if I could give zero stars I would. scheduled a full groom for my 18 lbs dog was told it was going to be 3 hours. seems long but did it anyways. after 3 hours my wife goes in to pick him up and all he had was a bath by then not even dried. they said give them one more hour and he would be done. wife took him home and will do it herself. if I wanted to put my dog in a kennel for the day I would have taken him to one. read more

My wife dropped our oldest dog Pepper off yesterday to get groomed, I always pay extra for the Furminator package. My wife mentioned to the associate that Peppers ear has been bothering him lately due to some dirt getting inside, the associate stated that they will clean his ears. This morning, we noticed Pepper was once again shaking his head, alerting us to check his ears. My wife used a paper towel and a solution given to us by our veterinarians office, and the result was, dirt on the paper towel on the first try. If they cleaned his ears, they obviously did not do a thorough job. I pay over $100 for each dog to get them groomed, so I expect to get what we pay for. I called to get a nail trimming and first they wanted to say my dogs rabies shot is out of date which in fact it's still good. So I call back the next day for them to tell me they couldnt do it and they're booked for grooming and cant "squeeze" a two second job in. They are in fact the worst to go to. I took my 10 year old golden retriever there for grooming and the girl traumatized her. She had so much anxiety that she wouldn't even get in the car. It took a half hour to calm her down . Then when she wasn't any better, I took her to the vet who said they cut her back end too close and hurt her. I took the $80 bill back into the store and all they did was reimburse me for the horrible grooming. They didn't even act like they were going to do anything to the young girl who groomed her. Radar & Goose are happy that we have a Petsmart so close to us. Although somewhat smaller than other Petsmart stores further away, I can usually find what my cats need. Their favorite dry food & litter are always available. Always get assistance with the large, heavy litter bag. The staff are always super friendly & quick to assist me when necessary. Their return policy is great too, especially since my cats can be picky (mostly with toys!). I highly recommend this store, because they're friendly, always assist us, & honest. I took my golden retriever here for a grooming within the last two weeks and it was almost 90 degrees outside this day and humid I dropped him off at 10am and picked him up at 1:30pm when I got there to pick him up first of all the staff is unfriendly and unprofessional but all that aside my poor pup cried all the way home I couldn't figure out what was wrong when we got home I realized he was so thirsty he drank his whole bowl of water plus a second one I'm pretty sure he wasn't offered anything to drink in the 3.5 hours he was there and in my book that's borderline animal cruelty. Secondly on one of his legs she got a little close with the razor and cau burn. I'll never take my pup back there again and btw it's not cheap. read more

I am so happy having a new PetSmart in Lockport! It's super clean, the staff is friendly and I love how they aren't afraid to stop and help you if you have any questions! I was lost in the "all natural" food aisle, had no idea what to buy, and a staff member came up and helped me choose what was best for my dog's needs. Also their prices aren't too bad. Surprisingly. I was expecting the prices to be through the roof! I went Nutro Natural Choice, by the way. Awesome food for my Great Dane! He thinks it tastes good and I don't feel like I'm feeding him garbage food. However, the puppy trainer that was there the day I came in was awful. She grabbed my dog out of my arms and started checking him over (puppy - just got him from the breeder mind you) lifting his ears, his lips, his eyes, spinning him around, terrible... AND she started criticizing me for buying my dog from a breeder! I am all for rescuing dogs, but this one I knew was the dog for me, don't take the excitement of a new puppy away from me. She was a big, blonde, burly woman doing the puppy training classes. So if possible, try to steer clear of her. She may bite your head off about your dog too! Ugh. I would absolutely recommend this store to someone else absolutely - just stay away from the puppy training class corner. You won't be disappointed. read more

Twice now I've had my new puppy scheduled for an appointment and twice now they didn't have it on the schedule. My old dog always got in no issues. Not sure if they have some computer problems with new dog profiles or what but they have permanently lost a customer. I will be buying my dog food and pet supplies elsewhere as well. read more

I struggle writing a review for a place like this. I guess let me start with this, I like PetSmart. I like that they are clean. I love that I can bring the dog with me. The selection of products is good. It is a one stop shop for grooming, training, treats and more. The thing I struggle with is the prices. For instance, we are training my puppy and I needed treats and I am told that Bil-Jac treats are really good. I go to PetSmart and buy them $12 for a 1lb bag, we are running low and I happen to be on amazon ordering something else and I notice them for $10 or a 3 pack for $8/each, lastly we go to our local feed store and they are $6 a bag. In the end PetSmart is twice as much as it's local competitor. I have found them to be more expensive on everything that I have compared prices with, in a couple of instances almost 3 times more expensive, in others only by a few dollars. With the mass purchasing power and client base chains have, they should be cheaper or at par with others. That is my big hang up and why they can't earn an amazing rating. It's a shame really, because the staff seem great and I like what they offer and in most cases how they offer it. read more

I was so happy to have another pet store arrive in Lockport. The staff at this location is very helpful and very friendly. I had my dog groomed there yesterday and Michelle did a great job! My dog was very well taken care of and the staff took the time to find out exactly what I wanted regarding grooming preferences. My dog looks great! I do feel that the grooming is a bit pricey, but the service is excellent. read more

