The rooms are actually pretty nice and clean. They just need to work on everything else... The wireless is awful. I needed to do some work while staying there but it was nearly impossible since the connection goes in and out and when it does work the bandwidth is pathetic. I even went down to the main lounge hoping for a better signal but it was just as bad. It's 2014...subpar wireless gets an F- The gym is not much to speak of. It has one universal machine and 2 treadmills. Only one of those treadmills works and by "working" I mean it shut-off on my 6 times during a 30 minute run. I'd compare this place to a third-world country, but then I'd be disrespecting third-world countries. A real 'shit show' (both literally and figuratively). While waiting the 30-plus minutes just to check-in, I visited the lobby restroom that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Feces and urine littered the bowl and seat. And also speaking to 'haven't been cleaned,' on the motel/hotel's approach, we were met with overfilled garbages cans that ornamented the front of the structure. Now back to the 30-plus minute wait... As we arrived at 3:00pm, we witnessed a very long line of customers waiting to check-in. The manger (not sure of his name... but I can describe him as being of East-Indian descent), looked on as a single hotel counter clerk struggled to check-in guests. (We were told) This was amid having to answer the phones , navigate broken equipment and wait for uncleaned rooms to become available. When I confronted the manager politely about the delay and his lack of assertiveness to help quell the gripes and concerns of the guests, he told me: "what I'm doing has nothing to do with your business." The hotel clerk informed us that: the manager doesn't know how to operate the check-in equipment. After remaining on the line, with no hopes in sight of getting to our rooms -- and after viewing photos from a guest (also on the line) who had recently checked-in and found her room to have urine on the bathroom floor and bed with sheets that appeared as if they hadn't been changed, we left and sorted out another lodging situation. DO NOT STAY HERE! This hotel should be shut down and is a health hazard! The hotel room was dirty and disgusting! There was pubic hair all over the restroom toilet and hair over the sink. The shampoo and conditioner bottles were dirty/used and not replaced. The tub was dirty. There was a white substance on the bed that looked like dried sperm. There was hair on the bed. The television did not work nor did the refrigerator work. I don't understand how this place is still in operation? A complaint was filed with the front desk, and we have yet to hear from management. Do not waist your time, or money staying here and more importantly do not risk your health staying at this place. My next step is to contact the health department because this place is a hazard to all. They clearly do not care about the COVID pandemic because the bathroom was not cleaned. I booked through Radisson directly so I expected Radisson quality. This was the most deplorable booking ever. First room, the door wouldn't close properly so we moved. Second room was not a mini suite as I booked and paid for. Besides hairs in the bathroom floor, no drinking cups or coffee or coffee cups. There was a coffee maker though. Good thing I don't need a hair dryer. Will be making additional calls to Radisson later today. Only reason we stayed was because it was already late into the evening and after driving 10 hours, I needed to stop. Oh yeah, only 1 shower towel. I'm sorry I didn't read the reviews but I trusted the brand. My lesson learned. *** Edit*** Spoke to China on the way out. She was nice and explained they are transitioning. Wasn't a pleasant stay. Hotel is outdated and in disrepair. Carpets in room were dirty, towels worn, very low lighting, appliances worn and hardly working. Very loud at 1-3 am people talking in hallway, banging on doors. Air conditioner loud. Wouldn't recommend staying here. read more

I would avoid, especially during COVID times, unless desperate. Very unclean room, not just beat up and worn out. Room floor was horrible - visible dirt and other (?) stains or material. Door surfaces are dirty. Pics show visible grime and a wash cloth after water was wiped from floor. NASTY! We paid $75 fee for pet charge for our small dog. They initially said it had to be cash. Hmmm? I said credit card only and the clerk said okay. Hmmm. In the end I am sorry to have subjected our dog to this environment. Discovered dog hair on AC unit. Our dog doesn't have black hair! We were very disappointed with our stay here. When we first arrived, we found a dead roach on our carpet. On the morning of day two there was hammering out in the hallway by 9 AM. One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. I used my Radisson points for the room and the desk clerk told me there was a $20 charge nonetheless. I called Radisson and put them on the speaker phone and it took 30 minutes for the hotel clerk to concede there was no additional $20 charge. I think it's a local hotel "shake down" scam. On top of that there were signs posted everywhere warning that hotel management reserved the right to add surcharges or kick you out. Extremely unfriendly atmosphere. Additionally the facilities were absolutely filthy and in a state of disrepair. If I had arrived during daylight hours I'd have found another hotel. But it was after dark and I was riding a motorcycle. So I stayed there. But I didn't unpack anything for fear of contamination. CJ from Fleming Island, this hotel was not worth the one night rest over. Room had an order of feet and smoke, no shower curtain . Crakes in sink and toilet. Bathtub drain had curd inside shameless room.Roaches in bathroom room, the lobby smells like natural gas, management says chemicals used in pool yeah right!!! Room door had a gap so wide we didn't have to use the peephole, of course we asked for another room standard answer non available SMH, yes prepayment was made. Had to purchase some towels the ones here was very yellowed Wow. House keeping left a used towel on living room floor, yes by the time we check in they were gone, that was around 4pm. read more

Alexis at the front desk was extremely helpful! It was Thanksgiving and we really needed a room. She called her manager (who was off duty) to check if some Internet reservations whose cards weren't verifying could have their reservations canceled so we could stay. She really went above and beyond to help us. She also was so helpful and friendly to other guests - helping with issues and welcoming them to the hotel - as she checked us in. The only thing nice about this hotel is the staff. The coffee downstairs tasted and looked like tea. It was so weak I could see through it to the bottom of my cup. The coffee pot in the room had slime floating in the back of it so that is a no go for me! I had to go get coffee from Dunkin' Donuts down the road. The hotel was dirty and the comforter on our bed was covered in big yellow stains and looked unwashed. Will not be coming back to this hotel. read more

This was a nice stay while in Sumter. The staff was helpful and very polite! I was very pleased and felt very welcomed!

