I was very hesitant to use them at first, but I was desperate and in a lot of debt- over 20k and I was drowning. The best decision I ever made. My credit took a major hit for the first couple of years, but now 4 years later after everything has been paid off, I am back in the 700 range. I only just signed up with countrywide debt relief last month and so far I am very unhappy. I wish I had researched my debt consolidation options before immediately picking countrywide. My husband did debt consolidation many years ago and they sent out checks to the creditors within 2 weeks. This place is different. Some of your money goes in to "a savings" while the rest goes to legal and their company. They call creditors to settle before paying out. It took me 15 minutes to call my credit card company to ask what they were able to settle with. So Countrywide is basically waiting until you have a certain amount in your savings account before they do anything. That is how I'm interpreting it. Meaning it can take years for them to settle/pay off an account. What they also do not tell you when you sign up with them is that they let your current up-to-date credit cards default and get sent to collections. So basically "we will add on to your effed up credit even though we are suppose to help it". Oh and their employee Amy called us 2-3 times a week to get us to enroll with them even though we were already clients of theirs. How that wasn't noted in the system is odd to me. And to add to this -- when she transferred us over to Debra who helped us enroll and was very pleasant during that whole process -- This time around her tone was not very pleasant. She talked to us as if we were bothering her when in fact Amy was the one who called us multiple times and we were only calling back thinking there was something urgent that needed to be discussed. She kept calling/texting again even after we spoke with Debra. I had to text countrywide to have her stop calling/texting us. Welp. Let's see how I feel in 5 years when this is all over. For all current clients of CountryWide Debt Relief (CWDR), please take note of actions I recommend you undertake. For all pending or future clients of CWDR, please read carefully and heed my warning. I recently terminated by agreement/contract with CWDR for the following reasons: In June 2023, I enrolled 6 creditor accounts with CWDR with the logical understanding that my initial deposit and subsequent monthly payments would activate the services of CWDR in terms of managing and paying down the account balances of the enrolled 6 creditor accounts. Fast forward to July 2024 (12 months months later) and the following is factually documented by CWDR, Global Holdings (CWDR's trust company), and Citibank (my bank): I paid a total of $3,032 to CWDR/Global Holdings; CWDR deducted $1,886 for service fees; Global Holdings deducted $244 for service fees; and CWDR/Global Holdings paid $900 to a single creditor out of the 6 enrolled (resulting in a $900 balance still due to this single creditor). In other words: After 1 year, CWDR managed and made payments to only 1 creditor account out of the 6 enrolled. After 1 year, I paid a total of $2,130 to CWDR/Global to pay off $900 of debt to a single creditor! $2,130 + $900 = $3,032 I paid to CWDR/Global. Exactly 70% of my total payments to CWDR/Global were deducted for service fees and 30% went to reducing my debt! Important questions: Is this debt relief? No! Is this debt reduction? No! Is this debt enhancement? Yes! Is it illegal business activity? Read onward. Regarding the CWDR Debt Resolution Service Agreement/Contract that each current and past client signed, it is a lengthy 41 page document, and it is rather obtuse by way of detail. We each know that CWDR did not force us to sign this agreement, but I am confident that each one of us signed this agreement for the purpose of debt resolution/reduction, not debt enhancement. (The reason I call it debt enhancement is that it is factually clear that I incurred $2,130 of new debt to pay off $900 of old debt). There is no need for me to get into the details of our signed agreement/contracts because it will need to be examined by lawyers in the context of my circumstance, which is very likely the same circumstance for hundreds of current and past CWDR clients. With respect to my previous rhetorical question of "Is it illegal business activity?", I pose the following questions: 1-Have any of you automatically received a monthly statement via mail/e-mail from CWDR/Global detailing your monthly account activity and balances? 2-Upon signing your agreement/contract, did CWDR automatically provide instructions to you about how you can access your monthly statements? 3-If and when you were able to access/view/download your monthly statements via CWDR/Global Holdings, did you notice data columns that were titled CREDITOR ACCT. 1234 and CREDITOR ACCT. XXXX (creditor = name of your enrolled creditor; acct. xxxx = any four numbers) with debits/deductions underneath? For #1-2, my answer is No, Never. I had to inquire/ask after 5 months of making payments. For #3, it is logical for one to understand that the debits/deductions were being paid into a trust for future payment to that specific creditor. However, the fact is that these debits/deductions were being paid as service fees to CWDR. See the attached Table I created for my circumstance. See the Totals of $2,130 and $900 at the bottom. Additionally, see the attached CWDR Year-To-Date (12 months) Statement. The dollar amounts on the Statement match the Table. On the Statement, notice the Descriptors used, several of which are misleading or inaccurate. BOTTOM LINE: CWDR is simply dealing with your enrolled creditor accounts on a one-by-one basis and earning substantial monthly services fees (in total) from a prolonged process. In my case, the single creditor that CWDR supposedly spent one year "managing" had offered the same settlement offer to me that CWDR states they secured. In other words, I could have paid the settlement offer and saved $2,130. IF YOU ARE A CURRENT CWDR CLIENT, PLEASE ANALYZE YOUR STATEMENTS IN A MANNER SIMILAR TO WHAT I'VE DONE. IF YOU ARE A CURRENT/PAST CWDR CLIENT WHO HAS EXPERIENCED SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES, PLEASE REPLY TO THIS POSTING SO THAT WE CAN FURTHER COMMUNICATE. On a Final Note, I already know how CWDR will respond to this posting. They will cite the lengthy 41 page document that I signed and state that the single creditor I mention had filed a court hearing against me. Both statements are true as statements, but they do not legitimize or corroborate the resulting financial circumstances that in effect became unwarranted debt to me and illegitimate revenue to CWDR. read more