I live in this area, so it's really convienient to have PetSmart at this location. It's great to just be able to run out quick to grab dog treats, a toy, whatever I need to buy and go. I am a regular customer at this Petsmart. The thing I don't like is the pushy salespeople, I don't need people on me when I'm looking at things, or trying to push their sales and services on me. Today I bought 3 dog bones in the Buy 2 get 1 Free dog toy sale, and the cashier had to say "This is when it's good to buy the expensive toys", I didn't even answer, I know what types of toys my dog likes, thank you, and you also have this sale weekly. One other time a different cashier asked me what type of dog I had and when I told her I had a Sheltie, she commented they were a lot of work in grooming and I said I know, I've had three, and then she had to say "We groom a lot of Shelties here" obviously trying to drum up business. My current dog is my 3rd Sheltie, I have a groomer I already go to, and no way would I be getting my dog groomed at PetSmart! read more

Do not take your dog here to be groomed! Or, if you must, then at the very least, do NOT allow Shauna to do the grooming!!! We have a cute Maltese-Yorkie mix and when she was done with him, he looked like a Chihuahua...so very disappointed, not only with the horrible haircut but with the horrid customer service, too. Shauna was about 15 minutes late for our dog's appointment. There were two other people working that morning before she came in; one was actually working on a dog at her station and the other was casually chatting on the phone, completely disregarding our presence! Another customer came in after us and received service before us. We were quite rudely told by the one who had been on the phone just seconds ago that we had to wait on the person grooming our dog, who happened to be Shauna, who ever so inconveniently was running late. When Shauna did decide to show up, she did not apologize for her uncalled for tardiness, either. When we picked our dog up later that day, we were livid. Our precious and cute little Maltese-Yorkie now looked more like an ugly Chihuahua with uneven lengths and cuts. She cut it so short, you could see patches of his skin! His ears were uneven, too. There were several areas where some of his hair was longer than the rest and all in all, it just looked awful. After thoroughly inspecting our sweet dog, we were convinced she just did a hurried-up job on him because he was her first dog of the day to groom and she was already running late with that. So, as an effort to probably save time, she just cut all of his hair into a rushed, uneven mess. Shauna spitefully told my husband (whose jaw completely dropped upon seeing our dog) that we need to bring him in more often. Like we would give her our business EVER AGAIN!!!! She must seriously be on something if she thinks we'll ever step foot in that Lockport PetSmart again, let alone put our sweet dog through her brand of torture. It is really a sad situation all around because we actually wanted this PetSmart to be the place we could depend on for our dog's grooming needs, with it being right in Lockport and having decent hours of operation. My wife and I took our new Shi tzu puppy to Pet Smart only because my family dog was groomed by Annie, she did a tremendous job!!!!! Our 10 month old puppy LOVED seeing Annie and she was hands down one of the most caring and gentle groomers we have encountered. We felt stress free leaving our dog in her care, especially after reading so many horror stories of other grooming establishments. Unfortunately we were told Annie no longer works with the company and we are now on the hunt for a new groomer. If anyone by chance knows if she is still working in the pet grooming field or can recommend a reliable groomer that would treat our dog as their own - please respond to this post. At this point I'm not sure how to rate this pet smart. First off I will say the staff is friendly for the most part and the store is clean but.... They never have things in stock for example I purchased a 70 dollar drinking fountain for my cats 3 months ago and they NEVER have the filters in stock. I have asked multiple staff if they have any or are getting any they never know??? Seriously you just work there!!! The next thing is I had my morkie groomed by the "manager" Andrea. My dog received the WORST hair cut I have ever seen. Absolutely terrible to a point it would take me to long to describe and not to mention she smelled dirty still when I picked her up. I've now been to this location twice to have dogs nails trimmed. The first time I went there was a lovely smiling young lady who was absolutely wonderful with my dog. I went again yesterday for another nail trim. First of all, how rude the girls were this time! No friendly smiles and taking their sweet time helping customers. When I passed my little 4 pound Chihuahua mix over to the girl, she almost dropped him! Then after we leave and get in the car, I notice he's bleeding from numerous nails. They didn't even bother to mention this to me. I understand that sometimes it's happens, although not if you know what you're doing, it still should have been mentioned to me. I call them when we get back home to mention it and the girl picks up the phone half still laughing about whatever. When I tell her that my dog is bleeding from more than one spot she says "we may have clipped one a little too short". First of all, more than three, completely unacceptable. Then she tells me it's not a big deal so they didn't bother to tell me. She then tells me it's because he walked on the pavement to get to the car. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, not to mention I carried him the entire time. The lady on the phone told me she was the manager of the grooming department so I'm still pretty confused as to why she hung up on me while I was trying to tell her why I was so displeased.We were rushed in and out and the service was horrible. I'll never go here again. PETCO IS CHEAPER AND THEY SELL THE EXACT SAME PRODUCTS! read more
