Best Woodfired Pizza in town! We came on a Friday night an hour before closing, and had wonderful service, and loved our pizza, fried pickle and banana peppers chips with ranch! Only reason for the 4 star review, was the volume of the live music. We enjoy live music, and the band was good- however, upon entering the hostess and waitresses couldn't communicate well with us- we had to point and use hand motions. I find this unsafe in case of an emergency. I would suggest lowering the overall volume, where you may have to talk loudly, but can still enjoy the music- not where you can't even yell to speak to someone. read more

Somewhat busy on a Saturday night, but service was seriously lacking. We enjoyed the axe throwing and live band, but it didn't make up for the food and beer offerings. The "beer wall" is novel, but at least half a dozen taps were not functioning. The flight boards are nice but the taster cups do not fit. I ordered a pizza for pick up so I can't comment much on the axe throwing. I will say, I've never thrown an axe but this place made me want to try! I got the Ranchy Coop pizza and added a buffalo sauce drizzle. This is a rich and creamy pizza because of the ricotta! I'm glad I added some buffalo sauce because it added some acidity. It says the sauce is mild but I got a couple bites that were extremely spicy! The staff was really friendly when I went in to get my food. The larger size pizza had 8 pretty big slices. The pizza is on the pricier side. I've had coal fired pizza quite a few times and did expect it to be a bit more crisp or darker on the bottom. I had been craving pizza but cannot currently eat tomato sauce so I liked there were choices I could enjoy. My craving was satisfied. The price makes this a splurge for me in terms of pizza. read more

Food was good but service was a little slow since they were busy. We were quick to be seated without reservations and food didn't take long to arrive. We participated in axe throwing afterwards and had a fun time. It was our first time so they provided us with tips on throwing axes. Hands down an amazing experience! Ive never thrown an axe in my life and Ema our server taught me everything in just a few steps. The virtual game gave us great target practice and made it a competitive experience. We ordered the coal fire pizza which was delicious and asked for a side of homemade ranch to dip the crust in. The name of this pizza restaurant is a mouthful. But you will forget about the sesquipedalian name when you get a mouthful of the pizza! West By God CoalFired Pizza is located inside Country Roads Axe Company, a digital axe-throwing place. The pizza at West By God is some of the best pizza you will have anywhere, let alone in Pigeon Forge. This pizza joint is unique because they cook their pizzas in a coal-powered oven -- one of only two places in Tennessee to use a coal as their heat source. Pizzas come in small (personal sized) and large (enough for a family of four). We got The Pizza Party, which is an extra-pepperoni pie with Mike's Hot Honey. We were sharing with a kid, so we got the hot honey on the side just in case, but it turned out that the kid digs hot honey! (It's not that hot.) The pepperoni on this pizza is the small kind that curl up and get crispy on the edges. The best pepperoni. They also have a kids' menu. I highly recommend you try the "School Favorite" from the kids' menu, which are baked pizza rolls stuffed with cheese and served with a side of marinara. There's also a literal wall of beer on tap (24 different beers), which you can pour yourself. I didn't partake and instead just got ice water, which turned out to be a good decision because they have rabbit-turd ice here! You know, that pellet kind of ice that's crunchy and satisfying. Oh yeah, and there is axe throwing here, too. You don't need to do axe throwing in order to dine inside the restaurant and enjoy the food, but it's a bonus! It was fun just eating pizza and watching other people throw axes. West By God is located in an unassuming strip mall, with a wide-open, empty parking lot that could fit several busses. So needless to say, parking is easy here. The service was amazing, and our server was laid-back and checked in on us the perfect amount. This little hidden gem in Pigeon Forge was probably one of my favorite restaurants we visited while in the area. read more

The oven is the real deal. Unfortunately, the ingredients they use are cheap crap and they under cook the pizza. The tomato pie is uneatable. Service was terrible, we waited well over an hour. Third visit and still a Charm. From now on we don't come to Gburg or Pigeon Forge without going to Country Roads. This is our third time and it is always delightful! The pizza is perfect. So good you don't know which one to get because they're all amazing. We had the gardener, the pizza party, the ranchy chicken coop, and the spicy coop. We also had a gluten free pizza party. All were amazing. We had the house side salad and the Julius side salad. Highly recommend! For dessert we had cookie butter banana pie and funnel cake fries. We also threw axes for an hour and we had beer cards. You pour your own beer!!! And pay by the ounce. Service was great as usual. They are attentive and the food comes out quickly. Had a great time today with our family. Adults and kids enjoyed it! Music was GREAT (all of us agree from age 8-40+) Pizza was amazing! The boneless wings were soo good (even my picky eater enjoyed them!) The pour your own beer was cool (though tricky if you've never poured one before like me) and there was a HUGE verity. This place was such an awesome treat for anyone, but especially for a WVU graduate like me! We came in for vacation and I saw this place and had to come, as I thought it would feel like home. I wish I could say it was absolutely incredible but it felt un inviting. The food was great, the pizza was unique and it really tasted amazing. The food alone at this place shines! Our pizza was really tasty and authentic, and the pizza rolls were also good. The beer wall was such a cool concept and really added to the experience. The axe throwing was cool; and overall the spot felt great. Now the only thing that fell really short was the service experience. We came in with a decent sized group of 8 or so, and our server immediately seemed super annoyed. I've worked in food establishments so I usually brush it off, but it was to the point where the server made us feel unwelcome (granted we did have a 2 year old who was a little fussy so I attributed to that potentially) nonetheless, not feeling welcome was a huge let down. I would go back based on just how good the food was, but the service was not what I would expect coming in wearing full West Virginia gear. I'm Brooklyn born, Queens raised and I'm gonna say it... this pizza is killing it. Even he would love it (If you know, you know). The staff is great, the whole axe tossing atmosphere is awesome (although we didn't do that) and the beer concept is cool with the do-it-yourself and pay by the ounce concept but the issues with foamy head were kinda annoying (coming from a former bartender) but in the end I only had 11oz of beer of the 48oz of allotted beer so it wasn't an issue at all and who's really gonna complain over an once? Just be patient and let it settle. In the end, 100% recommend and would put a notch on my belt for one of the best pizzas I've had outside NY. I can't say enough good things about this place! It's a hidden gem for sure! We came on a Wednesday around lunch while waiting for our time slot for snow tubing. We were sat immediately and explained how everything works. They have great food, extremely friendly staff, and a nice beer selection. Plus the self serve beer is the coolest thing I've ever seen! The targets for axe throwing come through a projector and are not the best quality. Computerized scoring system made it easy. Personally, I prefer a real target not a projected screen of a target. Good spot for football, as they have Sunday Ticket tv wall. We stopped as ladies shopped. Didn't throw an axe, but did drink the beer. Dispenser wall of brews, pay by the ounce is cool. Felt bad for the servers (under staffed) Lots of running around trying to help everyone, but got it done. Pizza sizes seems to provide more size than described, which is good I suppose. For this New Yorker, the Pistachio Pesto pizza was excellent! We were concerned about Mike's Hot Honey drizzle since we don't eat spicy but it only gave it a little kick with flavor.
