Wonderful staff. They love my fuzzy boys (Vermie, 10. Spencer 4) Vermie had to stay overnight for a few nights in April. While he was staying at CVC some family things came up, and they willingly kept Vermie as a boarder for a few days until my dad could have time to pick him up. Unreliable and unprofessional. Been a customer for only a few months and during this time I had two appointments pushed back at the last minute and three other times was told to seek services at other clinics for urgent issues. They also established care with a Vet that only works in this office once a month and is unreachable for any calls or anything in between. All I needed was a form signed for insurance but nope. Also asked to speak with Dr. Sood several times and even that took weeks. He has yet to ever meet my dog. So yea, as a first timer with dogs and Vets, I'm hoping my next clinic won't be so horrendous as this one. On a positive note, Liz the office manager is nice, and really tried to be accommodating, but there have been too many issues for such a short period of time. read more

For the longest time I took both of my cats here. They did a pretty good job with both of them. The issue here was with my dog. My dog always had bad teeth from plaque. The vet wanted to charge an obscene amount of money just for x rays of my dog's teeth. Then the vet couldn't give an upfront answer if my dog would have to have teeth pulled or how many. Needless to say, we never went back after that. With Covid restrictions being in place I can understand that animals still need help/checkups but not being allowed in with your animal is just not right. They are stressed enough as it is going to the vet and then this office tends to add more stress to the poor animals when they don't allow their human to go in with them. This vet office is one of the more expensive ones in the area. Personally, I wouldn't waste your time going here unless you feel like being charged an arm and a leg. read more

We really like the doctors at Countryside but the office staff is terrible. So much so that we have moved to a different clinic after going to Countryside for 20+ years. We had called to cancel an appointment for our puppy. Apparently whoever took our call did not cancel the appointment in the system. We rescheduled and next time we went in, my husband was screamed at. The woman he encountered literally yelled at him without even giving him an opportunity to speak. Told him he was rude and took money out of the doctor's pocket. It was genuinely shocking how rude and unprofessional she was, we have never encountered anything like it. Luckily the vet stepped in and was wonderful. Today we got a call that we missed another appointment! We made the appointment for a Friday. Confirmed this with the receptionist on speaker so both my husband and I could both hear it (given the issues we had before.) The office messed it up...again. Like I said, the doctors are wonderful. Dr. Hsu in particular is so kind and great with the animals. But it's not worth it to have to deal with the rude, nasty, inept front office staff. read more

I am not sure what these other reviews are about. I have been taking my dog here for a while and I have been very happy with them. They were able to help him with his anxiety when other methods failed. The staff have always followed up with calls and have answered my questions. I really hope that people realize that it costs money to have an animal. Outside of food, treats, and toys, there are vet bills if you want a healthy pet. Vet techs are the most underappreciated in this industry, but I thank you for all that you have done for my dog. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! This clinic has misdiagnosed my dog for months now. The first time, without my knowledge, my poor dog was seen by a vet tech and never the veterinarian! Prescribed a lot of very expensive medicine which we gave to our dog and things did not get better. We've taken her back again recently and they prescribed more expensive meds which have done nothing but make her incontinent. Now, several months later and hundreds of dollars later we think the dog has a nasty case of MANGE! How was this missed???? The poor thing whimpers in pain from scratching. Not to mention she's been in our home and around other dogs so we had to contact people just in case. This dog has been sick for months and put on medicines that did nothing for months! If anything, they made her lethargic and not herself. read more

I'd rather give a zero than a 1. Horrible place to take your pet, I've tried to contact them on several occasions due to two emergency situation and they turned me away. Most recently, they said their sched is full and in the meantime, I have a rescue cat with (2) dead kittens inside her. I made an appt. for the next day bc I didn't know what else to do but mama kitty was on deaths door and I couldn't wait any longer. Soo, I had no other choice but to go to the animal hospital and forgot about the appointment made, in turn, they've disregarded my pets as patients and now I have a 65 dollar no show fee... unbelievable. I'm highly disappointed considering I've been going to this place 10+ years, disgusted really. The doctors are great which is why I've been going to this place for years, but recently the staff turned terrible!!! Front desk girls are so rude, No care for the animals like before. The last time I took my pet there for his annual visit the vet told me it was time for a teeth cleaning. Which was fine but the last time they took 7 teeth and it was $1,200. This time they want to charge me $1,900. I understand everything has gone up but he has 7 less teeth they have to work on, so he should be under anesthesia a shorter amount of time. Also when it was time to leave, they wouldn't let us go up to the desk to pay (as we have in the past). They took my bank card out of my site for payment. I swill never go back to an office that treated me like they didn't trust that I would go to the counter and pay before leaving the office. They over charge for everything. My family has been going to Countryside Vet clinic since 1984. Today, my dog was in distress, pooping all over the place and needed to be seen by his vet. I was told by a very nasty receptionist that she couldn't invent appointments and he couldn't be seen until April. That is it for my family and Countryside Don't go there ever! read more

