In regards to the last two reviews on David Powell and Ryan Miller. Noone prints the good things we do for people throughout their visit and stay with us. We do our best to screen the individuals staying with us but there are always bad apples that weed there way in because they are good a being just what they are conartist. These to gentlemen lied on their interviews with us and when the truth came about they were both asked to leave immediately. I see they didn't post the nice things we did for them as to feeding them both meals, doing free loads of laundry or taking them to town because neither of them owned a car. We have had numerous people stay with us that we have helped get jobs, loaned money for cars, gas money, free taxi service and have waited for rent money owed to us. It is true we did not require a lease or deposit. That has changed due to these types of situations. We were told by David Powell that he would be here to rent a sleeping room until August/September. If we would have had a lease he would have been responsible for these months of rent owed to us. His employment abruptly ended (fired)and we require you to have employment to rent a sleeping room. We need to know you can afford a room. Also during David Powell's stay he colored his hair blue in our community bathroom leaving blue hair dye to stain not only our sink but also our floor, tub, towels and walls. My husband and I had to scrub and scour the entire bathroom on our hands and knees before I was to be at the hospital for my 10th surgery due to breast cancer. To all landlords out there this would have been cause for immediate dismissal or you would charge them with destruction of property. We let this slide and did not charge David Powell for the damages. David Powell did not meet my husband for 3 days due to his work schedule and David Powell insisted on coming on Friday instead of Monday then wanted his payment date changed to Mondays. It was like pulling teeth to get him to pay for those 3 days and was only charged for the room rental and not the wifi/cable and AC. I was also told by David Powell that his co-worker was bad mouthing us and like any good descent husband he defended his wife. As for Ryan Miller, he was interviewed by phone because he lived in another state. My husband allowed him to move in with only paying $400.00 of his $684.00 bill because he claimed to be a disabled veteran which I myself never saw any proof of. My husband being a veteran himself felt sorry for his situation and made these arrangements with him via phone conversations. I won't get into the details of what Ryan Miller spent his remaining expenses on but he signed an agreement to pay the $284.00 he owed for the rest of June with his July payment needless to say I'm not getting paid. Knowing that Ryan spent his money on frithaless things and knowing he had no food in his refrigerator I offered him meals in return for him mowing the grass. I fed him 10 four course meals, plus my husband was nice enough to even bring him home breakfast from work. Ryan sent a text message to him saying the food and cigarettes bought for him was not enough payment for 3 days of work. Ryan Miller wanted paid cash when he already had an outstanding bill due to him wanting his pay cycle to be monthly. How soon you forget you had 2 spaghetti and meatball dinners with garlic bread, 2 grilled pork chop dinners, with grilled baked potatoes and vegetables and salad, 1 meal of grilled barbecue chicken, grilled corn and pasta salad, 2 meals from Little Ceasars, my husband bought you 2 breakfast when he came home from work plus he took you and paid for your meal at the Chinese buffet that you ate at for an hour, all of which was recorded by video surveillance. You forget all of this is caught by video surveillance. You are correct in saying there are 2 sides to every story but in this situation there is your version, our version and then there is the video surveillance, video that captured every conversation and meal that was provided for you for your 3 days of yard work. I did indeed try to help you get employment but I was told this morning by the employer your interview did not go well and you had to much drama going on in your life. It's quite easy for people to jump on the band wagon when they want to bash people on social media. All businesses have good and bad reviews. They may tell you not to rent from us but I implore that you DO NOT rent to these to gentlemen. The money was not worth the aggravation they both caused. These 2 individuals took advantage of me every time my husband left for work knowing full well I had been fighting breast cancer the last year and half and having 10 surgeries 4 of which were just recent. Just remember everything you, Ryan Miller and David Powell that everything you did and said was captured by video surveillance that you did in my house. lt will stand up in the court!!!!!!!! read more
