Even though it feels very remote, the grocery store is only 2 miles away. A fireplace on each level and updated appliances make it very inviting. There was more then enough wood stockpiled for us. Its pricey but can easily accommodate multiple families to make the cost reasonable. There is a ping pong table in the basement and my only suggestion would be to add a pinball machine and/or arcade style game. We went to nearby Hawn's Overlook of Raystown lake. Absolutely beautiful. We hope to make Bear's Paw Lodge a pre-christmas tradition. Though I can see this place growing in popularity.

I was looking for a place to stay while visiting my daughter at Bucknell University in central PA…read more I happened to find this place while googling a vrbo-type place and found this fabulous place to stay. This is our 2nd weekend to stay at this lovely cottage (used to be a barn) which has wonderful sleeping accommodations for many people. It's like a large studio with a kitchen, desk, dining area, bathroom, living room and bedroom. There's a TV with Direct TV, a stereo system, a bookshelf with books, DVD's and CD's. If there are more than 2 people staying, the owners add a twin bed. There's also a futon and a sofa sleeper for 1. In speaking with the owner, she really wanted to make this place as comfortable as can be and has added many amenities to make your stay comfortable. The refrigerator has jam, butter, peanut butter, fruit, yogurt, granola, orange juice to get your morning started. She also provides guests with bread or muffins in the morning. Of course there is coffee or tea ready to brew. When you wake up in the morning, you open up the blinds to a beautiful yard which you can wander around and enjoy the arbor swing. I wish I had discovered this place sooner because it's a wonderful and relaxing place to stay.

While essentially a single space, it is nicely divided into a separate bedroom area, a roomy living area and a comfortable kitchen. A large bathroom and a second bedroom complete the layout. The entire cottage is nicely decorated and is also very neat and clean. Both the bathroom and kitchen are well equipped and user friendly. A variety of snacks are provided. What also makes The Barn special is that it is definitely dog friendly. We always bring our small dog with us and he seems to enjoy the experience as much as we do. There is a basket of dog toys near the front door, dog treats are provided and two dog bowls are located in the kitchen area. Thus, both human and canine guests are warmly welcomed! Not only is the cottage itself a wonderful retreat but it is located on a beautiful piece of property that is very nicely landscaped and easily accessed. A well constructed concrete walk leads directly from the parking area to the front door. At the rear of the house, a sliding glass door opens onto the large backyard which slopes gently down to a beautiful meadow. Guests are invited to walk the property and we are always happy to do so. Despite the bucolic atmosphere, The Barn is very conveniently located. It is within a couple of miles of downtown Lewisburg, Bucknell University and a variety of stores and restaurants. Finally, the the owners, Tanya and Fred, are friendly, accommodating and clearly committed to providing their guests with a wonderful experience. I can honestly say that we've thoroughly enjoyed each visit and always look forward to our next stay. I wholeheartedly recommend The Barn at Pheasant Ridge to anyone visiting the Lewisburg area. I knew my husband would definitely enjoy it but I was on the fence, especially about pouring cold water over my head every so often in late-October air. I'm SO GLAD that I tried it and felt absolutely amazing afterwards. Mike and Nancy were again fantastic. The cabin was impeccably clean and as always, everything we could think of was there for us. We can't wait to go back in the winter months and hope for snow!

The couch was a little on the shorter side so it was slightly difficult to get comfortable on the couch. The bed was pretty low to the ground and it was tough to get in and out of and both my boyfriend and I had trouble sleeping because of it. There were bugs across the floor of the cabin near the windows in the living room. There was no broom and dustpan anywhere that we could find to clean it up. If we come back I think we'll most likely stay at the Tiny Homes. They were much cleaner and the bed was a lot more comfortable.

We stayed in the Whitetail Lodge. It has a master bedroom, bathroom, and loft. Bathroom has a…read moretub/shower, sink & toilet. My son fell in love with the loft area. There was a small couch, tv, and the 2nd bed (full size). The steps to the loft are quite steep. We didn't let the two kiddos under 5 on them. The cabin is fully furnished. All the linens, and towels were there. Plenty of pillows & blankets as well. There is an outside fire pit with tables and chairs. You can purchase wood there for $7 a bundle. The grounds have shower houses, a swing set, a kennel fence to contain pets, lodge cabins, and overnight cabins. The lodge owners, John & Liz, are super nice. They were on the grounds daily to repair things and clean. They stopped by once to let us know Elk were up on the main lodge's yard. We saw a good many elk in the area, none near our cabin tho. We were told there are a few family of bear living around the cabins. We didn't see them. However, you could find random pieces of garbage with claw & teeth marks, and the dumpster has obvious bear damage. There is no cell phone reception anywhere on the camp grounds, and there is no wifi in the cabins. There is wifi at the main lodge, you just have to ask for the password. The nearest cell reception is roughly a 1.5 miles up the road from the camp. Its only a few bars, however. There was a motion sensor light on the one shower house that was directly across from our cabin. It would detect out movement when we were at our firepit. It also would detect every movement from the firepit of the trout lodge. It was nice for loading & unloading the car at night, but was annoying while having our campfire. There are a few signs posted around camp that say to call John & Liz if you need anything. Only problem is, no phones. They should install one in each cabin for emergencies, even if they only connect to the main lodge. The camp had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay. If we are back in the area, we will stay again.