I have recently received an advertisement from Country Wide Debt Relief. I have a few problems with the advertisement because: 1. It looks like an official document, saying I had been sued, giving the case name, case number and court. 2. I called them (Country Wide Debt Relief) three (3) times, and after three (3) minutes and thirty-one (31) seconds, guess what they did! They did not connect me to someone as they said they would, kept me on the line, something! No, they hung up on me. 3. I looked up the case number and they got the court wrong. 4. I called who I was "in debt" to; they had no record of me. 5. I looked up the case once again but instead using my DOB, and first and last name, and there were no cases filed against me. 6. Also this might just be a little bit nit-picky, but their QR code they gave me didn't even work. I have a problem with this because this document caused me to have serious anxiety over being sued, when all of my credit debts are paid for and known. Also I am not the person getting sued. This is a predatory practice as many older people, and younger people, who are new to credit and in general the world of finances can get easily tricked by this. Because of this advertisement which caused me serious stress, I will not be using their product offered, if this is the type of predatory behavior they engage in just to advertise to new "clients". *Update*: I did receive a text nearly 2 hours later after calling, but at that point since I had thoroughly proven that the lawsuit was not against me, I replied, to what I suspect is an autogenerated text, to stop texting me. read more

Debt sucks. I had a credit card that went into collections and then was placed into a lawsuit where I was being sued for the balance of $3505.34 (Thanks BofA). I started to receive ads in the mail for help with this and I received one from CW Debt Relief and I was hesitant to call, but I knew I was being sued and had a limited time to respond to my court case. I was contacted by a gentleman named Mark S who asked about the case against me. He was extremely knowledgeable, prompt, and kind through the entire process from beginning to end. He provided me with costs, a re-payment plan, and assured me that if I went with his company, they would represent me in court. However, I spoke with my girlfriend and she said that I would be probably re-paying over the actual amount owed, because this company is a business after all. So I called Mark again and asked him about that. He said, "Sure, you can use us and we will re-coop the costs for the bank, but of course you are not forced into using our plan." I asked him what I should do and he suggested that "sometimes, the lawyers (on behalf of the client) would settle for a lesser amount than the aforementioned $3505.34. And I could simply call their lawyers, ask for a 'settle out of court' number, and if it is less than what was on the paperwork and the suit, to take it." So that is exactly what I did. I called, had it lowered to $2700, had the lawyers fax me a copy of the settlement number, and borrowed money from family to repay the debt. I phoned Mark and he was very pleased to learn that I had contacted their lawyers and got a positive result. If anyone can attest to being behind on debt, I can. Given the situation, debt nearly forced me into bankruptcy and that is not an easy decision to take. If you are in a situation where you need to consolidate debt, or are behind in payments, or even worse, being sued for old debt, do not hesitate. TAKE CARE OF IT TODAY! I am resting better and I will finally have another debt monkey off of my back so I can move forward with my life. I am truly thankful that I spoke with Mark and would highly suggest speaking with them. Even though I did not use their services, Mark was an outstanding service rep and provided me with every detail I asked via email and telephone. All within the same day. I feel as though my money has been taken and nothing to show for it. Communication is poor and expected via email since calls go unreturned. My rep changed more than once so I never knew WHO was actually working on my account. I was recommended debt settlement as opposed to consolidation which now I see was a grave mistake for my credit. After several months of payments, I decided to cancel because I was not being looped in on what was happening other than visible lowering scores. Don't congratulate me, Im still in debt but I will never make a huge mistake of signing up with Countrywide again. I felt I was conned and treated unprofessionally. How? When I was checking my accounts ,I noticed something not right. I know bec this is not the first time for me. The first company I dealt with was very professional and thorough with me until I completed my program. I don't know why I called Countywide instead, a decision I regretted but its was learned lesson for me. When I decided to cancel my account , I called Cw about it , they told me I dont need to cancel because my accounts already been canceled. My question was when it was cancelled bec I didn't received email or notices in the mail that it was. But they still continue taking out money from my the bank. I called the bank where I deposited my payments to Cw , the bank said no one from Cw cancelled so they still continue taking money as I was continued having auto payments. I believe in Karma, although they pretend to help but actually legally robbing you of your hard earned money. So please, don't deal with Countrywide . read more
