King bowl steak/chicken with spicy noodles/veggies.
Andrew C.

This place gets 5 stars. Overall fantastic experience. The employees were welcoming and the dinning area was clean. I ordered the king bowl with steak/chicken and spicy noodles/veggies and it was delicious.

Was ok . Rice had crunchy pcs in it , steak was ok . Hibachi spots usually ask how you want your steak cooked. Not here .

First impression. Quiet at 11:54 am, super clean. Staff is very helpful in explaining all the options. I got two items and the flavors are basically the same. Beef burrito and the Beef yakisoba - came with fried rice. The flavors are there but they are just not flavorful enough for my palette. Seems a bit light on the tongue. It's definitely edible food. For the price on some of the items I'm not sure if it's worth the portions of meat. They give you plenty of rice and noodles. The food is not greasy which is a great thing. I can say it's a 3 out of 5 stars. It's probably a great option if you need a cleaner place to eat especially if you're on a specific diet and for fitness enthusiasts. I may give it a try again soon. It's a good option for me if I am in a specific diet. Give it a try for something new.

Hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time! The Spicy Chicken Rice & Noodles at El Chingon is absolute fire (in the best way possible). Perfectly cooked noodles tossed with tender, juicy chicken that's coated in this addictive spicy sauce that hits all the right spots - bold, garlicky, a little smoky, and just the right amount of heat that keeps you going back for more. The portion is massive, the flavors are insanely balanced, and that little kick lingers in the most satisfying way. I'm already craving it again. If you love bold, spicy, comforting food that punches you in the taste buds and leaves you happy, this dish is a MUST. El Chingon has a new regular in me!

We had not had the opportunity to visit this relatively new restaurant but had heard good things about it. My wife had the vegetarian plate w/tofu & I had the chicken yakasoba which was great. Not many places serve this dish but their version was spot on! The service was more than polite and they knew their food. The decor is simple but clean. They did appear to have a good to go business. Will definitely return.

Food was great! Ordered several king bowls and they give good portions for the price. The vegetables were made crispy to my liking... Ordered via the Toast App, which made it for easy pickup. Would nice to get extra sauce. Service was good. Inside looked like it had ample space for large groups.

We live down the street and thought we'd check out this place, and I have to say, it was a hit! The service was so friendly and they answered all our questions about the menu. The food was absolutely delicious, and we're already planning to come back. It's a fantastic spot for lunch or dinner. You should definitely give it a try! The wings are so delicious as well, forgot to take a picture but super crispy.

I'd been looking forward to trying this place and finally got the chance. The staff was friendly, but not very helpful even after I mentioned it was my first time here. I ordered a bowl with steamed rice, noodles, and shrimp, along with a drink. The noodles were a bit too sweet for my taste, but the rice and shrimp were good--though I wish there had been more shrimp. Overall, it felt a little pricey for what we got. I'll probably have to check out some of the other menu options before deciding if I'd come back.

I had El Cinco hibachi for lunch. Called in the order. The food was delicious again and reasonably priced. The decor inside is adorable.

I'm glad my brother found this food spot after the gym. The serving we got fed both of us and we had leftovers. The restaurant was clean and the service with quick and kind. He answered all our questions and was honest about the serving size. It is located in a warehouse area off of the freeway going towards Temescal Valley. Delicious flavor and I love that they have fit bowls for after the gym or on the go meals when I'm tired of waba or flame broiler.

Twin Blade Combo, Broadway Tail, Hibachi Boss Mom (Mother's Day special, basically the Tokyo Trio Supreme). & Fried Gyoza

Food & service were amazing! Good portions too. The whole staff was friendly & our waitress Danna was extremely pleasant & went above and beyond! We did have to correct a couple things but they all dealt with it quickly, professionally, & kindly. Highly recommend & will be back! Thanks again Danna :)

Was riding down Temecal Canyon Rd to Toms Farms and noticed HIBACHI signs. Wow! We need this! Timescale Valley needs this! We xhecked out the online menu and pix. Read both google and Yelp reviews. I have to tell you, this place deserves 5 syats! Especially when we were juat orderingbt To Go. What a great find. Apparently it's been here for 2 months. We ordered the Tokio Street burrito with Shrimp. This was delish my hubby said. I ordered Hibachi King Bowl w/ Shrimp and Chicken. I also ordered hibachi veggies on side. Wow was this a lot of food. It could of fed 4 people easily. It was delish, felt healthy and quick. The restaurant was super clean, the employees were very helpful and nice. They have grat sauces. Some came with a meal and I ordered more. They are very helpful to accommodate. The only thing I might ask them to reconsider is theory unchanged for theor hibachi grilled veggies. They really are that good but please give me twice the amount if they cost $5.00. Or add them as an add on with a meal for $2.75 They were building a patio area outside. So there will be that too, when it it cooler out. Friends, give them some orders and eat here! Totally worth it. Oh and order accordingly 2 means 4 people! Yay! Fortune cookies were the best

I was actually excited to try this place. I took my kids and they could not chew the steak. Steak quality was poor and chewy. Both the kids plate and the adult bowl the meat was tough. Chewy and lacked flavor. I got the half and half bowl. The noodles were a bit dry. Staff was polite but food was not great. I had high hopes El Chingon but sorry we won't be back. Kids plate, the kids need to at least be able to eat the meat not spit it all out saying it's too tough. Gyoza was good. Disappointed!