I have stayed here in the past and been VERY pleased...but not this time!!! The room smelled wet and musty and there was mildew in the vents of the A/C unit. The thick opaque drapes were too long and if you closed them, it covered the louvers where the air came out of the A/C, so you only had the thin, sheer drapes to draw closed and that did not keep the intense sun out and didn't offer much privacy!! The worst was many of the guest that were staying there were VERY inconsiderate of the other guest by running the halls, squeeling and yelling up and down the halls, having many people in various rooms PARTYING and excessive smell of marijuana (in the lobby, in the elevator, in our hallway). The noise and weed smell finally subsided around 1:30 AM (the weed smell re-appeared around 6:30 AM). At one point during the evening, my wife went to the front desk to complain about these issues and the person at the desk said, "let me call the police". My wife waited about 10 min. and she never tried to call them and some of these disruptive guests were coming to this associate and talking with her like she was a relative to persons of these groups. My wife even felt that the hotel associate had been partaking of the "party herb"!! There was even a guest that asked my wife if "she was going to the party in the one room"? When we checked out, 2 days early (staying somewhere else) the desk associate (different person than the night person) asked us how our stay was (never asked why we were leaving early), we elaborated about all the issues and all she said/offered was..."I'm sorry to hear that" AND THAT WAS IT!! They overbooked reservations, so even though I prepaid my entire stay, they turned me away. Every decent hotel was booked, so I had to stay in a not so nice motel. Even under construction, this was a great place for us to stay! Out son was playing Zonals and most of the Team was here. What a great staff. Amazing service and attention. So first of all the staff needs training on how to deal with unruly guests. We were there with our 1 year old daughter and were all kept awake by a party that was going on in the next room and throughout the hallway outside our door into the wee hours of the morning. We complained numerous times and the lone clerk tried to get them to quiet down, but was just laughed off by the party and nothing more was done. The side door to the hotel was rigged open to allow non-guests to come and go to the party that was happening on our floor. I believe this behavior was known by the hotel from the previous night as they tried to get us to change our room prior to our arrival, but wouldn't say why. They called me and asked if I was sure I wanted the suite and not just a standard room which has never happened before in my many years of travel. Now for the room itself it was dank and musty smelling. You could tell there had been some recent repairs, but it seemed to be a facade as you could tell paint was placed over existing dirty walls and mold was around the air vents. Also the windows in the room were broken and wouldn't secure properly. On top of that the one ice machine in the hotel was broken as well. We were only there for a night and that was one night too many. The one positive statement I can give is that the staff was very friendly, but just need better training on how to deal with the unruly guests. read more

When I arrived I was not checked in properly and he still gave me a room. Next day I was told I didn't have to check out til Sunday morning at 11am. We were there for a dance competition in the area. Before leaving for the competition my room key wasn't working i had the front desk manager fix the key and i left directly after to go to the competition. Once the competition was over I return to the room and was unable to get into the room. Went to front desk and the young lady did all she could for 1 hour to help me get into my room. She reset my key and created a master key 3 times to get into my room even going as far as trying to got through the outside window to get in. We were suppose to leave Saturday night but it took so long to get me into my room we had no choice but to stay. The young lady called the front desk manager to let her know what was going on and how can she fix it and while in speaker phone she says " girl I don't know what to do I'm tired and going to sleep" some manager Tj make that response. Anywho after 2 hours of trying (it's now 11:13pm) my mom breaks into the outside window and climbs through to get us inside our room. The only way we could leave the room and come back was if we left the lock on or a towel. The room keys did not work at all. Not only was that an issue but we found roaches in our room on the bed and bathroom. When I spoke to front desk manager ( lady with dread locs ) the next morning (Sunday) demanding a refund she tells me I can not get one because she gave me a free night in hotel without her manager knowing (mind you I checked in Saturday morning so there was no extra night) **have this conversation on recording** she explained that I wouldn't get a refund and I let her know i was going to call corporate because I am very displeased with how things were handled and how I was unable to get into my room which I had missed a day of work (i had be there at 7am) being I had to stay until check out Sunday morning at 10am. I am still demanding my full refund from this hotel as I'm not satisfied at all. read more

The hotel itself is maintained in good appearance. The rooms are decent, however they have roaches coming out of heater/air conditioning units. In addition, some of the furniture, treadmill is in bad condition needing replacement. Complimentary breakfast is decent and offers a good selection. Wouldn't consider returning due to roaches. read more
