This is a staple for my wife and I for many reasons. The decor and staff are always welcoming and enjoyable. The taste of the food is always a hit. My wife ends up getting the same tot scramble every time because of how good it is and I think it's amongst the best things of their menu. A few negatives this time: - asked for an empty plate and was given one that was pretty dirty (almost noticeably dirty) and had leftover food on the side of it from last use. - the price has become a little much. I'd like to see the prices go down about 25% and it would be perfect. - added cheese to my eggs and in my opinion, it could have been a bit more cheese on it. - not much a negative but more a personal preference. The waffle I got had almost too much butter on it. Again, not a negative, and I could have just put half of it to the side, but almost every bite ended up with too much butter. That's my fault. Other than these few things, very enjoyable and I would come back. I loved the bacon and my wife's farm skillet. Last time we came they gave us an envelope to use next time for a surprise discount. I didn't have time to dine in this visit, so I ordered takeout from Country Kitchen Restaurant -- and it definitely delivered. I went with the Country Fried Chicken & Eggs with Pancakes, which is basically comfort food done right. The country fried chicken was crispy, hearty, and exactly what you want when you're craving a classic breakfast plate. Full disclosure: I only managed to get a picture of the chicken because the pancakes didn't survive long enough for photos. That's honestly the best compliment I can give them. Their pancakes are that good -- fluffy, buttery, and pretty close to perfection if you ask me. Even as takeout, everything held up well and hit the spot. Service needs a little work. You can tell when they got overwhelmed by the 3 small parties that had just walked in. It's as classic of an vintage breakfast place you can get. It's a nice little cafe right off the 15 freeway, if you're looking for some delicious breakfast classics. Our group ordered our dishes with a friendly waitress. I got the country breakfast, which came with Eggs, Hash, and Pancakes. I added some sausage, too. The plates came out fairly quickly, though service was definitely on the slower end. Think it was more noticeable with my group than for me - I enjoyed my meal and the pancakes were really good. The sausage protion was also very good - came with 4 sausage links. Think you have to ask for Ketchup, but the maple syrup is on the table. So not too much dazzle here, just a simple place for breakfast. Parking might be a little packed up front, but there's lots of parking around the lot. This morning, we stopped in for breakfast, and honestly, I'm not sure why this restaurant has so many 5-star reviews. I ordered the sausage Eggs Benedict, and the Hollandaise sauce was sweet and congealed. I believe Hollandaise should be creamy, buttery, and have a nice lemony flavor. The sausage had very little flavor and tasted as though it wasn't particularly fresh. The veggie omelette and country Benedict were both just okay--certainly nothing special. We also ordered a short stack of blueberry pancakes, which was very disappointing. They were essentially plain pancakes with a handful of blueberries scattered on top, nothing like what the picture suggested. To top it off, the service was not great either, which made the overall experience even more disappointing. Sadly, if I lived nearby, I wouldn't be back. I love the breakfast here, and although im usually not a fan of pancakes, I found the pancakes here to be absolutely delicious!!! So buttery, fluffy, soft and sweet. Not your typical flat cake of flour. I usually get a skillet and the portion is treat. It comes with pancakes and I usually share with my son. He loves it here. The good. Arrived at the restaurant and was seated quickly. The food was average once you receive it. Inside of the restaurant is very clean and organized. The bad. Took almost 10 minutes to take our drink order. Took another 10 minutes to take our food order. Took another 15 minutes to get our food and not all the food was delivered. This place was won a place in our hearts. It's the perfect place for a family brunch and here's why. It's roomy and has comfy booths. There's plenty of space for everyone and the high chair. It's just a relaxing atmosphere. When we're there, we're present with each other and are able to shut off the outside noises. The food portions are always huge. I love that they give you the option to have a pancake instead of bread for the side of carbs. My favorite go-to lately has been to build my own omelet with broccoli, sausage, and cheese. They opened a while ago. Because whatever restaurant comes into this location never really stick around for long, I came in with pretty low expectations honestly. Because of how the building structure is with minimal interior remodeling, the inside feels and looks more like a counter order dine-in place than a full service one. I noticed right away that the menus had food smears, grease and smelled of old rag, but like I mentioned... I wasn't expecting much. To my surprise, however, the service was top-notch with good menu offerings. Price was reasonable for most entree items for what it is now days. I ordered bourbon ribeye. I was quite disappointed with how tiny the meat portion was. It was thin enough that the edges were curling up. It honestly couldn't have been more than 5oz. I cut it into 5 pieces and finished it within a minute of food coming. It tasted fine, not amazing. Just ok seasoned ribeye. The generous porition of sides did fill me up, but I wished I got more of the entree and less fries. My kids seemed to like their food so theres that. I don't know if I just ordered a wrong item, but I just wasn't completely satisfied. I'll probably come back just once more and get something else to see if I change my mind.