Since Dr. Hardy retired, a corporation purchased the practice and it has gone down hill. While the long time techs are still there and amazing, they don't have a regular vet on staff that would have years of knowledge of you and your pet families so often times there is no vet available and the services once provided are not the same as rules changed when a corporation took over. They also have large fee's if you forget the appt day or time or if you become ill and don't give 24 hrs notice which of course can't be done if you get sick on a Sunday and your appt time is 8am on a Monday. I don't like the corporate feel, it's not pet or people friendly like it was before Dr. Hardy retired and sold her practice. We will be looking for another vet practice, one that is private owned even after having given Countryside our trusted business for over 20 years. read more

Like most places, the vet you see probably makes a difference. However, I keep having bad experiences here (won't be returning again!) and want to make sure nobody else makes the same mistakes. Firstly, I don't know the going rate around Buffalo, but their exam fee is $59 which is only $5 less than I was paying in NYC so that seems a bit high. Second, went to go see them today and they did literally nothing for me (didn't even take my dog's temp) and still paid that $59 fee. The vet was condescending and I didn't like her. The worst is that that same vet told a family friend his dog was dying of lung cancer. Took the dog to another vet...the dog had pneumonia and is fine. Should've taken that as the major hint to never return here. Yikes. read more

We took our dog into surgery to get his cherry eye fixed today. Knowing that our dog just got over an upper respiratory infection I would have thought they would have checked him out before putting him under and intimating him. They said that we would only pay half the price for anesthesia but we paid full price. They quoted my dog $805.00 to have his cherry eye surgery and instead got a huge bill for X-rays and a whole bunch of unnecessary tests, and yes the fee you get every time is so astronomical. Very upset my dog came home frightened and shaking and didn't want to be around us, he will never go back. read more

I have been taking my girls to Countryside Vet Clinic for over four years now. Although the clinic is a little bit of a distance from my home in Snyder, it has always been worth the trip. Dr. Wishko is fantastic - you can tell she truly loves animals and cares about the well being of your pets. She understands vet visits can be expensive and explores all options before suggesting surgery/expensive procedures. I can't say enough nice things about her. I've also had very positive experiences with the front desk staff. They are pleasant when I visit and ALWAYS accommodating when requesting appointments - even at the last minute. You won't be disappointed coming to Countryside. It is a trustworthy clinic. read more

My senior dog needed to be fixed as a result of an enlarged prostate. Dr. Hardy was great and professional. Initially, I was due to pick my dog up at 5:30pm. I received a call from a technician by the name of Wendy asking if I could get him at 1:30pm because he was "barking like a crazy man!" She asked if I could go over the post operative instructions over the phone. I explained to Wendy. I was unable to do so as I was on a call due to a family member having a serious health emergency. I asked if we can discuss it when I arrived and she said it was fine. Upon my arrival, I patiently waited 15 minutes for her to come out. When she came out to explain the post operative instruction she seemed immediately perturbed. No smile, no greeting very cold and unwelcoming. She told me to put my mask on in my own car. She did not ask, she demanded! When I began asking questions in regards to my dogs medication as his liver enzymes are elevated; she rolled her eyes huffed and puffed then said she had to go on and consult the doctor. When she came back; I continued to let her explain but I had more questions due to the fact my dog had previously been prescribed 4 medications and was prescribed a 5th. She clearly was unaware of what he was on and the previous medications were not clearly communicated on two occasions which caused me to make sure there was a full understanding. Wendy rolled her eyes huff and puffed then told me I asked too many questions! I needed to know if the medications would be detrimental to his health. She continued to roll her eyes, breathe heavily and interrupt me while not having an understanding of my questions because she did not allow me to speak. It was quite remarkable! I have never paid for a service and received such as display of rudeness as I was trying to glean an understanding. I asked to speak with someone else due to the fact she seemed highly agitated and mentioned she still has 5 dogs in the back that she has to take care of. Wendy then said; "If you would've just spoke to me over the phone we wouldn't have this issue." I apologized that my loved ones health emergency came at an inconvenience to her however; I came 4 hours earlier than I was expecting to. She then replied "well your dog was barking like a fool!" At that point; I realized it was pointless to continue to ask her questions regarding my dog. She had no regard for myself or my dog. No compassion for my family emergency no the fact I was concerned about the severity of my dogs condition. I had to call the office and get another technician since I was denied that opportunity upon pickup. I have taken 3 of my dogs to Countryside over the last 17 years. I have been a loyal client and given them countless referrals. Dogs are very intelligent being and my dog Buddie's barking signified the fact he was not comfortable there. For her to huff and puff, roll her eyes call my dog a "madman and a fool" foolish on her behalf and is indicative of the compassion and empathy she certainly lacks. I immediately found a new vet after returning home. I will no longer give them referrals. I will never subject my dog or myself to such toxicity especially while paying $600 to be treated with such disregard. If she was that way to me, I cannot truly imagine what my poor dog endured when I was not present. The very thought sickens me. There's enough going on in the world kindness and compassion are free and they go a long way! I understand people have bad days but when it comes to an extent of disregard for others then it may be time to re-evaluate your career. All it takes is one unprofessional person that can change the reputation a company spends years building and a moment to ruin a relationship with a loyal client! read more

