For all current clients of CountryWide Debt Relief (CWDR), please take note of actions I recommend you undertake. For all pending or future clients of CWDR, please read carefully and heed my warning. I recently terminated by agreement/contract with CWDR for the following reasons: In June 2023, I enrolled 6 creditor accounts with CWDR with the logical understanding that my initial deposit and subsequent monthly payments would activate the services of CWDR in terms of managing and paying down the account balances of the enrolled 6 creditor accounts. Fast forward to July 2024 (12 months months later) and the following is factually documented by CWDR, Global Holdings (CWDR's trust company), and Citibank (my bank): I paid a total of $3,032 to CWDR/Global Holdings; CWDR deducted $1,886 for service fees; Global Holdings deducted $244 for service fees; and CWDR/Global Holdings paid $900 to a single creditor out of the 6 enrolled (resulting in a $900 balance still due to this single creditor). In other words: After 1 year, CWDR managed and made payments to only 1 creditor account out of the 6 enrolled. After 1 year, I paid a total of $2,130 to CWDR/Global to pay off $900 of debt to a single creditor! $2,130 + $900 = $3,032 I paid to CWDR/Global. Exactly 70% of my total payments to CWDR/Global were deducted for service fees and 30% went to reducing my debt! Important questions: Is this debt relief? No! Is this debt reduction? No! Is this debt enhancement? Yes! Is it illegal business activity? Read onward. Regarding the CWDR Debt Resolution Service Agreement/Contract that each current and past client signed, it is a lengthy 41 page document, and it is rather obtuse by way of detail. We each know that CWDR did not force us to sign this agreement, but I am confident that each one of us signed this agreement for the purpose of debt resolution/reduction, not debt enhancement. (The reason I call it debt enhancement is that it is factually clear that I incurred $2,130 of new debt to pay off $900 of old debt). There is no need for me to get into the details of our signed agreement/contracts because it will need to be examined by lawyers in the context of my circumstance, which is very likely the same circumstance for hundreds of current and past CWDR clients. With respect to my previous rhetorical question of "Is it illegal business activity?", I pose the following questions: 1-Have any of you automatically received a monthly statement via mail/e-mail from CWDR/Global detailing your monthly account activity and balances? 2-Upon signing your agreement/contract, did CWDR automatically provide instructions to you about how you can access your monthly statements? 3-If and when you were able to access/view/download your monthly statements via CWDR/Global Holdings, did you notice data columns that were titled CREDITOR ACCT. 1234 and CREDITOR ACCT. XXXX (creditor = name of your enrolled creditor; acct. xxxx = any four numbers) with debits/deductions underneath? For #1-2, my answer is No, Never. I had to inquire/ask after 5 months of making payments. For #3, it is logical for one to understand that the debits/deductions were being paid into a trust for future payment to that specific creditor. However, the fact is that these debits/deductions were being paid as service fees to CWDR. See the attached Table I created for my circumstance. See the Totals of $2,130 and $900 at the bottom. Additionally, see the attached CWDR Year-To-Date (12 months) Statement. The dollar amounts on the Statement match the Table. On the Statement, notice the Descriptors used, several of which are misleading or inaccurate. BOTTOM LINE: CWDR is simply dealing with your enrolled creditor accounts on a one-by-one basis and earning substantial monthly services fees (in total) from a prolonged process. In my case, the single creditor that CWDR supposedly spent one year "managing" had offered the same settlement offer to me that CWDR states they secured. In other words, I could have paid the settlement offer and saved $2,130. IF YOU ARE A CURRENT CWDR CLIENT, PLEASE ANALYZE YOUR STATEMENTS IN A MANNER SIMILAR TO WHAT I'VE DONE. IF YOU ARE A CURRENT/PAST CWDR CLIENT WHO HAS EXPERIENCED SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES, PLEASE REPLY TO THIS POSTING SO THAT WE CAN FURTHER COMMUNICATE. On a Final Note, I already know how CWDR will respond to this posting. They will cite the lengthy 41 page document that I signed and state that the single creditor I mention had filed a court hearing against me. Both statements are true as statements, but they do not legitimize or corroborate the resulting financial circumstances that in effect became unwarranted debt to me and illegitimate revenue to CWDR.

shady sales tactics. they say you will pay less but in fact you pay because of the fees which are also predatory. DO NOT go through them.

