Cool place. Bartenders were all nice guys. Drinks were good and strong. Wish they had a few things to eat.

It's a dive bar... and I 100% do not mean that in a negative way. I love a good dive bar and every…read morecity needs one. It was my first time at O'Malley's. I came alone and sometimes as a solo female at a bar you feel uncomfortable but bartender made me feel welcome from the start. I ordered a Chicago beef sandwich. It was adequate...Mediocre.... When I think of a Chicago beef sandwich the first thing I think of is pepperoncini and/or au jus but it had neither. But it was decent, kind of like a thing you might grab & go on the road somewhere.... edible but you're not thinking about it afterwards. The sandwiches come with french fries but I got the Greek pasta salad instead. I should've got the french fries because I paid $2 up charge for weak pasta salad. But the reason I'm still giving it 4 stars was that it's a nice local bar. Clientele chatty. My bartender was very cool. I didn't get his name (young, blond, skater type) friendly, welcoming. If you're looking to have some drinks with friends and play pool, I think it's a perfect place, but have dinner first before you get here.

The waitress was apologetic for the delay, it wasn't her fault, not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but many customers were upset about the slow meal preparation. Update!!! Now known as Speedy's Pizza and Pub. Things are 100% better. The food, pizza, was delicious and hot. We had the daily special, two slices of pizza and a drink for $10. The manager took care of us and we were very happy with everything. There was a good number of patrons and the restaurant was clean and the seating was comfortable.

We could walk here if we wanted and we are big fans of that. We came in when they had first opened so they were still figuring things out which I completely understand plus the hurricane coming through recently did help either. Looking over the menu they have a lot of your typical bar/pub options but a few you don't always find too. Looking for the drinks I was able to find my classic for Sylva but with a new name this time. At the Junction Pub it goes by the Loose Caboose which is a shot (for me Whiskey of course) and a beer which I picked Busch Light. You can't beat it. Our waitress brought our drinks and we ordered. I ended up going with the wings (12) tossed in Honey Sriracha. Our food came out pretty quickly which was nice. The sauce for the wings was good. Spicy with a nice sweetness but not overly sweet which can sometimes happen. For sure still had the kick I wanted. The wings for the most part were good. Cooked perfectly and nice and crispy. I will say I few of them were on the smaller side but you also got some monsters too to even it out. The service was excellent, and our waitress was extremely friendly and help us with questions throughout our meal. For sure a nice local pub we will be coming to often.

***UPDATE*** ~ I called the restaurant Wednesday evening to request a call back from Daddy Mac's…read moremanagement and Benjamin returned my call within a couple hours. We had a productive conversation in which we were both able to discuss the experience and come to a resolution. I am very grateful for the quick response, being open to call, and listen further. Thank you Benjamin! On another trip to Asheville, we will try it again..... ********************************************************** My family and I were quite excited about trying an unique restaurant and seen great reviews, however, our experience wasn't so great! Upon arriving at the restaurant, we had seen some items we wanted to try, but the sanitation grade on the door was a 90, so that quickly changed our food choice and should have changed our food experience for the evening. We decided to try it anyway! The hostess didn't know the menu very well and couldn't answer many questions without having to go ask someone each time. Once we ordered, my brother tried paying for the food a few times and she kept walking away. While waiting for our food, the same hostess "cleaned" a table for waiting guests by wiping the food from last guest onto the floor and leaving it there and continued to seat the next few tables, and then decided to come back and get the food swept up. I guess it's normal because another server did the same thing and that never got swept up. Our food (wings and brisket) was ready. The pan lid was not closed all the way due to them putting all 36 wings that had different flavors in the same container. We continued to inspect our food and the wings weren't hot (fresh), all three flavors in the same container, sauce was clumpy, and wings were very dark and dry looking. We couldn't tell which flavor was which. My husband tried conversing with a young man (tall, dark wavy hair), who couldn't or wouldn't attempt any service recovery with my husband and pretty much told us everything looked good to him leaving my husband frustrated. I located a manager told her what was going on and she evidently didn't have any empowerment from upper management to decide resolution because she had to go ask the general manager to resolve. The general manager agreed to "remake" the order which they did separate the flavors this time and they were warmer. Considering this was a remake the GM brought our order out to us and should have been apologetic, making sure everything was correct and was satisfactory to us. He literally handed my husband the bag and took off. My husband had to make a comment to him in order for the GM to acknowledge him. We definitely would love to speak to a corporate member and or owner, and will make a phone call to them. This was very disappointing, concerning, and a disheartening experience in Asheville!
