I had such a great experience at Country Waffles! The food was absolutely delicious everything came out fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for. You can really tell they put care into both the quality and presentation. What made the visit even better was the service. Our host, Tyler, was incredibly attentive and welcoming from the moment we walked in. I have not been to the restaurant in about three years. Went on a Wednesday 10 AM so the place was not packed. We were served coffee with no utensils to stir. Finally got the attention of the host who proceeded to bring us our silverware. The waitress was quick to take our order . My friend and I each ordered the Eggs Benedict. Our main entrée was lukewarm at best. Hashbrowns were delicious. My friend had to pick the bananas out of her fruit dish because they were so brown and mushy. I've been here before and the food is good, which is why we decided to come back. But today's experience was really disappointing. We were seated around 12:00 and only got our drinks. Nobody ever came back to take our order or check on us. We waited 45 minutes, and eventually just got up and paid for the drinks because we couldn't get any service. What really bothered us was seeing two white customers come in after us and get their food within 10-15 minutes. As Mexicans, it honestly felt like we were being ignored or treated differently, and that's not something you expect from a place you've supported before. The food has always been good, but this experience left a bad impression. I hope management takes this seriously so everyone gets treated fairly and with the same level of service. read more

I'll start off with the bad: Cockroaches. I was greeted by one as soon as I sat down. I'm not one to over react so I didn't run off. The waitress was friendly and I really wanted to try the place. I enjoyed my waffle combo breakfast but the cockroaches really stuck in my head and after reading several other reviews mentioning the critters I'm not sure if I'll return. (I pass through the area about once a month). A shame since I did enjoy the food and appreciated the friendly service. But cockroaches in the public areas is certainly a sign of worse in other areas. read more

Great food too and generous portions on drinks (ordered the iced tea with lemon). Ordered the country waffles and chicken with a side of two poached eggs. It was a HUGE plate. If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. We sat for over 15 mins waiting for someone to (not even) serve us our drinks and show us some courtesy. We left after almost 20 mins with no drinks and no food ordered. All this was with a 3 year old who was patiently waiting and asked me several times why there was still no food or drinks. This is my favorite place to eat breakfast in town - I never have a bad meal here, and so far have introduced my best friend and boyfriend to the food here as an intro to Los Banos itself, hah! I always get the garden omelet, and you can't go wrong, but their chili burger is great for lunch too! The waitresses know me since I've been goimg here since childhood and the service is always fast. COCKROACHES EVERYWHERE!!! Trust me the owners are well aware of the problem and until they make a public announcement, I will spread the word to everyone I know! Dead cockroach on OUR PANCAKE that was just given to us. Live cockroaches on the walls and side booths crawling as we were walking out. So so gross. Nice to see a country breakfast restaurant in town being that there are not many. Checked it out, turns out that their food was good. No major complaints just only one thing in my opinion, I think for the omelets they made should of had a little more cheese, maybe... a side of some homemade salsa well they did have the bottle hot sauce but of course it's not the same. Ordered an omlette scramble which had peppers, ham, bacon, sausage with Olives and cheese although they should of added a little more cheese in my opinion. Hashbrowns were good but you cant see them since it'd under the scramble in which is how it comes when you order it and came with toast that was soft n buttery. Interesting right.. Husband ordered the omelette with country potatoes, he loved it with no complaints. His came with a nice fluffy waffle. It was good My son ordered a kid plate which consists of scrambled eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. Kid approved I would say, it was good he says. Overall I would give a 10 for customer service-friendly, food comes out quick within 10 mins when u order, wow! Another 10 right there. For food, have not tried everything besides what we have ordered but I would say their food is worth a try. Stopped by Country Waffles on the way to Santa Cruz from Los Angeles. It was one of several breakfast restaurants in Los Banos. We chose Country Waffles based on Yelp reviews and the exterior decor. Every waitress was kind, welcoming, and attentive especially Jessica. She kept my coffee mug full and ensured that our needs were met throughout our visit. I ordered the All American breakfast with 1/2 order of caramel pecan 'n banana waffle, and a side of 4 sausage links. My sister ordered the All American breakfast with 1/2 order of strawberry waffle. The caramel pecan 'n banana waffle was amazing with just the perfect amount of sweetness! Highly recommend giving it a try. This will be my regular stop when driving from southern CA to northern CA. Our first time here! Tbh I'm a sucker for these family country style type places; just cozy atmosphere and comfy eats. We came for breakfast and had a short wait while they cleaned our tables.