I started to panic, and I did some research here on Yelp, and I landed myself in the lap of First Choice. I contacted them, and got to work on trying to figure out what to do with my situation. I wanted to avoid bankruptcy for multiple reasons, however I didnt know how I was going to make a huge payment every month to get myself out of debt. The number given to me for a monthly payment knocked the wind out of me. I had a HUGE amount of debt. I couldnt even make all of my monthly payments, what I was paying on my cards, was just being put right back on in finance charges. It was so overwhelming. I decided I had no other choice, and I went and got a second job, and eventually cancelled items like my Disneyland pass, and other items to be able to make one payment to First Choice. It hasnt been easy, but they were extremely easy to work with. They negotiated with my creditors, and as part of their program and your payment to them, you also have legal representation for advice and other items. I will leave a separate review for Veritas Legal however they were amazing to work with as well, including having me keep track of phone calls from creditors, and calling them to tell them to stop calling me, and tracking when they dont, and going after them if they violate the law and continue to call, resulting in some debt possibly being forgiven. I was offered a loan through a partner of First Choice, that I accepted. This resulted in all of my debt being settled and paid off, and I now am paying back the loan, at a slightly lower monthly payment as when I originally signed up. I have probably 3 1/2 more years to pay all of this off, but I am so grateful to have worked with them to get my life back in order. They were so very helpful from the very beginning through the very end of the loan company taking over. The only thing that caught me off guard was receiving 1099-C forms. I was not expecting this, and had to amend my tax return and am still waiting to see if I will owe money on these. That can take up to 6 months... and it sounds like if the IRS forgives the money owed, you will just not get a response from them. Very stressful and once 2020 is over, I will be happy to know where I stand on that matter. I recommend this company, just know there is a LOT of work that goes into taking care of debt, and you will have to put a lot into it, but this is the place to do it with. They will guide you every step and answer all of your questions. Good luck!!!

What seemed like the end for me turned into a fresh start because of their guidance and expertise. After speaking with several firms over the course of a couple of months, I was referred to Financial Relief Law Center due to the complexity of my case. From my very first conversation with Victor, I immediately knew I was in the right hands. He was professional, understanding, and--most importantly--never once made me feel judged. His reassurance alone gave me the confidence to move forward. Once I retained them, I began working closely with Andy, who guided me every step of the way. Prior to this, I had received misinformation from other attorneys, and that stress led me to make a decision on my own without first consulting him. Despite that, Andy's expertise and dedication were able to pull me out of what felt like an endless hole. Through numerous hearings, Andy fought for my rights and remained committed to my case. In the end, he proved victorious with the final ruling, and I couldn't be more grateful. If you're looking for a team that truly cares, knows what they're doing, and will stand by you through a difficult time, I highly recommend Financial Relief Law Center. Victor and Andy gave me not just legal support, but peace of mind and a second chance.

We retained this firm for approximately a year and a half while navigating one of the most…read moredifficult financial periods of our lives. Throughout that time, we relied on their guidance regarding bankruptcy eligibility, timing, and strategy, trusting that they would help us make informed decisions about our future. Unfortunately, our experience was defined by inconsistent information, poor communication, lack of responsiveness, and a complete absence of empathy for what our family was going through. We initially worked with Amanda and followed her guidance regarding our bankruptcy options and filing timeline. Over time, we began noticing inconsistencies in the information we were receiving regarding our Chapter 7 eligibility, how my disability income would be treated, and when we could move forward with filing. When we raised concerns about the conflicting advice, communication issues, and lack of compassion surrounding our circumstances, we never received a meaningful response. Instead, our case was eventually transferred to another attorney, Rich, leaving us feeling unheard and without any accountability for the concerns we had raised. Unfortunately, once our case was transferred, the communication problems continued. Emails often went unanswered, follow-up was frequently required just to obtain basic updates, and responses were often delayed despite the urgency of our situation. We were dealing with job loss, disability, mounting financial hardship, and ultimately the loss of our home. During a time when we needed guidance and support, we often felt like just another file rather than valued clients who had been on retainer for well over a year. What is most disappointing is that after working with this firm for such an extended period of time and being in regular communication about our financial circumstances, important issues affecting our bankruptcy strategy were not addressed until it was too late. As a result, we lost the opportunity to take actions that may have allowed us to preserve more than $8,000 that would have made a significant difference for our family during an already devastating financial crisis. No attorney can guarantee a particular outcome, and we understand that bankruptcy law can be complex. However, clients deserve accurate information, consistent guidance, timely communication, accountability, and genuine concern for the impact these decisions have on their lives. In our experience, this firm failed to provide those things. After a year and a half of waiting, uncertainty, conflicting information, and feeling ignored when we expressed concerns, we cannot recommend this firm to others facing serious financial hardship.

My payments are every 2 weeks - 26 payments in a year. For 3 months of the year, there would be 3 payments instead of 2. I could do it until I needed to go on disability in September. I called and asked if I could make just one payment each month. I gave them the amounts and did the basic math. Example: payments of $200 every two weeks would be $200 X 26 (weeks) = $5,200. Divide by 12 would be $433.33 each month. They said they would get back to me within 5-7 business days. When I was not called back, I called. Just before all this started, they had called and asked if I could increase my payments because of a settlement offer I would need to pay an extra $35. I had said no. When I called back, they wanted me to pay a little under $40 extra. I said no. No calls, no emails, no nothing. I sent messages, called, said I would be suspending payments. Still nothing. I called my bank and suspended the payments, well in advance. The day the payment was to come out, I got a call and an email. Too late. The excuse I kept getting was, "We don't pay by the year". No duh. Not one of the employees could do basic math.
