a "no vacancy" sign on halloween.....but it has yet to happen in the 5 years i've checked....

We got a great room, located very close to the pool area. We loved that the hotel was so close to all the American Graffiti festivities downtown. The hotel has a work out room in addition to the pool and a restaurant with a bar. We will return next year and hopefully stay in the same room. The free cookies upon arrival were also a nice touch!