I scheduled a yearly checkup and grooming service on the same day. Seems like a great idea at first. Turns out the vet doesn't have scheduled time with the pet. I asked the secretary what time my dogs appointment was so I could go in and ask some questions. She said the $60 appointment time "isn't technically on the schedule" and that they "just see the dogs between appointments". Sounds like their double dipping... makes me wonder what else they've charged me for that wasn't done. I spent $1,000 about a month ago for them to tell me my dog has acid reflux and to try wet food. Brought my cat in whom was constipated, and had him returned after three days of medicine and vet tlc, to find the tender loving care was experiencing a shortage. We took Mittens there and everything was great! The place was very clean, parking was close, staff were friendly. The wait was a little long, with barking dogs in the waiting room, but the doc was great! She even called us the next day to check on things and review all the issues. read more

I had my poor cat suffer so bad from the heartless staff here. She was extremely sick her skin was yellow she had liver failure. They first gave me false hope that she would get better, they then charged for 3 days. I got a call that night on her status and that no one would be their for the holiday. I brought her home Wednesday night was taught how to give her fluids and was given meds and food. For having paid 3 days she spent 1 and I ended up owing more money. I brought her home and she got worse. I ended up having to take her to an emergency vet who said she should have been sent there to begin with. After an exam and an ultrasound it was determined that she was sicker than Countryside had let on and i had to put my baby down. Had Countryside been honest and said that they didn't have the capabilities to treat her correctly she wouldn't have suffered. They also diagnosed her over the summer as having behavioral problems. The Emergency vet said the had fluid they believed to be cancer related and from her heart so now I truly believe they misdiagnosed her and she has been suffering for months. When I called them to tell them she was gone I didn't get any sorry only ok I'll tell the Dr. my poor baby suffered because of them being money hungry and not caring about her well being. They lied about how bad she was and had me believe she was going to get better. Heartless cruel money hungry people. read more

Worst Veterinary office ever! They don't give you results for 8+ hrs on your animal because they are "too busy" and then when they call you back they have no idea why your animal is sick. Would not recommend this vet to anyone, they have been wrong numerous times with our animals. read more

I have absolutely nothing good to say about countryside. My family had always brought our pets here for as long as I can remember and it wasn't until I went somewhere else that I realized how terrible they truly are. The doctors don't seem to actually care about the pets they see they just want to get you in and out as quickly as possible to make more money. The vet techs are fine nothing special. Now for my rant about the receptionists, this is where the breaking point was for me. I currently no longer take any of my pets to countryside but my mom has an elderly dog who she never moved over to our new vet (millersport small animal clinic) because he's been going there for more than a decade. So on occasion I stop in and pick up some of his meds for my mom. As far as I can tell there is only one receptionist out of at least three who has any clue how to do her job. You ask them the simplest of things and they all look at you like it's their first day and they don't know anything. They are slower than can be and I can't say I've ever had a good experience with them. read more

I strongly suggest your receptionist doesn't give "medical" or doctor advice. A puppy I rescued has fleas. We are on day 3. I gave her 2 baths and petarmour drops yesterday. I was interested in the Capstar pill however they couldn't get me in soon enough (Sorry I would prefer to get the fleas taken care of this weekend instead of next week) instead I was told to "wash off" my waterproof petarmour drops and to put on advantage. When I questioned the 2 doses of flea meds, she had no idea if it was harmful or not, and would not ask a doctor. disappointed because I always liked this office, but ill take my dog elsewhere. read more

Although the office staff has been great, the vets leave a lot to be desired lately. One of the newer vets mistakenly left a stitch in my dog while removing others from a wound. It became infected. I was then charged for another office visit to remove the stitch and charged for the antibiotics to clear up the infection from the stitch she forgot. Time to switch..... read more

Let me start by saying that I have been with Countryside Veterinary Clinic from the initial startup when Dr. Schultz ran the clinic. I have taken all of my pets there over the years but it seems like they have lost that caring touch. I called the other day because my dog had been sick all weekend, throwing up and diarrhea. She was at the point of dehydration so I called first thing Monday morning. The receptionist point blank said there is no way we can see her, you'll have to wait until tomorrow or the next the day. I said, she can't keep fluids in her and she's a tiny dog, she will dehydrate. The girl said, there's nothing i can do for you, maybe you can go to the Emergency Vet. She was very rude and uncaring. You would think after all the years of going there with several animals, they would have at least found the 10 minutes to look at her. Before spending $500 going to the Emergency Vet, I called another local vet, Cornerstone Veterinary and they were more than happy to help me, however, Countryside did give them a hard time about sending the records over. Anyone even thinking about calling Countryside, I warn you, don't do it if you value the care of your pet. read more