Unseasoned food, if you notice any seasoning it's because I added it to make it edible....

Our anticipation for a special family meal was unfortunately tempered by several service issues that we believe warrant your attention. Upon being seated, our party experienced a significant delay of approximately forty-five minutes before a chef was assigned to our table to commence the cooking process. This initial wait was further compounded when, upon the chef's eventual arrival, it became apparent that he did not have all the necessary ingredients readily available to prepare the meals for our group of eight, causing additional minor delays. Despite these operational challenges, we were pleased to observe a notable improvement in our dining experience once the chef began cooking and actively engaging with our table. The quality of the cuisine was exceptional, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the delicious food prepared. However, we must also highlight a comfort issue that affected our overall experience. The air conditioning system appeared to be insufficient in counteracting the considerable heat generated by the hibachi cooking tables, leading to a somewhat uncomfortably warm environment throughout our meal. We trust this feedback will be valuable in identifying areas for improvement to ensure a more consistently seamless and comfortable dining experience for your future patrons. Once the whole party was seated & our order was taken, we received our delicious ginger salad and miso soup quickly. When our chef arrived he was ready to put on a show! He was so fun, engaging and very genuine. All of the food was amazing. I got the filet mignon steak w/ fried rice and my husband gets the sumo steak. The filet mignon is definitely worth it but if you prefer more meat, the sumo steak is the way to go. The drinks are affordable and compared to other teppanyaki places, the food is affordable and absolutely worth it. They also offer a happy hour in the dining room only - does not include the teppanyaki grill area. Truly one of our favorite places!!

3.5/5 Stars - Nice Experience, But Some Service and Timing Issues…read more We visited Tabi-Ji Teppanyaki for my husband's birthday and had an overall decent experience, though there were a few things that would make us think twice before returning. We chose the dining room seating rather than the teppanyaki tables. The staff did offer us the teppanyaki experience, but since we don't eat red meat or chicken from certain places and weren't sure how the food preparation process worked with mixed ingredients, we opted for a regular table instead. One downside was the seating arrangement. We were seated away from most of the other guests, and it often felt like the staff forgot we were there. Our original host/server was attentive and friendly, but once they were busy with other tasks, it became difficult to get assistance. It was also not busy for a Tuesday evening. We found ourselves waiting for long periods or having to wave someone down, which wasn't ideal, especially for a birthday dinner. As for the food: * Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll (4/5): Fresh, good quality fish, and a generous portion. A solid sushi roll. * Garlic Edamame (4/5): Flavorful and exactly what you'd expect from a good appetizer. * Lobster Duo with Miso Soup, Salad, and Fried Rice (3/5): Unfortunately, the lobster was quite chewy and seemed overcooked. The miso soup and fried rice were both enjoyable and helped make up for it. * Unagi Donburi (4/5): My husband's meal came with white rice, miso soup, salad, and fried rice. It was his first time trying eel, and he really enjoyed the soft texture and flavor. He said he'd definitely order it again. Our biggest disappointment was the timing of the food. The Unagi Donburi arrived significantly later than everything else. By the time it came out, we had already eaten most of the appetizers and other dishes and were pretty full. It's unfortunate because it seemed like a dish that would have been much better enjoyed fresh, but we ended up taking most of it home. Overall, the food ranged from good to very good, and being able to reserve through Resy and use our Amex dining benefit definitely helped offset the cost. However, considering the price point, we expected more attentive service and better pacing of the meal.

Oh no! They have an impressive menu, very diverse. I like that you can order either large sushi rolls, or the smaller, Happy Hour, 5 pc. size so you can try more and not hate yourself as much when you waddle out the door. The rolls are beautifully made, made with very fresh ingredients, the ratio of rice to filling is perfect (i.e. not too much rice), and the rice is nicely flavored. Their tempura has great flavor, the poke salad is outstanding, the miso soup is rich, not watered down, but the biggest "prize" IMHO is the fish collar (kama), either salmon or hamachi. Here is where you separate the men from the boys. They do not sell old kama that has come from a food supplier's bag, frozen. They only use fresh, the same quality as their sushi, because it comes from the same whole fish they have selected to filet for sushi. Taste it and you know you have hit the jackpot. Before they broil it, they simply slather Japanese mayo on it and salt & pepper. There is something about the mayo that makes it sing a whole new tune. The kama is moist, tender, and comes with their tasty, house ponzu sauce. It's a real treat. Bonus points for being very reasonably priced relative to other sushi houses and they tend to be larger as well. To take advantage of the Happy Hour menu, it is available every day of the week. Monday through Thursday until 7pm, Friday through Sunday until 5 pm. It's an abbreviated menu but has great choices, fairly priced. Their service is tops, seating is limited (probably not more than 40), the interior is warm and quaint, and parking is no problem. And don't forget to respond to their friendly farewell with a duplicate, heartfelt "See you tomorrow" as you leave! Enjoy!
